Alamo Cafe - Cafe in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Food was good. Atmosphere was ok.
Good food. Run by good cook. Welcoming family.
An excellent experience. I had the Alamo chicken (see picwhich is stuffed with cheese and jalapenos and rolled in spices before cooking. It was fantastic. My wife had chicken wings. She couldnt finish them, so I got to try them too. Absolutely delicious. Large portions of quality food at competitive prices: the perfect combination.
The taste of Texas away from home. Food is delicious and portions large. Excellent value with authentic taste.
They have now moved to Riverside area. In the little alleyway that connects St 154 & 172, Just around the corner from Sundance.
Good Tex-Mex food
Love, love the food here and the family is wonderful.
Best BBQ ribs in town. Yummy!
Jalapeño poppers are best I’ve ever had! Great food and great food! So glad we found this gem!
My home away from home...always delicious, always served with a smile!!!
My husband and I found this place after visiting Tuol Sleng. They offered Tex mex which immediately caught our eye. Being a huge fan of jalapeno poppers, we decided to give it a try. Omg! These poppers were made fresh. I made love to them in my stomach. Unfortunately, now i will never be able to find any to match the quality and flavor of the ones i had there. My husband ordered the tacos. We could almost hear the chorus line saluting the piece of heaven before us. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. The chef is amazing. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into the food. Its family owned and operated. The company is amazing as well as the conversations. Fresh and delicious and we thank you all. Cant recommend this place enough.
My wife and I came across this gem walking to the museum. The familiar items grabbed our attention as we havent seen most of the items in SE Asia so far. It was a toss up between here and another restaurant very near, we chose Alamo and thats when things went, Horribly Right! First the welcoming faces and smell of smoked meats are always a good sign. I had the soft tacos and my wife had the jalapeno poppers (which are usually frozen from a bag back homeand they were handmade and amazing! The tacos had so much flavor and so well balanced Im not sure I can resist not going back tomorrow for round 2. The host are a family and take great pride in their work, it shows....on your taste buds. DO NOT MISS THIS GEM! Such nice people with the wife being the head chef and a restaurant veteran making the menu. Do yourself and your stomach a flavor (pun intendedand stop in to make new friends. If you dont have time they are more than happy to do takeout or delivery. Thank you all again!
So far I have only ordered once but the Chicken Fried Steak was very good and the price is also reasonable. It was delivered hot to my office, I will be ordering more dishes and can recommend the food at Alamo Cafe.
I like the chicken fingers and fries very much.
I eat here often because I leave satisfied with both the taste of the food and portion size. Is it normal American portions, no but then were in Cambodia not America and not everyone wants to eat that much in this heat. Of course there is the price as well. Most of the main menu is $5.75 and I truely get my monies worth at Alamo Cafe. The owner/chef was initially trying to do just takeout and delivery but because of people like me who want to sit down somewhere and jaw a bit shes had to rethink her whole business. Now shes had to take a good part of her cooking space and install tables for customers. Her cooking space has shrunk to less than a third of the original area and it gets crowded. I know her and her husband are trying to expand the cooking area which will make it less crowded and will look much more professional. I can only wish them good luck as it will continue to be a steady eating spot for me...
Really good food. Ive eaten here a few times and always thought it was great. The jalapeno poppers are awesome. I cant understand these negative reviews, and I seriously doubt that the one saying they had to go to the hospital is truthful. These sound to me like a competitor or someone with a personal issue with the owner or something. The cooking is done right there in front of the customers, so it is pretty obvious that the cleanliness is good. I never order chicken fingers but I saw someone elses order and it certainly wasnt small. The portions are not huge, but Ive never felt as if they were undersized. Im always full when I leave. The appearance of the place is not great. I would never bring someone there who I was trying to impress, but it is clean and good enough. I alerted the owners to these reviews but they said that because they have never been able to receive the verification postcard from Google, they cant respond.
Had the chicken quesadillas, wow. Best Mexican food Ive had since actually being in Mexico.
Great place! Wonderful service!
