St Peters Church, Seel St, Liverpool L1 4BH, United Kingdom, Liverpool
Tapas, Latin-influenced dishes and cocktails in exposed brick, 18th-century church lit by candles.
DISGUSTING, This used to be a great place, since it was taken over the food is unedable. The chips and desert were frozen, steak not cooked as requested, floors and table were sticky and very run down. I will never be back, avoid at all costs.
If you are about fun in Liverpool you must check out this place. As you can they are only open in the weekend, Saturday from my point of view is very busy that the day before. But hold on tight, this might be the case sometimes that all weekend is busy.If it was allowed to post videos I could leave a sample here.Highly recommended 👍🏾
Love the vibe and musicGet a table if u can otherwise gets crowdedShow is fab
The booking process is insanely convoluted. Had to put down a £20 deposit for the gospel brunch. Restaurant was empty when we got there. The gospel singer was meant to start at 2 - she materialised an hour later; we sat through an hour of badly mixed pop songs interspersed with occasional loud bangs from the speakers before catching the beginning of her set which consisted of lacklustre covers of more pop songs. Food was incredibly expensive and entirely bland. Our server was lovely but the management standards of this restaurant has plummeted over the past year.Edit - my partner (who’s never had a bad reaction to a restaurant meal beforethrew up after. I’ve had a look at the site’s other recent reviews and this seems to have happened to a few people.
Our first time and we had so much fun! Lets start by saying that the bartenders are so friendly and they make such a amazing cocktels, too bad I didnt get the name of the guy that made us cocktails but he was lovely! Also we catch the seven sins show and wow ! The girls are such a beautiful ladies and great performance. Definetly a must go and see!!
Good amazing service amazing fantastic place x
Went on a night out. Dead moody, feeling like it could kick off at any moment just got looking at someone the wrong way. Would definitely avoid
Lovely place , Great Ambience food delicious, Would highly recommended x
Fantastic location. Went in during international Beatle week and it’s brilliant building with a great atmosphere
Absolutely brilliant, staff fabulous, my friends & I had a wonderful Afternoon tea & the dancer was very entertaining with the Salsa dances & fab costumes, I would definitely recommend this to friends and family, well done 👏
The bartenders were so enthusiastic and quick to serve, even with the bar being so busy. Plenty of seating area inside and outside.
One of my favourites bars in the world and ahve been in a few. Deconsecrated church, guid music, guid service - jist go and get it doon yer fat neck as if prohibition was about to be announced.
Very friendly staff who looked after you very well, accommodating to dietary requirements, great atmosphere with the music and dancing, great food especially the cakes, amazing dancers who made you feel special and involved you in their performance, absolutely loved it.
Ordered a steak roast dinner, meant to be served with all the trimmings, Yorkshire pudding and gravy! It arrived as steak and chips, completely not what said on the menu! We pre ordered 4 days in advance! We were also told on the phone it was Sunday service with gospel singers, but it was a live singer singing pop songs. Food was cold, just not the atmosphere it was when I last went 5 years ago! Very downhill, use to be one of my favourite places in Liverpool! For evening events and party vibes, it’s great, but absolutely not for a Sunday roast dinner! They offered us a 20% refund because none of our food was what it said on the menu!
Very disappointed, we had pre ordered for a group of 15 people & the food was over an hour late. Poor quality of food & drinks. Staff were very helpful & friendly but disappointing of the quality of food & drinks.
No cheese board ....and they wouldnt make one up for usBeen coming here for years for Sunday lunch and love the cheese board. ...so disappointed. The Sunday lunch is a smaller portion but okIts ok but looks a bit tired, sticky tables, toilets a bit shabby . Whole place looks unlovedStaff were good ...but wont bother coming again
Afternoon tea disappointing unless you have a sweet tooth..£29.95 + 20% service charge they forget to mention when booking...1 glass of procesco..sandwiches....couldnt really call them that..2xslices of wraps + 3 slices of rolls with various fillings..then cake cake and more cake...managed to collar a waitress for 1 extra cocktail £10 before our time was up. Luckily we had fun between us regardless
Excellent, food, drink and entertainment. Staff very friendly and a great atmosphere, what more do you want!
