Century-old shop for global coffees and teas, with takeaway option and sales of kit and accessories.
Seriously good coffee. Great service. A variety I honestly cant find anywhere else.
Super nice people, service and products!Good caffetteria where enjoy caffè or tea! They sell coffee grains, tea and wonderful items for coffee too!
Wow. Although I entered about 10 minutes before closing time, I was greeted with a big smile. I was advised well and very detailed. The coffee I purchased was enjoyed by all. I highly recommend this store!
A beautiful store with a treasure trove of all things coffee. Friendly and knowledgable staff. I unreservedly recommend this wonderful establishment.
This tiny shop is like an Ali-Baba cave for coffees! Selection is enormous, prices are very reasonable, and they can grind it for you. As a bonus, they have very good take-away coffee from £1, a large selection of coffee-making tools, teas, confectionery, hangover drops and even a samovar!
Great selection of good quality coffee beans and tea. Range of brewing equipment available too
Quick service and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Really big choice of tea and coffee!
Love the abundant of coffee selections here. They are also quite accommodative explaining differences of their coffee and taste, so if you don’t know where to start JUST ASK. Got quite few half-pounders, will definitely come back
The coffee is the best, and to have it delivered is even better...The wait for Cuban coffee is a bit of a pain though.
A lovely quaint coffee (and teashop with a large range of coffees and loose teas from around the world. That distinctive smell of fresh coffee as you enter the shop is most welcoming, along with the very friendly and knowledgeable staff - especially Deanna who made me a delicious cappuccino and took the time to pose with my "coffee buds"! :-)
A great little shop located in Soho. What there dont know about coffee or tea isnt worth knowing. Purchsed some nice loose tea and some coffee. Was served by a nice assistant named Deanna who answered any questions I had about my purchaes.Would highly recommend a visit if you are in London.
Great coffee to buy, and also a very good coffee takeaway, at the counter.I buy the selection boxes for gifts. Every one is very tasty.
If you LOVE coffee and LOVE to try different types of coffee, then a visit to Algerian Coffee Stores is a MUST! They are a well oiled machine with so much variety. I was able to grab a few variety pack boxes and also try some of the espresso at the store. The staff was awesome as well!
Love it here. Amazing selection of coffees and teas. Always with friendly and helpful service.£1 for a quality takeaway coffee (keep it up 👍). Take it up to soho square and watch this area buzz with life.
Very wide range of coffee and tea leaf, staff are very knowledgeable.
If you love coffee, then you have to go here. Such an amazing selection of coffees, and equipment to make coffee.
I can only give 1 star. I would give less if possible.I took the time out to contact the store and give feedback. I gave my name and my telephone number so the company could identify me and i owned the review.I received a call back from the lady who claimed to be the manager of the shop and she said"YOURE SAD TO LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW".I promply said goodbye and ended the call. One experience to miss.
incredible coffee shop with a vast selection of coffees at great prices. you can also pick up some chocolates, snacks, coffee makers& accessories, as well as a cappuccino for £1.50…. cant beat it!
Great coffee selection but I wish they had some plant milk for cappuccino
I absolutely love this shop. Always have. I have been going for at least 30 years. For the last 7-8 I have not been in London, so we use the mail order which is an excellent service. Always really swiftly done. Lovely people, lovely shop, and - obvs - lovely tea and coffee :). 100% recommended.
A great shop full of coffee aroma and ideal for unique confectionery gifts. It has wonderful charm, sentiment and a lot of history.
Great coffee, friendly service and reasonable prices. The subscription service means I never run out of my favourite beans.
Nice quaint shop if youre stopping by for some coffee on the go. But if youre here to buy coffee, beware that their coffee is not fresh. The beans I got from them were clearly stale as they had literally zero smell & flavor, which is not too surprising as they keep their roasted coffee in some plastic jars and not in vacuumed bags or even airtight jars.
Long time buyer. Visited once and was well worth the visit. Beautiful shop and so much characteristic. The quality of products is outstanding. And prices are exceptional for such high quality. And thanks to the staff for working incredibly hard over the last 2 yrs and this year especially. Thanks!
