Delicious Italian.Setting is not amazing, and more could be don’t to make it feel like a restaurant rather than a car park, but overall a good meal.We ordered a pizza and GF gnocchi - both were really yummy

Have been here a couple of times. The pizza is ok but nothing to write home about to be honest. Service is ok, but the staff seem to stick together a bit near the registers for some reason and three ceiling fans is not enough for Darwin’s humid evenings. You can watch the pizza chefs at work if you like as well as they operate in an glass room where the wood fire pizza oven is.

We went because of the rave pizza reviews to see how their woodfire pizza stacked up. My partner loved it but I was left feeling underwhelmed. If the base was any thinner it wouldnt be there and for a pizza where the leading ingredient is supposed to be prosciutto it was lacking in prosciutto.Service was super friendly and the food came out very quickly.

“Head waiter” was rude and condescending. Made us feel that serving was an inconvenience to him. Sadly food was ok but meal ruined by waiters arrogance

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The first meal came out 10 minutes before the sizzling plates for patron two and three. Their steaks came out 5 minutes later. Plates weren’t sizzling any more. Patron four’s meal came out 5 minutes after that. The beer wasn’t cold. There were indigenous people walking through the restaurant taking food from people’s plates while they were still eating. The food tasted good but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Bit disappointed with last nights meal, mainly the pastas. I always look forward to my meals at Alfonsinos when I visit Darwin but this one really let me down. I was here 6 weeks ago with a group of friends and it was fantastic but a lot can change in 6 weeks. Looked to be a near entire new staff, kitchen and wait, and the menu has changed, hopefully it’s only for the wet.On a positive note, the pizza was still very good.I will still be back and hopefully this is just a blip on the radar.

Came here about 3 weeks ago, and service was just amazing. We booked in advance, and was kindly welcomed by the staff who led us to our table to dine. We ordered a Caprese salad as our side, and ordered a Margherita pizza (you can never go wrong with a wood fired Margherita pizza 😍with a gluten free base. It was to die for! It is quite hard to find a restaurant that sells good quality gluten free pizzas, this place highly exceeded to my expectations. I definitely reccomend, especially to all those who are looking for gluten free friendly options.

I dined here following a personal recommendation and it did not disappoint. The food was good and represented good value. Service was fast but well timed. The hero was the Panna Cotta with berry coulis, which was as good as I have ever had.

Favourite Italian in Darwin! Authentic feel, lovely staff and incredible tasting food. They also have lovely selection of Italian wines. If youre going for pasta - I highly recommend the Pappardelle panna e Funghi. 5 stars!!!

We love this place , not the greatest set up ( table wise but the food outstanding . We have traveled a bit and this would be the most authentic Italian restaurant to find in Darwin . Pizzas and pastas have been simple but great . Just the way Italians do it. We can only recommend it we will be back tomorrow 😊

Very disappointed with the service. We waited over 1.5hrs for dinner, when I asked the waitress why there was a delay with food she never came back and I had to beckon over the manager to find out what was going on. Apparently, there was an issue with the iPad order software which didn’t seem to be a problem for the other patrons. Kinda expected a little discount or perhaps a free drink but had to pay full price and had to fish for an apology. Shame food wasn’t bad but the service definitely soured the experience. Won’t be back.

Went here after seeing all the great reviews and I think I got them on a bad day. Was seated fast and asked what I wanted to drink, I replied a coke she said they don’t have coke, so I asked whether they had Pepsi. She responded no and she pointed to the drinks menu and said we only have what’s in here. All the drinks on the drinks menu are alcoholic and I was driving. I asked her if they have any non alcoholic drinks and she said they had flavoured sparkling water and that was it. Pretty disappointing but moved on thinking the food would be amazing after the reviews. It was ok but not the best pizza I’ve had. Service was average, fast but average made to feel like they just want to get you in and out as quickly as they can. Ate at plenty of other restaurants in Darwin that were far superior to this.