Samba Afternoon tea was the most amazing experience. 10 of us came for a 40th birthday and loved it! We even came back in the night and experienced the most spectacular performances. Thank you Alma De Cuba. Lisa
This place has really gone down, used to be quite nice, now its scruffy and dirty, food v average, staff working hard but not enough of them. Sticky tables, dirty cutlery.
Brilliant afternoon tea with a samba twist
Cocktails on a good deal, and absolutely divine. Definitely going back for more. Music and entertainment great, and the customers and staff were all in a fine mood. The inside has a wonderful atmosphere as it was a church, so its got a high ceiling, which makes it feel more spacious. Had a brilliant night out
This place has a wild party atmosphere and excellent DJ on a Friday night with ladies swallowing fiery swords and griding circular saws on their metal attire
Giving 2 stars for a great atmosphere and music but do not book a booth unless you can pick where to go! We were a hen party of 10 ans spent £500 on a booth to be put right by the toilets! The booth could only seat 6 people so some had to stand! Terrible service
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! GO ELSEWHERE!! we visited two weeks ago for a hen do and had the most disappointing experience. After travelling from Kent to Liverpool, we were greeted by rude staff, food that looked like cat food. Arrived 7.45 and left at 11pm after only having had 1 drink that we waited an hour to be served!!!!! Booked a particular table and on arrival they had no notes of this and placed on a completely different floor and type of table, with no apology!! Club was sooo crowded and the show was disappointing with a few girls on stage flapping some feathers around. We wasted our evening by going here and it completely killed our vibe! Such a waste of our time in Liverpool. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!
This was a good night and great entertainment but the food was plain overall and the prices were costly. Big place for big parties, but the atmosphere was right for our night.
We had the most amazing time on my hendo !The dancers were absolutely amazing !! Will definitely bo booking to come back !
Welcomed by an attitude-problem member of staff who complained that we arrived at 1625 and our reservation was for 1630. Inexplicable given that the dining area was empty until we arrived and was still empty when we left a few hours later.Another member of staff having a meal in the doorway doesnt give you the best impression either.Music blaring to the point where conversation was impossible. On the plus side, waiting staff and drinks were really good. Food was reasonable.Similar quality and prices available widely in Liverpool these days at other places, competitors have much better atmosphere and more professional staff.Dont really get what all the fuss is about.Decidedly average.
The vegan afternoon tea option was terrible, extremely dry sandwiches and wraps, the brownie was full of coconut which gave it a strange taste and a really awful texture, and instead of cakes there was a small amount of fruit which was really disappointing given that Id given notice ahead of time, and it cost the same amount as the other afternoon tea I really felt short changed. It took a long time to arrange the booking as I was promised calls to book and pay the deposit that didnt happen and I had to chase over and over just to get the booking made. The dancers were fantastic, lovely and chatty with us so that experience was good but I really would not bother with the afternoon tea option, its nothing special and in my opinion a waste of money. When it came to drinks we had to go to the bar to be served even though it was supposed to be table service, no one was coming over to us until it was almost time for last orders they came over once but that was it.
Amazing place we had so much fun. Bride to be in photo
We had a beautiful meal, drinks and cocktails for my sisters hen party last weekend, for 15 of us! The staff were brilliant & food was amazing & cocktails were lovely! Thank you Alma De Cuba!
UPDATE:Vegan roast was vegetarian, despite 2 staff saying it was vegan. So when the food arrived and I checked with a 3rd person, I found I was unable to eat it. They apologised sincerely and didnt charge me plus gave me some roast potatoes and veg for free. Was really disappointed and very hungry.Staff were very lovely. Obviously I wont eat here again, but will definitely pop in for a drink and the live music.f youre looking for something a bit different...quirky...even disconcerting, this is the place.Used to be a church in the 1700s and was owned by the diocese until about 15 years ago.Still looks like a church inside, but is now a bar/restaurant.Vegan Sunday roast available but I havent tried it yet.Church acoustics are perfect for the live singers every Sunday, who are amazing, might I add.
We had a fun time here with a large group, although be warned that the music is very loud! I use earplugs, otherwise probably wouldn’t have been able to stay for too long. The music was really fun though and it’s a great stop on a night out on Seel street. There’s a flower petal shower on the dance floor at 11pm which is quite cool.
