Ethiopian cuisine and special coffee in a dining room with wood detailing and African motifs.
Great food with the real Ethiopian test. Friendly service. We didnt book before going so took a while to get sitted and for our food to be served, but it was worth the wait. Washrooms are clean which is a plus.
Great food, had kitfo, doro wot and tibs. Yum...good service
If all the vegan food is this amazing, I’m turning vegan right this second. BEST meal I’ve ever had that doesn’t include something from an animal
There are a generous number of vegetarian choices that are palatable. In fact if you have picky eaters with specific veggie preferences - i.e. no aubergine, or mushrooms, or bell peppers - you will still find variety to choose from. The food is well made and seasoned. The use of fresh, seasonal vegetables in the mixed platter was appreciated. The cabbage, which is associated with blandness and mushiness in most non-Asian cuisines, was cooked to retain its crunch and made for tasty fare. The only detractor was the ambience, which was a slight letdown for the simple, light, and delicious meal.
Tasty Ethiopian food and friendly service. Great place for intimate gatherings and conversations.
Great food - loved the Addis Special :)
An independent restaurant serving wonderful spicy foods. Staff were friendly and professional. We were able to have meals enjoyed by a vegan as well as confirmed carnivores.
Had a lovely meal if injera and lamb a bit like laal maas on roomali roti but not as spicy. Great service in this simple restaurant.
Food was nothing exciting. Service ok.Credit card machine "didnt work" so we had to look for cash.
Its a place where you say goodbye to hanger for whole full day, Once you ate your lunch or dinner. Excellent value for money too for so much satisfying and delicious food.
Amazing food worth going to. I have been multiple times already. Shame about the asian waiter who acted creepy towards females.
Interesting cuisine as it heavily overlaps with our Muslim and Indian food types at home (South Asia).Food was pretty good, some heat in the beef, and the whole fish (tilapiawas crispy till the end.
Great food at a great price! So good we went two nights in a row.
Never tried this kind of food. Simple and traditional. Low cost.
My first Ethiopian meal and I will be back! Absolutely delicious
Wonderful restaurant in Kings Cross. We found the food to be delicious. Interesting decor with beautiful photos and interesting articles on the country.
Amazing food and beautiful place.Staff very attentive and nice with us, I’ll come back for sure
Had the sardines to start, turns out it was just a frankenstein fish that was pieced together over years in the bottom of the deep freeze and stuffed with sand. Main course came out, got the beef which was frozen and microwaved, had the same consistency as a flip flop. We were topped off with 10 rolls of extra bread and spinach with a temperature duality. Cost me 16.66 which is the same year as the fire of London. I think I may start another one when I next use it the bathroom. All round good laugh tho. Would strongly recommend to anybody you dislike. Great first date spot.
Outstanding!! Polite staff! I felt like I was in Ethiopia all over again.
Tasty food. Sorry no pictures we ate it too quick.Friendly service, clean restaurant, nice decor. Make sure you eat your meal on enjira.
Really good food, very chilled atmosphere and cozy space. Recommended!
Stumbled on this place one night, having never been tried Ethiopian food, the staff were friendly and advised us on the best things to try, what an interesting and tasty cuisine, the vegetable dishes were as tasty as the meat was tender, well worth a visit. Came back this week intentionally and even though we got there late had another lovely meal and received the same warm welcome from the lady as we got there. Will definitely be back.
Omg. This place was amazing. Id had Ethiopian once before and it was poor so was a bit worried to try this place. Neednt have been. The waitress was nice and brought the menu straight away once we were seated. We ordered all the food and drink and it was pretty quick. I dont usually drink red but it was so nice we polished off 5 bottles and were never made to feel like we were in the way. Fantastic meal and service. Defo recommend for a day of day drinking.
Affordable and decent price-to-quality value. The indoors has got some decent authentic decorations, reasonably clean, food was decent and lots of space (not that kind a place you step one on another). Those who know the cuisine or have ties to Ethiopia would appreciate the place.
I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The staff were very nice and the food was amazing. I liked the decorations as well
Went on a monday late afternoon and was really quiet. First time tasting Ethiopian food and I really enjoyed it. Service was amazing and the waitress was attentive and even offered an alternative at no extra cost after tasting something but my friend declined. Will be going again sometime soon to try something different.
Very nicely decorated. It was my first time having Ethiopian food, maybe it was because I ordered the wrong dish but I didnt enjoy the food.
This place is absolutely stunning, not one complaint so far. The decor is on point, makes you feel very traditionaly intact. The food was delicious and its hygiene levels were splendid. We are definitely coming back.
