Great hotel, some rooms bit tired but very clean. Excellent, helpful and friendly staff
Stayed for 2 nights had room 104 executive double room, everything was spot on with the room clean friendly staff especially the late night porter didn’t get a name but the oldish man with long hair was excellent! 🙂beds comfy room was very clean only 1 slight downside was the food wasn’t brilliant but it was okay would definitely stay again!
Clean welcoming WiFi, TV tea and coffee making facilities. Food excellent
Good breakfast, friendly staff but room was a bit tired and in need of decoration
Couldnt fault the rooms, service and food. The bedrooms looked newly decorated to a great standard. A couple of nice touches with complimentary prosecco and individual chocolate. Thanks guys!
Nice warm room, comfy bed and great breakfast
Set in time. but the food was excellent
Service and li action were wonderful. However the rooms were very tired and beed refurbishment. We were there foe 2 nights and the room wasnt serviced although we were asked if we needed any tea or coffee.
Helpful staff, very good location. Nice restaurant and bar.Rooms are lovely, but walls are very thin, so noise might be an issue at busy periods.
Great location just off the main road with plenty of parking. The rooms are clean, a decent size and very comfortable. Friendly staff, great breakfast. Really couldnt fault anything. Thank you
The room on arrival was very clean and well presented, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good, but more staff maybe are needed for the breakfast time as the member of staff who was on appeared to be on her own, and appeared stressed - she was doing her best, and I think could have had some help. The rooms are well presented, but dont seem to be attended to/cleaned daily.
Excellent location for stay in Northallerton. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Shower in particular was amazing - great water pressure and temp control. Even had some beautiful bunnies right outside the window...perfect!
On arrival the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and a very high standard. I stayed two nights to attend a wedding and everything from start to finish was fantastic. Food quality was excellent, would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking too stay in this area. Well done Allerton Court ☺️
Tired hotel in serious need of updating. Bed wasnt very comfortable. That said, rooms were clean and good breakfast.
had a great stay staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially night reception Daniel. For his excellent local knowledge and arranging taxi.would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the Northallerton areaEven has its own app sore the QR code in the gents lol
Check in was excellent . Room amazing clean everything you need .food was excellent. All the staff went above and beyond. Kim and Lewis and yasmin made our stay so special.
Went for a birthday meal with a lot of family, staff were very helpful, food was very good I would recommend
Nice breakfast, friendly staff, beds were a little too firm for my liking but overall a nice hotel
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Northallerton. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early. We got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there. I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Every staff member I encountered, from the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues!I have stayed at dozen of hotels in the area. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much. The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Please give your staff awards!Overall, I had a great experience with the staff were incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend.
I cannot comment on the hotel portion of the business, but I can comment on the restaurant of the hotel. Fantastic meal! I went for a Sunday lunch and all of the food quality was excellent. Meat was fresh, warm and delicious and all of the vegetables and sides were brilliant. Plates are large and staff encouraged us to go back up for more portions. Staff were friendly and approachable.I am going again soon and highly recommend going to the restaurant portion of the hotel.
We booked 2 rooms for my mothers 80th and the murder mystery on the night of 4th February. The reception staff were friendly and greeted us on our arrival. Our original room was not suitable and the reception staff immediately changed our room. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We will definitely stay again
Staff very warm and welcoming. Very accommodating. Excellent bed and room (108). Food and service excellent. I came with a party of 10 as it was my friends mums 80th suprise. We attended a murder mystery evening. Couldnt fault anything. Thank you for a great stay
Weird hotel. The second floor rooms are quite dated whereas the first floor are significantly more modern. Also a difference in commodities, complementary prosecco on first floor but not on second? Strange stuff and as I booked with a large group, we had two couple staying first floor and the rest second floor, but we all paid the same price. Needs second floor renovations or price reduction. We had to change room due to the bed being awful, they handled this really well and advised they would look in to he problem with bed. In short, in terms of customer service, they did their best for us. In terms of the room, clean for the most part although we did see some stains in the toilet and as mentioned earlier, weird disparities with the rooms between floors.
Outdated and in major need of some tlc! Beds are lumpy and uncomfortable, damp in the bathrooms! Dirty walls, doors and windowsills in both the rooms and corridors! Showers have no power and just drizzle water, pretty pointless really! Taps are too small for the sink...unless youre a child as adults cant get their hands under them properly! Carpets are full of stains too and really need replacing...or at least deep cleaning!!The Tea/coffee station in room was not stocked up before arrival. Had to ask for items for it at reception which seemed like a chore for them to do!Breakfasts were not consistent. Some days were cooked really well, others were under or over cooked!Staff were rude and made sniggering comments about guests as they passed reception. Whenever you asked for anything, it was always an issue. Its such a shame that its gone soo downhill. Prices need amending until you sort it out as youre charging waay too much for something thats worse than a budget hotel!!
Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is beging to show its age, rooms need a bit of tlc. Paint work flaking in bathroom, and and on furnishings. Food is good, and breakfast portions and staff happy to accommodate to requests. Dont expect to be able to eat at the hotel on a Sunday evening as no chefs work Sunday so your options are a local pub/restaurant or grab a takeaway. Cold water is cold, hot water is molten, but you get more water pressure from a super soaker water pistol.Found the sockets were warm to the touch but this may be becuase the pipes for the radiators run inside the containment for the electrical services.....Room was a good size, had to go to get fresh tea and coffee for the room each day but this was only due to covid and the room cleaning not being done throughout stay. Bathroom was a good size just dated. Overall lighting within the room could do with a review, as two small spotlights next to the window in the main area of the room doesnt overly illuminate the room to well. With modern times if you have a plug in car, you will need to park this in a local supermarket to charge it, as there are no facilities for this here.
Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. Would come here again definitely.
Lovely hotel, clean, staff friendly, in a lovely spot! 10 minutes walk into the town centre where youll find plenty watering holes and places to eat 😋 a much needed night away❤
Anyone wanting to book a wedding/party or occasion DO NOT BOOK WITH ALLERTON COURT NORTHALLERTON! We booked over 2 years ago for our special day, things were going well but we had to reschedule the date due to covid, the hotel has since been bought out and weve only received one letter in over 18 months! After constant back and forwards with this hotel not having a clue whats going on we havent been able to book anything for our wedding, they kept canceling wedding fairs for us to pick things and quite frankly been treated and spoken to like rubbish over the phone, on all honesty I dont think they even had our booking! We finally went for a meeting to be told that no one who we originally booked with was working there, they have a high turnover of staff, everything was completely different, and because we have been treated so appallingly we want our deposit money back, they point blank refused as we booked with the old company, and to take it to court. They did not give us any information on who to contact, they only told us the companys name, no contact information ect, no apology at all, they just kept saying oh we understand your frustration, but do you understand though!? The only options we got was to continue with the new company which quite frankly would have been nothing we originally planned, we would have to change our day or loose £500 deposit!! The hotel has gone down hill it looks miserable and dirty inside not the lovely hotel we first looked at. So it was either carry on with a joke of a venue or loose £500, Hope you feel great about upsetting us, but when we re book our wedding with a different place it will be everything we wanted, shame on you Allerton Court!!!
Great hotel its our second time here and its a great place to stay Rooms very clean Staff very helpful and polite always willing to help Breakfast lovely and a lot of choice I gave it 5☆ and 10/10 thanks for a great stay 👍👍
Awful stay, the bed was one of the worst things Ive ever slept on, springs had gone, the fire alarm went off twice during the night for no reason and went to the restaurant in the evening only be told they had for children was chicken nuggets so had to go elsewhere. Upon telling the hotel the issues with the bed was advised a reduction would be made to the bill and a refund was to be issued, no refund so chased this up and was promised a call back, still waiting.
For £125 a night you could throw in breakfast. Not sure what I got here that a £25 travelodge wouldnt have got me, except for cornering the market on availability. The cafe over the road has great cakes and decent coffee.
Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. It was an easy walk to the town centre. Breakfast was of a reasonable quality.
On Saturday 28 August 2021 we departed for a long drive up to Scotland. We booked the Allerton Court Hotel in Northallerton for our half-way point: a family room for one night. We arrived at the hotel only to find out that our room was double-booked. We understand this was due to technical problems beyond their control: booking websites had shown availability and allowed bookings for rooms that were in fact no longer available. However, we only found out about this on arrival, 5 days after the booking was made. The hotel had no availability and simply turned us away. Staff offered little help to look for alternative accommodation elsewhere. The front desk offered to "check Google", but we decided to check ourselves and call a few local hotels and bed & breakfasts. Because of the busy Summer Bank Holiday weekend, it took over 15 phone calls before we found another available room nearby and we informed the front desk of this. Before leaving, we asked if we would be charged for the room and we were assured this was not the case. In the consternation I had forgotten that the room was in fact pre-paid, so the money (£114had already left our account. On return from our holiday, I had to spend hours on the phone with both Hotels.com (the booking agentand the hotel itself to request my refund. Its now been 18 days since the original booking and all I have from both sides are reassurances that this will be sorted. But no refund has been processed to date. Every time I call the booking agent they try to contact the hotel, and every time I call the hotel they say that the booking agent is not responding. Zero stars for handling this mess!
