Al Oud - Moroccan restaurant in Fes, Morocco
Good food, super friendly service
We just had Creme caramel and the famous Jawhara (milk pastillawhich were out of this world! 10 out of 10 for desserts 🤤
Touristic, but nice restaurant on the main street of Medina. Good service, friendly staff, we enjoyed the Morrocan soup and tea. Little bit more expensive but still okay (circa 60 dh per person for soup and drink).
Lovely place with a great vibe. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly.
Whenever we ordered a chicken pastilla during our trip through Morocco, we compared it to this one. No one could beat it and here we had the best!
Lovely place with great beef tagine kefta and wonderful olive paste. The staff is also very friendly, polite and highly educated. I recommend this place to everyone.
Best food esperience in Fes. Great food and friendly place in the center of the Medina.
The foods are very good, very nice service. I took a soup and desert. Forgot to take photo.
We ate at the tiny Al Oud restaurant twice this week which says a lot!We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food served at this miniscule restaurant but we highly recommend it to fellow travelers in Fes. Most of the tagine weve had so far has been fairly ordinary but not so at Al Oud! Tres bon cuisine!
Very kind staff, we tried nearly everything on the menu and it was all very good ! I recommend
Friendly staff, great food, fine prices, right on a main road in the Medina. Had the kafta tagine for lunch, it was a banger. If you’re like me, make sure to get some harissa on the side to spice things up.
Absolutely perfect! Two lovely women running the place it seems, service was great and the lamb tagine was to die for. So much food and worth every penny. Well done girls! 🫶🏽
Definitely the best meal we had in Morocco.. 😍
A wonderful little restaurant/cafe with lovely staff and delicious food! The pastilla was very tasty. Salah Eddine was very friendly. Would visit again
The stuff is friendly but this restaurant is really tiny. Although the air conditioning was turn on, the owner didnt close the doors so we couldnt stand the heat... The vegeterian cuscus was very plain and not yummy. The prices are quite low but prepare to pay cash only.
Great experience , excellent vegan food, quick service with a nice and attentive waiter at a fair price. I strongly recommend as the best place we have tried in Fez
Great food - veggie option was couscous with chickpeas, veg, raisin and walnut and was delicious! Also many meat options which looked good too! Very small location and only takes card but delicious!
One of the very best restaurants in Fes. Extremely friendly staff and excellent food!We had spring rolls and pastilla, both were amazing and at reasonable price. Would strongly recommend!
I would not expected such a bad experience, reading the other ratings, but l had the worst couscous l could remember in my life with overcooked vegetables brauny sauce, cold tough meat and toped with a type of strange marmalade, in Morocco some use dryed raisins but never these type of combination, all of it served in small sized dessert plate. I couldnt eat a bite of it, and the the owner saw it , came to us, apologized for the bad served dish, put the falt on the service staff and suggested that he will not charge us for it. But at the end send us the bill and made us pay the full price which is the double of the other restaurants around the corner we did not want to argue and left ,with the untouched meal.We realized afterwards that the place is too small and dont have a real kitchen.Sorry but this snackbar should be avoided for good marocan dishes, we found many much better and fare cheaper at the end of the top of the same street.
This is a very nice little place in the main street of the medina of Fes.The food was delicious, the best Kefta tagine I had during our stay in Morocco.Furthermore, the young waitress lady Nussa was really friendly and helpful, we had a great dinner altogether.Definitely recommended!
The food here is amazing. Best pastilla I have ever had.
The food was good and service was attentativ and friendly... can recommend the place...The place only accepts cash 💸
Very accomodating staff. The food were good and good service. The place is small but cozy. They have wifi.It has a street view so enjoy.Just 3 minutes away from the blue gate.
Great hosts and delicious food. We got very nice tipps for our onwards travels.
Amazing little place in the main street of Fes medina. The food is great, good portion and good prices. In the first night we arrived very late and they were already closing but seeing us there, they welcomed us and we had a great meal that we came in the next day again to have dinner.Totally recommended.
Great food, very friendly staff, would highly recommend eating here!
