Kuwait, Ar Rābiyah
Artifacts at the original site of a storied Gulf War battle, including a bombed building & vehicles.
Good
It was closed so we only saw it from the outside but it’s well worth the visit. Covered in bullet holes and tank shell damage. A sad reminder of war
Very good place
important part of Kuwait history,
Good historical information but needs more clarification. Maybe a small movie theater or other videos could be put together to tie in all the relevant events. A time line before during and after the invasion would be nice also.
A must see to understand fully what the horrible regime under Saddam Husain did to Kuwait and the people (Martyrsthere.
It is a good place to see that impact of the invasion of the Iraqi army against kuwait
The place is where the kuwaiti resistants were placed to work for protecting kuwait on 1990-1991 from iraqi forces and the place where they got murdered. So the house shows where each person died inside and there is a room with their pictures names and role in the resistance with some of iraqi weapons used on them. الله يسكنهم في اعلى مراتب جناته ❤️
A beautiful place a must visit if your visiting the country and want to know about the darkest days in Kuwait those brave men who lost their lives fighting for freedom against Saddam Hussein forces. However the timings are open from 9 am till 4 pm.
That is Kuwait battle place so sad
Awesome museum and great historical story of kuwait
My house is right across the street from the museum. I see it every single day from my window. I have been to this place countless times since I was a child and I still do. Very proud of my fellow Kuwaiti citizens and soldiers who gave their lives to defend our people and our beloved country.
My small boys were very happy to see real tank (Iraqi T-54, most probably made in Russia)
Went there to show my kids this historical place.. Unfortunately it was closed so we decided to pay it a visit later.
This is one of few and significant places in Kuwait that stands forever as a testimony to what people actually went through during the first gulf war. Well kept and organized with proper working hours. I just can’t imagine what people who live close by it feel like every time they walk out of their homes!
Aug 2 1990 history
Direct Picture of Saddams force Atrocity towards Kuwait during 1991 Iraq Invasion
Very emotional especially for those who lived during that period and very useful for young generations to learn part of what happened during the invasion. This museum is the actual place where a battle took place on February 24, 1991 and martyrs died. The visitor may also see their weapons, photos, and even personal belongings. Outside there are the vehicles they were using during the occupation including the waters tanker vehicle.
Very thought provoking and powerful place. A must if visiting Kuwait.
Great to share the real story in Kuwait history upon Iraq invasion and how Kuwaiti try to defend thier land
It shows a piece of history that shouldnt be forgotten.Cool fact: it is the real place of the event not a replica.
An excellent wake up call for all visitors to see the horror of war and the horrific Iraqi attack and the bravery of those who perished
One of most seen places.. very important part of Kuwait history
Very important place, it shows how Kuwaitis defined there country against Iraqs invasion.
This museum is built in a damaged house of Kuwait during invasion by Iraq. This bears the symbol sacrifice by Kuwaiti people.
its only for quick tour. if you are kuwaiti better go here to look back your history.
The pride of Kuwait.. an epic battlenand sacrifice to Kuwait by her loyal sons on the eve of Liberation day.. on the day Kuwait won freedom these martyrs gave their souls freely for land and honour.. may they rest and live in glory for eternity
A vivid illustration of the effects of the invasion and liberation. Its a bit out of the way, and it would be nice if there was more information in English about the battle. Theres a free English booklet that basically reiterates what was in the signs Worth a visit, but it likely wont be a long one. Hours changed for Ramadan - it was open only after 8:30
Kuwait need to proud on this place. They need to add more details and signs of this house to understand the battle and pre work of the resistance
A lot of history and excitement see how a group of Kuwaiti men survived
Its the place which tells its sad story by itself. The Iraqi invasion. They maintained the place very well just like frozen in the time and show cased most of the things very well with description in english also.
A place that I’ve been too many times as a kid and continue to go to as an adult (especially on national or liberation day). It’s a sad reminder of the Iraqi invasion in 1990-91.Many Kuwaiti citizens with no training formed resistance groups during the first gulf war. One such group was Almassilah group that used Alqurain “house” as a base. Iraqi troops discovered the group by chance when they were looking for houses to steal. Iraqi soldiers asked for back up and attacked the group in that house. Three Kuwaitis were killed straight away (places of their deaths are marked in the museum). Several, around 7, were captured, tortured and then eventually killed and several others managed to hide (the place they used to hide is also marked in the museum).Considerable effort was put to maintain this place and I think it was recently extended to put photos of other martyrs and prisoners of war (who were killed also). Also, there are many letters displayed (in Arabicin the new extension. These letters were exchanged between Iraqi officials at the time of invasion. Some weapons are also displayed in that area.Entry is free of charge. There are guides if needed.I noticed ramps for wheelchair users but upper floors can only be accessed through the stairs.Personally, I think every resident in Kuwait should visit this place. If you like this review please give it a Like 👍🏼
Small, but nice
The place have the remnants of the Iraqi war. A good reminder of the Kuwait Iraqi war fought and the Martyr who died in the War. There is a display of an Iraqi Tank, vehicles the Martyr used, the vehicle used to transport the resistance army, the van with bullet holes used to transport the kidnapped. The building holds and displays bullet marks. You can visit by entering the site and tour around the building. The Kuwaiti Flag is hoisted at the actual place where it was declared independance.A must visit place on the 25 & 26 Feb. My family and I truly enjoyed it. A historic place to visit
A historical place the belong the gulf war in 1990s , the palce is good maintained and forezen as it is. However it ia located inside a neighborhood . I think this can presented in better way . Because it is an important spot in the history od kuwait
This house in the Qurain region in Kuwait was one of the centers of the Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and a battle took place on February 24, 1991, where 12 members of the resistance were martyred . The National Council for Culture& Arts transformed the house into a museum to commemorate the martyrs and this epic. Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered the conversion of the house in which the battle took place to a historical museum. The battle of Beit al-Qurain is a national epic battle that highlights the role of the Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion, as it united all segments of Kuwaiti society.During his visit to the museum on April 14, 1994, Coalition Forces Commander Norman Schwarzkopf said: “When I’m in this house it makes me wish that we had come four days earlier, then perhaps this tragedy would not have happened.”
So sad Story behind this place! The place is well maintained !! Frozen in time!! Kind people works there they are really passionate about keeping the memory of that place alive!!
This is a place anyone who is interested in the 1990/91 Kuwaiti Resistance should visit. Youll need about 90 minutes. Plenty of parking, most of the exhibits have some English, and there is an English language booklet that helps explain what happened.
This place is quite unknown and shows details of the destruction and lives that were martyred during the war. Serene and quiet. A tribute to those who lost their lives for their country
Good to visit to see the real wounds of the war. No public transport to there so its better to hire a taxi.
Great place to visit and see a bit of history and get a glimpse of what the Kuwaitis endured during the gulf war
Great memories & brave resistance during the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait, needs some more professional guidance services
Amazing Historical place , needs some more guidness services
Amazing place it go to and learn new things
A startling review of what happened to these brave men who refused to give up on their beloved Kuwait by flying its flag.
brings back memories both sad and glorious
Very cool museum dedicated to the martyrs of the Iraq invasion
Alshuhada house very historical place with sad feelings cause kuwiti peple were die in this house in 91 after sadam husain The Iraqi invasion of Kuwait
a must.. well kept, wish the vehicles will be stored in close area though. too much effected by sun exposure
Thought provoking house where the Kuwaiti Resistance was based during the first Gulf War. An Iraqi tank is located outside: apparently the one that damaged the house and killed many Kuwaitis inside. A small museum downstairs documents the invasion.