Basically in the midst of a rebrand having been acquired out of receivership by a major chain. Staff were all great and I have no doubt things will improve. Would stay there again, but not at the price we paid.
I did not have a good experience here. The shower was unusable. The WiFi didnt reach the rooms. The net curtains were missing in this ground floor room. It was difficult to close the door to the room.
Service was generally poor.Asked to move rooms as the originally assigned room had lots of mould and ceiling cracks in the bathroom.Decor is tired looking throughout. lots of marks on walls, net curtains were ripped, main curtains were not blackout and were not fixed to all of the hanging rings.Asked for a fan no less than 4 times throughout the day only to be told at 10 p.m that they had none so went to Tesco and got a cheap one.Creaky bed too.Room location backed onto a shop that sold tiles. Noisy with deliveries from 0600 a.m and there were plenty of noisy seagulls from Brighton apparently on a country holiday.Tired after 2 nights stay and in need of a couple of days holiday to recover. In terms of cost. There are other chains that provide better maintained rooms for less money.Having stayed there 2 years previously and having had a much better experience I was really disappointed.
This was our 3rd stay and we travel over 8hrs to get there knowing it was where we would use as a base to visit surrounding places of interest. We asked for an upstairs room when we booked at least 2 months previous because we thought it might be warm and we could sleep with the Windows open but when we called a couple days before arrival they didn’t know anything about this. We were then promised an upstairs room.On arrival we were given room 205 upstairs. Well the smell coming from the sink was so obnoxious! We kept filling the sink to flush it through and eventually I had to buy a bottle of Zoflora and pour half of this down the sink! Surely the housekeeping staff would have noticed the smell! I suspect because they have weddings there then a guest could have been sick in the sink. It was dreadful. The second day we can back from a day out and the towels were still in the bath and the bin was still full! Hubby went to reception and they said we should have told them we wanted the room done because of COVID. Well it was done the day before so this was an excuse. The lad on reception said it was t his job and sent one of the girls to our room with clean towels. So the next day our room was done but they forgot to replace the tea and coffee and there was no milk either. Just what you want after a long day out!!The only member of staff that seemed to have any customer service etiquette was Adele on reception. She was professional and helpful. It’s a pit the staff weren’t more like herOh and I forgot to say there was not internet connection on phones or tablet. Because I kept on about it (They thought I was old and didn’t know what I was doingthey eventually agreed to reset it and would you believe we were able to pick up the Internet!!I’m afraid it’s lost it charm and professionalism and the staff seem like they couldn’t care less (with the exception of Adele).,
The hotel has rooms in three categories, standard, superior and executive. We stayed for four nights in a superior room. As far as we could see, these rooms are no bigger than the standard rooms, but they have been recently completely re-furbished or re-built to a high standard. The decor was modern, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern, fully tiled and had a large walk-in shower with giant spray head. There were lots of power points, which helps if you have phones, tablets and other electrical gadgets to re-charge. One of the double power points had two USB charging sockets. The room had ample wardrobe hanging space, and shelves for storing clothes. The wardrobe units also included space for storing a suitcase and a section with kettle for making in-room refreshments. There was no fridge. Upon arrival, we found tea, coffee and chocolate drinks with some biscuits. The wardrobe unit also accommodates an iron and ironing board. There was a modern 32-inch flat screen TV mounted on the wall. The room had two chairs, a small round table and a good sized dressing table as well as built-in bedside storage units. Our room had a pleasant view over the gardens, where guests could sit and enjoy drinks weather permitting. The staff were welcoming and helpful. In spite a some apparent staff shortages, possibly due to covid-19 isolation policies, service was good. We had no difficulty getting extra tea, coffee, sugar and milk for our refreshment tray and reception staff were helpful in making restaurant bookings for us in the town and giving advice on what to see and where to go for visitors to the area.Breakfast service was quick, contrary to what some earlier reviews had said, and the food at breakfast was good. We particularly enjoyed the Danish Pastries which supplemented the traditional English breakfast choices. The dining room was not open for lunch or dinner during our stay at the hotel, because there was no chef available temporarily. However guests whose packages included dinner were re-booked into other local restaurants by the reception staff. The hotel has a large car park which is free for residents. The hotel is located just outside the town centre, but a five minute walk takes you into the high street where there is a good selection of shops and restaurants. There is a street market in the high street on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a farmers market on Sundays. The hotel offers various packages and short breaks for guests who book in advance, either bed and breakfast or to include dinner. In our opinion, these represent good value for money. Northallerton is a pleasant town to visit and the hotel is a good base from which to visit other locations in the North Yorkshire Dales. Northallerton is on the main rail line from London to Edinburgh and the hotel is about a mile from the station, so it would be convenient for visitors arriving by train.
