This place is classified more as English-Indian rather than authentic Indian. The atmosphere is nice and the open grill makes it fun. We ordered the vegetable appetizers, which had mixed results, the vegetarian kebab was the star while everything else varied in quality. Eggplant biryani and the side of potato balls were pretty good and fulfilling but Indian flavors weren’t strong.

We had the private dining room for 9 people which was a bit shabby in places and needed redecorating. My food was nice but extremely overpriced and the after service is terrible. I paid an £800 deposit on the phone and no receipt received. I have emailed the restaurant and left vm messages. I was told today that it would take 2 days to send my receipt. Beyond ridiculous! After this frustrating experience I will not be going there again!

We came twice with my parents over the course of a year (March and May), and we had the most tremendous experience both times. We were served and advised by Delphine, who was absolutely incredible. Extremely professional, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, patient, took into consideration all the allergies that we unfortunately had, and encouraged us to try new things, to no regret 🤩😁! Her service is the best I have ever seen, she is an outstanding asset to this restaurant.Delphine has been the best and I could not recommended this restaurant and her more, it was mesmerising. The food is delicious, beyond anything we had ever tasted, there are vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, it is unique and flavourful, and from less spicy to quite spicy, everyone can find their pick. It is a must-try for anyone who likes Indian food, and wants to try something unique. It is super fresh and such a delight.Thank you Delphine and Amaya for making both our experiences so unforgettable, you are the best 🥳☀️!We will come back for sure 😊

Have visited here twice. Last visit was on the weekend. Cannot fault the service or food. Always flavourful, and due to seasonal menu it’s always exciting to try something new.We were a full vegetarian crowd and a vegan. They happily catered and altered dishes to meet our requirements.

I have heard lot of good stuff about London food scene especially for Indian food. Hence, I was keen to try one of the Indian michelin star restaurants during my London visit in Sep 22. Among the 8 - 10 restaurant I searched, Amaya was the only one available for Friday night. Hence, I decide to dine here.We invited 2 friends to join the dinner with us. We arrived on time for our reservation at 9 PM and were seated immediately. The drink orders were swiftly taken. As we were visiting for first time we received the detail explanation on the food concept and potential serving time. After short deliberation, we selected testing menu. Our host made few recommendations (such as ordering extra Dalwhich we accepted and happy to say was great suggestion.Drinks were served promptly after. In first course, we were served cauliflower and pomegranate crispy salad, which was exceptional. The second course included Paneer Tikka, Yougurt Kabab, Hara bhara Tikka, Chicken Tika and grilled fish. Among these Paneer Tikka and Grilled Fish were below average and other were average to above average only. The main course included bred, biryani, raita and dal. The main course was average overall with only dal worthy of mention. Desert include gulab zamun with ice cream and strawberry kulfi. The gulab zamuns were delicious. The restaurant was crowded at 9 PM which slowly got better by 10:15 PM. The service quality is also average only. Hence, overall its good restaurant but not good enough considering the high price.

Very nice Indian food with reasonable prices for a Michelin star restaurant (menu 100£ incl wine pairing). Balanced flavours and textures. The courses are tapas sizes to share. Waiters could have explained the wines.

Super Indian restaurant in Knightsbridge. We were celebrating a graduation success. The menu had some traditional / time-tested favourites some dishes with a new twist befitting a modern Indian restaurant.Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly with high quality ingredients and tasted amazing. We ordered mango and basil lassi, lemongrass and ginger mocktail and a passion fruit and guava drink followed by oysters, black pepper chicken, watercress kebab, lamb, spinach kababs, tandoori giant prawns, chilli paneer and grilled aubergine followed by vegetarian and chicken biryani. For desserts we had strawberry malai kulfi (different but excellentand pannacotta (saffron and turmeric).Service was superb. Nothing was too much trouble inspite of the restaurant being busy. The restaurant made it a truly memorable day for us!

The food is of good quality but nothing that tickles your taste buds. However, in the event that you have to complain about racism or discriminatory behaviour by the staff of this restaurant, Preman Mohan (The Operations Directoris inept, incompetent, pretentious and extremely unprofessional. He doesnt feel that any restitution is in order when subjected to discrimination or Islamaphobia and any negative comments made by him (as well as the lack of response either in the form of an email or phone call), are solely in order to save on redress costs!Astonishingly he chooses not have the capacity to comprehend the gravity of racism or discriminatory behaviour - Preman, a refresher course for you on Diversity and Inclusion is strongly advised.

