Horrible service and rude staff. For sure a restaurant to avoid!

Food delicious, service excellent and great value for money! Were only here for a week and want to try as many restaurants as possible, but really want to go back 👍👍

Lovely food and table service was quick and precise. In terms of value this is actually the cheapest place we have been for dinner these last several days and its in my top three places to eat in the Alvor. As I said, the cheapest and one of the nicest so its up there!Its well worth a visit.

It was our first time in Al Dente, the staff and food where lovely. We would go back.

The ambience was really nice. The Pasta and the Risotto were perfect.Sadly the service was nowhere near the amazing food. Even though everyone was really friendly and polite, no additional drinks have been offered after we finished our glasses. Also we had to ask multiple times to get the bill.Things like that can happen. Therefore we would definitely come back again.

Dined in Al Dente twice on our 10 day holiday, fabulous food, fabulous staff & fabulous venue. Very reasonably priced for the excellent quality food, drink & staff. 100% recommend

Really good Italian restaurant. Great service, great food, great wine. During summer season you might have to make a reservation to be sure to get a table. It is very popular. Nice prices and a kids menu is also available.

Superb menu, and good vegan choices too

What a place.Despite is out of main streets of Alvor it is full and there is a reason.We came w/o reservation and we had luck to find a table.We ordered:-> Starter, squid to be served as main dish for our older son. It was very delicate and frying time was exactly in point.-> Mushroom Risotto. Originally served with schrimps but since my wife do not like it waiter w/o any action from our side immediately proposed to serve w/o it. Risotto was perfect-> Linguini Frutti di Mare -> Absolutely Great. Exactly as it should be.-> Pizza for younger son. Even our little fussy eater graded the pizza as fantastic-> Desserts-> Ice cream, big big portion and very good.-> Panna Cotta -> The white was good, the top was too much flavoured with some spice. This could be better.Wines are with affordable prices.Very good place. One of the best in Alvor.

Lovely food but front of house is hopeless. Leaving people with no drinks and having to go to the bar to ask for drinks already ordered. Not in control of the pass as they say

Get the garlic bread (with cheese), it will change your life. Also, the waiters and waitresses are very friendly. Best restaurant I’ve been too 👌🏾

So often you walk into a restaurant and it can be a bit of a gamble as to what you get! Well this is one gamble I highly recommend you take. Great food which is fresh and the quality is immediately evident, great service which is on the right side of friendly and attentive, great atmosphere in a lovely building which is open and bright. A particular favourite was the bresaola with grilled pear but every dish we were served this evening was lovely (we just had a full selection of the starters shared between usand all three of us are already planning to go back in the next few days. Thank you for such lovely food!

This was the first time ever I didn’t eat up the food even though I was STARVING. The restaurant looks upscale with its nice decor. Don’t let that fool you. The food was TASTELESS. I had the shrimp pasta (with glutenfree penne). I tried adding a lot of pepper to it but it was awful. The waiter didn’t ask how I liked the food so I just paid and left.

Good menu, good food, good staff, just an all round top notch evening.

Visited this restaurant while in Portugal and food wasnt too bad but couldve been better for the prices. The staff were friendly and very helpful but the reason for the 1 star review is the fact that there was no access to toilets for wheelchair users as there was too many steps to even navigate with the help of someone

Recently renovated. Very welcoming feel & lovely atmosphere. Extensive menu & wine choice at reasonable prices. Staff attentive & very helpful.

This was our first visit to Al Dente!We went to celebrate a birthday!First impressions were very good, the staff were very friendly, welcoming & attentive, the service, food & drinks were very good & reasonably priced!I would have given them 3/4 stars if it had not been for the following!On entering we were shown to our table, I sat facing the kitchen so I didnt notice that behind me on the other side of the main room there was a large TV airing a football match which was being watched by a group of people I noted were only drinking! Suffice too say as the match progressed they got louder & louder! Sports Bar atmosphere!😡We would have stopped for after dinner drinks & coffee but needed to get away from the noise! 😢😡Very dissapointed as the restaurant has been beautifully renovated!👍

Appears to be shut just now with that not very helpful sign ‘closed for holidays’ on the door. How long will the holidays last? Went across the road to the Indian restaurant.Back in Alvor a year later (Nov 2021and Al Dente has reopened, and it is much smarter inside, good flooring and lighting. We are shown to a table by the window with a 2 seater couch and a single chair. Couch looks good but it’s low so partner has to sit on a cushion and then there is no back support - they really aren’t great if you are eating, ok if you are just relaxing with a drink.So, to the food: good starter shared between us with lovely pesto , ok olive oil, poor tomato. She has pasta and prawns, wants white wine - I wanted a pizza with red wine, I give in and order rice with prawns and mushrooms. Big mistake: prawns light seafoody, mushrooms earthy, they don’t complement each other - mushrooms dominate, prawns are rubbery, don’t think they should be on the same plate together. Her prawns come with shells on so at the end she has sticky hands - other restaurants would provide a bowl of warm water or those small prepackaged towels to clean your fingers but nothing here.For the price this is a disappointing meal, albeit in better surroundings than there were before. Not sure we will be back in the future.

Absolutely fantastic meal at Al Dente! Food was delicious, everything was really reasonably priced (circa. 10 EUR for pizzas, 6 EUR for cocktailsand the staff were really friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.

The ambience is very warm and welcoming.The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.The food........ well I really suggest you go and see for yourself!I would definitely recommend Al Dente and the tiramisu is a must!Thank you for a lovely evening Al Dente!

Whats there to say about this restaurant? Firstly the beautiful facade of the building draws you in, then the super staff make you feel very special while taking you to your table. Then the menu makes you salivate (and change your mind on what to order everytime you read the next dish 😀as each dish sounds so good. Then the food, well, thats when my addiction for Al Dente started. The best culinary experience we had in Alvor in 2 years. We will be returning to savour each dish. 5⭐

Al Dente is by far the best restaurant in Alvor. After trying to find some nice spots to have dinner we ended up here and it never disappointed. We came back several times. The photos you’ll see are outdated, they upgraded everything in 2021 :)Great food, decent prices, large portions, friendly staff.

We are regular visitors to Alvor and a visit to Al Dente is a must. Their service and quality of food are both superb. Its typical Italian decor adds a charming quality to it. On our recent visit I must add that they strictly adhere to COVID rules. Their prices are very reasonable and would hghly recommend this restaurant.
