Saudi Arabia, Al Hufuf
Al Qarah Mountain - Tourist attraction in Al Hufuf, Saudi Arabia
Must visit especially if one is interested in cultural and historical places
Al Qarah caves - Definitely a worthwhile place to visit if you are going through Al Ahsa. You will surely enjoy the beauty and wilderness of the cave. You need to pay 50 sar per person to enter the cave. The walkway inside the caves are lighted and safe. If you are brave enough and flexible, you can explore the dark spots of the caves. Its so thrilling. You can find couple of souvenir shops and snack shop at the entry/ exit point.
Whether you are a tourist, a history enthusiast orjust a curious traveler, one of the highlights to visit at the eastern province is the Alqarah mountain found at AlAhsa of Alhofuf. In local dialect, known as "Jabal al Qarah". It is also called "Al Shaban Mountain," “Land of Civilization”, and some also called it as “Judas Cave.” It is indeed an UNESCO world heritage site.It is a sweet escape from the city. Inside the mountains, you will see very nice caves that have cool temperature bringing you back to how ancient people use these for comfort from the hot weather outside. It is a nature crafted mountains and well maintained by the management. The entrance fee is 50 Saudi Riyals. Upon going inside, you will pass by a small museum where early civilization is shown. There are also tour guides that will tell you yhe story of a local legend includes the role of the mountain in the life of the Prophet Ibrahim, King of Dilmun, sculpted structures related to Adam’s tale are also found. Information on Al Ahsa’s agriculture and irrigation will also be learned here. The hospitality of the young people will greet and provide you with local snacks such as coffee Arabia and dates not to mention the knowledge they will also provide you.
Cool place in hot deserts beautifully maintained for tourists Thank Saudia Arbia
Very wonderful family and Tourism place, you can see how nature shaped the stones and rocks. I remember visiting more than 15 years ago there were no clear path to follow. Now it is 100 times better.
Great historical place, goes back to thousands of years, it said this mountain has been covered beneath the sea thousands of years
Caves Looking very Beautiful.
Amazing experience where through tiny high holes inside the cave, a cool breeze comes inside which feels like and AC, and in fact you wouldn’t believe that it is 15+ degrees outside. Visiting Jabal Gara makes it clearer that the whole eastern region of Saudi Arabia, in addition to Basra, Kuwait, Bahrain island, Qatar, UAE belonged to an ancient civilization of Dilmun which then became the Bahrain region. Similar ancient Dilmunian ruins can be found in Bahrain through several old temples’ remains and forts. If you are nearby it is worth a visit 👍🏼
It does not worth 50 SAR for entry. The place is some cracks in sandstone with high risk of rock fall.
Entrance fees are very high. Nothing to see inside the hill. Time and money both will loss
Nice place to visit but not much to do inside. Also not good in summer.
Very Nice to Visit a Place like this....An Oportunity to be here in the Kingdom to see a great place like thus a Far from your own Country...Its a Great Day for all of Us...
I am not sure id this was worth 50aed, a one time visit place located in al ahssaGood scenery for pictures and nice place to explore
Amazing not enough, very beautiful and wonderful cave. Organized and clean.
Great historic place to be! Went there with family - and spent couple of hours - although there is not much of historic transcription there - it does have a magnificent feel to it.
The historic site in Al Hofuf eastern province in Saudi. The place for visiting in holidays with family and friends.Nice and beautiful visiting point.Entrance fee little high.
The cave is nice but 50 SAR ticket for almost 30 minutes in such small place is too much. However, The part of the mountain surrounding the touristic area is much more attractive and free of charge.
Al Qara Hill is something everyone should see at least once! I highly recommend it if you are looking to history. Great views the whole trip (especially seeing a lot of Palm trees)! The visitors center was partially under construction when I visited, but that didn’t really impact the views.
Tickets price is very expansive, it’s a natural place. If price indicated it shouldn’t exceed 10-15 SAR!!
It is an amazing historical place to visit in Alahasa. The ticket price is too expensive for the small place 50 sr. The need more improvement for the place such as adding coffee shops in the place. The should consider to lower the ticket price.
Best place to visit with family. Mountains are really beautiful a must visit entry fee is of 50 riyals for adults for children its free entry.
Best Place in AlHassa😍♥️
The Jabal Qarah (or Qarah Hills or Mount Qarahis at a distance of 10 kilometer from Hufuf. Hufuf is a city in the well-known Al Hasa Oasis of the Eastern Region. Hufuf lies about 140km southwest of Dammam and 300km east of Riyadh. Jabal Qarah is well known for its intricate natural caves and is a major tourist attraction in the east of Saudi Arabia.Best time to visit is at Maghrib (sunsetso you can witness day and night view of Qarah caves, they have put a nice lighting which looks mesmerizing
It was an amazing visit. The place is just amazing. The visit inside the cave will take about 20 minutes. If they provide coffee shops and restaurant inside it would be amazing and more attractive to visit as you pay 50 Sr. for entrance and the place is somehow small. So it will be more worthy to spend more time inside and have a great seatings.Note: you need to pay a ticket before you enter the cave.
One of the best tourist places to visit in Saudi Arabia. The only thing is the ticket fare 50 SAR is very high. To attract the tourist the ticket fare should be low which should fit in common mans budget.
