Alvar Aalto Museum - Museum in Jyvaskyla, Finland
Alvar Aalto Museum in Jyvaskyla
Description
Museon sijainti yliopiston kainalossa on loistava. Maksullisia parkkipaikkoja on aivan lähellä.
MoreThe museum will be closed because of renovations for a few years. A lovely and comprehensive collection and exhibition, but the building has stairs, no lift (no elevator). After the renovation there will be one.
MoreGood museum, but when we went there they not tell us that the museum under renovation 😪 we know after we pay the ticket and enter
MoreNice museum of the great Finish architect. The display of buildings could have need done a bit better though...
MoreIts not that interesting
Mielenkiintoinen museo ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Museosta "selviää" noin tunnissa pedanttikin museonkävijä. Hyvä kahvila, josta saa lounastakin.
MoreMahtava suomalainen arkkitehti ja suunnittelija. Museossa käynti lisäsi entisestään arvostusta tätä kohtaan. Suosittelen lämpimästi.
MoreIts a cool place, I guess. The museum part itself wasnt anything mind-blowing. It was mainly pictures and some miniatures. The real problem was the customer service. When I got there they first charged me full price even though I was supposed to get a student discount. After that I had to pay again. So I basically paid double and never got back the money from my first purchase.
MorePaljon kuvia ja ja niiden selvennyksiä. Myös puu- ja lasityöt hyvin esillä. Kannattaa käydä.
MoreVery extensive exhibition of Finlands greatest architect / designer
MoreTells a story about Finnish design and architecture but also about local buildings. A place to see for tourist and locals. The museum is not very big so I wont take long. There is also a cute Cafe and shop.
MoreNice and large Alvar Aalto exposition with drawings, pictures and mock ups of the Aaltos projects and furniture. The exposition could be improved in terms of lighting and some pannels are very difficult to read because of colour contrast.
MoreGreat architecture and exhibitions, nice cafeteria, friendly staff. Worth visiting!
Deluso.
MoreQuite informative
Museoon on helppo löytää ja pääsymaksu 6 € on kohtuullinen hinta.Näyttelyssä on historiatietoa ja paljon valokuvia.
MoreThat permanent exhibition panels and graphic are very confusing, dated and difficult to read/understand, plus the building have acoustic issues i think, Kids were screaming and echo was very bad. Beside that the design and details of the museum are good.
MoreNice. Interesting to see the different animals of that area/Finland. Fridays are free :and nice restaurant with incredible view above museum
MoreIf you have any interest at all in architecture, or the life of the great Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto, this place is a must on your stop to Jyväskylä: his hometown. The place is a bit out of the way, and can be hard to find, but Google maps is helpful here.A local tip: there is always free entry on Fridays, as well as during certain town festivals.
MoreOpened our eyes to maser architects anx designers.
Good history exhibition from Alvar Aaltos lifetime produktion
Nice museum and just the correct size.
Small museum but interesting influential local architect.
A very nice museum that provides detailed information about Alvar Aalto. Some of the models and drawings are rare. I dont think I have seen them in documentation.
MoreMy favorite place in Finland. The place is calm and peaceful. It will inspire you if you are interested in arts, architect etc.
MoreNice little museum with really delicious cakes in its coffee shop.
Fascinating history of Finlands greatest architect
Very interesting and nice setup
To be in Säynätsalo and Jyväskylä and not to go to the Alvar Aalto Museum???
Cozy and nice museum about Aalto. Designed by Aalto. The exposition is very nice
Skippable; information was poorly organized and difficult to follow. Would prefer more focus on who Alvar Aalto was and his primary contributions.
MoreThis is a comprehensive museum of the work of architect and interior designer Alvar Aalto, Jyväskyläs most famous son. There is an excellent cafe, and a shop with eye-wateringly expensive examples of Aalto s homeware.
MoreWonderful interior#
Great museum with nice shop and cafeteria. A lot of info about Alvar and his wife and their design work and life.
MoreVery interesting. Good and nice restaurant.
Good info about Alvar Aaltos time and work in Jyväskylä.
Maybe a bit too much text. But really nice!
Nice museum and excellent cafeteria.
Unique. Designed by the designer for the designer.
Cool gift shop and displays
Interesting piece of finnish history
Must visit in Jyväskylä!!
Interesting exchibition!
Famous finnish architech Alvar Aalto design. Must to visit to those who are fans of Alvar Aalto.
MoreHuge amount of models, very interesting. Cool souvenirs. Discounts for students.
Great museum, free on a Friday.
A small museum about the most famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, in a building designed by himself. A must see in Jyväskylä if you are interested in architecture, although the exhibition could be a bit confusing if you are not already familiar with Aaltos work.
MoreIt is a joy to be in a country that treats its artists with such honor. Alvar Aalto was such a thoughtful and creative architect and this museum really shows the whole person and his fascinating life.
