Alba Restaurante Español - Spanish restaurant in Manila, Philippines
Kept on coming back here because i love their food..
Try the Paella Valencia (good for 2). For the dessert, dont missout on the Chocolate Tower 👌🏼
Good food but I am not really into Spanish cuisine. But the torta dessert and coffee combination is the bomb!!!!
I keep on going back to Alba’s as they have Excellent service and great Spanish cuisine.
Superb dining experience -- delicious authentic Spanish food and impeccable service at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
The food wasnt really that good for the price. The meat was so hard to chew that we did not ate at all waste the meal & money in my opinion.
Friendly for groups and families ... Cuisine is good, service is competent
Nice place, classy but affordable food.. i recommend this resto ☺️
Alba has been here for decades and its charm still remains. Their ingredients are of great quality. Paella negra and gambas al ajillo are my favorite here! Their selection of Spanish food are extensive and all tastes satisfyingly authentic, well except for their desserts. Not all of their postres are a delight. Still, five stars for Alba for great Spanish food and attentive waitstaff.
The food is consistent, what I hope to see improved is the ladies room. Upgrade it to include washer n better water pressuren better ventilation. Its super old na
One of the best Spanish resto
Too salty dishes ruined great menu, service and ambiance.
Old favorites like the gambas, croquetas, lengua, and of course, the paella, are as delicious as ever but sadly, since our pre-pandemic visit, the paella seems to have shrunk. Its no longer a raised mound, fully touching the edges and rising at the center, but has been smooshed to the center of the paellera, with the outermost edges almost an inch below the rim. Inflation and the long lockdowns have not been good to this iconic restaurant. Perhaps management should state that their current paella as a main entrée, is good for only 2 adults. It takes 30 minutes to prepare so by the time this and the lengua arrived, it was too late to order anything else.
Place is cozy and conveniently situated. Paella and callos is great. Staff is accommodating. Everything would have been great except for the rest room... But anyway we had a great time 😃
Had dinner to celebrate our anniversary and food were all good. Staff are commendable for good service. I expensive place for authentic Spanish cuisine we will come back gain.
Informal biz lunch meeting among really close acquaintances.Their treat. Our funds. For a "sosyal" spanish cuisine restaurant, its worth the price of their specialties like Paella, Beef Salpicao & Callos. Not heavy but just right.Dessert was brewed Americano(sa Capuccino with Dark chocolate slice & cheesecake slice.A return trip is in the offing.
Good foodGood ambienceGood service
We tried two paella dishes, and both were good! Servings and prices are reasonable. The spice level is fine but if youre quite sensitive to spicy foods I suggest you tell the waiter to ask the cook to tone it down a bit.
5 star service, parking can be better. Food was amazing.
Delicious comfort food, reasonable prices, very helpful staff. Altogether a pleasant experience for take out food.
This place is already an institution in Tomas Morato. Its one of the few places that have survived decades upon decades of urbanization I Quezon City.Alba will remain a staple for Spanish options. In fact, for our family, it still is top of mind if were holding a reunion with friends or relatives. I guess my only qualm about this is the lack or parking. Although they have valet attendants to address this, Alba deserves a bigger place.
Weve been to this place a few times over the past few years. Prior to the pandemic, they used to have a buffet option - which is what we would get so we could try a little of everything they have to offer. Now thats no longer an option, so we ordered up a few of their house specialty dishes. The Paella Valenciana was flavorful as expected. However what it lacked was the burned underside - the "tutong" - which I really like. It gave me the impression that the Paella was not cooked in the paellera it was served in as there wasnt a single scorch mark on the bottom of the pan.Anything with garlic is laden with crunchy brown garlic bits which have no hint of bitterness whatsoever indicating that they are perfectly done. That was evident in the Gambas Al Ajillo and Sopa de Ajo. For garlic-lovers out there, you may want to try these dishes.Overall, anything they marked as a house specialty is definitely worth trying. The next time Im back here, I will specifically ask that they burn the paella a bit (if possibleas that was the one thing that I can say failed my expectation.
My moms favorite Spanish Restaurant with the best Paellas in town.
We (coupleordered the paella negra and tabla de embutidos. The paella negra is delicious and is almost the same as I remember it taste like back when I had it in Spain. Only their version has too much sauce. I have nothing to compare the tabla de embutidos because I have not been able to taste the same kind before. But it does taste like a treat for my palate. I could not ask for more about the ambiance. Overall, an authentic Spanish dinner experience (especially if youre having dinner 9pm onwards).
The place is quiet and dainty. From the security guard to the waiters on the floor, everyone was very respectful and very accommodating.I especially liked the squash soup and iced tea, I would recommend you have the soup as your starter.Gambas were delish, who would go wrong with shrimp? :)Do not forget to squeeze the lime on your paella, it gives the perfect twist to the dish!
great taste and awesome fine dining. although the food is focused on spanish dishes which im not fond of. I still liked how they serve the food.
I had dinner in Alba a few days ago, because I had to clear my head and I wondered if a paella and a glass of wine would do the trick. Loved the interiors, loved the servers, loved the food. Definitely one of the best restos Ive tried recently.
I love the ambiance here. I give 5 stars for the hot rolls they serve it was really delicious. The paella unfortunately wasnt impressive, but they serve their food with care. And the servers were alert. They do add 10% service charge to the bill.
