Serene, luxury hotel restaurant with Modern European menu and bespoke dishes matched to chosen wine.
First off, the service was impeccable. So no complaints there. The food, however, while well presented and perfectly done, didnt delight as much as one would expect food to at these prices. The only dish that stood out was the scallop.
The tasting menu was excellent. An interesting choice in the flight of beer, well worth having individually. Apart from one waiter who tried to talk to me while l still had a mouthful, not up to the standard of the remainder, the staff were excellent.
An upscale top of the line restaurant. Very delicious and awesome food with multiple course. Service is excellent and staff is very courteous and hospitality is warm. Presentation of food is excellent and beautiful. Ambience is beautiful and decor is wonderful.
An absolutely wonderful experience for the entire evening. Each course is meticulously prepared and presented. Decor and ambiance was lovely. Despite seeking to critique the food somewhere along the way, it was impossible - everything was perfect. The sommelier was knowledgeable and personable and the wine was perfectly paired (but Im no expert with the wine). Service was attentive all the way from having my jacket taken for me, right through to having it put back on at the end of the evening on my way out the door. We were a table of five and were offered a tour of the kitchen which we accepted, which was a really nice touch. I personally got to meet the head chef and chat through his development of the menu and dishes on the taster menu.A duly earned Michelin star.

We spent a fabulous Saturday afternoon at this restaurant . The food and service here are as good as it gets. The food flavours were excellent, wine pairings spot on and all the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being obtrusive.
Had an amazing fiver hour visit here in February 2019 where I was treated to the nine course tasting menu with matching beers. Such a special day. All the staff were fantastic and we met Alyn for a kitchen visit too.
Very good food. Fantastic service.
Super relaxed, incredible food and wine and brilliant service. We had the tasting menu which was full of amazing treats. The lobster in particular was outstanding, so was everything else. The sommelier provided such great wines. Thank you for making our evening so special.
Second visit. As good as the first. Friendly, professional service. Imaginative, balanced menu, beautifully presented without being too cheffy. Great value at lunchtime.
Went here for £35 set lunch. Really good quality food, with excellent service. Only complaint is that portions were a bit small - especially the main course which was pretty insubstantial.
We went for their 5 course (surprise me!meal. Delicious food esp the exquisite halibut and the mackerel dishes, and great wine choice from the sommelier. Really loved the bread and all the little add on small bites and refresher dishes in between the courses. Super friendly and attentive service from our waiter, Florian. Lovely setting. Would highly recommend. We had a thoroughly lovely experience.
Nice and posh place with a Michelin Star. Food preparation is meticulous as befitting the star rating and being in a Mayfair hotel. But lacks a wow factor in the dishes.
Great service. I enjoyed most of the dishes (gougeres and bread were the best Ive had, I think...). My favourite was probably the pork jowl. Halibut was cooked well. Scallops were fresh. The petits fours were very delicious. A few dishes that I wasnt quite in love with makes this a four, though.
Had the Chefs Choice lunch menu and it was really really nice. Obviously very expensive but truly great flavours.
Weve had lots of dining experiences when visiting London, but I would say this has to be the best. The service was second to none. The food was exceptional. It is rare to eat food where you can taste each individual element and leave you wanting the experience to keep going. We will return soon.
Excellent service at the bustling Polo bar where they have a good choice of single malt scotch whisky.Lunch at Alyn Williams was a different and very relaxed affair and to be recommended.
Went here for an anniversary meal while on our London trip. We only ordered the set lunch menu, but got a lot more than what we expected. Food and services were good. Highly recommended!
Genuinely exquisite meal and fantastic experience through and throughWe dined at the private table in a gorgeous room and were shown great hospitality by the entire team. The food was of course outstanding. We had a special tasting menu and while everything was delicious, the Halibut and Lobster course were major standouts. The Halibut was one of the best fish dishes Ive had in recent memory, it was perfectly cooked, light and very yummy indeed. The lobster and caviar course was dkvine... as you can see from the photoI could go on and on but Ill leave it at that. Just go experience it for yourself!