I can only comment on their coffee and they truly are best whole bean coffee stockist within central London. Monthly specials with a choice of medium or high roast. An online shop where you can view almost all of their stock.Friendly customer service who are always happy to advise if you need some direction on what bean to try. They also have a huge range of tea that I am yet to try but their coffee is so good that I do not have time to drink anything else. They also sell the most competitively price espresso, Americans and latte around, where they always use their own bean/blend.You will never be let down or disappointed by The Algerian Coffee Store.
This place hasnt changed in years and I love the smell of it. The smell of spiced coffee and all the other coffee smells together and literally makes my mouth water. They sell lovely tea as well I thoroughly recommend the ceylon Inverness tea. They also sell all types of confectionery and coffee making machines and they have a wealth of knowledge as well I also like the fact that they all were wearing masks when I went in there. I sometimes do an online order and that is always delivered promptly with no problems
I love my coffee so this shop was like heaven to me. As soon as I entered this small shop the smell of the coffee was just irresistible. They only have coffee to take away which was delicious and cost 1.50 that is nothing. I would like to go back and buy some beans as well. I did not have much time to properly look at everything but the variety of coffees and teas are huge. Also you can find everything else to grind or brew your coffee at home. Recommended!
I love this little gem of a shop. The smell emitting from the front door is intoxicating. The variety of teas and coffees available is mind boggling as is the number of different grinds available too. The shop is small so can filled crowded even with just four customers in it but pleased dont let this put you off
Real gem of a place with a great selection of coffee at even greater prices. Lovely and quaint inside and the look and feel of it hasn’t changed in ages. A wee quibble that echoes what one or two other reviews have said - a few times they haven’t got the grind right and I’ve had to go back, but this usually only happens with what looks like a new member of staff.
Eclectic shop, bursting with coffee, and all its equipments and accompaniments (think honey, sweets, biscuits, chocolates, etc.). It is more than a century old and I think its definitely worth a visit. Unique!
A traditional coffee store with a vast variety of coffee beans. The service is fast and friendly service.
I would give 6 out of 5 if it was possible :)There are variety of coffee blends from all over the world. It is hard to choose but the staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. They guided me really well. I went for “Formula Rossa”, a blend of African and Brazilian coffees and “Kopi Luwak”,digested coffee cherries by the Asian civets. I paid £27 for 100gr Kopi Luwak which is fair given it is an expensive coffee. They asked how I brew my coffee and grinded it nicely for my moka pot. I brewed it as soon as I arrived home. The coffee was fresh and didn’t dissapoint at all.
An excellent latte for £1.50 and they also have an amazing selection of coffee, I was asked what kinda grind I wanted on my coffee and how intense I wanted it when I bought some coffee from their very long menu- these people know their coffee!
Traditional coffee house for coffee lovers to top up on a variety of blends. Cheap takeaway coffee and just an unexpected find. Nice place to sip outside and people watch :)))
Me and my partner bike all the way from SE to get our coffee beans from here, along with a lovely espresso. The young gentleman who serves us most times is so pleasant and so knowledgeable about all of the different roasts / beans. We trust his recommendations and are never left disappointed! Only downside, is that the shop is not closer to our house haha! Thanks for your amazing customer service
Algerian Coffee Stores have been supplying our coffee , Brazilian Santos High Roast, for 20 years now. Between the two of us we have used over 150kg of beans. Looking forward to my next pick up in Soho.
Finally a shop where I can get coffees from broader part of Asia, they literally have coffee beans from all over the world. I like my coffee really strong and pack flavours, it is so hard to find such beans in London/Brighton. Picked up some Blue Sumatra (love it), Monsoon Malabar, Old Brown Java and obviously some Mandheling. Hope they will get more beans from more parts of Asia, I miss coffees from Toraja and Wamena (hint for the store management:)It was a bit hard to communicate with the staff when you had mask on and someone was grinding the beans at the same time; this is something they might want to rethink with the current situation, maybe move the grinder to the back of the shop of they can.
