This laid-back hostel in a Georgian townhouse is 1 km from Connolly Station and 1.6 km from the Old Jameson Distillery. The private rooms and dorms are bright with funky wallpaper and bold patterns. They come with en suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, and beds with built-in electric sockets, USB plugs and reading lights. Dorms sleep up to 16, and all-female rooms are available.A light breakfast buffet is included. The communal kitchen has tea and coffeemaking equipment, and the airy common room has computers and board games. Lockers (surcharge) are available, as are free daily walking tours and nightly pub crawls.
I stayed at this Hostel 20 years ago! its been around for a VERY long time. It was the first hostel i ever stayed at traveling solo to a new country. Good memories staff was always nice back then. Seamus and Patrick. Probably long gone now.
Its very clean and well Ron I like staying here
I arrived for 3 days to Tel Aviv to visit my friends and family, and Hostel Abraham was the natural choice for me. With cousy and affordable rooms, incredible staff that made my experience much better, you just cant go wrong.I am Israeli so I think tourists can take advantage of the place much more. They have many tours they offer, maps, guidelines for the city and the entire country really. I wish I had a place like this when Im going abroad.I would definitely recommend Abraham Hostel.
Place took my money for booking, showed up after a three hour train journey from Limerick only to find the place closed. No apology, no sign saying that it was closed. I had to find a hotel room at short notice for great expense. Avoid.
I stayed here for 2 nights and I really enjoyed it. The staff was super cool, from those at the front desk to those who clean the rooms. It is located near the airport shuttle. The rooms were super clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
Great hostel! The staff was really nice and accommodating. The hostel is also a lot bigger than I expected. What I especially loved was that there was a "private" bathroom in each room so that added a bit to the privacy factor. And although I was only there for a day I still managed to met some new people and go on one of their pub crawls! The reason I didnt give a 5 star is because of where the kitchen is situated and that they dont provide locks for the luggage storage (you need to buy(4€)/bring your own). Regardless, this place was great and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I go back to Dublin (soon!😊✌🏽
Sincerely for those who come in a group of friends it is good, now avoid for those who are aloneI do not recommend this hostel, I had a horrible experience, during the night I was in the room and a group of boys arrived where they took pictures of me sleeping, and they did not have the slightest respect for whoever was here, this is unacceptable! Come say it is one of the best and I really dont know where or why?
Awesome place to stay overall. Very friendly people working there, up to help you with anything you need.Stayed at one of the 10 beds room with few friends, pretty neat, 1 bathroom (Shower and toilet separated rooms).Breakfast included, offers toasts, 3 types of cereals, milk, orange/apple juice. Soluble coffee and cacao. The location its wonderful, and it has an airport bus stop RIGHT next to it.
If you want a decent hostel thats affordable, well located, has friendly staff and serves breakfast, then you are in luck. If you enjoy sleep however, you are not. There is a fire door (which leads to the roomswhich shakes the doors of the rooms beyond belief. It felt like the building was experiencing small tremors over and over again. So didnt really sleep at all.
Stayed here in November while out visiting a friend that lives in Ireland. Rooms are decent sized and warm. Location is good for the City Centre. Only criticism is somebody was sick in the corridor and it wasnt cleaned up for hours.
Rooms are small and pretty dirty. The bathrooms are even smaller and dirtier. Its a place for youngsters and backpackers. The breakfast is really stint and not much choice. There is not a common area where people can meet and theres pretty bad vibes around the hostel. However, the location is pretty amazing and the rooms cheap. I would not come back but its a nice choice for travelers
How can I sum this up. I see nothing positive about this hostel except the surprisingly good Wifi. All the rest was complete filth and dirt, the sheets were dirty and full of hair, the staff didnt even greet me once, the toilets were unusable and the whole hostel had a weird smell. Yeet
Not too bad but not a very social place. No real big area for a common room. Bunk was squeaky as well. Pillow was like super thick to and you have to make your own bed which is very common for hostels but not in Ireland usually.
