Theres not much to see. The central gates are impressive but not in the best condition. Also avoid the local "guides" that are standing on the entrance. They wont provide a proper excursion, instead just bring you to a souvenir shops.Besides, youll get charged extra for basically every building entrance. Which is nonsense, what do we pay on the entrance then for?All in all, doesnt worth to drive there extra. There are more beautiful places in the area.

È strabiliante quanto resta di questa dimora, per limponenza ma volutamente non è stata restaurata. Enorme e ben manutenuto il parco, ma non ci sono altre vestigia rimaste.

They made Disneyland out of it...around the park where once stood the palace are hundreds of new not jet opened hotels so you feel like in a movie set not in the middle od the town...you need to really search for a way out to see normal houses and locals...

Spectacular remains of a huge gate, all that remains of the palace. Nice gardens and statue of the king.

Good place to visit

Disappointing. Poor organization of the tourists experience. Constantly someone running after you for a ticket (instead of organizing 1 normal ticket booth, there are many, we felt like moving wallets - and no shadow although the park is huge, as a result we burnt)

Tarixiy majmuaning aynan Oq Saroy deb atalishiga saroy devorlariga quyosh nuri tushganda ozidan oppoq yogdu tarayib turishi sabab bolganligi tarixchi olimlar tomonidan takidlab otiladi. Agarda ushbu tarixiy majmuaga xali hamon tashrif buyurmagan bolsanggiz fursatni boy bermasdan ziyoratga shoshiling. Etiboringgiz uchun raxmat!Omon boling!

Rented a car from Samarkand and visited as we had run out of things to do in the city. Overall it’s not bad but you’re definitely not missing out if you skip this one. Drive took 1,5 hour each way, hard part is to find someone who’s willing to take you to and from, as well as wait for you. There were no toilets when we visited, the ones that are signposted were locked. There’s an electric buggy running around that can take you from one side to the other for a fee.

Beautiful place, annoying vendors that wouldnt leave us alone. I understand that because of the pandemic there are less tourists and times are hard for souvenir vendors but it was really annoying. We just wanted to see the palace. We are traveling the country to see its rich historical sites not buy hats. Still worth a visit. Come here! It is awe inspiring! Only be aware the vendors are agressive.

Ak Saray (o Aq Saray, letteralmente il palazzo bianco; Oqsaroy in usbeco è un sito archeologico situato nellattuale Uzbekistan, Shakhrisabz. Il palazzo è stato realizzato allinizio del periodo timuride, tra il 1380 e il 1396 e il 1404, sotto il regno di Tamerlano. Nel 2000 il palazzo è stato dichiarato patrimonio UNESCO. Il palazzo è oggi in rovina. Rimane un enorme portale, inizialmente alto 71 metri, fiancheggiato da due torri cilindriche che poggiano su basi ottagonali e attualmente misurano 44 metri. La volta crollata, larga 22,5 metri, era la più grande dellAsia centrale [2]. Sappiamo che gli elementi descrittivi originali, di una storia pervenutaci ai giorni nostri, dello spagnolo Ruy González de Clavijo, nominato ambasciatore di Tamerlano nel 1403. In questa storia, in particolare si stima che dietro il cancello vi fosse un cortile con uno stagno, ricoperto di piastrelle bianche, di circa 100 m², circondato da archi decorati. Il portale è stato ricoperto con decorazioni in piastrelle di ceramica, oggi parzialmente visibili, alcune riproducono i nomi di Allah e Maometto in caratteri cufici. La funzione di questo portale si presta a entrambe le interpretazioni di seguito le due vecchie descrizioni dobbiamo: secondo Clavijo, è stato il portale dingresso del palazzo; da Babur, prima del suo lavoro Baburnama, sarebbe lIwan dove Tamerlano teneva le sue audizioni. Le imponenti dimensioni del palazzo sono caratteristica della politica dellarchitettura dellepoca timuride: uniscrizione sul portale dice "Se avete dei dubbi sul nostro potere, guardate i nostri edifici", aveva lo scopo di impressionare i visitatori stranieri. Il palazzo è stato distrutto nel XVI secolo dallemiro di Bukhara Abdullah Khan II.Da Wikipedia, lenciclopedia libera.

Del palazzo è rimasto poco, ma quello che cè basta a lasciare senza fiato.I due piloni che una volta costituivano lingresso del palazzo reale di Tamerlano sono enormi e coloratissimi.Da qui si può partire allesplorazione del parco cittadino, arrivando fino ai mausolei di alcuni dei famigliari di Tamerlano.Il colpo docchio è impressionante anche a km di distanza.Ad Aprile 2018 non era possibile salire in cima

큰 문과 흔적만 남아있지만 그 때의 규모를 상상 할 수 있다.그나마 일부를 유리로 덮어 그 위를 볼 수 있게 하여 다행이다.

This place is not as great as I expected. Just the remaining of the gate of the planned palace. Nothing else to see.

Un peu loin de Samarkand, pas un must seeComme je le partageais sur la statut de Tamerlan qui est sur ce site, je ne trouve pas que ce lieu ait particulièrement dintêret. Surtout si vous faites laller retour en bus dans la journée ( bien plus long quen taxi).On voit une ruine aux proportions impressionnantes et une statue gigantesque, mais rien de palpitant comme à Samarkant.