Amazing selection of coffees. Great prices. A cozy find in the centre of Soho. (No seating). Can buy coffees and accessories.
very amazing coffee shop it has the cheapest espresso ever in London with only one pound however, the minimum charge is five poundsthe staff are helpful, the smell of the coffee is magnificentI advise to try their raw coffee beans it is amazing
If you consider yourself a coffee master and taster then this small store is full of aroma and variety. You will he amazed of the superior beans and blends. Get grinded if you like. They do have a lot of coffee making stuff as well a collection of tead and other goods. It is in Soho.
If your in the soho neighborhood this is the coffee shop to go to!!! They definitely know how to make macchiato or cappuccino not to mentioned this is the least expensive coffee we’ve had in London, 1 pound of a macchiato and 1.20 pound of a cappuccino. They also have an extensive selection of coffee beans to take home and they also have a big selection of coffee machines and accessories. There is a reason why they have been around for so long and definitely won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. We will definitely be going back for a coffee before heading out of town. Worth the detour if your not the neighborhood
Incredible coffee store with huge range of coffee beans, teas and fancy biscuits from around the world. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff and the most wonderful smells! This store has been open at this exact address for 132 years. It is the second oldest store in Soho (Maison Bertaux the cake shop is the oldest by 2 years). Still busy today it’s a rare treat for coffee lovers.Dozens of coffees available as beans or they will grind them for you. They will even mix you a personal blend.
A coffee lovers dream. Walk in, choose a blend from the menu and watch the beans grounds and blended with spices and walk away with the best cafetière you will ever have in your life.
Loved this little gem. Their in house blend was delicious. With a cup of espresso for £1 and capuccino for £.20 on a freezing cold January day whats not to like.
A small gem in the heart of soho!Everything about coffee! !!!This shop is an example of passion for superior quality products and services! You can enjoy a Exellent coffee and buy the mixture you like for your home. You can also buy amazing chocolates and other special products. This shop is a must visit if you hang around this area. There is a very responsible service advisory about coffee and everything around it!You can buy even stainless steel moka maker for induction cookers.Lots of delicious authentic chocolate from Italy and around the world!Must try there own coffe bean dark chocolate!Highly recommend!
Algerian Coffee Stores, which a brilliant place to get all things coffee. Fresh coffee beans and various coffee making equipment such as expresso making pots. Ive had a latte here and was simply blown away by the taste of the coffee. The latte I had was seriously smooth coffee, with a steady taste and feel. There are no sharp or overly bitter taste to this coffee, with a consistent taste between the first sip and the after-taste. Just smooth and consistent from start to finish. The price of the latte here is cheaper than many of the cafes on the same street and far better experience. Ive only now realised the standard high street cafes are bland compared to this coffee place. The shop also sells chocolates (lots and lots of it), as well as some speciality baked goods. Cant vouch for either though.
This is an amazing shop and I love to go in. I always buy a wonderful packet of high roast coffee of the month. Its always brilliant. The staff are always charming and they will grind your coffee as you like. They have fantastic quality coffees and teas from everywhere together with lovely sweety things and brewing pots. They also sell you a coffee to go which at just £1 is practically a steal. I highly recommend this place, best coffee shop I know of.
Went here yesterday when me and my gf just saw it while we were passing by. I needed some more coffee so we went in to see what they had. The staff here were really quite nice and very helpful. We spent well over 30 minutes asking about the different beans they had etc etc and they were more than happy to entertain and answer all the queries we had. The whole place seemed very cosy and calming as well. A really great place with some amazing coffee, both in terms of selection and quality. And with the staff being as great as they are this was a great experience for me.
Best hidden gem in Soho. This little cafe has an amazing selection of coffee beans and teas, the smell of coffee as you go in blows your mind. The servers are very old school, friendly, chatty, recognize locals and regulars. Also, they have the cheapest take away coffee in the area.Theres often a queue, but thats because their coffer is actually good and people love it. Its worth waiting and their service is always speedy.
Brilliant and knowledgeable staff were very helpful in suggesting coffee. Great value coffee compared to the chains/Tesco etc and an excellent espresso to sip while choosing my coffee.
