Nice place to have a good evening/night time with friends or a second half. Gena/Genadij the best bartender i’ve seen so far in Kiev , highly recommended!

Cool place.. I was the only one there on a monday evening.. naturally. No one asked me if i wanted another drink after i finished.. so yeah. So pay more attention to your customers.. even o a slow evening.

Cool underground place. Best on Sunday nights from 12am - 1am. Nice cocktails that are fairly expensive for Kyiv (200 - 250 UAH). Funky music.

I don’t know if they really spent great effort to find such unfriendly and racist staff. This was one of my favourite bars in the city but latest discrimination against my friend in the entrance was unacceptable. We were 3 guys were queued in the entrance for getting in but when it was our turn, one of my colleague couldn’t get in due to his skin color. I do not recommend visitors of the city if they consider to stop by this bar.

Good drinks but indeed hard to get inside. We were not refused a single time. But I know that even Ukrainian people have hard time to get inside. They do require a vaccination certificate sometimes. Get vaccinated already lol

Tasty cocktails, cheap prices compared to other high end bars, amazing bartenders, but gets too loud in the evening if there’s a DJ. Weird vibe and no clear etiquette - there are people dancing in a super crowded bar, and, at the same time, some of the customers just want to enjoy the cocktails without people bumping into them.

Racist place, avoid!!! They do not let you in even in tuesday night for the reason it is full although it is completely empty. As a tourist, I recommend do not force your reputation then your night will be frustrating. Try another bars and places. Super rude guards :((( we are the clients not the people that you play racist and ego games.

People at the gate, guards (!are super rude. They send people away saying its full inside. I went alone and they didnt have a space for one person! Comon!! And two people left the bar in front of my eyes but they kept saying its full. Such a rude manner. They were like SS officers! Lol

I couldt enter but I write this review just to try any tourist waste his time and his ilusion. We (young couplewent to this place because it was recommended in LonelyPlanet but the doorman told us it was not possible because all place was full. We were dressed well. Obviously we waited some minutes and we saw other people comming into without any problem...Also we saw how they talk agressive to clients who want to kick out the local because probably theyre not going to waste more money...just golddiggers and oldguys are allowed ;Nothing special to waste time in Kiev, therere a lot of better places where really enjoy 🇺🇦

Abosolutely amazing bar, great stuff! Cool music, drinks and team makes it #1 in city. Already missing and willing to comeback.

I visited Kyiv and tried to visit this bar 2 times to only be disappointed by a incompetent so called security guard. We were a group of embassy workers that just tried to go there to have a drink and enjoy a night out in Kyiv. The first time I can understand him profiling people which he had no apparent reason to do so but I let that slide the second time we went back same security guard refused us again which at that point it became a personal matter. If a well trained security guard should not refuse a person to enter a bar or any place for no apparent reason. He was allowing other local (Ukrainianto enter without him even giving a proper glance to see if this person is even suitable to enter for all we know they could be harmful or harmless at that. I was personally very disappointed because service starts at the first impression and the impression given to us was very bad. Customer should always be first especially when there is no apparent reason for refusal of entry. So the last thing I’ll say that this person is very racist and allows people to enter on a personal note. I highly discourage people to go there unless they take proper actions towards this security guard.The security guard was medium height with no mustache but a beard. Another nice gentleman by the name of surge tried to assist us but the other guard refused.

Nice people and nice music, but it’s a smoky (smoking tobacco is allowed in this barand cocktails prices are higher than overall. For instance 150 ml of typical whiskey sour costs about 9$

Would give this place a 5 stars two years ago. Now? Just a wanna be fancy/exclusive New York bar without the space or the quality for it. Its always a gamble to get in, so dont make plans with friends to go there, you always need to convince the staff to let you in, like they are doing you a favor. Only bar in Kiyv where that happens to me. When you get in? Always empty.

Great place in the central area of Kyiv, probably one of the best bars in the capital. Great selection of the different cocktails, I especially liked those with passionfruit. The place is quite popular among the foreigners and normally quite crowded. The service is fast.

This bar is fantastic. The atmosphere is unique, the mixologists talented, and the staff is super attentive. Shout out to Sergey, who is the friendliest security staff around and Lena who practices true alchemy behind the bar. Love this place. I visit every time I’m back in Kyiv. If you are in town for the first time it’s a must visit.

It was a great experience as we rented the room for corporative party! Alchemist bar seemed a cozy, well-ornamented place conveying fully the idea behind its name. Visitors - beautiful people. Loved this place. Will come back again.

Great bar, with the best cocktailz in the town. I definitely recommend this place to foreigners and for locals. This is the best place for Friday night party.

Really cool place. Awesome club style music and vibe. Ordered two beers and they were served warm? We told the barman about it and were told ‘they’re all like that’. Guy next to me has an ice cold one. Am I asking too much? Either way, waste of money.