Exquisite food in a good setting. The lack of daylight in the dining room was perhaps my only real quibble. Alyn Williams is clearly a chef of calibre, with each dish providing a new delight. The service was good if perhaps a trifle over-formal - which can lead to a slightly aloof or un-engaged quality.
Friendly and efficient service with an excellent wine and beer list. We had the testing menu and apart from a couple of wobbles it was excellent. The halibut in particular was delicious. The windowless dining room is a bit soulless and detracts a little from the experience. Generally though we had a lovely time here
Deserves 2 Michelin stars for food, wine and service, and an award for amazingly good value! 👌
Superb, faultless Michelin starred food. Comprehensive complementary beer and wine list. Friendly staff and excellent service.
Great food, better service! My wife booked at 5 course tasting menu for my birthday, had a great time, all of the staff were attentive without being overbearing and knowledgeable about the menu. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend if youre looking for somewhere to eat in central London.
The tasting menu was fantastic, very filling!! Great service by the staff especially Isobel. Highly recommend.
Great value for a tasting menu, very friendly service, and innovative approaches to presentation and flavour/texture pairing
Quality from start to finish. Had a 5 course tasting menu and felt luxurious and lucky to be there. They made us feel welcome and we stayed 3 hours!! Great food fantastic front of house .
Good food, friendly service. Also got a tour of the kitchens
Taster menu was excellent, staff attentive and provided excellent descriptions of the different courses. The visit to the kitchen and meeting the kitchen team was a great end to a memorable meal. Highly recommended.
Amazing food! We did the 5 courses and a glass of champagne deal and it was just lovely. Really good service, nice atmosphere and top quality food. The deal made it very reasonable price wise
Really enjoyed the meal here. Excellent service and intricate food.
Classy place with amazing food. The tastes are refined yet simple and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone in the menu.We tried the testing menu which at under £50 for five courses was incredible value. An amazing place for a first date as definitely worth a try.Service is also top notch while at the same time not sruffy or pushy. All in all highly recommended.
I was alone and tried the tasting menu. An upscale, Michelin start, with good wine menu. All delicious, fresh, somewhat innovative, great mix of flavours and texture. Will definitely return soon.
Fantastic place!!!! Very tasty and quality meal! So great service and well trained personal! We was really enjoy this place and will difenetly come back here again! 👍🏻
We went here during London Restaurant Week, and they had a 5 course with bubbles for £65. The menu is adapted for everyone on the day, which we loved. It meant that the people on the table opposite were having something totally different to us. We couldnt decide which was our favourite course, there were so many to choose from. The whole menu encompassed so many of my favourite things; foie gras, truffle, venison, salted caramel. It really was beautifully presented, incredibly cooked, and delicious.Service was attentive, but subtle. It was a very relaxed meal, and you didnt feel any pressure to rush. I would say that it was not overly busy- which was a shame, especially seeing it was a Friday night. However, it was an outstanding meal, and certainly somewhere I would highly recommend.
Perfectly cooked food, fantastic flavour combos, delicate presentation. The service was also excellent, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend. (And for people complaining about the music, if you spent more time focussed on your dinner partner and less on the music you might not notice it - we certainly didnt).
Absolutely stunning meal the scallop dish was sublime and the lobster taco was also delicious.
Probably the best food Ive ever eaten. The vegetarian tasting menu is beyond compare. Michelin starred food at a decent price. Awesome. ✌
Fabulous food, faultless service! Just 2 tiny observations. Was not a fan of the background music......too modern and untuneful, not pleasing on the ears. We also both found the table centre leg to large to place our legs comfortably which made us both lean back and look incredibly relaxed at the table, my apologies to fellow diners. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant none the less and would dine here again. Thank you to all the staff.
Its a Michelin star restaurant. What more can I say that an accreditation like that cant say for me? Perfect ambience, lovely attentive staff, amazing food. We had the tasting menu with paired wines skipping dessert (we arent sweet people but I did spy the dessert and almost regretted my decision!). For a special occasion I cant flaw it. They even had a Western Australian wine so I was chuffed (Cullen).