Ordered takeaway. On the menu they state the pasta and pizza can be made gluten free for an extra cost. My friend is cealiac and we requested her pasta to be gluten free. We picked up our food where I was told by 3 different people 3 different stories but I got the gist there was a problem. Finally was informed they couldnt make the pasta gluten free because it would "taste bad" after asking them to make a pasta that was gluten free I was told no because it would take to long. My friend was then forced to buy a gluten free pizza which she had to pay for we agreed because i assumed they would refund me the money for the pasta they never made. Not the case I had an infuriating men mansplain stripe to me about 15 times and how I had to wait for them to finish the shift. I have yet to be refunded and will be going back tonight to request it again.

The pizzas are good but the price is pretty steep. Pizza should not have sizes. It’s pizza size and their large is simply a normal pizza. They proud themselves to be authentic Italian - I’d drop the sizes then.It is indeed the best pizza in Darwin so they don’t have competition which mean they can charge what they want. The prices are 20% more expensive than the best pizzerias in Sydney or Melbourne.

The food is Amazing as always!! Love the chef comes out and chat with us and offer us the specials, Love it!!But I must say the why do you only have one person takes order, the way your manager refused to take order is missed opportunity for more sales, all staff should take orders from guests 5 stars for food 2 star for service

We were recommended to eat here by some Darwin locals and were sorely disappointed. The service was poor, disorganised and manic. The food was both overpriced and lacking in flavour. We ordered mixed grilled vegetables (picturedand the Tartufata pizza. The vegetables were hardly grilled and some served chilled with a sad drizzle of balsamic. The pizza was sloppy and dough very burnt on the sides. We ordered the pizza specifically as it said it came with basil and we were greeted with a single basil leaf on the centre of the pizza, which was a large and cut into four disproportionately sized pizzas.

The food was great. I had a mussels spaghetti with Prosecco and my friend had a calzone with beers.Prosecco was served in a cocktail glass when it should be a wine glass or a flute. My food was served 15 mins later than my friend’s.Because you are only allocated 1.5 hour for your table so the whole experience was the waitstaff keep on kindly rushing you to place an order and another waitstaff come to kindly remind you you are running out of time. The food is great. Service can be definitely be better. 3 stars

Always enjoy my visit to Alfonsinos <3The pizza is really nice and pasta is very delicious too. Better to book a table before you come, the restaurant is semi outdoor so good thing to have insect repellent just in case because some people do attact mosquitos/sandflies (in my case its kinda the problem hahaa)It is in the city area so you might need to park in Coles or esplanade then go walk to the restaurantThe staffs are very helpful and could give advice with the food recommendation. The desert also nice too and there is gluten free selection

Food was probably 8/10, (great buffalo cheese and gorgonzola calzone was beautiful..4 prawns on an entire pizza was a bit short thoThe ambience was nice with the lights and atmosphere. We felt rushed tho. Waiter abruptly told us we had to be out in 90 min, which we knew, but there are nicer ways to mention this. As a result food came very quickly, so we had a 3 course dinner in an hour...a bit hard to sit back and really enjoy. I get your busy, and its a small restaurant, but I feel this ruins the experience so overall, Id rate at 6.5-7/10.A bit disappointed. X

Traditional Italian food, so good and definitely worth a visit. Best dinner we had in Darwin, safe to say our group inhaled every mouthful! PS.If you are expecting to eat thick crust, ham & pineapple pizza, ie. Australianised Italian food, perhaps this isn’t the place for you.

Just wow, the best pasta and pizza I can remember. So authentic and fresh, even if you don’t think Italian is really your thing you should go try some real Italian. Only slight peeve was the slow service, they were reminding us they needed the table back which was a bit frustrating because we ordered and ate promptly but they took a very long time to bring the food (and forgot the salad). But the food IS awesome.

Best Italian Darwin. This place is busy for a good reason, very good food, good service and nice causal but a good setting right in the middle of the city. There are other more expensive Italian places in Darwin but this one has the best food. Definitely a good spot for dinner. If your struggling for parking - park on the esplande and walk through

Found this place while discovering Darwin. Has to be one of the best Italian restaurants we have been too. Truely authentic, we had the pizzas and antipasti. Absolutely delicious, and very friendly staff. Make sure to book, as it gets very busy.

Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. I was initially a little disappointed not to see a seafood pasta dish (aside from anchovieson the menu, given we were so close to the ocean. In lieu, I ordered the PAPPARDELLE PANNA E FUNGHI (double cream, mushrooms, truffle oil, parmesan, with Italian sausage), as did my husband. OMG! Nothing short of superb, possibly the tastiest pasta dish we have eaten.

Perfect to sit out in the Dry, though be prepared to sweat it out under the fans in the wet (could definitely do to have an indoor option for the hottest times of the year). Food is always perfect. Delicious Gluten free base options as well! . Our favourite woodfire pizza in Darwin hands down, we have not had a bad experience here yet.

Easily the best restaurant in Darwin! My friend and I were visiting from Melbourne for a week and ate here twice for dinner it was so good. Their red based prosciutto pizza, white based pizzas, gnocchi and tiramisu were all faultless. Perfectly executed Italian food with very reasonable prices and friendly service with a smile. See you next time!

Went 2 weeks ago.The pizza dough was without salt and the pizza edge was completely burnt. The service is perfect, friendly and very nice but the pizza quality is far away to be Italian, so if youre looking for something authentic, be aware.Flavor very very"australian influenced".Probably for Darwin its fine, but in another big city with more competition/competitors, it will be totally another story.

Not just a nice vibe, not just amazing Italian style spritzes, but also a mouth watering pizza! My husband and I are both Italian and are pizza lover! We decided to become vegan a few months back and it hasn’t been easy finding a tasty pizza without all the cheese and such 😁 Well .. we asked for the Caponata pizza without the fiordilatte and let me tell you! It was incredible! So good that we shared a third pizza between the 2 of us 🤪

My husband and I shared a pizza (Margheritaeach had the parpadelle mushroom pasta, and a tiramisu to share.I couldn’t tell you which was the best, they were all great. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.*the service was very slow to start, took about 15 minutes just to come get our first drink orders.

Omg they have the most yummy pizza and pasta in Darwin. 4 star is just for the food! If you love food then go there but dont expect any customer service or ambiance as they dont have one. They only have outdoor seating with no fan or aircon and service staff arent very friendly so if you dont care about eating in a hot humid environment without any customer service then you will be fine. Also the price is bit expensive. $17 for small pizza margaritas is too much when cost of plain flour and tomato can is nothing. I eat out often but unfortunately due to the expensive pricing I cant afford their food as often as i would like to.

I have always passed by this restaurant everyday, but never had the chance to try so when my girlfriends got together, I suggested this place straight away. There were so many delicious options in the menu which made it difficult to decide to get either a pasta or pizza. I looked under the Calzone section and was surprised to see a dish thats basically a pizza and pasta in one! I ordered the small size but was stunned to see a folded pizza bigger than my head! The dish was so good that I managed to finish it all (despite my doubtsand wouldnt hesitate to order it again. Thanks for the delicious meal team! Will come back here again soon enough!

Delicious food!Pizzas were incredible - very tasty, fresh and lots of cheese. The restaurant was very busy so we were asked to sit in the area attached outside which was BYO (which we lovedbut would say my only criticism would be that the service was pretty slow and we felt a little forgotten about.Had a tiramisu for dessert which was strong with coffee and a delicious mascarpone cream - very generous portions, would definitely recommend!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST PIZZA I HAD IN AUSTRALIA.Ive been traveling around Australia for 1 year, living in Melbourne for almost 2 years, Ive tried so many pizza places and was always disappointed. Im Italian so I know how a pizza is supposed to taste, and I can tell you, that was absolutely amazing. The dough was perfect, the ingredients were so good and fresh. Please do yourself a favour and eat at this restaurant.

The pizza is very good, proper crust, tasty flavours and simple ingredients. The thing that makes napolitan pizzas so good is the simplicity in the pizza by its ingredients. This venue has it.The cannoli i ate was with ricotta and chocolate bits. The taste of the ricotta was not as full as i expected, especially in comparison to those you find in Italy. Nevertheless i enjoyed. The coffee was very good. Important to note that this venue uses a manual espresso machine which requires true coffee making skills.Recommend this venue for its great pizzas and atmosphere. Bringing the taste from Italy closer to home.