This is undoubtedly a hostel I wouldnt send my worst enemy to.I was situated in a six-bed room, which all in all, counting the space that the three bunkbeds took up, could not have been more than eight square meters. There was a connected room which barely qualified as a bathroom, no bigger than *2 square meters,* of which one was a shower that we found with an unidentifiable, *brown clump stuck to the floor.* The sink and toilet were exactly next to each other, almost overlapping, so that you could not even turn around in the "bathroom" without hitting your knees on anything. We waited for one hour until we were told we could finally enter our room, which we then found entirely *uncleaned.* Trash was stacked in and around the bin, our beds were only half stripped of their bedsheets. In our bathroom, there were *clumps of hair and saliva* smeared to the mirrors, as well as *bloody pads and tampons* in the bin next to the toilet.Upon going to the reception to ask for another CLEAN room, the staff was extremely *rude,* sneering at us that they were completely booked and not seeking to find any solution to our problems. Finally, after refusing to let up, we were sent away with the promise that someone would be there to clean up our room "in five minutes". After fourty-five minutes, a single cleaning man came to remove the trash out of our room, leaving the bathroom as it was. Nearly two hours later and after inquiring once again at the reception, another cleaner came and finally removed the hair from our bathroom mirrors, leaving the clumps of dirt in the showers as they were.In our provided bed sheets, which did smell freshly washed, we found mutiple and individual *dark hairs.* Two of the six of us situated in this room opted to using their own bed sheets during our stay. We requested new bed sheets and after two hours, we were finally allowed to go retrieve them ourselves. The door to our room was situated in a very dimly lit, hard to get to, narrow corridor that *reeked horrendiously* for the entire duration of our stay. To get to the room, we were required to go through about three narrow hallways with sofas that looked and smelled like they had been pulled from the trash. The kitchen was dark, located in the basement, uncomfortable to get to and very *unhygienic.* Few people dared to use any of the toasters or microwaves situated there. There were two refrigerators with many sealed up, expired food items or leftovers on plates that had obviously already been there unmoved for days. Every morning, we received two kinds of untoasted bread and small packaged butterpackets as "breakfast", on a *filthy, sticky counter,* for us to eat in an athmosphere like a prison cafeteria. There were two doors to toilets right next to the tables.A towel "disappeared" from our room. One of the *worst experiences* I have had with any hostel, ever.
the places is moderate nothing out of place only that one of the occupants in the room I slept in had a foul smell. This smell was way too much even when the window was open. Further, the room is like a cubicle, way too small to breath. The socket next to my bed weren’t working even the light. The customer service was great. I made few friends from Paris, so I would give them 4stars
the place is very clean and organized. the bathroom although small is comfortable enough for a hostel. has hot and cold water, a good kitchen, several living areas and a great wi-fi. the beds are good and we received the bed linen upon check in.
The room was very clean and so were the beddings. Provided with freshly laundered bedsheet on registration . Good security rules and a very clean dining and kitchen area in the basement . I had a very comfortable stay here with my family over night as we had to catch a plane the next morning . We didn’t use the shuttle as we rented a car . No parking facilities so we left our luggage in the car and packed overnight kit . There’s no lift but we were given a room on the first floor so that was convenient . Good location and value for money as we were not looking for any frills .
We slept in a girls-only bedroom, it was spacious, had high ceilings and a nice airflow. The system with the security card worked out well for us. As we only stayed one night, I cant say anything about the breakfast. Showering worked out nice even though the shower was a bit broken. As it is located right in the city center, the high price for the room is only justified by its location. Lots of shops and restaurants are less then 5min away.
The staff are nice. Rooms are clean. But one of the toilets near my room wont flush easily. Im staying in a room with 15 other people and while theyre very nice, listening to others snore feels like torture and gives me headaches.
This hostel was pretty dirty. I was there for 3 days and I dont think the bathroom was cleaned once. The entire building smells fairly mouldy and some of the clientele is fairly sketchy. They do serve free breakfast, which is nice, and the location was good, but I couldnt wait to get out of there.
This is the worst hostel Ive ever stayed in. I was waiting until I had more experience traveling so Id have others to compare it to, and now I can truly say YIKES. I was checked into a room where only one bed was left for me and I was there for 2 nights. On the second night I was woken up my a man loudly opening the door and grabbing my leg before angrily telling his other drunk friends that I had "stolen" his bunk- the same bed I had been in the night before. I felt so uncomfortable with how he was yelling about it I pretended to be asleep. I should also mention the beds werent numbered, so clearly he had come in and claimed my bed just because I happened to not be there. This makes me think the staff stripped my bedding despite me not checking out until the next day. 6 beds in the room I was in was excessive, and the bunk beds seem like ones made for 12 year olds. Also: the sink was in the middle of the room??? You either have to brush your teeth in the dark or turn the light to the room on and wake everyone up. There was urine all around the toilet and mold in the shower as well, mostly in the curtain. Staff was fine and I have no complaints about how I was treated, but clearly there is a lack of organization when it come to who is in what bed in what room. Finally, fyi, if you want to leave your bag there they charge you several euros by the hour. I understand hostels are hostels and youre getting budget accommodation and sharing with others, however I paid $35+/night for this experience which is honestly in the mid range to higher end for hostels, especially outside of busy seasons. Ive stayed at better places for £9- then again I think a subway bench would have been better, and frankly, felt safer. At least then it would have been free.
