Pilgrimage site with a huge mosque originally built by the prophet Muhammad & his tomb.
Al Masjid an Nabawi in Raḩīmah
Description
Breathtaking space in a breathtaking town.Very relaxed space, gets full but manners and smiles abound. Toilets and drinking fountains are plentiful outside and the external shade coverings work a treat. Excellent staff all over.If you want to go to the Rawda you have to get a permit, they are strict on this so make sure you have one for the right day and time , was heartbreaking to see people getting turned away.
MoreMy first time here in February 2022. I froze in the Morning in medina, it was that cold. Afternoon temperature rose to 25 and felt pretty warm. It was very surreal and the walk around the mosque’s ground was very peaceful. They only allowed entry around 0530 in the morning and stopped entry after isha. I couldn’t visit riyaaz ul Jannah as I couldn’t get a slot booked due to no availability. Regardless it was one of the best experiences of my life.
MoreThe most beautiful masjid on this earth is Al Masjid an Nabawi. The first thing we notice as we enter Madina that its a cool breeze city. The management is doing an amazing job specially for Riyad Ul Jannah portion. Everyone needs to enter in specific amount of given time by using the app and by taking the appointment and by doing that everyone gets a chance to pray and spend time. Which I heard was not possible before it was a chaos. May Allah give chance to every Muslim to come and visit this Holy place. (Ameen)

The experience is beyond description and stands in stark contrast to anything else I have had throughout any of my previous journeys.I have always missed being at this location, and I wish that I could go back some time soon. Don’t forget to download the application NUSUK to arrange appointment 👍🏻
MoreThe Prophets Mosque stands gracefully in the city of Medina, which has an agrarian society. Meanwhile, the Grand Mosque stands majestically in the city of Mecca, where the people are mercantilist. Although there has been no scientific research, people generally say that the citizens of Medina are more polite than the residents of Mecca. The Prophet said, "Prayer in my mosque (Nabawi Mosqueis more important than a thousand prayers in other mosques." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim). This is the reward for praying at the Prophets Mosque which is many times bigger.Apart from being able to get rewarded by praying at the Prophets Mosque, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims can also pray at Rauhdah. The location of Raudhah itself, explained by the Prophet SAW, "Between my house and my pulpit there is a garden among the gardens of heaven." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim). Currently, the house of the Prophet SAW is the place where he is buried

MoreVery comfortable mosque atmosphere. This place is more than just a mosque but a place to rest a weary heart. the facilities provided are very complete, toilets and ablution places are available in the mosque area. Especially Zamzam water which you can find anywhere in the mosque area. dont forget to bring a bottle when you go to the mosque, to bring home lots of zamzam water so you dont get dehydrated by the extremely hot weather of Medina city.

MoreWhat can even be said about this blessed mosque and its spirituality. Words can not do justice thereby I wont comment on the experience except facilities offered by the mosque.Plenty of space, plenty of gates marked with numbers which make it easy for navigation. Parking underground is 1 SAR per hour, the washroom and bath services are free. Zam zam water is available cold and room temperature inside and courtyard of the mosque. Air conditioned, clean carpets, the staff is very helpful and always making sure the mosque is maintained. There is a nice library which is free to access. They also have mosque history tour that explains the history of the mosque from the time of the Prophet(sawto this day. Plenty of hotels, food and shopping places right outside the mosque. Overall a place be and hopefully die by.

Inside it youll find the sacred Rawdah which is a place between the konsole of prophet Muhammad PBUH and his sacred tomb, you should pray there at least 2 Rakaas and give salutations to the prophet and his two great friends.

MoreThe mosque was built by Muhammad in 622 CE (1 AHafter his arrival in Medina.[10] Riding a camel called Qaswa, he arrived at the place where this mosque was built, which was being used as a burial ground.[11] Refusing to accept the land as a gift from the two orphans, Sahl and Suhayl, who owned the land, he bought the land which was paid for by Abu Ayyub al-Ansari and it took seven months to complete the construction of the mosque. It measured 30.5 m × 35.62 m (100.1 ft × 116.9 ft).[11] The roof which was supported by palm trunks was made of beaten clay and palm leaves. It was at a height of 3.60 m (11.8 ft). The three doors of the mosque were the "Gate of Mercy" (باب الرحمة Bab ar-Rahmahto the south, "Gate of Gabriel" (باب جبريل Bab Jibrilto the west and "Gate of Women" (باب النساء Bab Nisato the east.[12][11] At this time point in the history of the Mosque, the qiblah wall[13] was facing north to Jerusalem, and al-Suffah was along the northern wall.[14]