Theyve accepted us even in the last hour. Served good quality hot dinner rolls. Gracious hosts Id give 5-stars for their service. Excellent Paella Marinera, Croquet and Mixed Vegetables. Good serving size for the price in everything we have ordered. Id give 5-stars for food. Good ambiance I wish they had better lighting. But in terms of food they served everything hot and fresh. They also have these Christmas Giveaway baskets full of preserved meats, wine and Quezo de Bola at 3500. Serves desserts and coffee. Consider Alba as an honest fine dining restaurant. With a humble consideration for PWDS and Senior Citizens on discounts. Wed be back to try other meals and custom made preserved meats.
Alba is one of the older restos along Morato Ave. In my opinion, they are one of the best when it comes to spanish cuisine. Tried their Salchichas appetizer and it was flavorful. The Paella Valenciana was cooked just right. The Lengua Sevillana was very palatable. Service wise, the waiters were very courteous and attentive to our needs. Highly recommended!
The food was great. Loved the Vaca Asado, it was very tender. Pumpkin soup was delicious. Wished they had cheese to go wtih the crackers. The lengua and callos were nice as well. Pasta, a little dry. The paella was like how I remebered it a few years back. The only downside was that they forgot about my reservation, the night prior. Everything else, was great.
Loved the paella Valenciana. More saccarato would be appreciated. Band could use more variations of upbeat songs. Ambience is superb setting is your are looking at a relaxing evening while enjoying the food and company
Didnt order much, but the ones we got were very good. Paella with lechon was nice, though pics made me think it was a much bigger serving than it really was.Bread could be fresher.Good service.
Always loved the food here but our last visit fell short as we were expecting to see more than 1 kind of paella at the buffet and some dishes didnt quite hit the spot. Desserts also need to improve. Their canonigo isnt as good as before. Quality of food has declined given the higher buffet rate.
The Paella, chicken meatballs, and the cold cuts were amazing. The only thing I didnt like when I ate there was the chorizo pasta. It wasnt super bad but I think it could have been done better.
Great food! I live their Paella and Lengua!
There is an air of sophistication in the place and nice ambiance. The staff are very efficient and always ready to help. The price is moderately expensive for me. You can go for their buffet or also order separate meals. They have a space for small functions. They also have frozen and preserved goods that you can order for take away. In our visit we availed of their lunch buffet as celebration for my friends birthday. It wouldnt be my 1st place in mind if I would pay the bill since its 800+ for a limited buffet options. For me value for money is inportant.
Came here to try the buffet but found it pretty small with a limited selection. Not really a good choice for someone that doesnt eat pork. Pretty much everything had pork except the steamed veggies and battered fish (at least I hope they didnt). Would definitely give it a miss next time I come by as there are many options around.
Its a good family place that serves buffet dinners for 900++ per head. Their ala carte food isnt bad either. Had Paella ala Valenciana (ridiculously filled with meat, chorizo, and seafood, one order is probably good for sharing for 3 people), their mango and arugula with Jamon Serrano, and their Gambas Al Ajillo. Overall, the ambience reminds me of old world charm and festive family gatherings. Try it when youre in Tomas Morato.
Great place for intimate dinners. Not a fan of the part when a trio of musicians sing by your table though. Buffet menu had a great selection and taste
My all-time favourite Spanish restaurant. If they happen to not be serving a Spanish food that you wanted, you can request and they might just cook one especially for you, as included in the buffet. They cooked my favourite Callos which just so happened they didnt have that particular day that I came. Thanks Alba!
They offer buffet food at a high price. The choices were limited, the taste was not so great although i did like some of their desserts such as the lychee jello and leche flan. The service crew did an exceptional job in serving us. Hopefully theyd be able to improve their menu
The ambiance is very appealing! The staff are friendly and accommodating and theres even a live band that goes from table to table, singing songs of your choice with a sexy spanish twist. The food is definitely the star of the show though, and I come back for their meat platters alone, also for the callos. Definitely worth your money if you have a ravenous appetite! Their star dishes mostly involve meat, keep that in mind when inviting your loved ones with specific lifestyle choices. This is recommended for:✓ Spanish food lovers✓ People willing to pay for quality food✓ People who are sick of traditional buffetsThis is not recommended for:✓ People on a budget✓ Vegetarians/Vegans
Their Spanish Chorizo is delicious. The other dishes i have yet to try. They have a buffet for around 800 pesos only. Ambiance is nice but where we are seated was quite cold, which made us eat our food faster so we can leave asap.
There werent as many dishes as in other buffet establishments but all were of very, very good quality. The food was great! Service was very good. The ambience was just in keeping with their Spanish theme. Check out their array of tapas and cakes........ great to give as gifts.
Delicioso! Value for money and food quality is top notch!
Food is a mix: theyve got decent lengua, but the paella negra does not work well for their buffet set up.Atmosphere is great, and what really makes this place work. Its warm, inviting, and they have a band.Great place for family dinners, especially if you have a large and hungry family.
Paella was great as expected. We are also a fan of their cold cuts. Affordable and comforting Spanish food :)
Elegant dining at its finest. Delicious food and authentic Spanish dishes offered. Try out their paella negra and callos!
It our very first time to eat here and the food is excellent except for the paella which I have been hearing from my friends to be their forte. I was disappointed because its too salty for me so i asked my daughter to taste it coz it might just be me but she also said its salty. Be as it may I informed the waitress about it. When our bill came, they have taken it out of the bill.. Very generous and will definitely go back and maybe i will ask them next time to lessen the salt so i may fully enjoy the paella.. Highly recommended specially the appetizers.
