Loitoktok District, Rift Valley, Kenya, Eldama Ravine
Natural area with abundant wildlife, including free-ranging elephants & 600 species of birds.
Holiday of a lifetime would recommend it to anyone if you get the chance
Me and my family stayed at Tortilli’s Camp in Amboselli, which was perfect staying! Everyone so polite and kind. The food was amazing and the acomodations very comfortable. The park is good, we saw a lot of animals and a lot of elephants, just as was promised. But one thing that really choked us was the carcass of dead animals that are dying from starvation. We saw carcass in masai mara and meru as well, but mostly bones left by big cats. The image of this animals dying was intense, considering that it was A LOT of them :(The smell was very strong too. Even the vultures can’t eat all of them cause it’s too much, and there’s more dying everyday…The animals that were still alive were very skinny, walking long distances to find water and clearly very stressed because of the lack of food.We know that this is nature and probably the circle of life here, but I wanted to warn you cause no one spoke to me about it, and if you are a more sensitive person this could be really sad for you to see.Just praying for Amboselli to have some good rain soon and save this animals 🙏🏼The Kilimanjaro mountain is really impressive and you can see that the elephants and hippos are more adapted to this environment! (But even them are feeling this dry season, mostly because of the food competition)
Lots of animals dying cause of lack of food and heat
Breathtaking number and variety of wild animals.Opportunities to see some lions, but mostly wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, etc.Animals gather on the few water bodies available so it provides a good opportunity to take pictures of a large number of animals together.Getting through the gates can take some time, but reasonable.Water is scarce in the area so please bear this in mind and be sensible if you visit the area!
One of the most exciting parks. View of kilimanjaro is breathtaking. It was dry season and the elephants were rushing to a nearby water hole. So much of a traffic jam.
Best game drive experience! Thank you Starboard Safaris for the trip
The best national park.Views of KilimanjaroSwamps with abundant wildlife with the great mountain in the backdrop.Cant beat this.
Amboseli national park has good weather and wild animal are very many here.
Unbelievable experience, a dream to see the large mammals coexist in this amazing park under the careful watch of Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli is a beautiful park with lots of wildlife. It was definitely worth the trip, after getting there I wished I could have more than a day to get a higher chance to some more animals.
The experience was magical as we began at Kimana gate and had the chance to witness the marvelous landscapes filled with untouched, unaltered, and non exploited flora and fauna in their in typical setting in the eco system. If you arent a fan of the " Game of Hide and Seek" then game drives arent of you, as the animal hide comfortably in their habitats and we ought to go and seek them. Were among the few to spot a pride of lions just as were we about to exit the park.
Beautiful animals and landscape at foot of Kilimanjaro.
A small national park as compared to Masaimara. A desert like environment in backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. But they have enough wildlife to satisfy your eyes. We came to know this national park is famous for Herd of Elephants and also for giraffes. We found that was very true, the elephants was everywhere. Located many herds of lions. Also there was enough cheetahs lions wild beasts and many more. The sky was cloudy so we didnt get good picture of Mount Kilimanjaro. But the other things was good.
Just love this National reserve. Must visit.
Nice park, but can not beat Mara as you are not able to get as close to the animals as there. Good to know: most animals migrate to the park during winter (June-Augustwhich is best time to visit, but it often gets cloudy so you might see mt Kilimanjaro only for a few moments. It gets dusty, very dusty. The road to the entrance at Kimana gate is only being paved now, while the main road is closed you should drive right by it and it is very bumpy. We regret not staying in Ol Tukai, which is one of the few lodges inside the park, a bit higher price is worthed when you dont waste time on the bumpy and dusty road every day. AA lodge and especially Sopa lodge are far from the entrance so dont I wouldnt recommend them.
Wonderful, plenty to experience. Diversified, well kept and wild!
It was like a dream come true , I expected to see more wilderness but I felt satisfied. Got the chance to see a lion defending hits good from a hiena .
