Alqantarah Restaurant - Middle Eastern restaurant in Ma'an, Jordan
Excellent hospitality and good food 🥘
Ive been traveling throughout the Middle East for the last 2 months and this is the first Buffet I have encountered that I wanted to eat. The owner, who looks like the movie star Andy Garcia but goes by the nickname Al Pacino, has put together a clever array of Cuisine from different cultures and has presented them quite well. Everything I ate was extremely delicious and all of the staff was quite amicable. The owner himself is generous and friendly. So after a long day of hiking through Petra, dont go to one of the overpriced pizza places right outside the gate. Instead, take the time to find this place and make the trek up the hill. Youll be glad you did.
Very good food. Very nice people.
So much to eat... delicious 😋
We did buffet lunch here which was reserved by local travelling agency. When we approached restaurant, our seats were reserved and were available. Food was ready. Extensive variety of salads, main course and desserts were placed. Most of the food was Arabic and 🇵🇰 dishes. Services were good and taste was also good.Acceptable environment. As we were group of 45 persons, most of the people have to wait for their turn while using rest rooms.
tasty foodServe buffet style. Full of options for vegetarian and vegan food as well as meat. Very tasty and varied. The place is clean and the service is very good
I like here. The food was tasty, the choice for both salad and second course was sufficient. The sweets are interesting and delicious. There were no fruits. The price was only 10 dinars.
Very good buffet with some tasty local options like Kousa Mahshi.
I am not a picky eater. I do not give places bad reviews. I could not find a single digestible food there, worth mentioning we were brought there as a tour deal they probably made with our guide because we were not given another option of choosing where to eat. It was also the most expensive meal on our trip so yea that doesnt help aswell. Also got bad stomach
Very wonderful and beautiful, the people present treat them elegantly, the place is safe, attractive and quiet, everyone is good, and the sessions are of an old nature
Best place to eat. Very kind staff, we always had seat under the air conditioner. Second time we eat there we got free drink. A lot of different kind of food, local and continental too. Salad bar is enormous and there are a lot of desserts and melon. Nice place from the outside and inside too. Price is really good.
First time eating Mediterranean food and I loved it. Its a beautiful place, good service.
-Food is just perfect-Low salt everything and you can add (good thing)-Water is cold 🤩🤩-Chairs super comfortable after a 5km walk in petra-Great waiters-cool shaded place
It was amazing service and quality food we enjoyed it.
Very nice staff and good food! Especially when you are hungry! The all you can eat buffet is authentic and nice! We paid 12 JOD each which was absolutely fine!
Food is on a next level in this restaurant!Highly recommend!
We were two persons from Germany and asked whether we could get the half buffet for the half price, they invited us for a complete proper buffet. We highly recommend the food as its clean and yummy and very cosy😇
One of the best place where to eat in Petra. Good dish
They have a good buffet .. the restaurant has nice looking old past befowin and now .. Enjoy
Huge buffet, with tasteless main meal dishes: Beef balls in a tomatoes sauce (mistakenly eaten, and was bad- no seasoning to the meat or sauce), spaghetti (noodles tasted old, no seasoning again), mashed potatoes (? random, but tasty), chicken and rice (poor seasoning). Cold appetizers— abundant selection of salads, but again quantity over quality. So so bland. Dessert was pretty good— again many things to try, but I just had a smallspoon of flan.Service— very kind, accommodating, happy and fun staff members!Presentation- very nice.Clean and spacious, pretty exterior.Food- bland bland bland, no seasoning, didn’t taste fresh random main meal choices, just not tasty. Quantity reigned.Tourist-centered.10 Jordanian/pp for buffetWould not eat here again or recommend to others.
The food was very tasty. It cost 10 JD for all you can eat. Recomand.
Excellent variety of food on the buffet. Very tasty too. Can accommodate large groups. Very friendly staff.
Revising my initial review. We went a day later at a time closer to noon and the difference was night and day. Delicious hummus and mixed chicken and veggies. Don’t go too late in the afternoon or the food is not fresh.
Good food, good ambience. Recommend this be your stop before or after a trip to Petra as the food in the Petra tourism area is overpriced and not as high of a quality.
Good food, clean facilities and nice interior.
A really nice place with a good vibe. our buffet menu got a lot of choices, food quality and taste is above average. so so yummy.service was attentive and swift. seating area is also enough for more than 100 pax on the first floor not to mention the second floor.washroom and toilet is clean.