MoreJust been in Madinah for a day and quite frankly dont want to go back home.I feel this one day alone has done away with the suffering, sadness and anguish of previous few years. My heart feels at ease and no worry makes its home in my mind.💚💚💚💚💚
MoreSubhanallah...A lot of people come here with taqwa. Come early for iktiqaf for everytime, everyday.Praise to Allah for the opportunities to come here and visit maqam of Rasullullah, the greatest person to be taken as idol to everyone.Authority has applied a systematic system apps to control all the visitors through apps tawakkalna so that everyone has chance to visit raudah at least once. Fair & square. Will stay at madinah for a couple of days and excited to experience fasting day here insya Allah.Btw zamzam water is everywhere, shoe rack is everywhere, Al quran is everywhere so nothing to worry.Bear in mind that toilets are located outside the mosque building.
MoreRewards for praying in Masjid Al NabawiPraise be to Allah. The multiplication of reward for prayer in al-Masjid al-Haraam is proven in the report narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majaah (1406from Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon himsaid: “One prayer in my mosque is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, except al-Masjid al-Haraam, and one prayer in al-Masjid al-Haraam is better than one hundred thousand prayers elsewhere.”This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Mundhiri and al-Busayri. Al-Albaani said: Its isnaad is saheeh according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhaari and Muslim]. End quote from Irwa’ al-Ghaleel (4/146).
MorePeaceful Friday pray, but you have to come early before 10 am to reserve a spot inside, otherwise you will end up praying outside or at the rooftop if you lucky.

MoreThe initial mosque built by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ took 8 months to build. The Prophet ﷺ himself contributed to the heavy work of the construction.Masjid An Nabawi holds a special place in the hearts of all Muslims. Today the mosque has expanded so much that it has not only incorporated the Prophet’s living quarters but a good portion of the original settlement in Madinah as well. Being one of the holiest sites in Islam, Muslims congregate to it in the millions. In 1909, the mosque was the first place in Arabia to have electricity.By some accounts, the Ottoman Sultan whose realm extended to Madinah didn’t have electricity fully installed in his own palace prior to this time.. The current mosque is more than 100 times the size of the original structure.Carrying a total capacity of close to 1 million people. It is also the 2nd largest mosque in the world. With further expansion plans underway.Masjid An Nabawi contains an older section within it.This is the part that has been built by the Ottomans and is on the southern end of the mosque. It is characterized by its unique pillars and heavy elements of Ottoman architecture in its design. The initial mosque built by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ took 8 months to build. The Prophet ﷺ himself contributed to the heavy work of the construction.Much of it was roofless at that time. And the mosque faced Jerusalem, as that was the qiblah during the early years of Islam. The room of Fatima (R.A.is still inside the mosque.Items belonging to the Prophet ﷺ were housed in the room. However, when Madinah was under siege during World War 1, the Ottoman Commander had many artifacts transported to Istanbul. Many of these artifacts can be seen in the Topkapi Palace today. The Riad Ul Jannah extends till the hujra (inner chamberof the Prophet ﷺ.The total measurements of the Riad Ul Jannah is 22 meters in length and 15 meters in width. There is an empty grave in the Prophet ﷺ’s room. Some believe it to be meant for Prophet Isa (A.S)The dome was constructed almost 650 years after the Prophet ﷺ’s burial.By a Mamluk sultan in 1279 AD.It was painted in numerous colors including white and purple before being painted in the beautiful green we see it today. The dome was painted green around 150 years ago by the Ottomans. There is another dome inside the green dome.It is an inner dome that is not visible from the outside.Masjid An Nabawi has multiple mihrabs (prayer niche). The first is the mihrab where the Prophet ﷺ used to pray, covering the area that the Prophet ﷺ leads prayers from. Then, there is Sulemanye mihrab that was made on the orders of Sultan Suleyman. The third mihrab is where the current imam leads his prayers amongst others that were made for the different madhabs. The function of the SuffahIn the northern side of the mosque, a separate space was made for the homeless and travelers. The dwellers of the Suffah became known as the Ahab Al Suffah which roughly translates as the Suffah fraternity. The Suffah today is marked by the raised platform near the Riad Ul Jannah.
MoreOne of the holliest place in the Earth. For every Muslim its the second destination after Kaba to visit. Very peaceful. People are welcoming. Take your time and feel the peacefulness.
MoreThe most beautiful place on planet after Masjid e Haram Makkah. Loved every bit of it. For people traveling/visiting during Corona please take permits from Tawakkalna app before coming to Masjid specially for praying in Riyaz UL jannah.
MoreBeautiful. Peaceful. Memorable.Fortuitously, we arrived at the best possible season in Madinah.Hotel prices were dirt cheap (we managed to save up 4x). There was almost no crowd in the city. The weather was just perfect.Sadly, the decrease in number of pilgrims due to covid has resulted in significantly fewer birds this year. Cats are plenty and are often very playful and grateful if you feed them. The one that claimed the hydrant in the pics below was absolutely adorable and we had great fun with her!
MoreAlhamdulillah for this mosque. During COVID-19, visitors must book visits to Rawdah ahead of time through the Eatmarna app. The process was very smooth and well-organized, enabling worshippers to have a peaceful and spiritual Rawdah experience. Alhamdulillah.
