Al Fanar Restaurant & Cafe - Family restaurant in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
Bad services.. customers suppose to wait fir long time to order while they are moving around and give ant attention to you.Food is delicious..but better to have this experience in another branch.
If you are looking to try authentic local food then Al Fanar is the right place, easy to find in Dubai Festival City with an attractive traditional interior design, good service, generous portion and reasonably priced.
I liked the food and the ambiance, but above all I loved the way David serves and builds a rapport with us, the customers. 5 stars for him.
We like everything from the staff to foodAbdull rahim from the dining service was really professionalWill come back again Insha allah
Perfect Emirati cuisine restaurant with very nice staff. Sameer was extra attentive to our evening. 10 stars for Sameer!
I visited the London branch earlier this year and was eager to try out their main Dubai branch having seen it on quite a few vlogs. I was very impressed with the setting and appearance of the restaurant which was very traditional. Food was absolutely great, especially the very fresh mango salad. I had the prawn biryani which was stunning and is highly recommended. Their juices are very fresh and tasty even if I think theyre slightly on the pricey side. If youve never been, make sure you visit as you wont be disappointed.
It was wonderful moment and enjoyed the food...sameer has take care of all in well manner and respectful way.....thank you sameer.....
Very nice night out!We came to see the Diwali show at the Al Wasl dome and decided to give this place a try. The food was great, and the service excellent. Mohammed explained all the dishes and suggested the green machine smoothie which was excellent.
My shakshooka was excellent as well as coffee! Our waiter Mohammad was very helpful and polite. Very pleasant experience with fast service
Very delicious! Frank was a very helpful server with great recommendations
Authentic Emirati restaurant down to the finest detail. Really pleasant atmosphere as soon as you enter to set the correct mood. Outsized portions by European standards but you cant stop eating because the food quality is more than excellent. Outstanding service. Would visit every week if I could.
We always try to order just for 2 people and fail. The portions in Al Fanar are large and taste very good. It was our 3rd visit to the restaurant and we will return again.
Emirati traditional food. I would Recommend for tourists to try it.
one of the best authentic emarati food.
not bad. food was good it is traditional place with old pictures and stuffs but unfortunately there is no place to sit on the ground and eat, all chairs. I couldnt find jalsa for sitting.
Lovely Emirati restautant, my favorite dish is solouna dejay and machbous. The best desert is the sizzling date pudding. Fabulous service by Amit. Thank you.
Favorite place for Emirati breakfast and Harees. Love the ambiance, taste and quality of food. Thank you Anil and Ashwinth for the great service. Also, special thanks to Prashantg for being extremely kind and helpful eveytime. Looking forward to next dine in here already.
Used to be good but now thier Karak Chai taste horrible and Wouldnt come back again.!
The food was amazing and the service was fast. We’ve ordered the seafood tray that was good for 2 the rocket salad and the soupHarees soup - 8/10Rocket salad - 8/10Mixed seafood tray - 9/10
It was my second time trying this resto and was excited to share it with my foodie cousin. We ordered keema and mixed grill platter for two. The keema was absolutely delicious while the mixed grill platter chicken kebabs were dry. The ambience of the resto is quite cozy and it felt that you traveled back in time. I would have tried their other dishes such as harees and luqaimat if I did not embark on a healthier way of eating.
Traditional place for Traditional breakfast ..staff are friendly and fast .deserves to visit
My 17 year old son, who is a real foodie, wanted to go for an authentic Arabic lunch and found this restaurant in Dubai Festival City. The setting is lovely, felt like I was at Dubai Museum or the Bastakiya area. Surprising as the front view of the restaurant doesnt show you what is hiding behind!Service was excellent and waiters were happy to assist with our menu choices and knowledgeable about the food.Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully seasoned. We finished with their signature sticky date pudding, which did not disappoint. Will be going back for sure before the young man returns to the UK for school.
Three stars because the price is high, fish majboos platter for 65
The restaurant design is good , but seems the staff is not happy , we came in the first day of Eid and they all looks sad , we came to try the Emirati food , we requested boiled egg for our 3 years old child who does not eat any kind of egg but the boild one , the staff refused to give and they said we dont prepare boild egg !! ,The staff give us an impression that this restaurant is only for locals ! We did not feel that in Al Fanar restaurant Abu Dhabi Branch at all !You need to be careful if you have any allergy as the staff do not inform you about the ingredients of the food .
Went there for breakfast and it wasnt amazing. The karak is not really good. The balaleet and chebab were ok. There are much better places for emirati breakfast around. The place is nice tho with the little "shop" where you can see and buy objects and food.
The food was fantastically tasty!if you use repeat app you can have some discount. The soup is better in Al barsha branch
Great place with excellent selection of tasty dishes , as Turkish grown up in Bahrain the food is amazing. That’s why I went there so many time but now I am bit hesitated. I give 4 start bcs the restaurant is so noisy with so many tables and chairs moving around with very loud noise. It’s really disturbing as the noises after sometimes start giving you a headache. As on option owner can place cloth or silicon chair and table leg covers to prevent the noise and peaceful environment.
This place is an absolute gem for breakfast/brunches! Their Rayouga (breakfastis amazingly delicious and for a very good price. Their grills are also good, and the variation of sweets are top notch. Not to mention the friendly staff they have. The only downside for me is the Karak (too sugary doesn’t taste that goodso it takes away from the Emirati cuisine experience, but other than that, I still love the place 🤗
Fantastic place to catch up with friends, ANIL was a great help, and my favorite food there is the shrimp biryani, and of course the arabic desert, luqaimat…
The Ambiance is OUTSTANDING. Interior Architecht and Designer did an amazing job replicating old Dubai which I am fond off since a little child many ages ago.Food is GREAT. We had Machboous (fluffy rice with slow cooked meat in amazing spices).Service is TERRIBLE. Staff was extremely NOT courteous, dismissive and abrasive.EASY access to the mall and plenty of parking.Half of the menu choices were NOT available.Staff just wanted us to just leave. They literally were cleaning the table, around the table and under the table crowding us to just pack and go.The whole dinner was less than 15mins from the time we had dinner served till we were forced to pack and go.They forever spoiled our first Emirati Restaurant experience. Shame on You.Never again Al Fanar.