I went here a couple of times, atmosphere is good, live and su music good, nice cocktails but they refuse me and my friends whenever it’s crowded or Fridays. The girl said it’s full but of course she lied she just doesn’t want Middle Eastern looking men! She took more people in front of eyes after she lied us and laughs! It’s not face control it’s racism!!!

Cocktails were good but not outstanding, atmosphere was enjoyable but quite noisy.No free water was offered, which I would expect in a proper cocktail bar.

Lovely place. The food was very good, drinks are very good, and the live band were fun and entertaining. At that point the place is loud so take it into account. We had fun!

Definitely one of my favorite bars in Kiev. You can always count on a good time and a nice crowd. Sometimes they have face control at the door but most of the time youll get in if you dress business casual. Drinks are comparatively priced to the rest of the bars in Kiev. Theres also a pretty cool secret back room if you can weasel your way inside by the tall slim doorman. Cocktails her amazing and bartenders really love with they do here. Had excellent service from Alina. The drinks were very good and a single glance to the server had her coming to take our orders. I can honestly say i never had a better service in my life at a bar. Good job!

Amazing bar with very reasonable prices. There was live music between 9 and 10, so could get a bit loud. Food is also really good.

It is nice and cozy underground bar. Live band even on weekdays, a good band. Variety of cocktails, but only one beer. How come a bar like this has only one beer to offer? Nice staff, friendly and willing to accommodate clients requests. Please do stuck the bar with a variety of beers too.

Excellent bar with really good cocktails. Ukrainians have a lot less of a sweet tooth and the herbal cocktail I had was excellent. In fact both were really good. Central location. Near Berrabsky Market. Garnishes and methods were very professional

Way. Too. Noisy. Live music doesnt seem a good idea in such a small space, makes it absolutely impossible to communicate. Other than that, the place is really charming. I love how much attention theyve paid to details such as menu design, waiters leather aprons, or ceiling decoration. Chocolate fondant was excellent! Bar is overall worth visiting for its great cocktails, indeed.

Always a pleasant experience. The staff are super cool and they speak English well enough to serve you properly. The drinks are always excellent and dont be shy to ask for help. They have a large cocktail menu and will guide you through honestly. Weve ordered different food items every time weve been there and they never disappoint. We visited last on a Wednesday night and they had a live band play some cool tunes and a DJ playing a live set later on. The place was bumping and the DJ had everyone dancing.Excellent atmosphere, excellent food & drink, and excellent service. A must-visit!

Great atmosphere in this pleasant bar that over the weekend becomes a club with a rather small dance floor. Getting cozy with one another may be though precisely why guests at this cocktail bar come to the place ;The bar is well supplied, with a favorite being the White Russian (no politics implied!)The crowd is more artsy, hipstery and less pretentious than in other Kiev night hangouts.

Loved this place. You enter down steps from main street - an underground location. Very small but very popular. Not really enough space for everything. The bartenders are worth watching preparing the cocktails. Good selection, quite expensive. Fantastic live music and some great bands. The dance floor /bar becomes chaotic - too many people, but its a great place in the heart of Kiev . Definitely worth visiting!

A surprisingly hot place. In the heart of Kiev late evening. Mostly locals. Normal city people enjoying themselves while drinking cocktails, dancing, talking and having fun. Was crowded yesterday night. Music was a great mix of 80s, 90s and modern acts. For everybody liking tiny places with an easy going atmosphere a must!

Great cocktails, great service. We came directly from another place in the area where it took 30 minutes to get served in an empty bar, and this was a welcome improvement. Drinks are professionally made (not watered down, not too strong), and the cheese plate was great. Also had dancing! Not my thing, but everyone else seemed to love it.

Visited monday morning. Probably the best breakfast ive ever had. Everything was exquisit and you can sense they were made of love. Highly recommended

The Alchemist is the best bar we visited in Kiev. They attract a really friendly local crowd that is ready to dance, they have a good rotating roster of visiting DJs, the drinks are very good, and the bar staff is extremely friendly and professional. We didnt eat here, but the food in their restaurant also looks good. Highly recommended if youre in the area and looking for a fun, young, down to earth crowd to party with.

The cocktails, once they arrived, were quite good, but we waited for over 20 minutes for them to arrive! We watched other tables get their drinks and even food, asked our waitress to check on the drinks twice, all to no avail. We will not be going back, as that kind of wait is completely unacceptable. As an aside, the prices are quite high by local standards, on par with Western Europe/US. The service is not.

Its always a pleasure to be here, however the music sometimes lets you down. Go to the private room if you want to be in a more quiet environment. Cocktails are all amazing, the guys pour their passion into it.

Definitely one of the best bar in Kyiv! Place is popular for both local and foreigners. Atmosphere is amazing, cocktails are very good, music is good also, refined audience. Good place for dance but dance floor is pretty small. Dont miss hidden room and reserve a table if you want go there in prime time (around 11pm - 01:30 Fri-Satbecause the place is small so completely full that time and they dont allow you go inside.
