Almere Jungle - Animal park in Katwijk aan Zee, Netherlands
Almere Jungle in Katwijk aan Zee
Description
Privilege
Really nice place to visit with family. My 2 year old daughter is very happy today. The park is not big, my daughter is quite small, we stayed for an hour. There is a cafe to rest as well.If you want to take public transportation, there is a bus from Almere Center, but its only available every 2 hrs, so need to count the time really well.Buy e-ticket is 1 euro cheaper, but need to choose a time slot, we just bought the ticket when we arrive there.Veel plezier!
MoreWasnt too busy on a sunny Saturday, but was very, very hot inside. Pre-booked tickets with a slot online. The place is quite small, I was with 2 kids and I think we took around an hour-hour and half to see everything. It was nice to be able to feed the fish and turtles. Not a 5 star because honestly, it was just a little smaller than I expected and I wasnt too pleased with paying a full entry for a 2y old when most places let them in for free. That being said, its not a bad place at all and kids had fun. We probably spent same amount of time outside in the cafe (sandpit!as we did in the zoo ;).
MoreLovely place, not too expensive to go with the kids. It’s nice that you can see the animals up close and possibility to feed them. It’s a good place to go for max. 2 hours.
MoreAs the name suggests its a cute little jungle with few animals within enclosure and some outside. Easily kids love to spend time and enjoy with family and friends.
MoreIts a nice, cozy, small zoo. Very warm and with high humidity. Id say better for younger kids
MoreIts really niceMy girls really enjoyed there. Loved everything but just didnt like turtles water was not clean and there the place is small as there are too many turtles .
MoreGreat place to spend a day with family and kids.
Very nice place for kids and their parents. A lot of animals: llamas, tortoises, guinea pigs etc. The territory is big enough to have several zones, but doable to walk with toddler. We loved it very much, totally recommend for a family activity
MoreIts a relax place to go with the little ones and get a mini experience of a real jungle!
MoreBeautyful place ❤️ a lot od Animals and attraction
Great price for this awesome little park. You can clearly see and feel the love and thought that has gone into these animals and habitats. You can see everything in 90 minutes when taking your time.
MoreA nice place to visit with kids 🙂 real jungle atmosphere with lots of plants and various animals like parrots insects fish turtles snakes ect. 🐒🦙🐇🐿️🦡🦉🦜🐢🦎🐍🦖🐟🐛🐜🪲🪳🌺
MoreSurprisingly good mini zoo. Not that many creatures to see but there are many interesting plants and other small attractions here and there. Place is split up between region, and having travelled most of then myself, it really does transport you there.. Pretty cool.
MoreVery nice tropical plantsFishesSnakesTortoiseBirds etc etcPlenty of place to walk aroundGreat place to visit in a sunny or a rainy day 🙂
MoreLove the creative (naturalsetting and perfect climate inside. No need for coats during cold seasons. Kids can actually enjoy being kids and feed their curiosity in an educational environment. It brings out the kid in anyone!
MorePlenty of plants, plenty of animals, ranging from alpacas to tarantulas everything looks well taken care of, its a special place for people with a (mentaldisability to work and that makes it even more precious as they really enjoy it!
MoreVery nice venue with restaurants close by. Animals all in great condition! Surrounding area great for outdoor walks and activities.
MoreIts a very small zoo with very few animals. But there is a large collection of plants within the area. Though it is small, it is well and neatly maintained. You can spend an hour or two here. You can buy the feed for the birds, tortoise and fish at the entrance and the kids will enjoy feeding the little animals. Worth visiting once.
MoreFantastic value for money and a lovely adventure for kids and adults alike!
Nice little zoo with lots of animals!Reasonable price.Easy to park and find if you are already at De Kemphaan.
MoreLoved to visit Almere Jungle with my daughter. It wasnt too busy, really enjoyed having several benches along the way just to relax while watching the animals. Being able to buy food to feed some animals is really nice and having the bouncer for kids was a huge plus. Really easy to get there and with enough parking space nearby.
MoreIt is small but very enjoyable and interactive. My boys loved that most of it was indoors. Clean toilet facilities.
MoreSuch a nice spot for a sunny day out with family !
Nice place to visit. They really expanded it in the last few years.Main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the route is unclear. No signs to the exit.
MoreGreat place to spend the day looking at small animals & reptiles in beautiful rain forest type nature. Also a playground, Cafe, & gift shop all for $5.00 entry fee.
MoreAmazing place. There is a greenhouse with animals and birds, also an area for European wildlife. You can find a lot of exotic plants there with markers, touch rabbit and feed squarels. You will find great thematic merch in the end of your journey and price around 6 euro, 2020, per adult is perfect
MoreI initially went there with a friend because we were told they had some nice exotic animals, which is not something that I normally gravitate towards but I still decided to go with my friend. But damn the collection of exotic plants they had was fantastic! Flowering Monstera Deliciosas, huge cacti, orchids, begonias, hoyas, succulents and much much more! If you are into plants, please go have a look! Tickets were fairly cheap, not the best customer service to be honest but I still think it is worth a visit 👌
MoreAffordable price to see various animals from different continents. Theres also different kinds of plants and information about them. Make sure to buy tickets online beforehand and make a reservation as they dont sell tickets by the gate.
MoreGreat place to visit and see a good range of biodiversity. Reservations are required!
MoreVery nice place to visit with kids! Not too huge, but nice and cozy! Due to the fact how its built even with a lot of people it seems very nice place to walk around and see some animals!
