Alabama Song Bar in Perth

If I could rate this place less than one star, I would.I was mocked and initially denied entry because the crowd controller deemed me "intoxicated" despite not having drunk a drop of alcohol that night.When it was explained to the crowd controller by my two friends that I have autism (hence some of my quirks and social miscuesthe crowd controller still refused and an approved manager was called.Eventually, I was allowed entry on the undertaking I did "not drink any alcohol inside" of which I upheld.I then elected to file an email to the management about the concern for not only myself, but other customers who may have intellectual disabilities and be misjudged.Management responded saying "It is the crowd controller`s call and we respect that"So be warned - if you have an intellectual disability and want to drink here, you may be mocked and have your quirks shredded to bits.

The atmosphere is amazing, great band behind the chicken wire and so many good drinks. Bar staff are next level and friendly door staff too. Well done guys

It would be good if we didnt sit waiting for another round of drinks at the bar, with empty glasses, while the fella working the bar chatted with his mates ignoring us.

Tried to order a chicken burger without cheese and was told this was absolutely not possible as the owner does not allow any substitutions at all. I’m unsure if this is true or if the person who served us was just rude and not wanting to help. We explained that my partner has a dairy allergy but she still said substitutions of any kind are not allowed.Be careful if you have any dietary requirements - if so probably best to go somewhere else as they are completely unwilling to accomodate even small changes.

Nice cozy ambient with pretty good burgers too!

Great atmoshere, drinks and entertainment as well as a welcoming type of clientel. Had a great night there.

$10 burgers on a Thursday is great! Fantastic tasting burgers and a decent selection of beers on tap.

Great place, good vibe.Tucked down the alley, with some great drinks and cocktails!Highly recommend the Cherry Coke cocktail, out of this world.

This is my favourite dive bar. Always go for wings on Wednesday and Sundays

If I could give 0 stars I would. A mate of mine got his Id confiscated as the security deemed it to be fake…his card will come back to him from the police as it is real, the security guard should have a good check at his ego before making decisions, we couldn’t even speak to the venue manager as we wanted to get his Id back and not even enter the venue at this stage. As a bartender who constantly checks ID, this was handled poorly and we sure won’t be coming back.

It was good fun, bartenders were friendly and looked after me very well. Chips were nice, however would have liked to try a bit more of the cocktail list next time

I am an old guy but if I were 18 again I would make this the bar I drank at. Good atmosphere.

Unfortunately my friend group had a bad first impression of Song Bar due to a ridiculously rude & aggressive staff member - “John” (the name he gave meon the 11/12 Sat night. We got to Alabama Song & the place was packed so we were standing to the side deciding what to do as there wasn’t much seating at the time - John stormed over & asked us to move as we were standing near the bar entrance - we immediately obliged for him and stepped to the side. John then stormed back over & demanded we move again as we were near the kitchen serving bar (note there was no food there & there was no where else for us to practically stand in that specific moment- due to there being no seating & John’s bizarrely aggressive behaviour we decided to try a different bar instead - we immediately starting walking towards the stairs to leave when John took it upon himself to start touching my female friend - whereby he was touching her back/lower back to usher us out. I told John that there was no need for him to put his hands on my friend, he responded “don’t tell me what to do” and began stalking us out of the bar & ran to security despite the fact that we had done literally nothing wrong, we had immediately complied with his rude demands to move, & had voluntarily left the bar ourselves without being asked. This guy was on a serious power trip & has issues thinking it’s ok to touch women without their consent - disgusting man. Sadly ruined our entire first experience here as it otherwise looked like a cool bar.

Rude doormen! On the way out, I missed the step and fell. The doorman and his friend simply laughed. No one bothered to ask if I was ok or helped me, which made me feel more embarrassed than I already was. These two ‘men’ just looked at each other and laughed hysterically.If it wasn’t for this happening I wouldn’t have bothered to review the rest of the venue but since I’m here, this place is a dive! Took forever to get a drink, no menus (not that you’d be able to see it even if there were as you’re practically walking in the darkand all tables and chairs were either full of other people’s half eaten chicken wings or piled up glasses.The only positive is that bar staff were polite and clearly trying their best.

Awesome atmosphere. However it was a bit cramped. The burger was a bit sloppy but the wings are amazing and super cheap.

Staff are nice and so were the drinks, highly acclaimed by friends. Wednesday wing nights are a great deal with a group of people. Some gripes I had were that the lighting was pretty lacking, I know it is supposed to fit the aesthetic, but still wasnt awesome to experience. And I couldnt order just chips without the jalapenos or sauce, bit odd. But other than that the food tasted really nice :)

Love this place. It’s in an alleyway off of the main drag. Start here, then go down to the basement to Joe’s Juice Joint. Great combo and there’s nothing else like these two in Perth.

This is a fun place after you have been out there own beers taste pretty good. Love the cage where the band plays Blues brother stuff. Staff work real hard to beer to the masses lol.

Awesome bar. Great service from the bartenders who have great banter. Along with the amazing food, they also serve jerky and peanuts as bar snacks. Great country vibe. Will always be a regular. Good work guys.

