This zoo is a smaller version of Melbourne Zoo. But the animals are happy as they get a lot of attention from the staff. The main attraction is the Panada Bears. Nice enjoyable day worth going to have a look.

Love the zoo, friendly, helpful staff. Nice layout with lots of cool plants. Animals look content in good size, clean enclosures. Like the conservation efforts and message of this zoo. As an added bonus, the bat colony just outside is quite simple unbelievable, Ive never seen anything like it, amazing! Thanks Adelaide zoo 💖

Surprising large zoo to walk around. The annual membership is a must if you have little kids. In October there is Boo at the Zoo (Halloween Theme event). We have not been there but looking at the decorations (still not complete when we were there), it looks amazing if you are into dress ups and Halloween events. We love the zoo. The location in the city is convenient and there is a large Botanic Garden just next door. The only thing lacking from the zoo experience is good food. The food quality is average from past experiences and we had food poisoning once last year. But we dont go to the zoo for the food.

Had about 30 mins of panda activity by turning up at 1.15 for the keeper talk. The zoo is well worth visiting with active Sumatran tigers and a range of other animals you wouldnt usually see including nocturnal animals in a special dark enclosure. Best to follow the keepers talks as often the animals know when they are going to be fed. For us, it was worth it just for Wang Wang, the male panda. Helpful team at the zoo.

The good old Adelaide zoo is still a favourite in my family. Still some historic parts of the zoo mixed with some needed upgrades. The range of animals is good but the numbers of each species are low. Always fun for the kids and a great chance to test your skills with the camera. Good value, good facilities.

Amazing place. The animals are adorable, with a suitable enclosure for each species. The animal feeding is temporarily closed though. They have 2 of the cutest pandas, Wang Wang and Fu Ni. My favourite part. The are also Meerkats, even a white one!

Only a small space, but well laid out and so much happening. We even had the delight of seeing the Pandas, despite them not being on display. Friendly staff and great displays.Only complaint: limited souvenirs.

What a fantastic zoo to see animals in beautiful enclosures. The animals looked well cared for. Being over from England it was good to see native animals from Australia.

Its a lovely zoo in terms of gardens, paths and well established plants. On our visit a lot of enclosed we couldnt see/find alot of the animals. (Maybe they should put up some not one display signs Some of the enclosures are very sad like the lions and the main attraction the only pandas in Australia where all hidden because its spring and they are hanging inside with their lusty thoughts. Its a zoo, like all zoos it would be nicer to have some more space. But overall a lovely day out.

We celebrated our son’s 5th birthday in the zoo. Adelaide zoo’s team made the whole process seamless. Rob, our tour host, was informative and kept kids entertained. The playground at the zoo is one of the best Adelaide’s playground and keeps kids busy for hours.

Small zoo and unfortunately lots of enclosures empty or closed off on our visit (Pandas were closed 😭). Great location close to the city and I would say about a 2hr max adventure... Worth a visit if you feel the admission price is worth the 2 hrs of fun. Its not comparable to other Australian zoos (Like Taronga and Australia zooso keep an open mind.

Adelaide Zoo is fun and a great day out for the kids. We have been a couple of times now and the kids (aged between 5-8had lots to see and learn. The shows and feeding times are fun and an excellent opportunity to learn about the animals. The zoo staff are knowledgeable and happy to share their knowledge and answer all the childrens questions. We did find on both visits that many of the animals were in hiding and we were unable to see them.If you are a local or in Adelaide for a trip it is a fun day activity out for all.

Such a great day and a great experience!I bought a Christmas voucher for the Penguin feeding experience for my boyfriend back in 2019, unfortunately due to Covid we couldnt get to do that until now! July 10th 2022 was a great day! The Adelaide zoo were amazing to extend the voucher so that we could use it.We got all the information about the little penguins before heading in. The staff were so friendly and made us feel like family. We got to sit and feed the penguins, we got taught the wrong and right way to feed them. Little Dorie who was a rescue penguin and was blind in one eye touched my heart. They are so cute and im so glad we did that experience. I would recommend it highly!!

We visited during the Illumination event, tickets were purchased in advance. Although a ticketed event, it was very overcrowded and lots of waiting to be able to see the creatures clearly. The creatures were very cool, loved seeing them move and you could scan the QR codes to read more about them and the creators. We werent able to see any of the animal shows as they had limited spaces in each showing, with only 2 shows per night. We will definitely visit again

We used the SA experiences voucher and fed the giraffes and spent afew hours looking at all the animals at the zoo. Great value when you have a voucher. We loved feeding the giraffes and seeing the animals without the huge crowds due to the rainy weather. The keepers and volunteer tour assistants were really informative and helpful.

