Aloha Poke Co in Minneapolis

Pretty solid. I like it better than Hawaii Poke. I was surprised to see it rated so low, but reading through the 1-star comments I see that nearly all of them aren’t in regards to the restaurant food, staff, price, cleanliness, etc. Many appear to be reviews citing other reviews and not even their experience. They’re from a bunch of self-righteous individuals pushing the same false copyright/appropriation agenda. One individual even changed his rating from his “research” based solely on others posts. How dumb and lazy are people? The narrative is false.

After seeing all of the other posts about the company suing proper Hawaiian businesses over their name, I am changing my review to let people know that the ownership is trying to use their corporate muscle to try and push small shops out of the market. Not a good look.

One of the best sushi bowl locations in the downtown skyway. Abundant selection of ingredients for anyone who wants to personalize their meal. Make sure to get a big bowl youll regret it if you get the small!

This place punches above its weight in terms of value. Excellent food, fast, and doesnt kill you with price. Especially for fresh fish, this place is an excellent skyway lunch spot

I absolutely love Aloha Poke. It has amazing food and amazing customer service. I grab lunch there 1-3x weekly as it is a short walk from my office. The poke is always extremely fresh and the portions are generous for the price. While the lines may look long (usually around noon), they always move extremely fast as the employees are very efficient at taking orders and making food. And I truly look forward to stopping for lunch there because the employees are so friendly— always greeting me with smiling faces and they even remember my name/order. It is definitely my favorite lunch spot. The only thing that could make my experience any better is if Aloha added cilantro to the menu.

Ive always walked by here and was scared off by how the menu looked. If you keep walking by here wondering if the food is good its definitely amazing and the staff couldnt be any more friendly. They will tell you exactly what to order if its your first time and they know exactly what questions to ask to get you the right experience!

Amazing, clean food. Great service. The woman at the cashier (African-American with short blue hairwas super helpful and assisted us in finding the perfect meal since it was our first time eating there. HIGHLY recommend. We were in awe at how they could make healthy food taste so damn good. Definitely returning.

Food is decent, but counter service was miserable. The kind of service where the counter person seems bothered that you came to order something, then gets snappy when you dont understand her right away. I wont be going back.

A great fresh healthy fast food option!

Had the Hot Link and Pulled Pork Sandwich. It was the February special and Im glad I got it. Savory pulled pork topped off with a buttery-smoked kielbasa link nestled between two pillowy buns. I had fries and fried okra (cant take the Southern out of me). The okra is fantastic. Laura was my server and did a wonderful job. A tip on the hot sauce...The hot in my opinion is mild to medium in strength and I can understand why a restaurant would under state the strength for safety.

I saw a food special about some poke bowls in Hawaii and I thought I would try it out. So I looked up poke bowl places in Downtown Minneapolis and I saw this place had multiple locations around the country and good reviews on yelp.There were about 4 people in front of me, but it only took a few minutes. I ordered the big bowl and volcano style (seaweed, edamame, jalapeno, ginger and tobiko, which is flying fish roe. Volcano sauce is chili and ponzu mayo.Mixed greens and marinated tuna.

Enjoyed it a lot. Good food and value.1 star reviews mostly unrelated to restaurant.

AWesome sauce. Came here with some friends. Just as good as when I was in Hawaii for a couple years.

Prices are reasonable, you can pick as many toppings and sauces as you want, and they give a generous amount of fish. They have all the best poke toppings, like avocado, masago, and seaweed salad - and there is no additional charge for any of these, unlike some other poke places. You can get your fish either naked, marinated or a mix of both. I cannot praise this place enough! If I worked or lived downtown, I would eat here multiple times a week!

Prices fair and bowl was good. Would have preferred fresher fish but service and knowledgeable staff made up for it!

The menu has unique foods and everything we tried was very tasty. The ambiance is nice and unique in a cool historic building. The service was great! Its pretty busy so reservations are good to have.

Delicious poke bowl, relatively quick even during the lunch rush

First time here and I really enjoyed it, the large bowl is big enough to get full but not too full. It was recommended to me by my wife who loves it and I guess now I am a fan of it too. I did wish they had more cooked options for meats but otherwise, it was flavorful and fresh.

The food here is sooooo good. I’m not usually a fan of poke but the marinated ahi tuna + the aloha trimmings are just epic.

A Chicago company that takes legal action against Hawaiian companies with the name Aloha in it, is NOT PONO (righteous). They clearly dont understand what is Aloha. I will not support such hypocrisy.

The poke here is delicious. If you use ritual, it is also an incredibly fast way to pick up a first class lunch.

