Alma Historica Boutique Hotel in Montevideo

Fui a comer únicamente. Aunque visite varias habitaciones, que son temáticas y se ven en impecables condiciones.La atención es formidable y pasamos un rato muy ameno en familia. Muy buena propuesta gastronómica libre de gluten.

I am glad I found this hotel, it was such a gem. The rooms are gorgeous and clean, plus offer the guests some insight into famous Uruguayan historical figures. The breakfast at the hotel was also excellent, with the food being delicious. And last but not least, the staff at the hotel all were very kind and helpful. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a unique hotel.

Es una excelente propuesta, en mi caso reservamos unos de los menus que se ofrecen el comedor de este hotel boutique. La comida es excelente, luego ofrecen un pequeño recorrido por algunas de las 15 habitacions tematicas de que disponen. Cada habitacion esta dedicada a una figura del arte uruguaya, visitamos las dedicadas a Juana de Ibarborou, Carlos Gardel y Joaquin Torres Garcia. Cada habitacion esta decorada con algun objeto que pertenecio a las figuras homenajeadas. Las habitaciones son amplias y comodas, alguna con terraza propia con vista a la Plaza Zabala. En resumen una excelente propuesta, tanto hotelera como gastronomica.

Hotel is absolutly magical, with a deep retro feeling. The staff is super polite and social, really grate people. 😉👍

Un hotel boutique ÚNICO. Habitaciones temáticas con objetos reales de sus personajes que te transportan en el tiempo. Y una cocina gourmet muy destacada.

This unique hotel right in the city centre of Montevideo is beautiful and the location is the best part of it. Each room is uniquely decorated and inspired by someone local either an artist or writer or historical figure, with their info in the room as well as art or artifacts. The suite with balcony is my favourite room by far! Rooms are a bit small as it is a historical hotel, but have everything you need and you can walk everywhere especially to shops and restaurants!

Fuimos a una merienda en el hotel y fue espectacular.super completa,gluten free y exquisito todo! Lo salado y lo dulce. El servicio impecable, todo el personal muy amable,especialmente el chico que atiende las mesas y el de recepción.muy recomendable para ir a merendar! Por lo que ví en la recepción,la decoración del hotel es preciosa también,llena de detalles bien clásicos.

Very nice Boutique Hotel just across Plaza Zabala. This square is one of the most beautiful in downtown Montevideo, surrounded by XIX Century buildings and a very quiet place. The hotel is a fully refurbished XIX Century house featuring unique services such as taking tea in the afternoon and whisky after the theater or dinner at the library. In summer time at the roof top there is a jacuzzi available with views to the port. Rooms around 160 and 250 $ with breakfast included. Ask for Leonardo. He will guide you to the best.

This is the perfect boutique hotel. Service is excellent (especially Matiasand the location is great. I loved being in the heart of the historical district. The design is lovely, the rooms are large and well decorated and there is a cool library room where we drank wine and played cards, as well as a rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi. If possible get a superior room, as they’re huge with high ceilings and lots of light. Breakfast was tasty, we had eggs and croissants. It was quiet and we slept really well in the king bed. This is a classy place to stay.

We really had a great time at the hotel. Maria is wonderful and made this day very special for us. The breakfast was fabulous, the other guests were interesting, and the rooms are quite clean.

Meu irmão está hospedado no Hotel, e exatamente hoje no dia 26/04 as 05:30h ele foi furtado dentro do Hotel. Eles acordaram com um barulho no quarto, o ladrão estava no quarto fugindo com os pertences pela janela. Furtou os pertences que estavam na cabeceira da cama, enquanto eles dormiam.

Paguei pela hospedagem e chegando lá fui informada que não existia a reserva. Lidaram muito mal com a situação. Só tomaram providências quando disse que só sairia de lá com uma solução. Problemas podem existir mas a forma como a gerente Sônia lidou foi horrível.

Totally charming

Alma Historica Hotel @almahistoricahotel @almahistorica probably is one of the best hotels in the old town (Ciudad Vieja). And most likely its a hotel, where I would stay again if I needed to be in this neighborhood. However, there are existing problems with the housekeeping service and with the management of the hotel. I stay at this hotel many times and honestly nothing changes. They never change bed linens during the stay. The management states on a card placed by the bed that they change the bedsheets every odd day. I have stayed in the hotel for five days and the sheets have never been changed. This morning I especially left the card, which as well informs guest that if they prefer to have the linens changed, then place the card on the pillow, I neatly placed the card on the pillow. However, upon my return in the late afternoon to the hotel, the sheets were not changed with noticeable stains. It was obvious I should inform the hotel manager know about this ignored request. She [the hotel manager] said that the policy of the hotel is that the housekeeper checks how dirty the bedsheets are and decides whether its necessary to change them or not. Meanwhile, she is continuing telling, that regularly the bedsheets are changed after three nights. However, I repeat that for the fifth day of staying in that room the bedsheets never been changed. I try to explain to the manager that what she is saying now contradicts the rules that the hotel declares, which are clear described on the card (see pic). And such important requests of the guests, as the cleanliness of the bed, are ignored. This is nonsense. On provided pictures you can see the sheets with dirty yellow stains and the card which gives hopefulness to the guest that the guest is quality taking care by the boutique hotel. Since I spend time writing this review, I would like to note that for some reason there are not any glasses in the rooms where I stayed, meanwhile there is a mini bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. And there is no laundry services and no laundry bags in the room.

Una belleza de hotel boutique. En una vieja casa de Ciudad Vieja recuperada y mantenida parece por momentos q se viaja en el tiempo. También sirven te con reserva previa.

The decor is charming. Extremely noisy, every single noise can be heard.

Beautifully restored and appointed hotel, however the neighborhood may not be to everyones taste. Also unfortunately quite a lot of noise from both the street and the lobby.