Good service as usual, the menu was fixed with different choices. The place was crowded but not that much noisy. The reservation, welcoming and going to the table was so good. Finally the food was good as expected.
A perfect Iftar Breakfast! The 5 course set meal had plenty of tasty options, portion sizes were ideal and the food was made with a lovely Arab homemade rustic sensibility! And the Date Balls were amazing as always! Thanks for an amazing Iftar!
Fish cutlet was out of this world!!Mutton & chicken briyani were well cooked and the rice was delicious by itself.Place to go for, for excellent food!!
Beautiful restaurant to try their old days breakfast in the gem location of majaz waterfront.. served with karak tea and just the way we like it.. windy and food was almost indian touch flavours that anyone would enjoy
When it come to Emirati food , I come here. Biryani Robyan (Prawn biryaniis always my favorite. Fresh Laquimat for the desert is a must ! Perfect combination with Arabic coffee
Firstly they told us there is a problem with kitchen to not order fried food so we ordered grilled squid and prawns with rocket salad. They were delisious..The mango smoothie was more pineapple :)Nice view.. nice foods
One of the best Emarati restaurant in UAE, ambience is superb and the food is great.Dont miss the sea food .Staff service was good too.
Very yummy Emirati food!! We saw the restaurant in a Mark Wiens YouTube video and had to check it out. Terrace view was nice too!
Wonderful service, hospitable and helpful with menu recommendations. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious! A must visit if you want Emirati cuisine.
Authentic UAE cuisine, super nice decor in the middle of the mall. I recommend the shrimp dish with the balila soup as a starter. They are so generous. The staff are friendly and professional.
A beautiful Emirati cuisine restaurant with a lot of attention to detail to recreate a souk entrance and old UAE feel. We had Koftat Samak (Fish Cutlets), Jawaneh Deyay ( Chicken wings in Emirati spice- real nice), Machboos Robyan (prawns with traditional riceand Robyan Magli (Prawns tossed in light sauce). The karak tea was the perfect finish. The food was delicious and flavorful. Their staff was helpful in suggesting options as well.
Food is deliciousThe staff are very kindPlace is very clean and I would like to thank all the staff and the management for the excellent housekeeping after end of the day as I saw how they clean. One of the excellent emirates cuisine in UAE I recommend all visitors coming to UAE to have all three meals in this restaurantBreakfast, lunch and dinner.I am sure that you will be happy.Always keep space for the desserts 😋.
The food is very average asian/arabic food ridiculously priced for no reason. The staff are completely clueless and only attend to the locals. They completely ignore you or take long to come if you’re an expat. The food was good but the vibe in this restaurant is dead. Probably the most unwelcoming restaurant in dubai.
I dare to say this is the only genuine authentic Emirati food experience in DuabiRestaurant is 5 starts, the food is authentic Emirati, I dont expect you to know it (me neither), but you will enjoy itStarters, tea and sweets were amazing. Next time I will try Meat Thareed. Majboos meat was alright.
Foodies alert: this is a MUST! I love to experience local food when I travel. You cannot go wrong with Al Fanar. Emirati cuisine, delicious!!The breakfast trays are a delight and it’s perfect if you’re eager to taste several dishes. My other personal favourites are the mutton biryani (meltsssss in your mouthand the sizzling pudding / date cake yummmmy — the French foodie me can’t get enough! Oh, and Al Fanar has the best Karak I’ve had so far!Did I make you hungry? ;-)
I had a fabulous Saturday Brunch at Al Fanar Restaurant with a friend. The ambience is beautiful and social distancing between tables is maintained. We had tried the Arabic breakfast tray which consisted of traditional arabic breakfast dishes like Shakshouka, foul , khabisah , arabic bread , labneh . The breakfast tray is more than enough for two persons. They also serve two hot drinks which are arabic tea and karak chai which is included in the breakfast tray .We also tried some leqaimat which was a sweet way to end our delightful breakfast experience .The staff were welcoming and the service was great .
We visited Al Fanar near Barsha Park yesterday the atmosphere was great if it’s like you’re sitting in an Emirati museum actually it reminded me of my childhood country side farm house in Baghdad :same plates same Furnuture same lamps I really loved itOur waiter Tareq a young gentleman he was so hospitable he offered us good choices from the menu with a very nice sense of humor we really appreciate the experience for thatMany thanks Tareq
Love this place so much! The menu, the interior design, the authentic local feel you get. No place does it better! Especially the little shop they now have selling bukhoor and googies! When we went it was very quiet but I don’t mind, as that means faster and quieter service. Had salted fish, al fanar salad, arabic tea pot, and it always makes me happy when I see new updates to their menu always. 😍😍 worth a visit! Especially for breakfast meals also.
It’s a highly recommended Traditional restaurant. Service & staff are very nice. Food is very delicious & portions are reasonable. Prices are average. Outdoor setting area is available with nice view of the Waterfront. They have a very good tradition tea (Karak). They have a small shop selling traditional food stuff.
This is a great place to try Emirati cuisine set up as a 1960s Dubai restaurant. The food is delicious and all ingredients are fresh. The service was impeccable and extremely attentive. We finished everything despite being full three quarters of the way.