[+] Great position in Dublin, affordable prices for a good service. Super-varied breakfast, comfortable beds, plenty of common spaces and landings with sofas and plugs you can use. Friendly staff, massive kitchen, good lockers for personal belongings.[-] ensuite toilet and shower room in the dormitory, and in general not enough toilets for that many people. Labyrinthine building.
As far as hostels go, not terrible.Pros: cheap, relatively clean, efficiently run, good location, friendly staffCons: temperature in the rooms was too hot, the power strip failed to charge my phone during the night
The place is large and the beds do the trick for a cheap place to stay, but the shower and bathroom in my room were covered in black mold which sets of my asthma was not to thrilled about that. Mold is not that hard to clean up and if they just maintained a weekly mold check and spray to keep it away this place would get 5 stars.
Dear owners of this hostel,I really enjoyed the location of this hostel, for it was very central and sites like the Temple Bar district are easy and fast to reach plus the Wi-Fi was very good but not enough to get you another star. Those are the only positive things I can say. The morning starts with a really disappointing breakfast, my tipp is to go to the nearby Lidl and get yourself something to eat. There are only cornflakes, toast and some sort of artificial strawberry jam. The breakfast room feels like a bunker and that is not an environment you want to eat your breakfast in. The bathrooms are small and especially in the rooms for 10 people absolutely insufficient. We had to set up the rule that you had to drop your load in one of the "public" toilets because the ventilation system didnt really work. A roommate of me went to the toilet and was locked in because the lock broke. We had to kick in the door. You cant open the windows completely. It could have become one of the most awesome trips in my life, but this hostel you really worsened it.
Great services. Great location. Comfy beds. The free breakfast was awesome! A large variety of cereal, bread/toast, condiments, juices and hard boiled eggs! The only issue i had was with the charging dock at each bed. In my room none of the charging docks were working.Had to inform staff, of which they fixed it (think it was a power issue).. however the power turned off again 30mins later... I was unable to charge any of my devices
The Abrahams Hostel was my first hostel experience, and it has certainly set the bar high. The atmosphere is friendly, secure, and traveler-accommodating. I stayed a single night, but Ill be happy to stay there on my next trip to Dublin. There are two doors that require being buzzed through/having a keycard, and that doesnt include the key to your room, so I felt extremely safe despite being in the absolute middle of the city. There is always someone at the front desk, too. Guests have access to a kitchen, baths, a deck, lounge, and free and paid lockers. Another perk is that the location is right in the middle of several fun places to go. Also, the beds were super comfy!
Not bad, not good. Perhaps a little less than what is typically expected from hostels. The whole thing is like a maze, so if you have claustrophobia beware. Not particularly clean, but it offers a place to sleep, and a shower to clean
Great location, bedding and breakfast included in the price. We stayed on the top floor, bit of a hike up the stairs with our suitcases. Not very clean (mold on the bathroom wall). All in all pretty good for the price.
Save your money to avoid a moldy shower, a toilet that doesn’t flush, and a comforter that shouldn’t be allowed to have the word “comfort” in it. All around kind of gross, dirty, sticky. I contemplated not even showering just to avoid the bathroom. Staff was fairly nice/helpful
The location is great! Buses just around the corner and bus to the airport at the door and city centre just a few minutes walking. You have also a bar in the corner of you fancy to eat something without going too far.The staff is nice. The dorms are quite ok, with bathroom+shower inside the room. Also you can rent towels for 1€ or less. The breakfast is included and its buffet style, toast, milk, cereals, yogurt , eggs... etcThey also have lockers. You have to pay for them but it wasnt expensive.
A nice fairly central hostel. The mattress was a bit worn and the toilet/shower in need of a facelift, but otherwise good value for money. The kitchen has microwave, oven and 2 hobs. I could however only find 2 sharp knives and no toaster for use after breakfast. It wasnt squeaky clean, but better than some places Ive been. Overall good enough I wouldnt mind staying again.
Really friendly & helpful staff. Other guests are pretty decent and you can meet people from all over the world. Kitchen has everything you need and you get free breakfast (bread, jam, eggs, cereals).5/5 would stay here again!
Location is good...thats about it. It was over priced. I paid 40 Euros for a bunk bed in a tiny stinky dorm room. Breakfast was decent. Staff were okay.Basically for hostels its a hit or a miss. The hostels in large cities tend to be dirtier and more expensive than those in smaller towns.
