Massive aquarium with a 4-D experience theater plus hippos, stingrays & an underwater shark tunnel.
Was my first time at an aquarium tourist site and it was fantastic to see all the different fish, birds, animals that we only see on TV. There was a lot of families and this facility was well designed for them. Lots for the kids to do and spend their energy. Lots for adults to see and take in the beauty of the species. The waterfront boardwalk was an added bonus to enjoy the view of Philadelphia.
Great aquarium. Nothing I can say that hasn’t been said. Took our 2 yr old. She had a blast. Like all Zoos and Aquariums things can be seasonal but in October on a Monday it was perfect. Not crowded the staff was super great. Worth a visit if you are anywhere near the mid Atlantic or northeast. Do it.
While not a huge fan of marine life this place would be a definite winner for those who are.Several highlights would be the plethora of sharks, the hippos, and the jellyfish.Beautiful location on the waterfront.Best for kids between 5- around 13/14.Parking is $10.
Really well done aquarium! Our family spent the entire day here and could have stayed longer. The kids especially loved the three touch tanks. The shark bridge is something Ive never seen before and was also a hit with the kids. Dont miss the hippo feeding, its very entertaining! Dining options could be better.
My wife and I had such a fun visit yesterday. From watching the hippos feeding and being very active playing with kids. We walked the shark bridge. I got some good pictures from above the shark tank. AA is is one of the rare Aquariums with hammerhead sharks. There is the usual interactive Stingray touch pool with cownose rays, southern sting rays, and bamboo sharks. It was a fun time seeing all of the animals and getting to know them more in talking with the staff.
I just took my family here. Absolutely amazing. Worth every penny! Tanks and enclosures are clean and set up so nicely. The exhibit guides at the touch tanks were so very friendly and educational. GO EARLY!!! We got half way through before the place got super busy.
Really nice aquarium so close to Philadelphia. Definitely worth getting the annual pass as 2 visits pays for the pass. I really enjoy the shark section. They do a great job with showing lots of different species throughout and keeping the displays relevant. They will bring in animals from time to time on a temporary basis so always check back to see something new.
It was extremely loud anywhere by the kids "musical" play area. Pretty crowded and some of the viewing areas to see the animal displays were small and low. Its more fitted for children than for all ages. Not the greatest date place. The glass was bit dirty and had glares which made it hard to get good pictures or they used netting which blocked the view as well.
We really enjoyed our time at the aquarium! It was so so much bigger than we thought and totally worth the price. We bought tickets ahead of time online and once we arrived, there is a parking lot thats for the aquarium. The parking is $10. This aquarium is so much fun and with much to see and do especially the touch tanks! Were definitely coming back again soon with our other friends.
We really enjoyed our time here. Before you even enter the facility, the view of Philly across the water is amazing. Plenty of exhibits with all types of wildlife, and some are hands-on. Our favorite part was watching the scuba divers in the tank with the sharks. Food is available, and tickets can be purchased online (must be scheduled by time.Definitely recommend for a quick getaway with the kids.
Awesome place with too many attractions to visit. Kids love all the spots where they can touch different kinds of fish! And the shark tunnel is something out of this world. Just get your tickets online to skip the lines. Philly across the river produces some nice views even before you enter the aquarium!
This is an amazing aquarium that my family and I loved! The shark tunnel was amazing... the stingrays and sharks you could touch were great. The 2 hippopotamus and penguins were awesome and the overall experience was great. I highly recommend it! 👌
08/02/2022:Came to Currents-The Ballroom at Adventure Aquarium for a dinner. It’s fun to closely watch fishes & sharks swimming peacefully in the aquarium while eating the delicious food. And the riverfront views of the bridge and the skyline of Philly are very beautiful!
Great family vacation day trip! Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Definitely recommend ordering tickets online and arriving on time. We arrived around 10:30am and ticket booth had a sign up that earliest ticket time at window was 12:30pm. We spent about 2 1/2 hours and were able to see all exhibits at a fairly relaxed pace. Favorites were the Shark Tunnel and the penguins outside. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was helpful. We did have lunch there. Cost was $60.00 for family of 4. Food was good though and fairly quick to get through line and find seating. For anyone sensitive to noise, it can get a little loud when at full capacity. Our autistic son did very well considering the crowds and noise, but noise canceling headphones might be a good idea for those with sensitivity issues.
