🌁 جسر الصرّافيّة 🌁جسر يقع على نهر دجلة في بغداد سمي شعبياً الجسر الحديدي، وسماه من يعيش بقربهِ جسر العلوازية أو جسر العيواضية أو جسر الصرافية والاسم الأخير هو الأشهر، وهو أحد جسور بغداد الثلاثة عشر فوق نهر دجلة ومن أقدمها عمراً. ولقد بدأ البناء في عام 1948 على يد الحكومة العراقية، وبالتعاقد مع الشركة البريطانية (هولوفي أواخر عام 1946 التي باشرت بتنفيذه. ويربط جسر الصرافية منطقتي الوزيرية التابعة لقضاء الأعظمية من جهة الرصافة ومنطقة العطيفية التابعة لقضاء الكرخ من جهة الكرخ.كان جسر الصرافية معداً للإنشاء في مدينة سيدني  في أستراليا  قبل أن تقرر وزارة الأشغال والمواصلات العراقية شراء هيكله الحديدي ومن ثم تعهد إلى شركة كوبربلايزرد بإدخال التحويرات المقتضية على هيكله، ولقد بدأ العمل بتنفيذه أواخر سنة 1946 من قبل شركة (هولوالبريطانية.قامت الشركة البريطانية (كوردبلايزردالهندسية بوضع تصاميمه لمدة استغرقت عامين، في حين قامت الشركة البريطانية (هولوفي أواخر عام 1946 بتنفيذه، وقد دفعت الحكومة العراقية تكاليفه، ويبلغ طول الجسر مع مقترباته 2166 متراً بينما يبلغ الجزء الواقع على النهر 450 متراً لذا عُدَّ أطول جسر حديد في العالم آنذاك، لأن الجسر الحديد المقام على نهر الراين بألمانيا كان يحمل الرقم القياسي بين الجسور الحديدية ولم يكن يتجاوز طوله 1500 متر مما أدى إلى أن يحطم جسر الصرافية الرقم القياسي المذكور، سيما إذا علمنا أنه يتكون من سبعة فضاءات خمسة منها بطول 58 مترا وفضاءان آخران بطول 80 مترا كما يبلغ عرض ممر السيارات 6 أمتار وعرض ممر السكة الحديد 4 أمتار وقد روعي في تصميمه وتنفيذه احتوائه ممرين للسيارات مع إمكانية جعل خط السكة المتري خطاً قياسياً من دون اجراء أية تحويرات عليه باستثناء تبديل قضبان السكة والعوارض الخشبية وملحقاتها ومن الجدير بالذكر أن سقف الجسر يتكون من هياكل الحديد الجاهزة فقد كانت مديرية السكك الحديد تعتمد على استعمال هياكل الحديد الجاهزة لسقوف الجسور التي أنشأت في تلك الحقبة وما قبلها.

This place is calm i went to a restaurant there for freshly grilled fish. They taste wow.It took them an hour and a half to grill it but it was worth the wait.3 people could eat a kg of fish.

Good honest to God English post Victorian solid steel truss engineering, what made england world renowned for its quality technology way back when. Built to stay, "wont go anywhere" as the British say.

The Sarafiyah Bridge is a bridge located on the Tigris River in Baghdad, popularly called the Iron Bridge, and those who live near it called it Al-Alwaziyya Bridge, Al-Aywadia Bridge, or Al-Sarrafiya Bridge. The last name is the most famous, and it is one of Baghdads thirteen bridges over the Tigris River and one of the oldest. The construction began in 1948 by the Iraqi government, and in a contract with the British company (Huluin late 1946, which began its implementation. The Al-Sarafiya Bridge connects the Al-Waziriya areas of Al-Adhamiya district from the Rusafa side and the Al-Atifiah area of ​​the Al-Karkh district from the Al-Karkh side.

Old and need alot of repairs, or just a replacement , crowded almost all the time , maybe its good for some photoshoots and walking around.

The al-Sarafiya bridge جسر الصرافيةcrosses the River Tigres in Baghdad. It was built in the 1940s or 1950s  and connected the two northern Baghdad neighborhoods of Waziriya and Utayfiya.Having been previously damaged by American bombing in 1991, the bridge partially collapsed when an abandoned truck bomb exploded on April 12, 2007 at 0700. At least 10 people were killed and 26 injured, though there were reports of 20 more trapped in cars that had gone off the bridge.The bridge was reconstructed in a year and two months and reopened on May 27, 2008.

The Iron bridge(local name)connect Al-Atifiya with Al-Wazyria region in Baghdad...It is one of the most historical and beautiful icon in Iraq.It has been destroyed twice ( 1st Gulf war, and at 2007 by terrorist explosion )and reconstructed by the Iraqi goverment .