This is one of the best parks Ive visited and never disappoints! Theres beauty all around - wildlife and the stunning views of Kilimanjaro in the morning and evening light makes this place simply magical.Amboseli is a must visit stop if youre planning a Kenya visit! Id highly recommend a guided / organised tour to ensure you dont miss on the perfect wildlife sightings.~ Ayaan @traveltribeafrica.com
Elephant paradise, elephants everywhere and they come pretty close to the car too. Lots of flamingos around the lake, and of course a lot of dust. You can see far and wide as there seems to be no grass. Couldnt see kilimanjaro during the day but got a gorgeous view at night and a bit of the milky way.
It has a true picture of nature, its home of all kinds of animals and birds. You cant afford to miss a visit. The view of Mt. Kilimajaro is perfect here when the weather parmits. You will also ejoy viewing large hards of the biggest elephants going down to the swamps to graze and cool their bodies with water and watch them again in the evening moving out of the swamps.
Loved this National Park. Visited for two days as part of a Safari. The Elephants were magnificent and numerous as were the Zebras, Giraffes and various antelopes
The park is in kenya alongside some few kilometres from Tanzania 🇹🇿 border it has very infinite ♾ elephant with a beautiful scenery view of the lions and its cubs . The park was one of the very best review park in kenya 🇰🇪 alongside some of the elephant 🐘 which was Eye capturing . It has resort where you can take breakfast with your wife 😋 beautiful view in its execution when you need its the most . One of the best safaris in kenya 🇰🇪 . The rocky hills view hills of Mt kilimanjaro is exceptional. The local dress codes, 👗 eating culture, the dance to their culture songs. #kenyanumber1 in wildlife and Tourism which includes waterbucks ,swampy region and also the very tigers 🐅 where you can also spot lion hunting arrow 🏹 in the amboseli Park. 🍸 ⏸ 🧼 pictures taking during the sunset all you need is fully charged 📱 and also some drinks 🍸 . God created 🙌 🙏 one of the most places on earth and this one no exception. ALHAMDULLILHI. #PRAISEGOD .the place is affordable and you can take the bookings earlier on. Welcome allll.🤩🤩🤩🤩
Best park in Kenya.good park roads.variety of animals to see.consider taking the kws bandas ,they exceeded my expectations. really nice and affordable.
Experience a wonderful site of wild animals and birds through the safari. There is a Good and quick service at the gate and you are definitely guaranteed to see the big five and other wild animals like hyenas, zebras etc
An absolute piece of Eden on earth, untamed marshlands, complemented with an abundance of fauna. Witnessed, lions, elephants(like in plenty), zebras, wildebeest, hyena, lots of different bird species. This was such a surreal experience. ♡
The home of elephants. Right from the Kimana Gate, we were greeted by a herd of elephants. It was breath taking. We also got a chance to watch a pride of lions taking a nap under a tree.
Best Place to See the Big Elephant Herds while in Kenya. The Views of Mt Kilimanjaro are Spectacular.Lion Prides are in Plenty and if lucky spot them hunting.Recommend for everyone looking for a Wildlife Safari.
One of the most beautiful game parks, the views are unbelievable. Green, open views with plenty of game to see. We even saw majestic lion enjoying an afternoon siesta.Overall will come back again very soon.
The park where we can see the Mont Kilimanjaro very close , the animals are more than amazing, very nice experience ! 🐘🦓🦌
Unique and beautiful, lots of wildlife with the view of the Mount Kilimanjaro and the seasonal lake makes it one of its own ,not forgetting it’s a great place for bird watching too
A place like no other. Absolutely stunning scenery, especially with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. An extremely wide range of animals ranging from tortoises to hippos. Saw 3 of the big 5 here (Cheetah, Lion, Elephant). There are big herds here, we saw 100’s of elephants in a herd and saw cheetahs twice with one even hunting. The plains make it much easier to see the wildlife compared to Tsavo West where we also went on our travels. Highly recommend to go to if you are looking at which National park to go to. It’s a smaller park to the rest but there’s lots to see within it!
Its worthwhile going because of the swamp which makes up part of the reserve and the view onto Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. The swamp makes for a beautiful scenery and unusual wildlife encounters. But other than that I feel Masai Mara and particularly Lake Nakuru make for a more interesting experience.