A very awesome place especially if your kiddo is an animal lover. It has a lot of touch tanks, Shark Tunnel, Shark Bridge, and extra activities where you can observe certain animals more intensively. My son wants to join the Premium membership when he turns 13 to be able learn more about the animals in a closer perspective.
Fun for kids and adult alike! The Shark Skywalk was fascinating and the hippos were such a riot to watch 😁 There were a great amount of exhibits and the 3D shows were very entertaining! Id likely return but Id like to catch the ferry over from Philly next time. Itll add to the excitement for the day!
Always a great place to with kids or visiting adults. Great selections of marine creatures. Penguins, sharks and rain forest are the best. Also kids love touch the shark park.Gave 4 stars because of the front desk outside, they need training. Even Wawa provides way better service.
Awesome aquarium. Super convenient parking. Our favorite things were the hippos and the octopuses. Lots of exhibits where you can touch the sharks, starfish, stingrays, etc. Great for kids.
Loved, loved, loved it!!! One of my favorites from here to California. Petting sharks, feeding stingrays, to watching hippos play and eat, to walking through tunnels of sharks. Absolutely incredible hands on experience for adults and kids!
Really enjoyed my time here. Would love to come back again with my nieces.Bought tickets online, selected time and had them on my phone quickly. Parking wasnt bad for a Saturday afternoon. It was busy but the line to get in moved quickly.Aquarium wasnt as big as I thought but it was still very enjoyable. We went through it in about 2 and a half hours at a nice easy pace.Aquarium was clean, exhibits were nice and they had cool things to see.It was cool touching the stingrays, sharks, starfish, horseshoe crabs and other things. Nice exhibits for the kids.Did not try to food but they had 2-3 places to eat and plenty of room to sit at. Either outside or inside.Gift shop was nice as well that leads to the exit.Pay for parking machine gives out token that you give on your way out. It costs $10 for parking.
Hadnt been to the aquarium in many years. Its grown and very educational. We took the grandkids and they enjoyed it. We purchased the grandparents membership so that we can take them more often. It got crowded around lunch time and we left. Overall a pleasant experience
What a great experience for our group of 4 adults and two children. There were so many cool animals and fish to see. My daughter and I walked over the shark tank which was really neat. There were a lot of people there, but we had no problem getting around and seeing the exhibits.
I love aquariums and I had high hopes for Adventure Aquarium. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The exhibits themselves are OK - some are in better shape than others, and many are dirty (both inside the tanks and outside where you walk around). The layout is confusing and its hard to know what route to take to see everything. They have some fun activities, especially for kids, and there are a good number of food and drink options throughout. However, overall, it falls a bit short of being a flagship aquarium that can charge flagship prices. We went through the whole thing in 1.5/2 hours (Ive spent 3-4+ hours at other aquariums where I paid a comparable amount).
One of the best aquariums Ive ever been to. Its definitely more oriented towards children than some other aquariums, but thats what I loved about it! They had so many different touch tanks for kids and adults alike. I especially loved the outdoor play area for toddlers and the huge shark and turtle exhibits. Tickets are moderately expensive but absolutely worth it.
Had a great time. The Shark tunnel and Shark crossing was the best part. Lots of delicious food options but not much seating. Was overwhelmed at the amount of newborns and babies under 18months in strollers
We are members at the Adventure aquarium and like to visit a few times a season. My children and I went on a Monday afternoon and we spent a leisurely time wandering around and viewing the animals and exhibits. The kids got to experience a new virtual reality ride-on experience and watched a movie about whales. They really enjoyed it. It was $6 per member or $7 for non-members. Visiting the hippos and going through the shark tunnel is always a favorite of ours. The kids also take turns leading the way over the shark bridge. Our lunch of chicken tenders, fries, Mac and cheese and a hot dog was decent and filling. As members, we rarely visit the gift shop but it has a nice variety of clothing, toys and souvenirs. Members would get a small discount at the gift shop, the cafeteria and for parking as well. Going to the aquarium is always a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Very Small Aquarium compared to Baltimore Aquarium but it’s having everything you like to see and very neatly exhibited.. Two big Shark Tanks with multiple view points l, Lots of kids activities.. Shark Tunnel, Shark Hanging Bridge, Shark Pirate Area are very good.. Food looks more expensive to me.. Kids will love it..
