Perfect place for gluwein on a winters day. Generous cheese platter and decadent pancakes are perfect for sharing! Its a small restaurant so best to book!

Situated on the DuToits pass on the Paarl side this delightful venue shares art and food. Austrian fare on the menu. We popped in on the way to lunch elsewhere and only sampled coffee and Apfelstrudel and wraps filled with ice cream and chocolate and nut draped cream. Swift service, authentic Austrian tastes and quality efficiently served. We shall definitely return to try more of the venue. Art decorated indoors and stunning views outside. A gem worth visiting.

Such a lovely place to be at a Sunday afternoon. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The view makes you feel you are not in South Africa.

Super friendly staff serving good food in picture perfect surroundings.We are truly blessed to be able to enjoy such treasures in Cape Town.Amberg is situated just a short drive outside of Paarl, as you enter the du Toits Kloof pass.There is outside seating, inside seating with fireplace to warm you on those colder winter days, caters for conferences and has accommodation.And for those you are looking for looking, there are a few art pieces on sale.Do yourself a favour and take a drive, enjoy the scenery, and lavish in the sunshine while you enjoy a wonderful meal.

We enjoyed our outing to this small, family-owned and run establishment in the Du Toitskloof pass outside Paarl. Our waiter was professional and we enjoyed chatting to the hands-on and charming owneress who managed things in the kitchen and the front of house in her stride. The food was of a high quality (an Austrian-themed menuand had a home-cooked flavour to it. The mountain setting added to our pleasant experience.

My wife enjoys veal so decided to try this eatery. The dishes were really good, in fact they were excellent. I would most definitely recommend Amberg for good, wholesome Austrian /German cuisine.

Beautiful place with an amazing food .. few km away from Cape Town but worth the drive. Staff is excellent he knew his menu , was wellcoming. Place is clean . I would recommend this place to anyone local or a tourist you must try it. Or just come and chill out in nature. You will not be disappointed.

Being an Austrian Native, I thoroughly appreciated the authentic, delicious traditional cuisine and lovely German speaking hosts in this simple, yet charming setting.I definitely want to come back to taste everything on the menu, its worth the drive.Make a day of it - visiting the neighbouring charm of Paarl, Wellington, mountain pass to Rawsonville or Bainskloof.

Lovely family running this amazing restaurant that make you feel very welcome. Delicious menu and probably the best steak Ive ever had. Can definitely recommend the herb butter sauce on the steak!!! 10/10

Really loved it there this morning. It was so relaxing we just couldnt get up to go home. When we got there just after 9am we met the Peter, the chef who is originally from Austria. He made us feel welcome and served us with some great Americanos. The food we had was really good with a noticeable Austrian flavour. The atmosphere is stunning, located at the foot of the mountain, the views are magnificent. Our little boy loved it there. I will definitely return again. Highly recommended!!

Amazing establishment that is family run. It is set between picturesque mountain views. Make sure to book the outside table in order to take in the view. It has a soul because the owners ensure that every customer have a personalized experience, which definitely makes it stand out from many of the dismal establishments in Paarl.

Family restaurant, delicious food and great service. Lovely chatty and cosy atmosphere, feels like youre at home 😊 They also have good coffee and a variety of drinks.

Super. Wonderful view over Paarl and Paarl mountain. Very quiet up there. The food is very good and is more Austrian style food. Food is served over the whole day and is ideal for a relaxed get away. Kiddies menu is available. A good wine selection is available.

Quaint and unassuming place along the mountain pass. Have the full-house farm breakfast, you will not regret it. They serve it all day. Great value for money. Inside and outside seating available with views of the paarl valley. Barista-quality coffee and freshly baked bread. Local art on all the walls.

Surprising little gem at the foot of the Du Toits Kloof pass. A lovely location surrounded by majestic mountains. The service from the owner was really great and she was very accommodating. The food was well presented and tasty, however the portion sizes were small and I left still feeling hungry.

On Sunday my wife Oumie and myself decided that since our favorite restaurant re-opened after many years of being closed, that we would like to try out the new Art & Kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised by the the friendliness and service of the owners and staff. The food and wine was very enjoyable and we will definitely visit them again soon.