Not only does their food not represent poke at all, their owner does not represent aloha. They legally applied for a trademark for “Aloha Poke” and are actively going after small native shops with similar names that have been going for much longer. They issued an “apology” that basically says sorry not sorry. Do not patronize this business. There are plenty of alternatives. This place needs to shut down.If this wasn’t enough to stop you, check out how they run their social media pages. Any negative commentary or negative emojis on their posts results in an instant block. They are hiding the negative impact of their actions and deleting comments in an attempt to cover up the terrible things they have done. This company misuses the Hawaiian language, makes terrible faux “poke”, and they are stealing an entire culture for their aesthetic. Need I say more?

Decent and fast. Typical poke bowl prices. Clean ambiance. One of the better poke bowl places around, so I dont mind coming here for lunch breaks from time to time.

This is for the Woodbury location. Loved my crunchy salmon bowl. I think it is pretty expensive for what you get but would say its the best poke place I have been to so far in the cities.

This place is straight trash. Watered down garbage for Murcians. Tastes nothing like the poke I had in Oahu. Fish texture wasn’t right, I threw my bowl away after two bites and got Naf Naf grill instead. Go to Your local grocer for better poke with better prices.

Dang, I really wanted to eat here before seeing Hamilton at the Orpheum tonight, but I cant support the evil actions of the owners. Too bad. Hopefully a new Poke shop will open up in its place.

Tyler Scott, I suggest you research the trademark matter further. You’ll see that the company’s law firm indeed sent businesses owned by local Hawaiians a demand to cease and desist from not only the use of the combination of words “Aloha poke,” but also the word, “Aloha.” If you find spiritual nourishment from a company that operates in such a bullying and exploitative manner, that’s your right-but please don’t misstate the facts. I, for one, cannot condone the company’s practices, and thus will not be eating here.

Fantastic food, had it in Colorado and was super excited to see that we have one in Minneapolis! We had to make a trip here the next day for lunch.

Delicious but way over priced for the amount of food you get

This restaurant doesnt know the meaning of Aloha or Poke for that matter. Minuscule portions, inauthentic ingredients and flavor pairings, and a weird totally un-Hawaiian vibe. Comparing poke in Hawaii to this establishment left me confused and a little angry. Will not be returning.

I ate here once. It was fine. You know what isn’t fine? Cultural appropriation. I will be encouraging everyone I know to boycot this establishment until they apologize for their gross behavior towards actual Hawaiian poke shops with Aloha in the name. Capitalism is the worst.

Here is a business that forces poke shops to rebrand, and at their own expense, because the haole owner decided trade mark two words from another culture’s language. And for anyone that is thinking “that’s just business” or “it’s totally legal and that’s how things work”....Just because something is legal doesn’t make it right.

Its one thing to appropriate another culture, it is quite another to threaten to sue people from that culture with a lawsuit if they continue to eat foods traditional to their culture.

This company has trademarked its name and is suing small Hawaiian stores also using the words Aloha and Poke. This is cultural appropriation at its worst. Please boycott this store.

Contrary to the other reviews, Aloha Poke is not really sending Hawaiian families and villages cease and desist letters for using the words “aloha” and “poke”. They trademarked the name “Aloha Poke”, the words together. So they have the legal right to that name of a restaurant or food.That’s how trademarks work. You can’t go just starting a business named I Love Donuts and then send cease and desist letters to everyone using the words donut or love in their donut store name, it doesn’t work like that. Aloha Poke has better things to do than waste their time with that.Been here 5-6 times, Aloha Poke is my soul food. It’s healthy, filling, colorful, and there is a wonderful African American woman who works by the counter who is very helpful and a hard worker. I’ll be back again and again, open one out here in Plymouth/MG!

The white ownership of this Chicago-based company is sending cease-and-desist letters to Hawaiian-owned poke shops all over the country telling them they cant use the word "aloha" in their branding. Class-A appropriative scum bags.

The service is good if you are looking for fast and friendly. It was a satisfying healthy lunch. You choose how you want it (poke is raw tuna, salmon, or tofuand the make it really quickly for you. It was delicious. The bowels are narrow and deep. Makes it a little hard to eat but worth it.

The ingredients were fresh and delicious and the sauces were tasty as well.

I dont eat seafood or tofu, but I wanted to give this place a chance as Im always looking for new and fresh places in the skyways. I built my own bowl with rice, most of the vegetables and the sesame vinaigrette sauce. It was absolutely delicious and filling. I was pleasantly surprised that by going no poke or tofu I was able to get the big bowl for the price of the little. All of the vegetables were fresh and had great flavor. I highly recommend!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Delicious healthy food (not an oxymoronwith fish and veggies cut fresh daily. Convenient (its so speedyskyway location and super friendly staff! I can and will eat this every day for the rest of my life.

I love poke and was excited to see this place open! Super fresh ingredients and a wide variety of toppings + sauces to choose from. Highly recommend!