I was here on Sunday with Beam scooter around 2 km from China town only 11$. Lion and tiger are also there. But the bird cage that we can go inside the cage. Just becareful , the bird pee on me unfortunately. They also have a show and talk about info about particular animal on time table. Good for kids to hangout and learn stuffs. WC are also clean. 40$ for entrance. It’s not too too big for small kids to walk. They also provided the trolley like a mini Jeep call “zoo-ba-ru” for kids to ride on. I dunno they charge for the zoo jeep or not. Many students will be here too.

This zoo was really awesome . We have seen many of zoos and comparatively this zoo has plenty of space for the animals and the number of trees and plants around really makes it feel like you are in a jungle/Forest.We really enjoyed this zoo and the pandas and the Girraffes having a tall door to enter shade was our favourite 💛

Adelaide zoo is home to more than 2500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish spanning over 8 hectares of beautiful botanic surroundings. There are many events you can purchase such as animal feeding and even learning centres on zoo grounds to teach children about conservation and the importance of breeding endangered animals. The cafe on site is quite expensive however so do expect that.

Came with my family using our Victoria Zoo membership. My kids agree that this zoo is the probably the best of the zoos we’ve been to. It has a great collection of animals, great landscaping, a wonderful nature playground, and it is very close to our hotel in the CBD and easy to get to using Adelaide’s bus service. Spending a whole day at the zoo was a great experience.

Adelaide Zoo is a very nice place to pay visit with children. Every time we go there they have done pleasant improvements to the Zoo. Giant Pandas, Tiger enclosure, Lion and Lioness Nala are few of my favorites. Thought the Zoo is bit crowded they try their best to give the animals their natural habitat without making it looks like a cage. But can make more improvements.

The zoo is amazing, the cost of entry is 28 AUD if you have a student card or 38 AUD general fees. All the animals are well care, their spaces are clean, with a nice space to be. The volunteers are nice people who help you if you have any doubt or are lost. It is not too big but i to worth it as they have several animals from around the world. You can observe different animals from Australia like koalas, tasmanian devil, dingos, wallabies. Also, from another parts of the world you can admire lions, sumatra tigers, panda, giraffe, penguins. They have different type of birds and a place for reptiles which is really interesting where you can find komodo dragon, anaconda, turtles, and other variety of Australian snakes

Adelaide Central zoo on a very good location. I like the giant panda. Dont miss the bird show on the main lawn. There was no elephant. But it has giraffes, tiger, crocodiles. There is an adventure playground inside the zoo. Kids love it. Very good facilities of toilets. The zoo has wide space and I think it could have more animals, more varieties.

The zoo is a nice experience but not better than most others I have visited. Very good for children with a lot of Meet the Keeper educational shows through the day. We arrived at 945, most of the animals were hiding or asleep so I suggest to start in the afternoon. Took us 3 hours to see everything.

The Adelaide Zoo was not only a fantastic zoo for the brief moment that we were here, but the staff here are super helpful. Special mention goes to Paul (security guardwho went above and beyond to assist with our ill daughter who was becoming unwell due to dehydration. Russell (first aid officerwas also super helpful in providing first aid treatment to help her get better. Please pass this feedback onto management. We only got to see a little bit of the zoo, but well definitely return and would certainly recommend it to anyone. At least we got to see the giant pandas which is exclusive to this zoo. Yours truly @fooderarri

What an adventure! The staff were incredibly nice! My partner and I did 3 experiences; feeding the giraffes, feeding the lions, and feeding the little penguins. All staff were friendly, knowledgable and were willing to answer any question we had about the animals we were encountering. Their passion for the animals shone through. The resident photographer, Maggie was just a delight. We spent most of our day with her and it almost felt like we had a private tour guide. It was one of the best days Ive ever had. 10/10 recommend a day at the zoo, and if you get an annual membership you get discounts on a range of things too, which was fantastic!

Adelaide Zoo is an amazing place! What it lacks in size, it makes up for with amazing gardens and some incredible experiences whereby you’re in the tree canopies alongside the gibbons or you’re underneath golden maned tamarins as they dart through zoo on their own walkways. It used to be part of the botanic gardens so there’s amazing Morton bay fig trees that tower overhead. Incredible conservation and breeding programs as well as helpful staff and volunteers

Enjoyed the day at the zoo, after a number of years. It would seem a lot of the animals have been moved to Monarto (lots of empty cages). At 9.30am most of the animals were still snoozing, so would be wise to go later, around midday. Grandchildren loved the playground, very interactive. Lots of friendly staff and volunteers to help answer all our questions.
