Airy public square featuring landmark monuments & structures, including the State History Museum.
Good place to roam around and take photos.
Cool square, open and big, opposite is a beautoful garden for sitting with colorful flowers. Funny to watch tourists try to take pictures of the flag guards and get in trouble.
Right in the city centre. This place has got the State History Museum opposite of it.
Nice vibrant place in the city center. There are many people and you can select among many restaurants too. Nice place for a walk. There are also parks, fountains, museums, entertainment part. You can select aming many program.
Very anticlimactic to visit, but great spot for sunset. We thought the neon lighting takes away from the monument(s). You can see the square in just a few minutes. If you want to walk over to the amusement park, it’s a 10 minute walk or less.
An important and impressive historic and culture square in the middle of Bishkek. If you’re there, be sure to visit the national history museum.
A muat visit
Nice area for walking and watching change of guards.
Ala too square BishkekMost visiting place
I always enjoy to be back in Bishkek; Ala Too square is definitely better looking now than some years ago. I suggest to pay a visit at the Museum and, if you travel with kids, they will surely like Panfilov Park. Close to Ala Too square there are a lot of very nice restaurants and cafes for every taste!!!
In the summertime after the sun goes down this is an excellent, family friendly place to enjoy cooler temperatures. Even small children are playing until after midnight.
There is a big statue of Manas and two soldiers are standing there with no movement. This place may be interesting for you if you have never been post-Soviet capitals before. But if you have been to one of them already, you will notice this one is not the best. But still good enough.
Ala Too Square is the place where organizes national, international events where can come city inhabitants and guests of the capital city. Here you can see monument of Manas, flag of Kyrgyzstan.
Very instagramable place. Nice vibe and scenic place.
Lovely square especially when its hot and the kids are playing in the fountains. Buy and icecream or drink and sit admiring the view. On the hour you can watch the Changing of the Guard beneath the flagpole
Really nice and open area with fountains, flags, and shops. At night theres a lot of entertainment around.
Stunning city square, well kept and worth a visit if you are in the city. The flag, fountains and image of Manas are fantastic
Big square with lots of benches and beautiful flowers. There are some fountains too.Good place for relax.
The place has a lot of things to offer and I would recommend you visit it with a local person who will help you understand a lot of things while you are there. The place during the weekend might be busy but in the other days it will be mostly empty.
feel good to be at herelovely wheather, random meetings with locals.Just go n enjoy the colour of sky too
Ala too Square is such nice historical place surrounded by little green parks. National history museum is also worth watching they kept alot of interesting old artifacts and war stories with the belongings of soldiers.
Nice place in the heart of the Bishkek.Good place for relaxing while enjoying many things😎.
During New year (NOWRUZin Kyrgyzstan!!
Great place to hang out with friends. You can ride scooty and rides here for mere fees. Also great during festivals like new year, Christmas and normal time pass obviously.
Ala-Too Square is Kyrgyzstan’s main square, located in the center of Bishkek. Ala-Too in Kyrgyz means “great mountain”, symbolizing the mountainous terrain and nature of the country. Ala-Too is a popular place for festivals, celebrations, and holidays. Ala-Too is usually decorated with lights for Independence Day (August 31and New Years (featuring a large tree with traditional Kyrgyz designs).
🟢PROS :• Its an amazing place for hanging out with friends and family.• very vast with beautiful surroundings.• Lots of restaurants and cafeterias around.• good spot for clicking pictures.• Best time to go - During Christmas, New years eve and during summer.🔴 CONS :• mostly crowded• gets noisy around rush hours.Final Verdict : 5/5 ⭐
Historic place in Bhiskek where u find government buildings too. Historical statues with alot of cultural buildings and sites. Whole are is easy access able by walk. Required half and hour to visit all spots in this area. There is nearby tsum center where you can shop grocery and other historical articles. Taxis and buses widely available in this area.
Nice square in city center, so many flowers, fountain ⛲, fresh air, so much fun.
A wonderful place wherewe can see a lot of fountains and flowers.
The square was built in 1984 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic, at which time a massive statue of Lenin was placed in the squares center. The square was known as Lenin Square until Kyrgyzstan gained its Independence from the USSR in 1991.The statue of Lenin was moved in 2003 to a smaller square in the city, and a new statue called Erkindik (Freedomwas installed in its place. Later in 2011 it was replaced by a statue of Manas, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstans independence.
Such a beautiful square in Bishkek this is!During sunset, you can shoot amazing pictures here as the statues are becoming really nice silhouettes which fit perfectly with the sunset colors.Every time I was passing here, young people were hanging out as well skaters.Near this square there are lots of restaurants and coffee bars.
Such a beautiful place who want to take photo must come there and enjoy ride there💕💕💕❤️
This is very peaceful place with a beautiful history. The parliament house is located here. The picture shows a bullet mark on gate when the government decided to shoot people who were protesting against them, supposedly a number of people died.
Its a wonderful place to visit. Its represent the glory of Kyrgz Republic. You can also watch parade here. Overall its a good place.
white marble bulidings look beautiful .central area of governing authorities of country.fine and historic architectural style
A great location to take in a myriad of historical features. Also many shops around the square that offer many wares to choose from.
We went there a few days after the new year to look at lights and decorations. This year the ambiance seems a bit better then previous years. Good vibes and atmosphere overall, the only thing that bugged me was the amount of sales people who were selling little things for children, toys, sweets, etc. It felt like there were more sales people then visitors :)
Very nice place. Visit in the evening to spectacular guard changing ceremony.
Grand place nice to visit and people watch. On a Sunday lots of kids out playing on scooters and bikes. Also nice to seeThere are guards the flags who dont move and thats always fun to nitpick.Went in October the fountains are not filled , might be a summer thing only.Only a handful of street vendors too
Worth a visit if youre in the city as its close to many other important buildings. Great for a photo shoot - pushing with the statues.
The iconic centre of Bishkek. Peruse the huge square with a moment dedicated to Erkindik (freedom). Don’t forget to check out the stationer guards.
A very popular hangout spot for the locals right in the center of town, especially for walks in the evening.·Children swimming in the big fountain, people renting out scooters, roller skates etc. You can also hire a horse and carriage to take a tour around the park near by.·Recommend to come by in the evening to enjoy the vibe (and its Much less hot!)·
First of all ,this is a historical place for kyrgzPeople.. where a giant statue of Manas is there .. this is tourist sight where people go and spend time , take photos , have some food and enjoy in their own way.
Impressive park with monuments in the city park in central Bishkek. Come around 19:45 to see the changing of the guards and s beautiful sunset with the magnificent Tien-Shan mountains in the background.
Nice and cozy place where you can enjoy seeing both White House and National Museum. There are benches where you can sit but usually they are occupied on holidays. There is also a big Kyrgyz flag hanging on the pole and two guardians protecting it. There are also fountains and flowers where you can have a photo. There is also the statue of a national hero Manas. Nice place to get familiar with the history of the country and see local people.
It is the central square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan..there is a statue of Manas at the place.. it fairly big place and nice places to roam around.. you will see lot of families around this place.. state museum is right across it...
The best time to visit this place is in the evening, then youll see all those beautiful neon lights set up across the entire square.
Must visit place in town. Its pretty at the evening. There are a National Historical Museum, Manas and Ch.Aitmatovs monuments and fountains. The White House is nearby. And the Dubovyi Park behind the square.
Really nice place, gets very hot during the day but dont panic there are fountains that the local kids play in all day to cool down!!
Must visit! very spacious, great place to walk around. Its pretty empty during the day, but becomes hang-out central in the evenings.