“Great food but expect slow service and the card machine to be "broken"The food is delicious we always bring our friends and family here and they absolutely love it! The staff is friendly but really laid back so expect your meal to arrive 30 minutes after you sit.We always ask for the same dish (Addis specialand you get more than enough for two people! Expect your hands to smell of food the next day!The only down side is they keep saying their machine is broken but have all the latest stickers for amex and other cards outside. The machine has been broken for 3 years in my experience...
The food here is amazing. Super close to Kings Cross too fab for pre journey food.
The restaurant is very authentic. The interior really makes you feel like you’re in another country. The staff are very friendly and helpful explaining the different dishes. The food is very tasty, especially the fish dish!
What a lovely experience! To an Ethiopian-food-virgin like myself, the friendly staff explained the whole menu and were very helpful in general. I like the interior of the place, and its definitely somewhere Id like to go again.
Delicious! Had the Addis potatoes and the humus to start - perfect and simple - and shared a few vegan dishes between two for the main - hearty food, good injera but could do with a little bit more of that characteristic "fizzines". Still, one of the best Ethiopian places Ive been to.
Excellent food. Great Ethiopian adventure, very affordable, however it seems to take some time to get the staffs attention. And surprise-surprise, 21st century, central London and.... CASH ONLY.No matter what I recommend Addis as a fantastic place to spend time with friends, enjoy their food and atmosphere.
Good price for the typical quality within Ethiopian restaurants. You eat with your hands, doesnt fit all occasions but fun now and then. Food is tasty, the service could improve, but its decent.
Very nice Ethiopian restaurant, Nice food, friendly staff...
Lovely place unusual if you have not been to an Ethiopian restaurant before not expensive well worth a try. Good sized portions we didnt quite finish enjoyed every mouthful.
Nice location easy access from Kings Cross station. The deco was beautiful and authentic but the food was not really fresh and the serving small compared to other Ethiopian restaurants which I mentioned to the lovely waitress who served us. We were offered extra injera but there was no left sauce to eat it with so didn’t take it.
Good experience eating Ethiopian food with my hands. Awesome taste.
Nice environment, friendly staff, the quality of food is great. The quantity is also more and two people can’t able to finish the plate. The prince is also cheap.
Really not good Ethiopian food. Have had so much better elsewhere. Strange texture to our beef dish and lamb dish tasteless. Vegetable dish almost inedible. So disappointed as I love Ethiopian food normally. Service was good though, waitress very friendly.
The interior has changed and traditional seating on the left corner gone. But nice staff, good service and excellent location from Kings Cross.
My husband and I have been going to Addis for years. The food is absolutely delicious. The service is relaxed and slow so dont go if you are in a rush.
Literally my favourite restaurant in London. An awesome experience, a new taste and a new way of eating! I have been time and time again and will continue to do so!
I was happily surprised by the quality of food there (had Ethiopian cuisine a few years ago and wasnt that impressed). We had one of the injera meals (with saucy lamb), some lentils (really amazing, I dont want to know how much butter was in thereand a fish than was very well prepared - shared among two. Cant remember how much weve spent but it felt like good value and Id definitely come back.
Tasty food with good variety of chicken, beef and lamb and vegetarian dishes. My friend paid with his card so they do accept cards.my kebab was rather small so we had to order another but otherwise ok. I agree with other reviews : nice atmosphere service and not expensive for The area. They open till late Sundays. Bravo
Interesting food experience. Spicy lamb meat (Ye beg wotwas my best dish. Beef we ordered as medium cooked was bit sloppy. Everything was bit sour but still fresh and nice. It seems that many people with Ethiopian origins often visit the place which proves it has quite authentic taste.
First taste to Ethiopian food & must say it is rather a unique experience. For someone who has no clue how their food is like, I would say the pancake tastes a little bit like Indian thosai. It has that sour Taste to it and it is a tad thicker. The curries or dip is like Indian curry too except that It isnt as spicy. Definitely will recommend any traveler to give it a shot!
Pleasant surprise! As soon as you walk, you know you are going to have a good Ethiopian experience. It smells amazingly cosy with the coffee aroma in the air. There are no cutlery, you need to use your hands to eat the delicious food. Break a piece of Ethiopian crepe, use it to pick up your food and Yummy! Love it!Not to mention the service! The waiters are really genuinely friendly and they make you feel welcome. You kinda forget you are in London
First time I had Ethiopian food and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the service was quick and friendly and the decor was funky. If you want to try something different I would recommend this place. Enjoyable night. The price was good, I thought it would be more expensive considering the location.