5 minutes to the city center, bus station right in front of the hostel with connection to the airport, room is equiped with cages for everyone but I advise to bring you locker so you can keep your belongings saved. In the shower there was hard to set the water temperature but thats only one con. Last day after check-out we were able to store our luggage for free in the hostel. Common kitchen offers all necessary equipment and hostel offers breakfast with sandwich, cereals and yogurt for low charge. I can recommend!
Affordable place to stay at Dublin. Rooms are usually filled on weekends so it is difficult to get the booking done. Breakfast provided is good as well.. Over all , nice place to stay and rest while travelling around.
You pay for what you get. A bed to sleep in, nothing too fancy. We were only paying $25 CAD each night to be there, so I wasnt expecting much. I liked the fact that there was a daily cleaning service, so our room wasnt too unkempt by the time we got back from our daily trips. The lockers under the bed were a plus too.
It felt like we were going through a laberynth to get to our room. The kitchen is underground, and smells of greasy oil and crabs in the sun. Great way to walk into your breakfast! The only positive, great beds. They all have plugs and USB ports for charging, and an individual light.
Nice hostel, great staff. Well thought out, kitchens and dining area clean, light and airy. Old building in a good part of Dublin, walking distance to lots of attractions. Good age range of guests, nice communal spaces.Wi-Fi was great and accessible from everywhere.
Staff is really friendly. Beds are comfortable and the guests are pretty nice. Meeting people from all over the world is great and this is a wonderful place to start. Several hang out places inside and right in front of the hostel
One of the best hostels around! Very clean, with electricity, light and locker for each bad... I have been in room for 4 with separate toilet and shower. They are usually fully booked cause of their good services, so use online booking day before ;)
Perfect for backpackers, great kitchen with free hot drinks, oven, microwave, fridge for all to use. Lots of stairs in the hostel so a little frustrating with a suitcase as there are no elevators. Cheap, pleasant, overall a great place to stay.
Ive been in this hostel some times. Staff and security are very good. Beds have their own plugs. Last time I was in a room with the sink beside me, I didnt like that but its a very good place. Breakfast is enough and the kitchen is big and with facilities. They let you leave your luggage all the time you need.
The staff was really nice and helpful. Our room was located in the last floor and it was really long way to walk there. The breakfast was free, so didnt have high expectations for it, normal hostel breakfast (toast, juice, yoghurt, coffee)
Very clean with excellent staff. My roomies were wonderful. I love that there is no curfew and that its about a 10 min walk to all the pubs. Convenient location close to a grocery store and local pubs with music every night 2 min walk away. Kitchen has a huge seating area and is kept clean. Breakfast was lovely with good choices of fruit and cereal, toast and eggs. Shower was a bit tiny but everything else has been excellent. would stay again for sure.
Stayed in an 8 bed girls dorm. Nice to have a power outlet at each bed and also bathroom within the room. Good breakfast with more than just toast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Simple room with 6 of us in, loads of space and plugs for every bunk bed.Decent location a 10-15 minute walk away from the pubs.Staff were great, really helpful with directions.Would go again.
The hostel has very thin walls, so if anyone in the building is moving around at night, you will hear it (and at great volume). If youre a heavy sleeper (or plan to be out all night!its probably fine, but I am the opposite of that (very noise-sensitiveand as a result, ended up moving to a hotel two days into my stay.Having said that -- the staff was SUPER helpful and empathetic when I explained why I had to cancel. They went out of their way to offer potential remedies and were helpful getting me checked out, and so on. That, plus the excellent location, would let me recommend this hostel to someone less fussy -- especially a group (some of my bunkmates were a bit...weird). The bathrooms were a little gross though, but I think that had more to do with the aforementioned roommates than anything (please remember to pack your good manners when youre travelling!)
Dorm rooms are very basic and not necessarily designed with anything more than packing people in in mind. Noise from upstairs floorboards and doors can keep you awake. No communal bathrooms / showers other than the cramped one in your dorm (of 8, in our case). Breakfast is fine but super basic with a slightly impractical layout. No bar area or food, unlike some other Dublin hostels. Location perfectly fine.
Nice surprise!Clean and well organised hostel. Amazing considering the price you pay and how many people stay there. Mixed crowd: travelling groups, more mature people, families and loads of youngsters of course. Some more silent than others...Good breakfast for a hostel (cereal, fruit, juice, yoghurt, toast, different kinds of jam,...)..Staff is ready to help, even though they seem to be doing a hundred things while talking to you. Give you correct information.Specially the night staff is ready to help plan your trip and chat away the night. In short: we cancelled our reservation in a different hostel for a private room just down the road, because we felt very safe, well taken care off and getting worth for our money.
