Altonlea Lodge in Middlesbrough

Just had a couple of nights here and it was fantastic. We’ve stayed in “pubs with rooms” before and they are expensive and often noisy. This was the opposite. Fantastic location, comfortable bed, secure parking, and the friendliest of hosts. It felt like we were old friends despite this being our first stay. Very happy to recommend and intend to stay again next time we are “up north”.

We came the beginning of July for a weeks holiday, what an Amazing guest house, lovely and clean and the staff are so friendly. Breakfast is beautiful. Just a beautiful place to stay.

Lovely family run hotel, clean and beautiful relaxing garden. Both myself and my disabled brother loved it. Catered very well for my brothers disabilities and we couldnt ask for a more relaxing couple of days. Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Very nice location, you have Bus from 7am to 7pm just in front and a lovely beach

Wonderful family run b&b. Rooms are clean and welcoming as are Lee Olwyn and Tony. The breakfasts are fab and the hotel is nicely placed for the beach and visiting the historic dockyard and other sites. Excellent walks too

Grand service here and just off the sea front. If youre interested, its about a 5 minute walk from where John & Anne Darwin lived.Lee & family will make you feel very welcome and the rooms & food are great value for your money.Lovely walks to the town and there are some shops on the seafront.

Lee was friendly and helpful, he gave us some good pointers on where to look for sea glass. Breakfast was delicious. Room was ultra clean and comfortable. All the staff supporting Lee were polite and cheerful. Definitely excellent value.

The Altonlea Lodge, provided us with a comfortable, clean and very friendly place to stay on our 3 night mini break to Seaton Carew. Stayed in room 4, overlooking the Green with a sea view. The Hosts are very friendly and accommodating and provide a wonderful breakfast, (which they will adapt to any dietary requirement.The double room with ensuite was spotless and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was cleaned and generously stocked every day with tea coffee making facilities. Would happily recommend this Guest house to others and hopefully we will stay there again.

Stayed for 2 nights with my 3 young boys. Hosts were very welcoming and attentive. Such a lovely place to stay! We all felt very welcome. Rooms were spotless and very homely! Definitely recommend! Breakfast was delicious too. Will most definitely be staying again. Thank you for accommodating us ❤️

Nice room great location.

Nothing was too much trouble, and everyone was so helpful. Im a bit finicky about food, but everything here was great - best poached eggs Ive ever had.

My partner and I have just spent 2 days at the altonlea lodge what a fantastic place a little hidden gem.lee the host gave us a warm welcome we had my partners mam and dad who both needed assistance which lee was more than happy nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was superb the rooms spotless bright and homely. The terrace and garden added a beautiful place to sit and relax.overall we couldnt find fault and would recommend this place to everyone

Fully deserved 5 stars! Everything about my 5 night stay at Altonlea was perfect. Lee was extremely welcoming, always available and provides an excellent service. Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and theres a great choice available. The Altonlea is perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from the good choice of local eateries. Thanks to all at the Altonlea for making my stay so comfortable.

Lovely place to stay and a lot more spacious than yould think. Stayed a few nights, very comfortable, with a nice breakfast.

What an amazing nights stay. We where welcomed by Lee. Who took our bags and showed us to our room. He made sure that we knew what time breakfast was. We went down for breakfast and it was amazing. Husband had poached eggs on toast, I had beans, sausages, and brown toasts. Fresh brewed coffee, and fresh orange juice. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We cant wait to come back in October. Came up for Nans funeral. We had a comfortable nights sleep, we got an upgrade to a king sized room as we where staying in a double in the outside.

This is a fabulous place to stay. I’ve stayed in many hotels and BnB’s, Alton Lea ranks as the best I’ve ever stayed in - by far. Faultlessly clean, the breakfast is brilliant, and most of all the service provided by Lee and his team is absolutely spot on. Really made me feel welcome and provided that home from home feeling. Nothing was a problem for them and I can’t recommend them highly enough. THE BEST BED AND BREAKFAST ON THE PLANET!!!

Fantastic guest house on a picturesque Victorian/Edwardian green in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool. The Bryan family run the Guest house and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. The cooked breakfast (made by Leewas one of the best Ive had, good quality and plenty of it, set us up for the day. The rooms were clean and modern and the bedding was crisp and felt brand new. They were excellent with our twin boys who are two years old (as a bit of a handful). There was a brand new playground with fountains opposite the guesthouse on the beachfront which the twins absolutely loved. The place has bags of character and is beautifully maintained which I imagine takes considerable time and effort. Nice to see proprietors taking such pride in their business.In summary, lovely place, immaculately clean, comfortable, great breakfast, easy with children and run by a lovely family. Will definately return. Thank

Great guest house only £48 a night for ensuite double room with a fantastic breakfast (so much to choose from Was there for work reasons and only stayed one night, if it was down south where Im from you would be paying upwards of £80 a night. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

What a lovely guest house & Lee was so helpful when i arrived. He helped me with bus routes, parking, directions for driving and parking.Super comfy bed, my room was lovely, clean and quiet. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and absolutely delicious.Beach is less than a minute away.I would highly recommend this guest house.

Practically perfect in every way. Stopped two nights, breakfast was really good, wide selection. Literally one minute from beach. Lots of pubs and take aways nearby. Has a residents lounge with big tv and comfy seats. If Im coming this way again, Ill stop here.

Antonlea Lodge is a first class location to visit. The quality of the accommodation and the food provided was without fault. Add to this a genuine desire to provide first class customers services from the family members involved made our visit a real joy. Whilst there we visit Newcastle, a 50 minute train journey, and enjoyed many walks along the seafront and onwards into Hartlepool to visit the shopping area and the marine. Would have no hesitation in returning to visit Antonlea Lodge.

I cant remember the amount of times Ive stayed at Altonlea, but i do know that on every occasion i was very satisfied with service and hospitality i recieved. Its a proper home from home. The excellent breakfast is both tasty and plentyful with a great choice of foods. I know that i will be back, for sure.