Hard to find, which made it fun for me. Took a picture of the art work on front entrance and then carried on looking, Its like a secret spot ;Nice and cosy, old fashion charm, lots of timber, gentle lighting, cherry cola and BOBBY LONG SOUR is delicious and food is so tasty wow, wonderful atmosphere, I will be back for sure, the design and decor is a treat, its like you have walk back into a classy old school vibe.

Its been 85 mins and still havent got our food order .. been up to the bar three times and been told "10 mins" every time. Paid $17 for 2 hours parking and its not worth the hanging around any longer.Super super disappointed 😩Edit:Manager has given us a refund, and a drink on the house. Promises to bring out food in 5 mins.Star rating changed to 3

Had amazing experience here. Large variety of American whiskey, rye and bourbon.Small range of cocktails, but each one is made with theatre and taste great. They have a smaller food menu and they do it right. The double beef and spicy chicken burgers were fresh and filling. Surely visiting again.

Very cool bar! Will return when not wearing heels!! The whisky sour is a must.

We booked 2 booths (12 seatsand put down a $100 deposit to secure them for 7pm, bar staff claimed the had no knowledge of the booking. At this point we showed them the recipe they sent us and email confirmation and again they refused to honor the $100 deposit, claiming Sarah the manager is the only person who can put it through there system, they didnt even have there managers number to get in contact!!! After 90 minutes of getting screwed with a different manager appeared and finally honored our tab, bar staff were polite even though they were put in an uncomfortable situation. My advice is book directly at the bar in advance as the management of this establishment were absolutely hopeless and unprofessional, me and my friends will not be returning... Maybe if they get new management

Great American South themed bar. Open till late at night and well worth a visit.

This place is great, the hot wings are delicious and if you are a whiskey drinker, they have a huge selection. The atmosphere is great although a bit over done with the novalties. Over all if you come here with friends you are going to have a great night

Great venue. Best in Perth.However the door staff are unbelievably ridiculous with their exclusion rules.If you finish a cigarette or do anything other than walk straight in, you are clearly a meth head or unduly intoxicated.This is the second time that I have been refused entry and I am 50+, drug free and entirely respectful and not unduly intoxicated.It is sad that they allow the disruly but oust the mature and non confrontational.

A themed bar but doesnt quite hit the mark. Too shiny to be a real Southern bar, and the decor far too cliche. Staff seem bored and tired. Didnt get to try the food, but the drinks are overpriced, and it isnt a bar Id hurry back to. Apparently owned by the same guys that own Sneaky Tonys, but do whiskey instead of rum. I love a gimmicky bar but this one isnt my jam. Love the architecture though.

This is a extremely popular place for all age ranges. Entrance leaves a lot to be desired. There was a live band upstairs and downstairs younger music again catered for all tastes. It is nothing like the real Alabama bars. The high light is there is no cover charge, just as well otherwise it would be empty. Seating is not the greatest to sit and relax and enjoy a drink, but most people prefer to stand I guess.

Epic western themed bar, great cocktails and live music.

I love this place. Every time I go there they play good music and there is interesting people around. They also have 50 cents chicken wings a piece. Personally recommend the *F#@KING H/S Wings, súper spicy, that make it easier being so far away from Mexico while I expend this wonderful days in Perth.

Great American western styled bar!Nice wing special and drink variety.Most of the service is really friendly and fast. However, some seemed to be slacking, so we ended up waiting way too long to order. This unfortunately happened twice already, despite it being fairly empty the second time.Great bar though! I’d give an overall 4.5/5

Spacious n nice food. Free peanuts. Various beers. Live band early night upstairs. Great atmosphere. Downstairs basement is fun too.

Delicious whiskey sours, excellent range of whiskeys, and they made me a serve of their nachos without the meat which were scrumptious! There was live music and the atmosphere was fun and pleasant. The bar staff are friendly and professional too, great service.

Great small American style chicken-wire bar with a crazy amount of whisky selections to choose from. Bar staff are always helping with recommendations and provide fast efficient service. Good for small groups probably between 1-7 people with table and chair arrangements and also booths against the wall.

What a great place! Truly genuine US backroad tavern! With the all the right stuff, from lighting to smell to bullhead on the wall to the net in front of the band playing. Fantastic atmosphere!It is hard to find, the entrance is in an alley... you really have to look for it.

Hidden Gem! Amazing American style whiskey/Bourbon bar open late in North bridge. Bar staff are really friendly and have excellent knowledge of the whiskey selection.30c Wings on Sundays!!! We will definatley be back to try the full menu now we know this place has a full kitchen. The atmosphere is really cool and they have regular live music.

This bar has been decorated very well as to feel like a genuine old bar in the USA. The only thing that felt overdone was the chicken wire around the stage, but apparently that is an iconic image that many people have of bars in the US. The best selection of bourbon and whiskey in town, descent beers, and a live band that seemed to play all night. All of this without a cover charge. Ill definitely be back.
