Set a 4-minute walk from a bus stop, this refined hotel in a 19th-century building is 1 km from the Lion Monument, which is dedicated to war heroes, and 3 km from the exhibits at the Swiss Museum of Transport.Warmly decorated with wood floors feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars and fans. Apartments in an annex have full kitchens and separate living rooms. There's no air-conditioning.Free breakfast is served in a casual dining area, also offering optional lunch and dinner. There's terrace seating and a business center.
Very friendly staff, perfect location to explore the city. Excellent value for money.
I really like this hotel! Comfy bed, good location, close to many main tourist attractions and many good restaurants surrounding. Hotel locate in old town area, a bit small but clean, kind stuff and we don’t have any problem during the stay. One best thing is they call us twice because they found a unicorn doll after we checked out the room, but it not ours. This is a very good things I like how they care about guests stuff.
Our room was on level one and looks to the town square so I was surprised it wasnt too noisy. The bed was fine and room was big enough for both of us to open suitcase. Not particularly luxurious but it was comfortable enough. It also has a common area with a microwave. There was so lift for the upper floors.Breakfast was a good spread and delicious
The location is great. Because this is a 3-star hotel, you will not have air conditioning in your room. That being said, the room was quite nice and spacious.
Located in the heart of this beautiful city. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Nice rooms. Highly recommend
Nice hotel in a lovely location. No A/C so rooms are very warm in the summer.
Great location in the heart of the old town. Room was nice and breakfast exceptional. Only negative was due to noise. A street market in the square at the front, was setting up very early in the morning. Not the fault of the hotel.
No air conditioning!!!!I never experienced a bad receptionist with very condescending behavior. We called the front desk to ask an information about the location, a man answered us with a loud voice, unwilling to give us the direction. When we arrived, this man in the front desk was not welcoming, looks like in a bad mood.He should not be placed in a front desk. This man is a jerk with fake smiles, he is not an asset to this hotel. The woman is the afternoon shift was very helpful, very accommodating.
Location is good, but lack of air conditioning is bad in this hear. Rooms were okay, but the shower had signs of mould and the shower head leacked a bit
Do *not* stay here in the summer months. Rooms were sweltering, with little or no A/C. Fans were provided, but they didn’t have much effect. Every member of our family had trouble sleeping, including some who are usually quite heat-tolerant. Maybe it would have been better on the lower floors, but do yourself a favour and don’t leave it up to chance: stay elsewhere.
Very nice and clean rooms, and friendly staff. They had an ice maker that really helped deal with the summer heat! The location is also very convenient: a short walk away from the train station, restaurants, and shopping areas, but can be quite noisy in the early mornings.
Bug infested room. No staff to speak to past 10pm. Had to leave this hotel and check into a new one at midnight when I realized there were bugs crawling up the wall and in my bed! Do not stay here.
Good hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The location is great! The only gripes we had were: 1no air conditioning. This is the case everywhere in Switzerland, even on public transportation. We came here in July during 85+ degree weather and it was pretty uncomfortable. Prepare to sweat! The building remained relatively cool though and they did include multiple fans, so that’s nice. 2The breakfast was not included and cost 100 CHF for 2 days per room. 3Everything around this hotel closed very early or did not open at all during the time we were there. To get some stuff from the pharmacy we had to walk to the train station, which is 12 minutes away, because there was not even a convenience store open anywhere around the hotel. Pretty weird for a touristy area.
Do not stay here. It was a horrible experience that led to us having to switch hotels in the middle of the night. The room was infested with bugs all over the walls, the beds, and the bathroom. We did not open the window as the woman checking us in warned us there were bugs at night and yet the room was already filled with bugs. After 10 pm no one works at the front desk so there is no one to help if needed. Stay anywhere but here.
The location of this hotel is great, but the hotel is pretty basic. The room was okay but noisy at night. Due to no air conditioning, we kept the windows open. There was quite a bit of foot traffic and then recycling collection one morning and construction the next morning. The bathroom needed TLC as well. The shower curtain was cheap and fell out of the track and there was mold in ceiling and between tiles. The hallways of the hotel were really stark and reminded me of a dorm hallway. We did get breakfast, which was really expensive for what you got and tried to cancel but the hotel was unwilling to accommodate a cancellation. If I were back in Lucerne Id find another hotel.
Amazing hotel at a central location, about 10 mins walk from the station. The staff was nice and helpful. The process of checkin and checkout was quick and smooth. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. The room had coffee capsule machine, you could also get hot water in that. Would definitely recommend if you want to stay for one or two nights in Lucerne.
Overall is great, 10 min walk to train stationNo kettle but room have coffee capsules machinesWhich have hot water too.
I stayed here for 2nughts and 3 days. This is hotel is located in the center of Luzern.