Beautiful atmosphere. I love the wine room. Food is delicious (like eating a piece of cloudand full of fine flavours. I enjoyed watching the dance ballet of service.
The best meal I have ever had. They catered for halal with some notice and the food was absolutely top notch. I would definitely go back.I would recommend contacting them early, and they will do their best to accomodate.
semi-pretentious french dinning with a desperate air of please give us the michelin star, now!. overstaffed, which probably is a way to go in justifying the prices and minuscule 90s style portions. the style of cooking is forgettable, with none of the dishes eaten being remembered half an hour later (what did we eat again?). great wine list, cocktails list average (classics revisited??), luxurious surroundings. nothing wrong with it, but nothing exciting, memorable or energizing either. bit of a snooze. note to patrons: huge number of staff who are super polite and eager to an almost clinically medical level doesnt necessarily makes it better.
Fantastic bespoke set lunch in luxurious Michelin-starred dining room. Friendly staff & excellent service. Incredible value for money for this level of dining
So expensive it was unbelievable. I couldnt eat anything from the set menu so I asked for something separate and different. Waiter said he would check and get back to me. I wait and I wait and I wait. Eventually I call him over again and said you were supposed to let me know. "oh yes he said he could do it". Fine. I order it. When the food comes not only is it a tiny portion, it is not cooked properly. I ask them I want to cooked more. It comes back a second time and still very similar. I tell them I dont want it and leave to go eat elsewhere. I do not expect service or food to be like this especially when paying through the nose. If you are hungry do not go here. Portions are small and cost is expensive. Poor value indeed.
Tasting menu was good but not the standard we expected from the price and other reviews. We had a late booking and the atmosphere was very stale - hard to talk without feeling like others were listening in. Staff were also disappointing and were chatting rather than attending tables
This restaurant definitely should be awarded another star. Personally I far prefer it to the two-star Ledbury. Every dish from the tasting menu was simply sublime. The scallops were heavenly and the salmon was so perfectly cooked - it just almost dissolved away in the mouth. Beautiful and elegant dining room. Impeccable service. I can unreservedly recommend this exceptional example of London gastronomy scene.
Without a doubt the best food in London. Alyn Williams is a genius and the service staff are second to none. You start with breads and butters that are paired and explained in a way that puts all over London restaurants to shame. The champagne (Pol Rogeris a great deal on the wine list and if you have time before go to the Polo bar at the hotel.Great mid week, lovely for early date.
Best romantic date i have ever been on. Most amazing food with some well priced champagne. Hihgly attentive waitors and waitresses and topped off with a little visit behind the scenes. Would recommend a first date, second, third.. definelty worth the money for this gastronomic feast!!
I dont have friends in high places - but Im friends with Michelin Star Chef Alyn Williams! We met in Padstow and he said I should come and dine at his restaurant in The Westbury Hotel. 6 months later I took him up on the invite.Upon arrival it was great to hear he was actually cooking himself that night. You find so many of these chefs are never there. I was amazed he knew I was there with my husband, but he takes care in looking on the reservation list each day, and if you make a reservation for a special occasion, in the kitchen he personally writes on the table plan VIP guest! I was a VIP guest that night, and the experience was fantastic. The restaurant decor is beautiful without being too intimidating, and the young staff make it vibrant and modern. They are knowledgable about the food and wine which impressed me too for their age. The food - well! Just bare in mind that Alyn has come from a two Michelin starred background, working alongside chefs such as Marcus Wareing, and this is blindingly obvious to taste. I felt like I was eating two Michelin star food for the price of a one star restaurant! This alone makes it worth while going! After our mammouth Tasting Menu, Alyn came out to greet all the remaining tables. Another touch that makes this experience magical. He is one of those nice guys that has not suffered at the hands of a harsh industry. He even took time to banter about his precious West Ham with my Wolves supporting husband. I was also granted a quick tour of the kitchens which were impressive too! Hes happy to show them off if hes got the time.At the Westbury the experience is more than just dinner. Other diners around me too were making noises about the decor, food, service, etc! If you love Michelin dining then this is the place to try. I could go on about the food, but Im selling you the whole package - the food speaks for itself!