My family member and I visited this restaurant on 31st July for a birthday lunch. Our server was extremely cold and unfriendly, he just dropped the menus on the table and walked off without a word (or a smile– really not what you’d expect from an upscale restaurant. My family member accompanying me commented on his manner and we thought maybe he is having a bad day. Suddenly we saw him greet other (Caucasianfamilies on the table nearby with a big smile and a very friendly manner. He handed them the menu, explaining how the menu works, laughed and joked with them, perfectly normally. We observed that he continued with the same manner at other tables (again, Caucasian guestsexcept with us (Asian + my family member wears a scarfwhereby every time he came to our table, he made us feel like we somehow didn’t belong there. Having dined at some of the finest establishments in London (Indian and otherwise), this was such a bizarre experience in comparison. We complained to the Deputy Manager, Asim, about this discriminatory behaviour and requested that our server be changed. The Manager (to our bafflementstarted his response with ‘Well I can’t take any sides…’. Who talks to a customer like that? This isn’t a playground fight where he had to pick a side! All he had to do was apologise, say we will look into this and yes, of course we can change the server. It’s that simple. The whole experience ruined the celebratory environment for us (particularly as this was a treat from my family memberwith a bulk of time spent either shocked at the manner of the server and the response of the Deputy Manager or complaining about this, we just decided to finish our food and leave. We did call the management after we returned to report this incident and the Deputy Manager’s awfully poor manner of handling with the situation. Delphine who took our call was extremely apologetic, shocked at what she heard and said she would love for us to come back and make things right for us. She reported this to Preman Mohan, the Operations Manager who gave us a call on 9th August. Sadly, his manner of dealing with the situation was somewhat like Asim’s: aloof, unprofessional and unable to understand the gravity of the discriminatory manner of the server (despite us asking him to watch the camera and audio footage).Upon him asking us how he should deal with this issue, we asked for the server to undergo relevant Diversity and Inclusion training at the earliest as well as arranging for us for a replacement experience to make us for the horrible experience. The Ops Manager in response said ‘oh why would you want to come back and go through the same experience?’. Basically saying that won’t change anything about their service – to be honest, not surprising given the experience at the restaurant. He told us he’d be in touch in a day or so but we haven’t heard back.I’d definitely skip this restaurant and go elsewhere where you’re respected regardless of your skin colour and your attire.

This is a great place to experience a different variety of indian cuisine. Well-defined menu, and it is worth trying out different items. Black pepper chicken, Grilled seabass, spinach tikki with spiced fig were good. Grilled items are the specialities here. The ambiance is good to experience a calm and peaceful time with family. Staff is also great and very helpful. The desserts are good. We ordered panna cotta and that was the perfect end of the wonderful dinner. I would like to visit this place again.

Today 8-August-2022 6 pm I was there ..The The food is very ordinary compared to other Indian restaurants. The workers in the restaurant are very, very arrogant and treat people according to their gender, especially the girl in the reception and in charge of the waiters, Mr. Asif and his other colleague have a beard. Imagine that there is a minimum of fifty pounds for each person that he has to bear in addition to his order!!! I am a regular customer of the restaurant. I was here during the Christmas period and the reception was better and the staff was more kind..Imagine the moment we sat before ordering Mr. Asif, if you want to sit and eat here you must read our policy and bear the minimum plus your orders from the menu and I was with my family five Individuals and he wanted me to pay fifty pounds for each person!! Is this how high-end restaurants receive their regular customers!! By waving the prices and sidelining them for 20 minutes even though we pre-booked through the website.. horrible experience.. normal food. Worst reception..unfortunately racist treatment!!!

Very nice experience and very tasty food, everything we ordered is in the photos, except for the Basil chicken chops. Everything we ordered is recommended. Also, some of us ordered prawns from the starter but they are not my style. However, who tried it says it is good. The gulab Jamon was good too.

Best Indian restaurant in London??Across 9 dishes the texture of every protein, carb, grain was cooked to perfection. The flavours were incredibly warming and yet they kept you guessing at each turn. We ordered the Scallops, lamp chops, prawns, duck, baby potatos, mustard spinach, lamb Rogan Josh, Kerala prawn, chicken biryani and garlic naan. While the scallops could have relied less on the incredible sauce, the potatoes were a little over salted and the chicken biryani a tad plainer than weve tasted, the remaining dishes were a HUGE sensation for the pallette. The lamb chops, prawns and duck starters were standout and should not be missed. The Kerala prawn was the better of the two curries and the spinach was deliciously pungent and provided a great contrast. Dont expect too much from the somewhat inexperienced service (no timely welcome, delays in taking orders, serving drinks and clearing dishes), let the food do the talking and this is a clear 5 star rating.Edit: Also ordered the pomegranate and passionatefruit granita (crushed ice with sugar and flavouringfor desert and was served an Indian donut as a birthday treat. Both tasty and wrapped up our meal well. They also have a gorgeous private room downstairs for larger groups.