Good location and nice cozy rooms. Staff was very helpful. Near to the main attraction chapel bridge, Luzern lake. Near to train station. Near by Indian restaurant mirch masala for Indian food. Also you can enjoy the Sun with some cool drinks next to Luzern lake. Everything just at a stone throw distance . They will charge you 4Chf extra per head for the visitor card, so do make full use of the free bus service and internet in Luzern as they are already charged to you.
Careful when booking! When arriving to the hotel reception, we were told by the reception staff that our reservation had been cancelled by the booking system, without us having any prior notice. The hotel staff took zero responsibility for our situation and had no interest in helping us. They told us it was an issue with Agoda (booking system), and that we should complain to them.Due to a lack of time, we ended up taking a really bad room at the hotel Magic, owned by them, for a higher price.I give two stars because the location is good and the lady at the check out was the only supportive person and gave us a discount, but overall a very unpleasent and draining experience.
Best location in the old town area. Window view is just nice!Need warmer if possible. Thanks for serving us.
Clean, comfortable, cozy room tastefully and efficiently furnished, equipped with everything you need, including a nespresso capsules machine and a fully stocked minibar complete with beer, wine and various soft drinks. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town in a beautiful old building. Staff was very friendly. What more could you ask for?
Swiss government brought in quarantine restrictions for arrivals from the UK and hotel wouldnt be flexible on any kind of cancellation or rescheduling of our booking, took full payment. I would be very wary of booking here if coming from abroad.
Even though the room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice, I cant look past the fact that there was leftover garbage in the bathroom bin and the knife given to me for breakfast was still dirty with jam.
The hotel location is perfect. Room is clean. The receptionist, Kier was very approachable and accommodating with our queries. Also, breakfast was very good, quite a lot of options to pick from and the breakfast waitress was attentive enough to remember our morning drinks. We had an excellent time!
Stayed two nights in August 2021. We had four people in our group, and the hotel had a room with four single beds that was perfect. Beds were comfy and we had enough room for our stuff and to relax after a few long days of walking all over Lucerne. No air conditioning in the room, but with the window open and fans on, we slept comfortably. Outside noise wasnt an issue. Staff spoke excellent English. Check-in process was quick and easy, and we parked the car for the entire duration of our stay with the valet service. Two nights was plenty of time for us to explore Lucerne, although Im sure there was more to see. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Dont be scared away by the breakfast price--its probably the cheapest "real" meal youll get while on vacation in Switzerland. You can eat at covered tables right on the old town square. It was magical. Attention Americans: the hotel has an ice machine! Location was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Lucerne.
It is good general for the price but must improve some things like the elevator that it is strange and very slowly. The room was clean properly and good. Mini bar things was expensive.
Booked a triple room for an end of January trip. When we arrived at night, the hotel had graciously upgraded our room to an apartment! The apartment is very spacious, has a kitchen, living area, dining area, spacious bed and bathroom with washing machine and drawer. Its located in the center of old town, 2nd floor (no need to worry, the staff will help carry your luggage upstairs).Best part is definitely the location. Located in the center of old town, you can walk everywhere, and I mean everywhere (to the station, lion monument, castles, the beautiful bridges). Located nearby also a bakery and department store, very convenient. Will definitely book the apartment if I ever travel to Luzern again.
Very authentic hotel. Awesome location. Historic building nicely renovated. Staff is excelent. Breakfast is the best. Room is very comfy. Location is outstanding with square with fountain just outside
Very nice hotel and super well located. For about €27 you can have your car parked all night. The room itself was very comfortable and very clean. The guys at the reception were very professional and helpful when needed. We highly recommend this place if you manage to get a good price.
It was a very cozy place with an excellent buffet spread. The chocolate bars at the breakfast buffet was a treat for the kids as they cud binge on them galore.. The staff was extremely polished and prompt. Loved the stay and kept wanting for more!!
This hotel was in a great location and the room we had (a 4 person roomwas spacious and clean. The downside of this hotel is the noise in the square. Not only the tourists being loud into the night, but also the recycling and street cleaning that starts around 6am each day. This is not the place to stay if you want a restful vacation or are not morning people. Its great for proximity and walk-ability to all Luzern has to offer.
Had a great stay!! Expensive for sure, but I guess thats just Switzerland in general. So cant knock it for that. I needed to call my hotel in Germany I was going to after this to tell them something but I was having trouble calling from my room, and the lady at the front desk helped me use one of their hotel phones and got me in contact with them and everything went very smoothly overall! Amazing place to stay, especially given the location. Definitely recommend.
Solid hotel in a tremendous location. Staff was friendly and room fully met expectations. Elevator is very small. Accommodating regarding storing bags during the day, but no separate closet or secure space.