Great tourist attraction. Services are very excellent. Guides are very friendly and helpful. In love with the place and had a very nice experience. Highly recommended.
Qara mountain or judas caves. It is a tourist attraction and usually busy at weekends.Tickets fee cost 50 SAR . Sometimes they make discount on tickets 🎟 and cost 10 SAR.One thing that is special about the caves , inside the temperature is steady throughout the year. Its around 20 degrees or so.If you visit it in summer the temperature will be cool and when visited in winter it will be a bit warm .
Very nice please to spend some time
Wonderful day, the place was great. I recommend this to everyone who wants to come to Al AhsaAl Qarah Is a place will be in the summer cold in side and in the winter worms in side. It is a beautiful place and there is insaide also some restaurants and coffee, u can also shopping 🛍
Amazing placeIt takes my breath away😻
AlQara hill one of the tourist destinations weather from the country or outside, I haven’t been there since 20 or more years and it has changed a lot, easier access and clean. The only dawn part to it I guess the price for entrance 50SR for an adult I guess it is too much, you will not spend more than 30 minutes inside “max” so it is a bit overpriced! Other than that you will enjoy inside 👏🏼♥️♥️
Place was nice, but charges were high. SAR 50 Per head is too much you can see all caves in 10-15 mins
Different experience.visit once to feel the stone age
Amazing place with wonderful wether.. one of Ahsa landmarks that must see and visit
What a majestic place ✨The museum is small and there is a lot of missing informationBut the caves are wonderfulThe fee to enter is 50 SR and I think it is worth it
A great place to enjoy with family and great natural cooling inside the cave...!
A recommended place to visit
جبل قارة الغني عن التعريف.A huge old muontun with a museum, the entering fee is around 50 Ryals but if you are a group there is discount, it has deep caves that you can enter, enjoyable at all the time day or night. Its a huge place if really want to finish it.
Al-Qarah mountain - (AKA Ali Baba & 40 thieves’s caveOne of the most important natural sights in KSA and registered in the UNESCO world heritage centres list.
This place had the opportunity to be one of the best heritage location in AlHassa but unfortunately there is no clear explanation about the place or the historyThey mix between general information about the history in the world, Egypt, Northern areas and a lot of long text on the wooden signage with quran ayat and religious point of view..i respect that but at least talk more about this specific place. Tell more about the local history and who was here and why ?Other than that i wish the museum adapte better way to provide unique experienceAny how it was a good experience beautiful and prime heritage location but poor operation and wasted opportunity
The history of this place is amazingPictures would never describe how magnificent this place is. Highly recommendedWare a hiking shoes. There are facilities so don’t worry about packing food.I would recommend to find a local Tourism offices they will offer a very nice packages for visitors.
Qara Mountain is the perfect place to visit when you are seeking family adventure. On the outside, the view of the mountains are breathtaking. Then on the inside, there are many tunnels and exploring through them, was incredibly fun. Even though, they are open until midnight, I suggest to go in the morning because then, sun rays can seep through the small cracks of the mountain, lightly brightening up the caves resulting in some out of this world photos. The best part about Qara Mountain is the freedom you are given, there are no limits to your adventure and this made the trip unforgettable.
One of the must visit attraction in the Eastern region and Saudi Arabia.Entry fees SAR50 per person above 13 years.Prepare your camera and feelings for this amazing and charming attraction.I highly recommend it.
This place is a whole LOT better than I expected, and I expected a lot! Some of the most interesting rock formations Ive seen, it was really fun to explore and I wouldnt mind revisiting it any chance I get. It was perfect in winter, although I imagine it would be a pleasant experience in summer as well. Great for taking photos. سبحان الله
You can see the beauty of the rock formations that only be seen in this part of the world.Visit and experience otherwise you will miss half of your life 🥰🥰🥰Good tourist spot for KSA.
Wonderful place you need to visit in alhufof.. alhassa 🤍💙
Alqara hill was located near Altaraf and the site is a UNESCO heritage listed place. The ticket to enter is 50SR Per head. Not much big, may be 15-20 minutes venture. Better to visit in the early morning or later after 4 pm as it was quite hot in September. Although the caves were very cool and is a good place for family visit if you are visiting passing from nearby. They can develope it more to encourage more visitors, as only few people were seen coming and visiting the place on weekend.
This charming tourist attraction is a must place to visit when you are in Eastern Saudi Arabia. It was formed by sub aerial weathering. It is a series of many caves within a small mountain with cavernous walkways juxtapositioned between tall gullies all beautifully gentrified with verses from the Koran to inspire you as you discover this beautiful place. It’s an amazingly cool and tranquil. There is a charming museum and gift shop as well as a cafe and the whole exhibit is immaculate. It is close to the pleasant nearby town Al Asha
I’ve been wanting to visit this place for awhile and finally I got the chance to go there this summer. We went late in the afternoon, just before sunset when the weather was starting to cool off. It was not to busy. It was worth the visit. As much as it is hot outside, inside the Hill it is very cool. There are coffee shops and restaurants near the Hill as well as in the visitor center.
Beautiful place..specially after renovations. Good place to vist with family and kids. Its relatively easy to navigate in and around the caves. Over all its a good weekend destination.
