All'Osteria Bottega - Southern Comfort Food Restaurant in Bologna, Italy
One of the best meals Ive ever had, period. Went as a group of 7 total and everything was phenomenal. You cant order anything wrong here. 11/10!
Good food good selection of wine
Outstanding osteria in Bologna, one of the best food I ever had in my life (and I am from Parma)…. The selection of salumi is superb, so as tagliatelle alla bolognese and the classics. The service is excellent, the waiters are very professional and kind. Those who criticise it just know what good food is !!!!!!
Is closed but didn’t mark it anywhere. Don’t waste your time walking over here.
One of the best restaurants in Bologna. We enjoyed lunch here with salad, cheese plates, and macaroni with sausage & peppers. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended.
We jumped in our mid-trip, and was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is in a very nice and quiet place. They have few items on the menu, but those items are all you want from a really nice eat. We all had classical bolognese tagliatelle and it was one of the best foods Ive ever had. Same with dessert. Staff was very polite and their prices are decent. Totally recommend
Food itself was very tasty but there are better places. Especially service was a letdown, unfriendly and seemingly disorganized. We tried the cottoletta and tortellini based on the reviews and it was worth it but I wouldnt say that they are incomparably better than at other places in Bologna.
Believe the reviews this is a hidden jewel, we were fortunate enough to just walk in at lunch time and got a table, the restaurant was busy but we were made very welcome and the food was fresh and tasty 😋Just what we needed after the walk down from the basilica, only the mad walk up 🤣
Absolute delight. The food is fantastic and the service is great. They have top quality ingredients.
Best tortellini in Bologna. Good selection of regional wines too.
One of the best restaurants in Bologna. The food is top quality.
Even though I had contacted them more than 3 weeks in advanced, we were rudely sent away at the door. I tried to talk to the server that was at the restaurant and, even though he understood everything I said in english, his attitude was filled with disnain while he answered in italian. At the end he litteraly pushed my boyfriend away while we were already leaving. Maybe the food would have been good, maybe we would have tried to book for another day, but such an attitude it just inconceivable in the hospitality industry.
Cosy little restaurant, friendly service and tasty food. You can sit outside
The tagliatelle Bolognese was amazing! The restaurant was located in an area that wasnt too busy, so easy to get to. The atmosphere was really pleasant and the staff were too. Anyone visiting Bologna needs to stop by and eat there. I will come back to Italy just for this restaurant.
You need to call this restaurant in a week advance to get a reservation. The food is freshly prepared n made in the restaurant, n or brought from the country side. The service was excellent. The prices are very high but worth every euro. I was with my Italian family so everyone spoke Italian n communicate with the waiter n restaurant hosts. I speak English but the waiter understood me and both waiters where understanding n respectful in there services. The pasta and tortellini where made fresh at the back as so the 7 types of cold cut meats we had. We all had 3 dishes, Opener second n main course. I highly recommend to come super hungry. This is high tier Bolognese food, and highly recommend!!
Very delicious but price bit high
When in Bologna, a must visit restaurant. Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. I have visited this place 3 years after again and still has the good quality and very friendly service.
The bolognaise was good - and the wine...but we found it overpriced for what was (or isgiven. The service was also not completely as expected... with a handwritten bill (that we could not make outbrought to us after the meal....? We asked for a normal (21st centurytyped out bill - where our request seemed to be something of an annoyance. I would NOT recommend this place if you want high quality-price ratio meals. There are other places for that...
I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was quite good, however the service was a bit slow and the prices were on the higher side. Not sure if it is worth all this hype.
Went here on Lonely Planet book recommendation, but was closed even though opening hours say open. Saw others with the book on the neighboring restaurant. Better to call before going to ensure it’s open, to avoid the same mistake we and others did.
Simply amazing! For the first time in my life I went 2 days in a row to a restaurant. Simply amazing!
Super nice food and friendly staff. You can taste all the typical dishes from Bologna and I highly recommend it. The prices are very high though.
Beautiful pasta and even had gluten free pasta available for my girlfriend who initially wasnt going to eat! Great service.
Fantastic hand crafted food. Can’t recommend it enough.
This is pure art. This place is my top 3 in Italy. Simply tasty
Heard this is the best restaurant in Bologna, we had to try and we had a delicious meal. Pastas were one of the best we’ve had, though slightly on the salty side for my taste. Service was great. Did not meet the owner like others mentioned. Flan like dessert was amazing. Make reservation ahead of time.
Great local and traditional food, we had a lot of fun and quality time. A bit expensive though
AllOsteria Bottegas rendition of the tagliatelle and tortellini (two typical Bologna disheswere done perfectly. Would definitely be back!
This is a very small, intimate restaurant with maybe 10 tables. Service and food were impeccable. Fantastic fresh pasta, as well as great jardinere, bread and desert. Tagliatelle bolognese was marvelous, and the chef ravioli was sublime. Highly recommended.
Excellent. Excellent service and excellent food. The prosciutto and culatello are amazing. We shared the tagliatelle, the tortellini, the rigatoni and gramigna. Then followed by the piglet and vitello tonnato.