A good comfortable bed and good breakfast. Had issues in the hotel other guests not sticking to the Covid-19 rules and we felt uncomfortable. We told the young staff but they were struggling to deal with the problem so we took our drinks to our room.
Excellent value for money. Friendly staff, great location and good choice for breakfast including vegan and gluten free toast. Booked up to go again 👍
Still difficult times for everyone. Staff do their best but maintenance to room needs attention. Eg toilet roll holder left on bathroom shelf & should have been repaired. Also restaurant staff did not seem to be fully trained but service was fairly good. Overall though excellent value for money, good parking & only 10 mins from Northallerton High St
We had a great 2 night stay bank Holiday. The room wasnt bad at all although it could have been cleaned more thoroughly. It was very dusty and windows, and window sills were filthy. But everything else was good. Nice crisp white bedding and towels. We ate there sat evening after arriving. The food was lovely.Breakfast was a bit of a shambles but when the food arrived it was lovely.we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfasts on our stay when we finally got it.But it has not put us off,we have made a return booking .Great location for the shops bars etc.loved waking up to seeing rabbits and various wildlife in front of our window too.thouroughly enjoyed our weekend in Northallerton. Looking forward to going bk in Aug.
Sadly the room was not worth the £75 for one night. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling, net curtains ripped, water in bath was brown..... I gave the benefit of the doubt as not having the use just now due to COVID but My booking was made one week in advance so plenty of time to cleaning and check room. Very sad looking accommodation from when we got married there 11yrs ago. Receptionist that met us wasn’t very approachable, never seen staff when left...
We booked for Sunday lunch to celebrate our mothers 94th birthday for over 35 of us. They immediately advised they would provide us with a separate room and that we could stay on after lunch as long as we wanted. Great service and the Carvery was great too.
Great Hotel, food really good, bedrooms lovely. Special mention for the chef/Deputy Manager Tina, who really went out of her way to prepare food that was suitable for my wife to manage ( who has a swallowing problem from an earlier operationCannot speak highly enough of the whole Hotel and all the staff we met during our stay.
Called in for a business meeting and was warmly greeted a served a big mug of fresh coffee. My colleague tells me it was very well.priced and the room was spacious and comfortable. I am going to check out the menu on line and.may bring my Wife here as it seems very nice.
The staff were polite, and friendly. One member of staff in the carvery area was very helpful, I am on crutches, the lady helped me, by carrying my plate, asking which food and size of portion I wanted. The lady also took my plate back to my table. This lady is a asset to this hotel. The food was great. Looking forward to going again.
Stayed at this hotel last Saturday night for the first time and I cannot fault the place or the price! The room was spacious and very clean. (Lovely towels)! A small selection on the dinner menu but my meal was outstanding and if not too busy, the Chef will chop and change things about for you if you wish. Breakfast was also lovely and adequate! The Staff in all departments were absolutely brilliant and will try and accommodate your every wish. A lovely atmosphere all around. Will certainly go again.
I stayed at the hotel overnight for work. Colleagues had dinner in the hotel at local options seemed limited. The food was quite nice and reasonably priced, though service was quite slow despite being almost empty in the restaurant. The staff let us mix the a la carte and Christmas menu for pudding which was nice of them. There was a funeral going on while we visited so that may have occupied a lot of the staff. I had an executive room which was nicely decorated and a good size. The room looked out into a garden so was nice and quiet. The bed, duvet and pillows felt a bit old and cheap to me, but I slept fine.
Generally nice and relatively modern feeling inside. Just a series of small things that let it down. Room heating didnt appear to get warm, the desk had to be pulled away from wall to turn on TV, the shower was a poor trickle, and the bathroom extractor fan didnt do much to remove the steam. Breakfast was nice and the staff friendly and pleasant, bit not worth the £100 a night I was charged.