We had a nice visit with our granddaughter today. They are a bit pricey but there is a lot to see. They had something thing called H20 Photo where they take your pictures and then you have to pick them up at a kiosk. Of course, we forgot! I’m so disappointed. They have a coffee area and a cafe and they both had decent quality food. Again…it was pricey.I always address the accessibility when I visit places. First, they have quite a few benches throughout the aquarium. There also ramps and elevators all throughout. I was able to navigate the aquarium with my scooter. For how expensive everything is there were definitely areas that were run down. Even the front of the entrance really needs a face lift.
Went on a Saturday around noon. Parking was easy and pretty convenient access from the highway. Not too crowded for a beautiful 68° day at the end of April.Security was quick and honestly didnt really check anything. The exhibits are well organized, pretty clean and well kept. You can tell things havent been updated in a couple years but thats expected in 2022. The exhibits were very much geared toward children, in contrast to Baltimore aquarium which is a little more geared towards teens and adults. There were multiple animal petting exhibits, a small kids play ground, coloring and various interactive stations throughout the aquarium. There was plenty of staff for the number of guests and there were no waits for any exhibit. The petting exhibits were well controlled and not a free for all, as I have seen at other zoos and aquariums. The food was ok, pretty much what you would expect at a zoo, aquarium or sports arena. The food was reasonably priced. Nothing to write home about.Overall a very good experience, Very kid oriented and would only recommend if taking children.
Great stop!Plan accordingly: it was very busy. And can be a challenge for the little ones to see.It is literally 10 minutes away from the historic district in Philadelphia. Very convenient. You can buy tickets online and skip the line. The online tickets list a timed entry but they are flexible. The aquarium was very busy when we visited. It is a little confusing at first but you can easily back track and see anything you have missed. You can see it quite quickly depending on the age of the kids. And still have a good time. :)The displays are very good: informative, creative, very well maintained. There are some very neat exhibits. The shark display is extremely cool and the hippo exhibit is huge as well.Do try to visit an Ocean Realm talk very informative. We were not able to watch the 3D theater show- and could not determine what times the shows ran.The facility is really well maintained: the exhibits and general cleanliness. Bathrooms were very clean given how many people were in the building. There is plenty of seating for food and lots of options. Everything smelled good. We didn’t stop for food but would another time. The only thing that was a little challenging was finding an aquarium staff member to ask any questions. Other than that: definitely a great experience for all ages.Plenty of parking in front of the aquarium. Easy access to the building: the aquarium is on the waterfront and so there is a great view and you can easily picnic outside as well. :)
Great place to go and actually see and interact with animals you learn about on TV. I was a little confused by the map and how to get certain places tho. Also, I had a hard time finding the elevator as I am disabled. However, the overall experience provided such a fun day with my daughter and I. (P.S. Pack food!)
I checked the reviews from lowest first and then highest and most recent. Not sure why some people didn’t like it….and complained about size of exhibits and cleanliness…after going I thought the value equaled the price. Also, the 3D movie was very well done and my 4 year old kept grabbing for the screen. For myself and two young daughters it was $118, but for the 2.5 hours we were there and then walked the riverfront path….it was a good $118 spent. I don’t think I could’ve done something else that captivated them as much.
Love love love it!! Just not the dining experience. Except that staff and everything else is awesome 👌 go and have fun. Its not too big so you can do it all in a day.
We loved the aquarium! The hippos and sharks are sensational, just amazing. As others note, these attractions can get crowded but I never felt it was too much or got in the way of our enjoyment. If you go with kids, going early in the day use recommended. I was surprised by how much there was to see and the variety of animals. We spent about 2.5 hours here and saw everything we wanted.
This is an excellent aquarium. We spent the day exploring there 2 levels. The shark tunnel is amazing!! The food is great but the price of admission is on the expensive side ($36.99but they keep the facility up to date, the enclosures are high-end so we felt it was worth it. Lots for kids and adults to do. Loved petting the sting rays and small sharks.
We went on a Monday and it was NOT crowded at all which was AWESOME! My kids loved the touch pools, hippo feeding, shark tunnel and bridge, and the play space outside. It was a lot of fun! For reference, my kids are 4 and 5 and I really feel like they got a lot out of this experience.
My family and I had a blast here. This was the second best aquarium I have been too. I loved that there was a play area for younger children and also a 3D movie room. The short film was adorable. I definitely plan on returning when I come back to town.