It will be better if they serve coffee or hot tea
There is an open buffet. Its a self service restaurant. The waiter comes to ask you whether you would like to drink something.Theres a big variety to choose from. There was a BBQ and quite a few dishes for vegetarians/vegans. The toilets were clean. The reason I put only 3 stars it is because of the flies there were everywhere. Many plates on the Buffet were open and the flies were swarming.
This restaurant has a rustic ambience and is just about okay for a stop after a day of sightseeing. Food was in buffet style and plentiful, but not of very good quality. They cater to the tourist trade and thus, dont expect quality.Finding a table is difficult, specially during lunch time. Thankfully, since we were traveling alone and not part of a group we found a table for two easily.Food was colorful, with a lot of salads and desserts. The main course was just okay with a meat dish and a number of vegetables with rice, noodles and some breads.I was looking forward to the dessert section and had taken a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, they were all terrible and tasted the same! Sort of a sweet mould, in different colours. Will definitely never be going there againThe washrooms were atrocious, with a 3 feet mound of used tissue on the floor! It looked like no one had cleaned it since the morning.
Very nice etnic atmosphere, tasty food
A very reasonable place for food. Nothing special. Food was ordinary. There was 4 main dishes, 3 of masala and 1 of rice, but non of the dishes weref worth the taste. Salads were good and with variety. Also not a great deal of sweets.Apart from that the meals cost estimate 10 dinars per person. The host was very friendly helpfull and coorporative.
Expect buses to drop of a load of tourists here, as it did with our group. We arrived fairly late and were after a while alone upstairs to try our hand at cooking. Was a fun experience with plenty of great food to eat afterwards. The salads in particular were fantastic.
Very nice restaurant with very good food.
The restaurants food was very good and the ambience was very cool.
Were taken here by our guide for local food and it was great. There was so much and we hated not eating it all but were told it was okay not to eat it all. Great friendly staff happy to explain all about what we were going to eat.
Wonderful place to dine and share the lovely delights of the Arabian culture in Jordan.
Buffet-style restaurant near Petra. They offer a retro interior with many old days photos of Petra to bring nostalgic and classic vibes. This place also has a good wifi connection and a nice staff service. For the food itself, they have various menu ranging from appetizer to desert which quite friendly with foreigner taste.
Best food and quality service in Petra. Fixed menu us delicious and very well served with vegetarian options 👌🏻
It’s a bit cold in the winter and they don’t offer menu but a lunch/dinner set for 12 JD per person. The food is ok but nothing really special.Wouldn’t reccomend.
Good food.... nice place.... excelence restaurant
As we were seated the waiter came and told us what was on a fixed menu, salats, falafel, two jordainan traditional meals and desert. It costs 12 JD and drinks are separate. The salads were good, but falafel was very bad, cold, dry, not what you expect in an Arab country since its staple food here. The main course was ok, but nothing special, made previously and heated up for serving. It tasted bland. The dessert is a simple harrisa cake, which was also a let down.So basically, this restaurant makes simple food for large groups, so if you are looking for a mediocre meal, this is a place for you. If you are looking for a true arabic cuisine, look further. In the end, when I said that the falafel was bad and explained why, we were told that it was one hour old (falafel is eaten fresh and not served coldand got smiled upon by the waiter and his boss. There is definetly better places to spend your 12 JOD.
We had our buffet lunch at Alqantarah Restaurant before we head to Petra. The restaurants architectural design is good and interior’s great for a photo op. The staff are very attentive and there’s a variety of food to choose from.
Friendly place, offering ethnic experience and good choice of buffet food.
Good food and nice Ambience, having a lot of variety middle east menu, staff are very friendly
Excellent buffet lunch, one of the best meal i have in jordan. Its like having your meal inside a cave. Have lunch there if U R going to Petra, reccomended
Ive come to this place on an overnight trip with my friends. The food was excellent! Every one there is so sweet! They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. The food here is delicious, and the theme and design gives me such a brave feeling of Petra since it is around there. Very recommended
Taste was delicious..but need to add praying room.. visited this place on the afternoon, and theres no place to pray
Nice place, fast service and delicious Sajeyeh
The food of the buffet was decent but not spectacular. You pay 10 JD for that which is acceptable because you are near Petra. The biggest theft though and this is why the review is negative is that they charge you 2 JD for any drink you have. Even for this touristic place, this is a robbery. 1 JD would have been a lot, 2 is plain robbery. This is not the Mövempick!
Very good food! Nice place to have lunch