This hotel is a group of Old Town Lucerne Hotels. In pedestrian area, But allows cars to drop off/ pick up passengers and luggage, but you have to park away from the hotel. 8 minutes walking. If you have no car, it is close to main train station. Old Town in neat to walk around, cobble stone streets and lots of shops and places to eat. Hotel itself is clean, but rooms are unremarkable. A place to sleep, comfortable beds. 2 large beds for my family of 4 - 2 adults 2 children. It is quiet. Reception / check in was smooth, no problems. Valet parking is reasonable price, but I prefer to park myself.
Great location. Close to public transportation. Easy walk to the waterfront. Excellent breakfast that will make your day. Our room was very nice and well kept. Mattresses too soft for us, but we were walking a lot. Very kind staff who were extraordinarily helpful with our trips/hikes.
The hotel is lovely and so is the staff. We were fortunate to have arrived during an intense heatwave which is uncommon for Switzerland. We very much appreciated the fans that were provided as they were essential for a good nights rest.Breakfast was delicious and also appreciated.
After arriving a few hours earlier than expected, the hotel staff allowed us to keep our bags so we could explore Lucerne while our room was getting ready. We came back to check-in and were pleasantly surprised that our room was the one at the top with its own roof top terrace that overlooked the old defense walls in town. The room was spacious and clean and the view from the terrace was amazing! Great location as it’s walkable to everything in town. Would stay again!
The location of this hotel is excellent for seeing Luzern. The room itself was very stark - it was clean and roomy, and completely adequate, but there were no pictures on the walls, and it was very austere.Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
We had a great stay here. The location is right in the heart of Old Town and convenient to the train station. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. The view out the front windows of the hotel is beautiful with the open square and fountain. The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was good (although not included in the room price). Only downside was street noise on weekday mornings, and rooms were not very sound proof.
I traveled here in the beginning of April with 3 others and really enjoyed our time in Luzern. Our room was spacious and each person had their own bed. We all slept very well and loved the location. Luzern is on the smaller side and this hotel was located a block away from the river and the minutes from the Chapel Bridge! I would stay here again.
The location could not be better. We could walk to everything including the train station. We were in the heart of old town and could stroll around in the evening without worry. Our room was very nice and clean. Thee bed was very comfortable. The front desk personnel were helpful. The weekend noise from late nite people leaving the bars and restaurants was horrible and did not settle down until 3am. And sad to say, I found the food in the breakfast area was very expensive so we ate out after the first morning. All being said, if you can put up with the noise it was a nice place to stay.
This hotel is very nice and appealing, and is in a great location! Our room of 4 single beds was big enough an has a double sink, so that was great! Staff are kind and helpful. The only issue I have with the hotel is the lack of AIR CONDITIONING! This is a problem as it was rather warm in Luzern on July 2! We opened the windows, but there was a fair share of flying bugs and mosquitos at times ( not all the time thoughWe were able to get extra fans, so that made it tolerable. I highly recommend this hotel, as long as you are not traveling in the middle of summer. This is the only reason for the loss of 1 star in my review.
This Hotel is charming and the location is walkable to everything in Luzern. We drove a car so it was a bit challenging to reach the hotel as it is in a restricted traffic area but the staff valet parked our car and had it ready right away when we departed. The beds were clean and comfortable and the room (we had a triplehad plenty of room for us. Accommodating staff and very family friendly. We enjoyed it very much.
Just a few comments on the maid job. There was a sticky stain on the floor in front of the minibar and the hand soap in the restroom was finished.Other than that the room was clean. Located right in the old town. The windows should be sound insulated or if it is should be better than now, as at night, we can hear all conversations from the square in front of the hotel; whether it someone talks on the phone, waiting for friends, guests with wheeled-luggage at night. The sound echoed through all the square and up to our room.Nice and large room, good shower and comfortable bed.
Very large room, big windows and very clean. We had a great stay very friendly service and breakfast was especially good. Bright sunnies rooms, well heated and really good bed. Located in the middle of town we could walk every easy. I highly recommend!
Great location. Everything is walkable within city limits and trams, buses and boats handle your needs further out. Clean and comfortable room accommodates our four adults, which was the reason we selected this hotel. The weather was warm and we suffered a bit with no a/c. Fans only.
This hotel was very nice! It is in the middle of the old town section, lots to see and do within walking distance. The breakfast is included and is pretty good. The only negative is that there is no air conditioning, and even with the small fan provided, the room got pretty stuffy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Great place to stay in the old town part of Luzern! Hotel was spotless with all the things you could need in the room. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxing with outdoor seating in the cobble stone plaza overlooking a nice fountain. Front desk both at check-in and check-out was very helpful and courteous making our visit that much more better. Thank you Hotel Krone!
Nice clean room and bathroom. Buffet breakfast was fantastic, location is too good. Only downside was, it was too hot when we visited and ventilation wasnt good in the room. So it was bit humid and hot in the room,. They provided a small table fan and it helped. But overall nice comfortable stay except the hot weather part.