Brought my son & daughter here to see the mermaids & I loved it. 😍 My son was super shy though but I know he loved seeing the mermaids. He also loved the sharks & even tried to help the lady feed the hippos. 🤣 I will be coming back next year to see the mermaids again. 🥰
Amazing!!!! I had the time of my life! No matter your age, this place will leave you feeling like magic. Easy to get to. Lots of ground level parking. $10 at the kiosk when you leave. May I suggest you buy your tickets/reservation online to avoid the box office. There are lockers available for $8, the kiosk takes cards. There are elevators available that make it wheelchair accessible. You can bring strollers. Masks were not required to enter or visit. It can get a little warm inside at some of the exhibits so dress for comfort. Theres a cafe for eating, snack shops, too. The gift shop is awesome. Super habitats and exhibits. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Food and snacks are a little pricey, think movie theater but so good. The exhibits were orderly and well managed. Cash and cards are accepted. May I suggest seeing The Mermaids when they return. Pure magic!!!! Enjoy!!!!
I could spend all day here with my family. We loved it! Lots of amazing exhibits. We got to pet sting rays and sharks! Crossed the shark bridge and saw tons of different animals and sea life!We plan to return once the mermaids are in. That was the only thing we didnt get to see.Our favorite part besides touching the rays was the shark tunnel!
This is a beautiful aquarium. Lots to see. Feeding of penguins and hippos. 3D movies. Shark tank, the Shark Bridge and the Hippo Haven were very well done. It was worth the 2 hour drive to come down from north Jersey for the day. I want to try it again on a warm spring or summer day. There is a beautiful view of Philadelphia across the Delaware River from the aquarium. Oh , and they had real mermaids too!
We love this place. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The animals are so fun to see. The play area is a perfect halfway spot for my kids to burn off some energy. We love the different touch tanks, especially the sting rays and anemones. The shows are interesting and fun for a variety of ages. We usually bring our own food, so I cant speak to that. We enjoyed it so much, we even got an annual membership. Its not really an all day thing, but its a good couple of hours.
The best aquarium i’ve ever been to! You can touch some animals such as the sting rays and starfish. Definitely a great place for family outing. They also have hippo feeding, swim with shark options available for more engagement with animals. They also have cafe and food options available. Aquarium is part of go city pass.
I had a great time taking my young children here! Its a little small for the price but my kids had a blast! We went through the entire aquarium in under 3 hours with of exhibit visited twice and substantial time spent in the childrens area. The shark bridge was very cool though the line can get long. Even my 20month old was able to do it! This is a great way to spend a rainy Sunday!
This aquarium is the best aquarium i’ve ever been to! You can touch some animals such as the sting rays, starfish, baby shark, and sea urchins!! The workers are very friendly and knowledgeable of their work and the animals. Definitely a great environment for you and your family! If you are looking to learn more about sea life and wanting to have a great time than this place is SO worth it!!!
A great place for the family. My daughters favorite exhibits are the shark and hippo exhibits. The penguins are adorable. I also like the tanks with stingrays you can touch. My two year old is too scared of that but Im sure she will enjoy it when she is older. If you plan on going more than once its worth getting the membership. We got the membership and have gone about 5 times in the year and its been worth it.
My family and I had so much fun here. Theres so many things to do and look at. I love that youre able to touch the sharks and sting rays. That was my favorite part. Theres also this cool shark tunnel that you walk through and you can see sharks and all kinds of fish swimming all around you. The hippos were really cool also. I will definitely be making another trip back to this aquarium again in the future.
I enjoyed the experience here, but more importantly the children enjoyed it. This place is mostly for them 🙂. Im sure that grown-ups could enjoy themselves but I spent my time running after the children.😀Theres just too much to see. They have a cafeteria, as far as I saw you can buy food as well. There is a gift shop too. They have nursery room on premise, this is an absolute plus for the place. They have elevators and some escalators. The whole exhibition is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Parking lot is in front of the building, it was $10 on a Tuesday in 2022 January. We spent around 2h there. After leaving the exhibition dont forget to take a stroll at the riverside and enjoy the view. One thing I didnt like were the roads in Camden, but the exhibition helped me forget that.
I really enjoyed going although these types of things arent usually my style. From what I could tell the exhibits are kept clean and many of the more interactive parts are well handled by the employees! If youre bored one day and have a few friends with you, consider going to the aquarium! :D
So much fun! Medium sized aquarium (around 4 main areas/exhibits, A - D). You can tell the animals there are well taken care of and the tanks are clean. Loved the hippos and sharks — I could watch them forever! We went around thanksgiving time and the Christmas decorations in the tanks were so cute, love how the detail they put into it. Staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of kids there, but so much fun for adults too! Highly recommend.
