Amazing view in cloudy weather

Great landscape but you have to be lucky to actually see the clouds. Also although it has an entrance fee, roads are unpaved and there are no amenities available.

One of the most beautiful dream natures in Iran. Life In The Heart Of The Clouds. It is as if you are closer to heaven. If you have not had this experience before, I highly recommend you try it. The best time to travel is in May and early autumn

Amazing nature. but there should be more facilities and better road.

It is fantastic. However it is a little distant from the entrance, it surely wirth it. And if you are up to stay for night, you should have bought enough log and fire wood before entering the forest.

A fascinating view of Abr Jungle. Abr means cloud in Farsi. I shall introduce you one of the most important places in the world where you should travel to see and enjoy. Alborz range in Iran is located in the northern part of the country. The Alborz highest mountain is Damavand with 5,671 metres in height. Hyrcanian mixed forests lie from the easternmost to the westernmost point of Alborz range. Throughout Alborz range, between southern side of Caspian sea from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Republic, we can observe a majestic nature which is still intact regardless of ancient history. The jungle belongs to Cenozoic era. Shahrood and Damghan, two cities with more than 7,000 years of history, are situated in the border of southern skirt of Damavand range and Kavir desert. The ancient name of this place is Qumis, where is in the middle of the Silk Road. You can access the jungle from these two cities easily. Why people named it Abr? Because of the fact that most of the time clouds stand over the jungle. Thus, there is no distance between clouds and earth. In fact, the Alborz range behaves like a wall so that clouds can not move from North to South or from Caspian sea to Kavir desert. Therefore, you can see a very green zone in North of Iran and a massive desert in South. Besides, a low and a high pressure atmosphere collide here and it is an incredible phenomenon.

I had a visit in May and I think it was the wrong month to visit this area, the weather was hot really.

It is very far from tehran but the view is beautiful. You can camp there or stay at traditional hotel at Bastam city.

The place does have like 25 kilometers distance from the main road15 kilometer is asphalt and the rest is dirt road (good road)But its worth of it to go there.

Indisputably unbelievable, one of the best thing to have been process through my eyes and nervous system. Really makes you ponder about a higher being. I left spiritually maturer than I came.

Jangal e Abr or Cloud forestCloud forest is One of spectacular and amazing nature in Iran . This jungle is one of oldest and most beautiful Hyrcanian forests . Jangal e Abr is located in Shahrud town and is most scenic place of iran . this forest, clouds are so close to the trees that makes it seem like the forest is riding the clouds and you can walk on top of clouds .You can get fresh air and sense unique place .

Amazing forest and clouds and waterfalls

Keep in mind that it is not cloudy every day and even every time in day. Its road is very bad and only SUVs can reach deep in the forest. Normal cars can reach its border hardly.

Unbelievably Beautiful ! Wish I could stay there longer. Perfect place for camping, being one with nature. Its mostly cloudy, thats why its called Cloud Forest. Id definitely recommend visiting this breathtaking jungle.

Jangal-e Abr(literary meaning Cloud Forest)Is one of the oldest and most beautiful forests in Iran. It is the continuum of northern forests in the south of Alborz mountain range.It is called cloud forest because in most seasons it is covered by an ocean of clouds and fog.Inside the thick forests, you cannot believe that you are in Semnan province, not far from Iran’s Central Desert and Khar Turan National Park, a biosphere reserve.

Sadly didnt get a chance to visit it when i stayed in Shahroud but I really LOVED TO however about what I heard is, its all good to visit it early in the morning that late around noon cause it can be dangerous and also the ground is made out of sand so itll be alil difficult to walk

Cloud forest area is weird forest, life is mixed with clouds existence and people earn money from tourist who drives kilometers to visit travel of clouds.I suggest you if you want stay during in this area go to forest and sleep under tent it will be a unique experience.

I definitely suggest you going & camping in Clouds Forest. Its nature isnt boring due to diversity of trees and different kinds of nature there. During sunset go on the top of the hills and see those magnificent clouds which covers the whole forest.

Beautiful. Ive never been there, but if I could go to Iran, I would visit this place. I cant visit because I am American. Maybe someday things will be different and I will see Clouds Forest for myself. :)

Beautiful beautiful Forrest that keeps surprising you if you are in your lucky day.We kept driving up the mountain and it was an okay view but I didnt went there for an okay view of distanced trees. We were almost on the top of mountain and I still couldnt see any cloud or actual forest. But suddenly its cloud showed its face and it was amaaazing. I walked into clouds and it was fresh and a bit cold that I felt a lovely chil moment. Its everything was amazing but if you get lucky to be there when clouds are there.

We took the road from Aliaba- Shirin Abad and despite what google suggests this road is not paved, very dangerous and not accessible with normal cars. We had to turn back and actually we could not visit the place.

A perfect nature with lots of mist and cloud in front of your face all the 12 month a year!