This is the tastiest food so far in town. The place is tiny, but very welcoming staff, good portion dishes and reasonable prices. The vegetable couscous with ginger & lemon juice are a great vegan option! Excellent cost benefit.
This is a gem of a place. Food is delicious and team working there is very welcoming and just outright lovely. Must go when youre in Fes!
I would have eaten there every day if i could. Carrot juice with cinnamon is amazing and dishes have veggie options. Our server was lovely and the terrace has little twinkling lights. 🥇
We just went here to eat a Pastilla aux lait (jawharaand have a coffee. They made it at the moment and it was just great.
Great food and friendly service!
Amazing! We started with 2x mint teas and the followed by a lamb tagine and lamb couscous. The tagine was amazing: savoury, with caramelized onions and lamb the fell off the bone. 3 cooked apricots with nuts in the completed the flavours. The couscous was a perfect t balance of light fluffy couscous with roasted vegetable and a sweet raisin dressing. Together they filled both of us up! Only at the cost of 14 pounds too!!! The waiter was very chatty and knowledgeable about cooking methods too. If you are in the medina, stop here!
This cozy little restaurant has really good local food. Everything is written on blackboard so I assume the menu could change from time to time. Lamb Tagin is amazing. You can eat outside while watch people walking around on the street of Madina. Only tiny issue is this place has no bathroom. Considering the petit size, it is not too surprising.
Tasty food and kindly people! We came different time.. we recommend it!!
What a nice place! We were 7 and also if the place is small, Ashraf, the owner, found a sit for everyone. He explained us all the menus choices and suggest what to order. The pastilla here is very good and traditional, the tajines big and made with fresh and good cooked food. The perfect place where to have a pause from the chaotic medina, right in the middle of that!Good prices and drinks!
Cute place that has a great view down the street. If you like people watching, come here. The food is good, I had the lamb targine which was yum. Staff are lovely too.
Relatively tasty food... For microwaved food. If you check out the kitchen its tiny, theres no way theres a kitchen there. You can hear the microwaving going on.Lemon juice is literally that, the juice of lemons, unsweetened.
Tasty meal and friendly staff!ChusChus is the best !!!1 of 2 pic is Pastilla au Lait is also good.
A modern look into Moroccan culture. I had a different version of a Moroccan soup, served cold, with traditional bread and olives tapenade. It was simply delicious!
Tiny place just steps from our Riad. Right on the Medina’s Main Street near the Ain Azliten gate. Food was great, we had a chicken pastilla and lamb couscous. Best couscous we’ve had in Morocco so far.
Excellent food and cozy vibes
Incredible food! We were in Fes for one night and ate dinner at this place. My husband had the cous cous and I had the lamb tagine - both dishes were delicious. The service was great and the staff were really friendly. I would highly recommend!
The chef, Fatima Zahara cooked the best Moroccan food we had all trip! Delicious food, perfect location (in a walkway within the old townand fantastic service. Highly recommend.
We had dinner there after looking at multiple restaurants. It had good food - value for money. The chicken with lemon tajine was delicious. Server was nice and friendly. Would recommend this place.
The food is delicious, the staff super friendly, and the restaurant itself is well decorated (theres also a small terrace). We stayed 2 days in Fès... And ate 3 times there, tasting as many dishes as we could. Thanks again!
This restaurant is small, with only 3 tables inside and one outside. It is a quiet reprieve from the noise of the medina. We enjoyed the harira, which was moderately spicy, and the vegetable couscous which was a little bland.Staff was friendly; we would eat here again.
This place and the service are really good but the portion is so small. They should add vegetables in their chicken tagine. 60mad for a chicken tagine without vegetables?! My bf and i were still hungry after the meal and we spent 165mad here. Kinda sad..
it was so nice!!! everything is good~
Friendly, quick service, soooo tasty and (finallydifferent tastes! It was a really pleasant surprise to discover this wonderful restaurant the young guys that were working there offered us exceptional dishes! Keep up the good job, guys!
Cosy atmosphere, kind service and good food. There is also wifi. The only missing thing is the toilet, but there are a lot of them outside because it is in a very central position. Loved it!