Good flavours but terrifying service - uncooked chicken and poor responses. We went for a double birthday celebration with my sister and her boyfriend - “we loved the flavours.Unfortunately, one of the chicken dishes was undercooked. Myself and my partner thought that it was impossible from a Michelin restaurant, so we proceeded to finish the dish. But when my sister also found hers to be uncooked, we brought it up with the new floor manager. The dish was taken off from our bill, I appreciate it. However, we were not very pleased with the responses from the floor manager. He reassured that the uncooked part was only due to the skewer part, I tried to explain that two extra people’s chicken all had the same issue hence more needed to be looked into other than the skewer. I was calmly describing, within 20 seconds I was then shut down immediately, mid sentence, by the manager, “calm down madam”.The manager did offer us a replacement dish, which we turned down as we were very full already. We were not asking for a replacement, simply wanted to provide a constructive feedback as we did enjoy the meal up till then. Therefore, we did not appreciate how we were not listened to and the attitude had upset the rest of the meal.We went for the delicious food, also more importantly, the atmosphere and quality from a Michelin restaurant. The experience itself was a bit of a let down and after this whole situation, only a £22 was taken off the bill, we were very surprised and somewhat disappointed by the service provided.”I sent the above to the restaurant, but didn’t even receive any responses nor an apology. We are absolutely shocked by their attitude, especially from a Michelin restaurant. The flavours were undoubtedly good, but the service was a complete let down.

Quite disappointed with the food. We opted for the set non-vegetarian menu and chose to have the strawberry kulfi instead of the gulab jamun. The waiter was accomodating and made this change for us. I didnt quite like the cabbage appetiser, it needs more to it. The first bite, I just felt like I was eating raw cabbage. The pepper chicken and paneer were nice but then they were served with naan. It was odd to have the naan with the dry appetiser. Naan needs some curry or some semi-gravy to go with it, every Indian knows that. The garlic chicken biryani was nice and so was the spinach dish. Also, asparagus is not used in any Indian dishes and didnt taste great. The dessert was the biggest disappointment as I was looking forward to the kulfi but it was not served the traditional way, which is fine but it wasnt pleasant especially with the sesame crumbs. Never have I not finished by dessert before. All in all, doesnt justify the money paid.

Amaya , I mean what a restaurant. Amaya is know for being one of the best Indians in London if not THE BEST. The vibe and ambiance of this place is always on fire and is always packed out . For starters we had 2 variations of chicken tikka ( black pepper and malai they were both phenomenal but the black pepper chicken tikka is a must try when going to Amaya , the chicken was packed with flavour and soft as butter with juices flowing out of the meat like an Amazon river . The lamb chops also packed a punch with flavour and tender to the bone . The tikka broccoli was ok as it didn’t have much flavour and I expected it to be more soft although it did have a nice yoghurt sauce accompanying it . For mains we had a lamb curry as well as daal which is an Indian classic . The lamb curry could’ve been better as it was a bit on the tomatoey side and wasn’t as tender as I would’ve liked it to have been . The daal was ok , didn’t have much flavour and personally recommend. That being said I would give these guys a 4/5 stars as majority of the food was good except the curries , that being says this restaurant is a grill and bar suggesting they don’t specialise in curries .

Wonderful evening at Amayas. We loved the tapas-style menu. Food and service were excellent but you would expect that with a Michelin restaurant and the prices that go along with it. That said it was worth every penny. We had the cabbage salad, prawns, scallops, black pepper chicken tikka as tapas. The sauce with the scallops was amazing. Get the Truffle naan. It was so good we had two orders. We also had a chicken Biryanis but I would skip the larger dishes and have more tapas. It was great as week but I love the variety with the tapas. We will definitely go back!

We enjoyed our food at amaya. The vibe is good, the waiters are really nice and professional. We had the set menu which was £45/person and then a dessert. We really enjoyed the chicken kebab, spinach kebab, biriyani and raita. The chicken kebab was like no other I’ve had. However some of the dishes weren’t so amazing, they were good but not what I’d think Michelin star. Finally the dessert was chocolate rasmalai. Honestly this was not really my type of thing, I much prefer a normal rasmalai. The show was amazing with melting chocolate but I’d not have gone for this second time.Overall the food is very good, however, I expected a bit more from a Michelin star and also high prices. It might be worth getting a la Carte than the set menu.

The food was spot on, each course was just as good as the first and the flavours were phenomenal. The portion sizes were what you would expect and we ordered around 8 dishes which was adequate for two. The food came as soon as it was made which meant it was fresh, hot and even tastier. The only reason it isnt five stars is because of the lack of non alcoholic choice of drinks, and the service in between meals of cleaning up the table and bringing fresh plates to enhance the dining experience. Would still recommend!
