Neighborhood standby serving a range of Greek cuisine in a homey setting adorned with Grecian art.
Hands down the BEST gyro I ever had! Hidden little gem 💎 :If you were debating to get food from there or not - this is your sign to do it!
Lovely Greek restaurant that Ive eaten at a few times. Service and food are always excellent and todays visit did not disappoint. Perfectly delicious Greek salad and Gyro!
Large portions very good soup and gyro.
Great food and service! Loved their baklava! Beautiful interior
Great authentic Greek food. Price and service was excellent!
Good food. Used to be Great. Go back to the old hummus and rice pudding! Still a nice place to eat though.
Delicious food, great service
Never a sub-par meal in this place, the soups and salads are excellent, and I love the falafel here. Worth a trip from anywhere!
Great as usual have been coming here for over 20 years but its been a while, Ordered the pita melt with chicken, Everything was as good as I remembered including the chickpeas that were included with dinner.
Very good eat in or take out
The quality and taste of the food has declined over the past few years. It seems that the chef has forgotten what salt, garlic and lemon are. Too much money for the meal I had.I wouldnt mind the price if the quality was there.
Delicious food, fast service, and polite staff. I looked in the dining room and I was amazed at how clean they are.
Food was great. Staff was great. Nice atmosphere.
this place happens to have the best Greek food on the island. very attentive servers and friendly atmosphere.
Food very nice, cute restaurant, clean. Service prompt and pleasant. Large portions, enough for 2 meals. If you are into conspiracy theories about weather and nature, the waitress has a lot to say.If you just want a pleasant conversation with your party dont start a conversation with the waitress.
Food and service was great. Highly recommend the seafood!
They have a lovely luncheon menue with delicious chicken fish, pasta and salads. Wait staff is friendly and professional.
Im leaving my previous review down below to show how disappointed I am with our last visit. What happened to this place. We have been dining here for close to a decade and its always been consistently good.Just had just about the worst meal weve ever had at the Aegean Cafe. The waitress initially refused to make a very small change to our order and had to be convinced by pointing out the requested item on the menu. The usual complimentary garbanzo and pita for the table is apparently no longer provided. The tatziki sauce used to be delicious; now way too salty and barely edible. The fried zucchini was mushy and the portion size much smaller. The pita bread was still very good but Im pretty sure that its not baked in the restaurant and sourced from a bakery. The spanakopita had a sour taste where in the past it was always delicious. We had to ask for the sauce that should have come with the entree.Im so sad to have to go back and change my 5 star rating.Old review:Reliably good and fresh Greek food.Diner style restaurant.Nothing fancy.Good food.Good prices.Friendly staff. We eat here all the time.Definitely recommended.
THAT TZATIKII SAUCE!!!More than worth the money. The amount of fokd you get for the price is great.
One of the best Greek foods around. The food was delicious, cant find anything to complain about. Food cooked evenly and flavored well. The Staff was very friendly and engaging
The food was phenomenal! I ordered the gyro sandwich! Our waitress was friendly. Cant wait to return!
As always our meal was prepared fresh and was absolutely delicious. Service above and beyond.
Havnt partronized this resturant in years. Ordered take out for my daughters Birthday. All I can say the food was amazing!!! Hot, fresh and tasty! Will be coming back soon.
Maureen couldnt have been more helpful explaining details on the menu, polite and attentive! The food is excellent and very fresh.
Fantastic food, Fantastic service. Incredibly expensive, yet they charge a credit card fee for no reason. When you charge $24 for a bowl of pasta you can afford $1 in credit card fees on a $60 bill. Cheapskate owner.
Really enjoyed dinner here. Their Greek salad is well dressed and has fresh soft feta. The sauce on the pastitsio was rich and flavorful. Their gyro meat is fresh and tender. Friendly waitstaff.
Super disappointed based on the other reviews :( The gyros were mediocre. Small, lack of meat, the pita was soggy, hardly any tomato or tzatziki sauce. The spanakopita was no better. I am not sure what I paid for. The food wasnt fresh at all. There are far better gyros you can have elsewhere! Dont waste your money on sub par greek food.
Very good experience. Their food is great and the service is the best.Nice atmosphere, cozy. Prices are very fair. My wife and I love it.
It was really good. We ordered the $10 lunch special that included a cup of soup, a Greek salad and pita bread. The chicken, lemon, rice soup was delicious. It was the first Ive had it & I would definitely recommend it. Definitely worth a visit.
Food is still consistently good and fresh. Happy to be able to dine in with comfort. Gyros & Pitas are the great and their fries always satisfy the craving.Be careful what you speak to the weekend waitress about, as she will feel the need to make her political point of view known. Would have been 5 stars, however could have done without the side order of venom.
This place was definitely nothing special. Their chicken melt and their gyro dinner was quite bland to me. They didnt even give me any bread to start my meal off with. I mean for the money they charge, they can atleast give you a starter. And the place itself is quite small. There is plenty of parking though since there is a parking lot in the back of the stores on that street.
