Is good and I LOVE there!
Amazing place. A must visit in Manaus.
An artistic marvel in the middle of the Amazon with a multicultural touch from the finest of Europe at that time!! The Europe of the Jungle - incredible 👏
Nice tour of the theater house, the ballroom and the adjacent areasGives a taste of history and the positioning of Manaus as "The Paris" with its original Brazilian Design but orbated with French, Italian, German art and and tapestries.I havent heard a concert but notice most of them are *free to attend*
Its remarkable to see such structure built in the middle of the rainforest.
Amazing place. Very beautiful. Very sophisticated in its day!
Beautiful place, I ❤️ U
Amazing place in the main square os Manaus
Most beautiful theater in the world, in the middle of Amazon jungle. The Amazon Jelwery.
The jewel of Manaus, and it is indeed. Just seeing it from outside is not enough, trust me. Make sure to book a guided tour. In weekdays they happen every hour or so, and cost 20 reais full price, with student discounts available. Totally worth it. The interior is amazing and the place is full of interesting stories. It lasts between 40 and 50 minutes in total. Make sure to enjoy the restaurants around it in the city center.
We visited here on April 21st, Tiradentes holiday. They opened until 13:00.If you go there with official personal Manaus tour guide, you can enter any time, you don’t need to join the tour that is defined each 30 minutes. It was amazing theater. They are constructed by the material from several European countries. We can know that people respected Amazon forecast when they established this theater.By the easy, there is a model of theater made by LEGO block. Kids also enjoyed here.
World famous Amazon Theatre in Manaus Brazil was built at pick of rubber trade. It is a beautiful structure celebrating its 125. years anniversary..
One of the most beautiful places in northern Brazil. Awesome!
Opera house built in the rubber era 135 years ago in a colonial style architecture in Manaus the capital of Amazons state in Brazil. Splendor at its best and very well preserved and active cultural programs held to date
"Teatro amazonia", Amazonas theater, the old opera house built between 1884-1896, during the rubber golden age of Manaus, full of imported rich decoration, with European style. In recent years it came back to be cultural center for Manaus.
A very beautiful building near the port of Manaus. You should visit this place. There are several attractions around it, inform yourself with locals before going there.
The most majestic Opera House. Build in the middle of the jungle, it adds so much class and style to Manaus.
Such a special and historical building. It was one of the first that was built around the forest in the old days and for that reason has a big European influence in its architecture. We didnt have time to see a show there but the acoustics and interior looked impressive.
As vogue listed, one of the most beautiful theaters in the world it’s worth a visit. The ticket costs around 5usd and the tour inside the theater has a duration of around 1 hour.
A must go in Manaus. There is a a play about it’s history. The guided tour is also great. Try the “tacaca” in one of the restaurants near by.My gifts to improve:* Remove that TV from the stage when not in use (it does not belong there)* Better food/coffee shop would be a nice to have* Promote other attractions near by as everyone goes there but may miss other things around
If you like to visit museums and cultural venues its a good option. I went on a Sunday so I also got through the Feiras and Feirinha (kind of a Farmers Market - without organic optionsvery beautiful and with lots of things to try. I found the statue right outside the theatre as a very magnificent one and full of little details. Its a shame it was dirty.
Its really interesting to be in the middle of Amazonia and watch a performance in this building
It is a nice place but It seems expensive for visiting and taking a one hour walk. In fact several visitors preferred to take a picture outside. On the other hand there are nice attractions at nights, I think they worth.
A old beautiful Opera House. Worth the visit.
Interesting place to visit, they have multiple tours per day in English and Portuguese. Student discounts available, ticket office accepts credit cards too.
Went on an English tour, our guide was very knowledgeable. Tour was only an hour and was interesting and worth the entry fee of R$20
Went for free performance. Friendly and professional services by the staffs. Love them. Beautiful hall.
Worth visiting this building from 1896 with the renaissance revival style. This place offers free theater and some concerts just check it ahead! Beautiful building from inside and outside! The highlight in Manaus !
Beautiful building, I was told some areas around it are not safe but didnt see any trace of trouble.
I couldn’t go inside, but it’s a beautiful building and surrounding area. If you are in the neighborhood it’s a must see, and do the Paid tour.
Must have been an awesome opera house in the middle of the Amazon Jungle at the beginning of the 19th century.
Very beautiful theatre from outside and inside...I recommend to take a guided tour (also in english at certain hours, I took the one at 11:00). The tour show you various marvellous room which are decorated in an incredible way...I do not know if I was lucky but at the day of my visit, one full orchestra group was repeating their exhibition and it was so good to hear them for 10m sitting in the best place the theatrer can offer, appreciating the acoustic ... Most of the evening time the theatre is busy with a concert , a lot of them are not lyrics and also free to access. Check their web site for their programmes... Highly recommended for taking a special evening in this historical place
We got an English tour of the place at 10.15 in the morning it costs 20 Reais. Very good tour guide - it was interesting getting the history of the building and understanding the importance being sited at the theatre had for people back then. Didnt get to see any performances but I hear May is a busy month for that.
Great theater, well kept. Our guide showed the whole thing.
Ive been on tours here a couple of times. The guides have always spoken English well and been very informative. The Teatro is beautiful with an interesting history. Both times Ive toured Ive gotten to see various ensembles practising. I doubt this is normal, but had been a happy bonus both times.Be warned that the tour involves a lot of stairs. If someone has difficulty with stairs, they will really only be able to see part of it.The prices for the tour are very fair. Expect the tour to take about an hour. The longest Ive waited for a tour in English to start is about 30 minutes, so plan for that as well.
Amazing old style opera. If you planing go to Manaus Amazonas dont forget include this place in your tour.
Have a stroll around Manaus and enjoy a walk inside this fascinating theatre, that you cannot miss
The whole area is brilliant, nice bars and restaurants, street concerts, street food, the people, the museums. Love it all.
Interesting history and the guide spoke good English
Imagine the Opera Garnier in Paris without as much gold and opulence and this theatre is something close - absolutely amazing and outstanding! Everything has been imported from Europe apart from the timber. The grand waiting room has been designed to imitate the amazon forest. Such a special place in the heart of South America :)
Tons of shows, both free and paid. Nice restaurants around the area (though they are expensive). Its clearly an important area for cultural events in manaus. Beautiful inside, but seating isnt the most comfortable as it is original furniture.
Tours offered every day in English, very worth it! Fascinating history and beautiful building. The only MUST SEE attraction in the city of Manaus in my opinion, if you are a tourist whose primary interest is going into the Amazon.
Impressive structure. History, art, chic...nice guided tour too
Beautiful place and excellent guide!
Lovely architecture of Amazon Theater in the middle of no where can call attraction when there are main events of the evenings opened.
Not bad, there is not much to see in this area other than the Amazon of course. So its one of the best attractions.
Beautiful place! It worth to visit!
Fantastico! Great atmosphere and nice guiding. I really got the impression of the grandiosity of Manaus 100 years back, when rubber was in demand as we wouldnt believe it!
This Theater is the signature building of the city of Manaus, with strong historical value. However, beware of the also strong sunlight at the plaza.