Enjoyed this national park. Has 4 main gates. Ticket was at 860ksh for citizens and residents plus a small charge for vehicle. Park opens at 6am to 6pm. Theres a couple of resorts within the park, we stayed at Ol Tukai which was fantastic. Early morning hours you can catch the lions basking if you are lucky and you wont miss the elephants where ever you go. The most breath taking was mount Kilimanjaro which you could see clearly. Lots of birds and is a great park for bird lovers. Dont miss the observation hill, has one of the best views too
Awesome park with loads of elephants, waterbucks, wildebeests and giraffes. Saw some zebras and hippos. Missed a lion and cheetah sighting but overall a good place to see wildlife up close
Smaller but accessable park with many elephants and wetlands with hippos and birds. But also giraffs, buffalos, lions and if you are lycky cheetah.
Amboseli is among my favourite locations for wildlife photography in Kenya. As a photographer, the topography and abundance of Elephants with the Kilimanjaro backdrop makes it standout. I have been driving lately more to Amboseli and love the flood plains and the marshes with Elephants and the occasional Lions coming close to the vehicle. Best experience would be to stay inside the park at one of the lodges. This gives you more time for photography and access to the wildlife rich zones of the park
Amboseli Never disappoints... Get the magical Kenya experience.. The Mount Kilimanjaro in the background as the Jumbos walk briskly across Lake Amboseli.
Home of elephants!! Didn’t get a chance to see lions here but Amboseli is definitely my favourite park in Kenya! All photons taken by my phone so you can see how close I was to these animals!!
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africas highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenyas most popular national parks. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and you can actually notice sands in the air like that in the park. Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants and a lot of interesting birds up close.
Diverse landscape - bush, marsh area and a breathtaking lake with Flamingos and Hippos.Kilimanjaro in the backdrop is spectacular.
amazing amount of African wildlife. saw over 100 elephants at one time. lots of lions including cubs. lots of ostrich and other amazing birds.
Amboseli National Park. Lovely scenery saw lions, majestic elephants, wilderbeast, zebras, hippos, giraffes, a wide variety of birds.
Home to the Biggest mountain in Africa and many Elephants, Kilimanjaro National Park should be on top of everyones bucket list. I am glad to have ticked mine of with a group of amazing humans through Green Rangers Safari. I plan to visit again and stay a while longer.
Absolutely breathtaking! It was like something from a movie. You are able to get right next to all the amazing African animals with a beautiful view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background
All I can say is WOW, Amboseli national Park is a must for anyone wanting to experience the true magic of Kenya & East Africa. The game viewing in excellent especially for eleohants. In all my life in the African bush I ha e never seen such large groups of elephants and some of the big tuskers take your breath away. Cats can be difficult to see in your safari but depending on your camp of choice and guide, nothing is impossible. If you plan on visiting I would definitely recommend Tortillis camp which is part of the Elewana collection, you definitely wont be disappointed.
Had a lovely time in Amboseli. Id highly recommend visiting during the dry season to avoid a cloudy Kilimanjaro. Seeing Kili is the main reason to come here instead of say the Mara or a Tsavo. Youll for sure see many elephants and they had a bit of a baby boom last year, so youll see many cute baby elephants as well. Theres a nice viewpoint you should ask your guide to take you to for a packed breakfast. There are few lions and cheetahs here, and no leopards or rhinos
A crown jewel in the Kenyan park system. With Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, this is elephant country. Plan to stay at least two days (there are lodges inside the parkto get the morning and evening light.
A must see. What a wonderful adventure. I saw beautiful, majestic elephants, Hyenas, lions and ostriches. Our guide Anthony was amazing. We even got to see the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Highly recommend Amboseli!!
A "small" park by relative standards but still quite large. Needs a couple of days of game drives to cover completely. Hot during mid day but very nice and cool in the mornings a d evenings so do plan accordingly. Lots of lesser flamingo now in the various swamps and birdlife is abundant. Elephants are the large game to view, with lots of gazelle and other herbivores.
If you are absolutely Amazed by Elephants this is the place to visit. So many up close and just right there. No searching for them. Its also neat to climb up to the observation hill and look and see all the animals. I visited in October 2020
