Al Hayat in Den Haag

The food was trash

I ordered mixed grill and Al Hayat special grill. It was lamb gehackt. The taste was best. As I come from Muslim background, this taste is very familiar to me. Of course because this is an Arabic restaurant. But other Arabic restaurant didnt have such taste.

Starter long time waiting unpresident , second point of view the staff absolutely no idea what they do what they dont know if they coming or they go, on top of everything else the food tastes like a rubber

A wonderful restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine in the heart of Den Haag. The interiors are well decorated and the staff are courteous.They have a separate area with dining facility for Shisha and offer good decent quality Shisha. We ordered Hummus, Fattoush and Mouttabal for starters and they were flavourful. The bread that came along with was fresh and hot. For the main course we ordered Mousakkah, and although it took them about 30 mins to serve, it was extremely tasty. We ordered Kunafe for dessert and it could not have been better.The portions are decent and the price overall came to approx. €80/- including Turkish coffee, Cola and a glass of red wine.The service was excellent and it is definitely a place to try Middle Eastern cuisine in The Hague.

That food was delicious and fast we was 5 Person , but it wasn’t enough for aperson how is hungry compared with the price of the meal .

I love this place, been here a couple times and I just never get enough. The vibes are perfect the lighting is not too bright. Everything is just it. I am their customer since 2019 and their food is as excellent as it was back then!

Ive been coming here since theyve opened. The staff makes you feel like a guest and not client. Friendliest people, food service is quick, presentable and delicious! The place is neat and hygienic. Not a single complaint in 4 years!

The restaurant is nice and good overall 4,75We ordered:-Kobe comes in small five pieces with lettuce and garlic sauce on side 4,8👍- Fattouch is nice as salads but not the same exact taste of fattoush but still very good 4,8👍- Mixed grill was very good especially the lambLamb pieces 4.9Shishtawooq 3.7Kebab 4- Lamp Tajen was also goodAs for me taken was 4 but I think it can be rated 4.8The service was very good form all waitersOverall experience nice and I will go in the futureRecommended 👍👌

Great food, good service. The waiter/waiters taking care of us did a good job. They were friendly, fast and efficient. The negatives: Slightly pricey for the quality, shisha smoking inside that makes food experience less enjoyable. There were some weird customers, opening the front door and leaving it like that. That would not be a problem, but when we have to stand up 3 times to take care of that than it is quite bad... hence the 4 stars...

Delicious food, in very decent portions!The restaurant has a nice and cosy atmosphere, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again and recommend to friends.

We went the for a celebration, the food was very tasty for the greater part, the tapas, soups, mixed grill and stew were excellent, the ambiance is nice and clean. Unfortunately though the service was awful! Our main dish got mixed with another tables, who left without getting any food served. They served half of our main courses together with the starters, the lamb shank, which was served incomplete, arrived 15 minutes after and was tasteless and cold, really terrible. They never explained to the foreigners at our table the rice was extra,if you are just given the choice between rice or fries you would think it was included, we found out it wasnt when we got the receipt, finally our waitress kept on making up excuses to how it wasnt her fault, instead of trying to make it up to her costumers. Will definitely not be going back there.

Great food great service and excellent prices. We are here on a recent trip. No pestering by the waiters... They come when you descretely call them! Mixed grok is excellent

Great location and very friendly staff. Nice environment inside with wide range of seats available to sit. Is a sheesha place so some areas are smoky. Food was great and I had no issues at all. Price reasonable for this type of restaurant.

Pretty bad place, service is a disgrace! I visited at 3:30pm on a Saturday with my wife for lunch and the restaurant was COMPLETELY EMPTY then! I asked a place for two to a lady who showed a seat of 4 and I went ahead. Just about to take my seat, there is another insensitive man who comes and asks me to change my seat cuz its "reserved" and puts on a reservation plate. Then my wife asked if we could sit on the other one besides which was 4 seater - he says NO and puts a reserved plate again - that was downright rude n impolite. He insisted us to sit only on a 2 seater, I simply got up and walked away and saved ourselves from d trauma of their pathetic, worthless, expensive food. I recommend u avoid this place.

1- Food was literally perfect, tasty, warm and contains a lot of choices2- service was also great, after short time after placing the order we got our tasty food.3- sweets were also really tasty and nice4- place is cozy, big, decorated in artistic way, mix between modern and old style, good to mention that it was clean, location was also perfect5- shisha was also tasty and nice(not heavy)6- music was really relaxing and lights were so sweet7- price was expensive a bit, they could do it beter. A fairly good Arabic restaurant in the centre of The Hague. The restaurant is spacious and the ambiance is modern with traditional touches. The starters (humus, tabbouleh etchwere average. Highlight was the minced meat kebab. The kunefe dessert was very nice, although it contained Dutch cheese (should normally have white ricotta style cheese). The Lebanese wine was good. Service was good. It is a bit pricey.

While the food was OK, it was overpriced, took more than an hour to arrive for our group (admittedly, of more than 10). However, what was most inconvenient was that the communication with our servers was horrendous. Our group explained in both English and Dutch what we wanted to order, which didnt help at all.I really only have space to list a few things that went wrong: half an hour after we placed our order, we were told they didnt have enough chicken for one of their dishes so some of us had to re-order. Then, we were brought an extra plate of one dish. When I asked them if they were going to throw it out (in which case I would have just eaten it), I was told that they would "take care of it". Later, we were charged for that extra plate of food. This is not an acceptable standard of service.

First time at Al Hayat. I must say their #grill dish was superb! ❤ we had a lamb skewer and a tajine. The later was good, but the grilled lamb was mind blowing. Highly recommended. We also had #hummus #arabicbread and fab desert angels hair with honey and cheese (lovely warm and hearty portionand Arabic pancake filled with walnuts. Final touch of course was Arabic #coffee with a touch of #cardamom.Friendly staff and timely service completed a nice eve.

Visiting from London & found this beautiful little gem in the heart of the town centre. Amazing food, we had the shish kebab and home made Kubba & Kefta - absolutely recommend them both. The ambiance is perfect & the service is 10/10 👌🏼

This is a place where you can enjoy dinner with families or go for a shisha. They try to separate the two areas which is working fine.Tapas and shisha flavours are great and good option in city centre. Service is a bit slow.

Nice restaurant! I can recommend the al hayat tapas, its delicious. Very good accessible for wheelchairs. They have also a special bathroom for wheelchairs.

I write my review based on "3 gangen menu" that i ordered.Food :Starter = their home made bread did taste great. It was my favorite.Beside their bread the starter contains 10different tapas which tasted good and was decently presented.Main dish = my main dish was mix grill. It contained 4 grill meats (chicken , lamb cutlet, lamb shashlik and adana kabab), rice and salad. I think their meat was overcooked and dry. Their lamb and chicken shashlik was bad. I ate them with help of lemon juice.Lamb cutlet and adanna kabab was a bit better, a decent average.Dessert = baghlava. I didnt get the chance to eat itService:Their service was not that great thats mainly due their big delay for serving. I had to wait around 1 hour between my starter and main course. And again a good half and hour or more between main dish and dessert. Cause of that reason i didnt get chance to eat their dessert.Additional : very bad ventilation system. i could smell coal. I think the ventilation air inlets was not working properly
