Remote site but worth the climb. Local tent lunch was very interesting.

Благодатнейшее место по своей энергетике из-за находящейся здесь могилы пророка Даниила. Обратите внимание на дерево фисташку, находящуюся на верхней площадке. Её хотели уже совсем срубить, но патриарх Алексий II-й, приехавший сюда в 1998 году отслужить молебен, полил дерево водой из священного источника. И фисташка вновь зацвела. Когда Алексий умер зимой 2008-го года, фисташка в ту весну не распустилась. Вот такая кармическая связь. Сейчас фисташка вновь ожила и даже даёт плоды.

Пошли искать достопримечательность, походили по степи ничего не нашли, пришло к выводу что вся эта степь и есть достопримечательность, нашли только камень и часть раскопок

Great silk road stone camels

Basically, there’s nothing. You have to walk half an hour to get to the hill and back, and you’ll see only some ruins (using the fantasy). The site get more interest if you, before, visit the afrasiyab museum, explaining the sense of the settlement. After the visit of the museum you can reach through a grey metal door the top of a close hill where it is supposed the king lived and where the paintings in the museum are from. But believe me, don’t go more inside the hill : wasted time.

Интересное место, больше религиозное. Я далёкая от этого, но знаете что поразило: что в этом место пришло какое-то умиротворение, хотелось прямо посидеть, послушать молитву. Духовное и душевное место, посетить рекомендую.

Site encore très peu exploré mais cest très émouvant de savoir quune population vivait ici des VIII ème VII ème siècles avant notre ère. Le musée est très intéressant.

A huge elevation in area is all that remains of the adobe buildings of the capital of the ancient kingdom of Turan. Part of this area is occupied by old cemeteries. In some places there are pits dug by archaeologists. The exact date of construction is unknown, but under Alexander the Great it was already the capital of the kingdom.

Afrosiyob Paintings Findspot

Nice spot for a small walk after visiting Bibi Khanum mosque or the Shad-i-Zinda complex. Facsinating to walk through this piece of nature (with sheep and shepherdswhilst having a small lunch break. When we went there, local authorities tried to prevent us from entering at the official entrances (no idea why singmce there clearly were other locals insode of the perimeter). Just walk a bit around and you’ll find a secundary gate or a destroyed piece of wall to get into the domain; it’s worth it.

There are lot of building which are dated back to 9 to 14 centuries.all building have graves which varies for 2 to 5 graves in each structure.Names are mentioned out side of each building.there are lot of tourists which are visiting that area.We take a round of place.

Because of this trade on what became known as the Silk Route, Bukhara and Samarqand eventually became extremely wealthy cities, and at times Transoxiana was one of the most influential and powerful Persian provinces of antiquity❤️❤️

There is nothing here. Photos are mistaken, and belong to other places. This is a beautiful big patch of grass (at least in springwith hills and and a few areas of dust that I can assume are the old settlement.No entry sign, no door, no signs, nothing. If green (I think it’s seasonalit’s a nice place for a picnic and a walk. Nothing else.

Great historical place. Must visit if you are in Samarkand.

It was a very good place for site seeing.

At the entrance to Samarkand from the north side there is the ancient settlement of Afrasiab (VII-II centuries BC), which is located on high hills. What is amazing that  there were no any sign of the city and local population called this site as the city of Afrasiab, believing in the legend of existence of the huge city, founded by the mythic king Turan. Actually it is the settlement of  ancient Samarkand of pre-Mongol period.  It was the site of urban life from VI century BC till the destruction by Mongol troops in 1220.

Not really much to see. No documentation or signs. But okay to wander around a little.