Wow! Great friendly, warm service and very attentive. The food is authentic and delicious. Gyros are superb! What a gem in Sayville! Will return for sure.
I love Aegean Cafe. They have the best gyro meat ever! I miss living in Sayville & being able to get it more frequently. However, I always stop by when Im in the area.
SIMPLY LOVELY. The food is fresh, delicious, and amazing. The staff is friendly and inviting to everyone that enters the door—best Greek restaurant in Suffolk County.
Ordered to go here tonight, two small salads and a side of gyro meat. It was fantastic. Perfect amount of food. Everything was loaded with flavor and was ready incredibly fast. Cannot wait to return.
Not happy with the additional fees charged for using credit cards, sorry establishments that charge extra fees I will not be patronizing anymore. Credit card fees is part of doing business. I don’t get a break when I pay cash. I love the place it has great tasty food & good service, change your policy and I will return.
The service is very bad. The waitress never came to ask how our food was, never refilled our drinks and took very long with the check. The food was too salty and I ordered a corned beef sandwich on a pita and it was gross and low quality. The meat was very thin and cold. I asked the waitress what was on it before I ordered and she told me just corned beef and lettuce and when it came it had tomato and onions on it.
By far the best Greek food around. I have been ordering food from Aegeans for almost 20 years and NEVER had a bad experience. Great food, friendly staff.. Really not a bad thing to say. I suggest the spanakopita, Greek salad, baklava, chickpeas and ofcourse the gyro sandwich. If you like lemon, the lemon chicken soup is a must. My husband has tried most of the entrees and has never been dissatisfied.
The dining experience here was so terrible it was comical. Our server never even said hi to us, but came to our table 10 mins after we were told to seat ourselves by a worker, and asked if we wanted to keep the menus. The rest of the dining experience was followed with slow, uncommunicative service. Our server barely ever spoke, and whispered when she did, and we had to take charge of the service otherwise she would’ve never asked for our orders. We had to ask for extra pita four times and it never came. The food didn’t even make up for it. Everything was over salted. The hummus was chunky and way over seasoned (again, with salt). Worst hummus I’ve ever had, store bought hummus is better than this, and that’s saying something. Everyone’s dish was poor, but mine was the worst. I ordered a corfu pasta, which arrived and instead of potatoes, they used frozen french fries in it! It basically was a baked ziti dish with french fries mixed in. When i told the server, she finally had a voice and told me “french fries are potatoes”. Terrifying experience, would never go here again.
Excellent service and great food. After a few times going there the staff will start to call you by name. Overall its a very personal feeling in comfortable environment with excellent food.
Excellent Greek fare. Traditional gyro always a good to. But so many other choices. The Spanikopita is also a favorite. I had the Salmon salad tonight. Wow! The Salmon was perfectly cooked, moist and lightly seasoned, over a Greek salad. I loved it
one of the best Greek salads available for sure. Their chickpea appetizer is absolutely delicious and I get it as often as I can. Great wait staff very kind and attentive. Very fresh coffee always tastes like it was just brewed. If you sit in the window seats you can people watch too, which is always enjoyable. Really enjoy this spot.
This place is so amazing, I eat here for lunch at least once a week sometimes twice a week. My favorite thing here is the Greek salad with falafel. They know me here where they just ask if i want my regular. The staff is always friendly
Awesome local Greek place! The food is amazing and if you get takeout from here, its like youre sitting at the table. Portions are huge and the quality is impeccable every single time. Chicken lemon soup is outrageous. My favorite is the Chicken Souvlaki dinner... Yum!
I enjoy coming here. The staff is always very friendly and remembers patrons. The food is a little bit pricey for a standard Greek salad but its worth it. The falafel is always really good and the pita melts are fantastic.
We eat there (mostly take-outat least once a month. I hate giving 5 stars but its better than 4 stars. more like 4.5 stars. love is a strong word. service is good food is really good.
The is amazing, the gyros were freash and delicious. The portions were on the large side but for the price you are getting alot of food. The service was so nice and quick. Our waitress was so kind and attentive.
Their food is great! Nice large "Greek" sized portions. The service is a little slow, but better for the family atmosphere. I bring a lot of people here who have never had Greek cuisine and want to start out slow.
Fantastic food, great staff, good atmosphere. I have been coming here consistently for the past 10 years. This is one of my favorite lunch spots, the food is excellent and has some great healthy and homemade eats! Try the Avgolemono soup and Pita Melt!
My daughters and I are regulars at this place. We always order small greek salads (they are huge!). There are usually two older women who wait the tables. They are *very* nice and attentive. This place is clean and offers great views of Sayvilles main street. We love to sit at one of the tables in the window and people watch. We rarely do take out because we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. However, when we do decide to order out. the food is always prepared as ordered and served in a timely manner. My only complaint is that I wish they offered vegetarian soups.