Set in a old Catholic Church St.Peters.We booked for Sunday lunch with Gospel singers.Wow what a lovely understated place.I had the Sirloin Joint and my wife had the Chicken supreme both were superb. The Gospel singers were really good and added to the overall experience.Would definitely recommend visiting and we will certainly return when in Liverpool. The waitresses were also very good.
We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. The table staff were so lovely, chatty and friendly. My nephew was downstairs with his girlfriend and they even let them come up and sit at our table while we ate (they bought cocktailsI had the hummus and my main was the duck breast... It was absolutely gorgeous, cooked perfectly... Really great meal. We went downstairs to watch the show, which was great.. Only near the end of the evening the music got a bit samey but other than that we had a fab night... Would Recommend!
A group of us came for our Christmas dinner and was not disappointed. All of us throughly enjoyed the food 👌
Wow, wow and more so,1st time in here and on a skool night, loved it, great music and nice atmosphere.
Really lively place great atmosphere and the show they do is great. Staff very friendly and the food was good
Fantastic food and cocktails. A great place for a girls dinner and drinks. Customer service was amazing
One of the best meals Ive ever had. The squid was definitely the best squid Ive ever had. Service was excellent too. Absolutely worth a visit.
We were passing by looking for something to eat, luckily they had tables at the time. The staff were very welcoming. The cocktails are amazing! I always look for a perfect Pina colada and they did it! The whisky sour was strong but very nice. The food, from the starters to the dessert amazing!I wished we could have gone more while visiting Liverpool but there was not tables to reserve at the time.If we came back to Liverpool, well definitely reserve a table again.
Brilliant night out. Food was absolutely gorgeous and the music and entertainment was fab! Really good atmosphere in a lovely old chapel!
One of the best, if not, THE best club Ive ever been to. Highly entertaining, excellent dancers, Fantastic atmosphere, lovely drinks, great music, centrally located and open all hours. Cant recommend enough. Dont miss the petal drops at 11pm and midnight.
Lovely food, music and cocktails. Service was good. Meal was included in our stay at 30 James Street so menu was a bit limited and meal could have done with some veg but it was very tasty though.
We went here for Sunday dinner. It was absolutely delicious and a very good atmosphere. The gospel choir singing whilst eating our dinner was an excellent experience. Very nice food. A must do for a Sunday Funday. 😁
Interesting place for a dinner and night out. From the evening menu starters looks amazing I wish they were served in bigger portions as main. it looks like they do specialise in steaks a you can choose between 3 different one, if you are not a beef eater than you can order something else from the menu but rest of the food from the main menu doesnt look as exciting. Cheesecake was definitely interesting however base was too hard for a spoon to break it, I must have been looking like a ninja trying to break a brick with a karate chop 😂 and brownies are worth of trying. Nice variety of coctails that tastes really good. They do have a service charge which is a little bit odd and I wouldnt mind it if I would know that all those monies are given to the restaurant and bar staff. However service wasnt that good.. We ordered mains and dessert but cutlery for starters were only taken away after we ate main course. W have ordered steaks but we didnt get steak knives so we had to ask for them..
Great soul / gospel singers on every Sunday from 13:30. Very, very good. Drinks pricey, very pricey but there was an offer on certain cocktails 2 for £10.
I went here for the gospel brunch. We were served by an excellent team of staff who were great at getting everyones (somewhat pickyorders correct. I would have loved to have given this 5 stars but unfortunately we were very excited to take part in the gospel part of the brunch, but it seemed more like (really goodbackground music and could have been coming from a CD... Perhaps it is because we were upstairs? That would be my only complaint! The roast beef was delicious, and I requested some extra rare beef which came quickly with no extra cost. I hope to return again!
Lovely venue, great ambiance, nice cocktails, good service, but we felt it was let down by the quality of the food. It was all set up for an amazing meal, but my wife found bones in her flaked salmon which was dry and quite tasteless, and my pork sliders were cold. We had hanging chicken and beef for mains, but again these were quite dry, but tasty. Overall its a lovely place, but its a shame that the main show, the food didnt live up to expectation. It was a bit of a damp firework!
One of a kind!? Of course I havent seen everything around the world, but at least I can say that this place is one of very few that manage to nail the concept of fine dining AND clubbing - all under one roof (and in one room). Good food in beautiful surroundings, with great atmosphere and spectacular party after the dinner was finished. Highly recommended.