MoreVery interesting place, warm, nice, exotic... For sure I come next time again! The coffie and brownie its also very good!
MoreGreat place to spend a couple of hours with your kids. I recommend this place of you like to distract your going kids and home is too small after a whole weekend
MoreOk for an afternoon but not too much to see if you expect a full size zoo.
Haven’t been there for 2 years, changed a lot, in good ways. Just had our daughter’s birthday party here. Was lovely. Proper instructions, and kids are able to touch the animals. The slagroom cake is tasty.
MoreLovely small animal zoo. I think the biggest animal there is, is a lama. Lots of birds and fishes, some insects, spiders and snakes (big snakes though). Its also in a nice environment, good for a walk. A petting zoo and a shelter for apes and monkeys are also nearby.
Morethe cafe has a decent amount of snacks and drinks. The area with animals has a 5,- p.p entry fee (used to help the animals and maintain the jungle I assumeis totally worth it because you get to see animals up close while walking through a well designed jungle-like environment. Nice experience for an afternoon activity :)
MoreGood place to go with kids. Not many variety but good forna short visit for a relaxation. Majority of the area is indoor so good for rainy day as well.
MoreLovely little zoo to visit for a few hours for the family. Animals looked generally healthy and happy and very green all around. Theres also spacious cafe with dedicated play areas for children. Only thing annoying was the many wasps hovering around the tables. But would definitely recommend a visit!
MoreI really loved this place, this is worth a visit and to sponsor. This place is run by volunteers. Its a good place to take kids and enjoy animals and tropical plants.
MoreI would call this a nice compact zoo, most of it is indoors so it is a perfect place when the weather is not ok ;). You can easily spend 1,5-2 hours looking at the animals. There is also a nice cafe where you can have a drink (also when you are not visiting the park). Perfect place for smaller children.
MoreI love this place. They take social responsibility as an animal shelter and offering disabled people a challange to work and participate. They came a long way and each year they improve things step by step.I noticed a lot more foreigners visiting during the summer season. Let hope that their next improvement will be to use symbols (clear to all visitorsand translations to German and English. 👍Price went up and has reached its limit of value for money therefore 4 stars. On Saturdays there is a small (biologicalmarket next door. You can also enjoy coffee/thee/juice and good apple pie. Small kids love to visit the cows here.
MoreReally nice place for the whole family. Its a miniture zoo with lots of smaller animals amoung which alpacas, chickens, racoons, meercats, turtles, exotic fish, exotic birds, giant rabbits, owls, purcupines and more. You can buy food to feed the animals which I recommend as it makes it a bit more interactive. There is a lot of information about the animals and where they come from. All animals also have cute and funny names. The ambience is really cool. Its all set up as a jungle and savanna etc depending on where you are in the zoo. There are many tropical plants too and everything is labeled so you can learn about them. They even have giant lilipads and a huge aloe vera plant (bigger than me). There is also a cafe inside and outside with play areas for children. There is an assortment of cakes and sandwiches available in the cafe as well as ice cream, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The entry fee is €6 which includes a donation to the zoo. I recommend this option as its a contribution to expand the place and support the animals which has happened greatly over the past few years. Every time I visit there is something new to see and experience. Almere Jungle is run by lots of people with disabilities and their coaches which I think is great as it gives these people work oppertunities and they can be creative. Ive heard many good things about it. Should you be interested in dagbesteding (children and adultsyou can contact them (see photos). Its located at Landgoed de Kemphaan which in itself is a amazing day out trip if you are a lover of nature, animals, hiking and strolling.
MoreCosy compact tropical themed zoo. Perfect for a family day trip. Large enough to be impressed by the many animals up close and small enough to be done in a day. Admittance is only 5 euros and most of the lack is indoors.Good for some quick bites as well.
MoreThe most toddler-friendly zoo we have visited. We spent a very pleasant few hours there on a rainy, winter day. The project is a sustainable effort for the good of everyone - the animals, the disabled people, the children and their parents. Wish there were more such initiatives in the modern cities.
Morenice place to visit, especially for children and kids. They have a nice bar with coffee, ice cream etc. If you go to the bar with the dierentuin ticket you will get a discount!
MoreAwesome cosy jungle place that cost you only 5€ p/p , you can buy small bags with food for three kind of animals :turtle/fish/chicken, these bags cost you only 0,50€ , you are not allowed to feed other animals and you should give the right food to the right animals. Many of the staff are friendly youngsters that have some kind of disability so it is great to see them take care of this magnificent place. There are 5 locations with different type of plants and animals. We will definitely go back here soon !
MoreA nice place to take young kids. Started as a glasshouse, but ever expanding to become a fun mix between a mini zoo and a childrens farm. And it serves a society conscious function in that it provides a sheltered work place for mentally and physically challenged young adults. Situated in the Almere city garden Kemphaan, it makes for a nice day out. Bring your dog and enjoy nature.
MoreIt is nice skansen when you can see some animals from jungle and other. U walk aroud flowers and u can feed turtles and fish
MoreLoved it! its cheaper than a full blown zoo but also smaller but the price compensates for that. What you get is worth it all its really like a little jungle perfect for kids as you can ask for food for the animals so you for example could feed the chickens! (Ps they eat out of your hands try itits recommended
MoreExcelente lugar para ver plantas, animales, restaurante y bosques. Its a great place to made a walk and enjoy nature. The Jungle Almere is great !