So if you’re unlucky enough to believe the hype of this place just be aware that that the owner is full of it (and he has nothing to be proud ofand the food is bang averageone feels scammed as they shuffle you into “the other room” which is designated for tourists. Much better places i bolognaGo to drogheria della rossa. Great vibes. Great owner. Great food.If you want a soggy milanese and a bang average bolgnese ragu for 160 euros. This is your place
Great food, the cold cuts were of very high quality. The wine recommend from the staff was a great local Sangiovese which we had to order another of since we drank it all before we even got to the pasta. The pasta had a simple homemade look and tasted very very good, good enough for me to wish I could eat another serving. Staff was also very nice and service minded.
Very good local food like Tagliatelle al Ragu or Tortellini al brodo. We went there twice in a row. A reservation is recommended. The service was nice, especially Danielle
Excellent food and atmosphere! One can see that owners care about their guests: tables are shielded from street by panels, even inside the tables close to the door have their separation to keep customers privacy and to make everyone feel cosy and comfortable. Food was amazing, accompanied with very friendly service. Traditional food with excellent execution! Highly recommended!Wine recommendations were very good, and their pricing was very fair. Best experience in Bologna! For complainers - good food has its price, if one wants cheap food - one has to satisfy him/herself with lower quality... This is the only restaurant in Bologna, which lived up to our expectations...
The tortelloni was incredible. Highly recommended!
So..they didn’t let us order what we wanted because we were a table of 10 people and they said they were busy. They said they will bring us a few dishes to try and share..we ended up paying 80-100euro per person for food we never ordered. The food was delicious but the service unacceptable for tourists who don’t speak Italian. For locals I’m sure it is a nice place but for tourists I wouldn’t recommend it.
Very good in everything. Food is delicious ,service average and a little noisy. But general impression is above average
Perfect pasta. Best in Italy so far after more than 1 month around the country. Amazing!!!
I was impressed by the service... really nice and attentive. The food was even good and with typical dishes from the region. It’s a small place so it is better to reserve a table in advance. Tagliatelle al ragù were delicious, even if my mother’s parmigiana is better than the one I ate here, which doesn’t mean it was bad, it was tasty but something was missing for me. Recommended for a typical bolognaise dinner or lunch 😊
Nice food, super friendly service but the prices are too high comparing to the simple menu. Otherwise great experience. Recommend
Excellent chef but rude owner who treated us as though we were children. We three have dined around the world and know our cuisines. The good food was spoiled by this mans pompous and insulting behaviour. We were in Italy for 5 days on this visit and thank goodness everyone else was charming and helpful. Never to return to this establishment.
Good food and really lovely restaurant let down by the service provided by the owner - he disappeared after starting to take our order, started a conversation with another guest halfway through our second attempt, interrupted me with a raised voice while I was trying to translate for the table and was generally completely uninterested in us. My Italian isnt perfect by any means, but Ive never encountered such poor hospitality from any restaurant in the whole of Italy. Such a shame because the rest of the team were excellent and the cooking was superb. Plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walking working hard to attract and please customers with incredible food - both traditional and innovative.
Very small place that you can easily pass by. But what an experience! Great food. Great service. Definitely one of the best Bologna has to offer.
Amazing place in "the fat city". The food is unreal. The staff is not so good at English so bust out your Italian skills. Pigeon is amazing well as their tortellini. Cant go wrong but make sure to make a reservation. They are always full for lunch and dinner.
My friend and I went here after reading all these wonderful reviews, but were quite disappointed after being overcharged for several dishes. I should preface this review by saying we are vegetarians and most of the menu contained meat, which was expected. We intended to share some of the few vegetarian dishes (meaning each person could have a few bites of the othersand casually mentioned this to our waiter...who promptly charged us an extra €3 on top of the main dish without mentioning it beforehand. In addition, we ordered the salad, which was nothing more than a bowl of lettuce. Literally. It would have been nice to have been told that in advance. The lettuce even still had dirt on it! Once our food was served, the wait staff completely ignored us, even when we tried to make eye contact. In the end, we left with a bad taste in our mouths (although I must admit the pasta and potatoes were good). However, we definitely overpaid for the quality of this meal.
Our favorite meal in Bologna over 3 days of excellent eating. The mortadella was fantastic, probably the best we had on our trip. The bolognese was perfect and the pasta was al dente. The brodo was so delicate and flavorful. Even the asparagus, simply steamed with a bit of olive oil, salt and herbs, was perfect. Loved this place!
well-executed bolognese cuisine. Very fresh products. Very accommodating staff/owner.
Brilliant food here at a very small and rustic restaurant, serving some Bolognese classics. Had the Culatello di Zibello ham which was delicate and melts in your mouth. Tortellini di brodo was so simple but incredibly satisfying. Definitely one of the best Italian meals Ive ever had.
Everything was ok, starting with culatello (delicious), going on with pasta with bacala and second I piati zucchini with polpetonesLambusco off courseEnding with rice puddingFantastic!
Simply amazing...great bolognese style food in a very nice atmosphere. The place is small.. so a reservation is mandatory.A place that can not be missed. It is always very difficult make a choice between all the wonderful dishes that can be found at the Osteria BottegaStaff very friendly
