Abbey of the Roses -Hotel Warwick QLD in Warwick

The Abbey Boutique hotel was an amazing weekend away. We felt well cared-for from the moment of arrival, and even before as Sonia helped us plan our arrival so that we would make it in time for dinner in town. Their restaurant was also delicious. Although short-staffed, everyone was so lovely, we didnt notice - the service was genuine, attentive and helpful. Mark gave great tips on what to do in the area as well. Finally - they went absolutely above and beyond when I forgot my jacket at a nearby cafe and they went and collected it and posted it to me.We were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Abbey Boutique Hotel.

Nothing short of superb. Mark is super friendly and welcoming. The property is a charming old world treasure and should not be missed on any trip to Warwick. Bazil the cat will also be most pleased to see you. Do your self a favour and make a point of staying here.

Beautiful historic accommodation, so unique! Where else in Queensland can you experience history like this?We spent two nights in the Mercy Suite upgrading from the Veranda Room because we decided having a larger room with a king size bed, ensuite within the room and a private veranda was better than having a fireplace and a separate (but privatebathroom. Although it was too cold to stay long on the veranda in winter!With a lovely three course dinner and breakfast in the old Chapel to complete the experience, I would definitely recommend this amazing place to stay.

Did not get to stay because we caught COVID, was informed of non refundable booking so knew the risk will try a more understanding host next time. I thought moving the date would not be a norm during these COVID times apparently not. Did not even offer to refund cleaning rate of the room as it would not be needed unless the is being rented out again.

We had two nights booked for Christmas in July this weekend 22/23 July 2022 unfortunately caught covid so we couldn’t make it tried to get a refund or change dates to stay another time but was greeted with no help whatsoever will never visit or recommend this hotel

This is a really special place to stay. The history, the well kept gardens and impeccable hospitality. The rooms are clean and well maintained. I love this place.

Went there with a tour group for Friday night and Christmas 🎄 in July the meal was excellent the staff were all very pleasant , polite and helpful their attitude helped make the night a success. I would strongly recommend this to everyone

Lovely welcoming staff, even special greetings from Basil the Abbey cat. Enjoyed the 3 course dinner and cocktails served with a theatrical preparation!

Amazing location at an old convent. Beautiful old building with great service. Drinks and food was amazing and the people serving were very attentive and helpful. Higly recommended this place.

The Abbey is absolutely beautiful. He grounds are very nice to walk around. Some rooms are much better than others. Being a person with a disability my room choices were limited to one. It is actually outside the Abbey itself on a verandah. The staff are lovely.

AVOID AVOID AVOID The owner needs to learn how to talk and behave around women. He is a bully. We stayed over with our 2 adult kids last night. We were washing some plates in the kitchen as it was my sons 23 birthday at 9.40pm the owner came in said we need to keep quite to which i said sorry i will tell the kids(by the way they are 22 and 23 and was not loudi though he would leave but he had other intentions. He stood in the door way with crossed arms and prevented us from leaving the kitchen. We we petrified our son in the passage when to call my husband to sort him out but he just would not stop. I am glad he is not my husband as i think he need to learn about communication. He is lucky that we did not call the cops as i was planning to do this. SHAME ON HIM! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO SCARED IN ALL MY LIFE AS A WOMAN. The joke is an hour earlier our family decided to use the hotel once a month as we come out to warwick to ride our buggy. ....after this never again. If this is how you work to gain and retain new customers your failing big time.

I am a couple of weeks late writing this review as for once, I am simply lost for words. What a hidden treasure.I would never have imagined finding such an historical piece of well preserved history literally on our doorstep. The owners have done an amazing job at keeping the Abbey alive and we should thank them for all their hard work along with their dedicated manager Rob and the staff.The food we had on the first night was delicious, it’s just a shame that they don’t cook every night otherwise I wouldn’t have left the building. It was so romantic wandering the gardens and having wine and cheese under the gazebo.We will most definitely be back.

Loved spending the night at Abbeys. Its a beautiful place, full of character. Signs through the place tells the history behind each ambient.

After many long years I finally entered the doors of the great Abbey Of The Roses. Everything was breathtaking from the gardens to the lights, the food to the customer service. We felt like royalty eating in the halls and soaking in the history. Everything was to die for, I can not wait to be back.

Historic premises revamped into very comfortable rooms and well appointed throughout.Dinner was fantastic and well priced. Service and Staff were amazing. I highly recommend either a stay at this place, or if booked out at least go there for dinner.

A stunningly beautiful, uniquely historical, and honouringly restored venue. Our room was exceedingly special! Every well-planned detail so very lovely. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous. Professional staff, excellent service, delicious meals. Thank you! Thoroughly recommend this experience!

Gorgeous building and gardens. A truly lovely old lady.Once we walked through the front doors, we were welcomed by the wonderful Rob and shown to our beautiful suite. Stayed in room 9 the Mercy Suite. Super comfy and quiet.Found a yummy cheese plate with delicious treats in our fridge. We then sat on our private verandah and enjoyed it with a bottle of bubbles.Later we went down stairs to the dining room where we both were treated to a really nice meal. We had dinner both nights. Service was excellent on both nights with Tiffany and Andrea making our dining experience really fun and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble.We have decided that we will definitely visit again. There are quite a few rooms we would like to stay in. So many lovely choices.This is a bit of history and an experience not to miss if people are ever in Warwick. Worth the visit.

What a unique stay here at the Abbey! We had a really great time enjoying a cheese platter on our arrival and wine in the lounge over a game of cards in the evening. The grounds were gorgeous and the rooms and abbey itself were so interesting and fun to explore.Staff were lovely and we really enjoyed our cuddles with Bazil the cat!

We had our wedding here and it was more than we could have ever expected. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All our guest loved staying here also. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique wedding location.

Great old building, however they dont have have bathrooms in the rooms, so a bit like staying in a creaky old pub that has been dressed up. Bathrooms are down the hall and quite basic and extremely small

What a delight to see this historic building so loved and shared with the public by a very dedicated couple who, in their own words, are stewards of a piece of Australias past. Stayed there more than 6 months ago with my brother and Im still telling people about it. It was great to be able to borrow bikes to cycle around town.

We really loved it allUNTIL we put on our robes. They must have been rehung and not washed after last visitors. One had a used shower cap in one pocket and used tissues. The second robe had splattered old blood on it. This was so disappointing as the rest of the stay was great.

A beautiful venue with staff who just couldnt do enough for us. We fell I love with Abbey when we drove out from the Gold Coast to look at wedding venues. We quickly booked a nights stay to get a feel for the Abbey and it was pure magic! We got married there a few weeks ago and it was nothing short of magical, from the amazing staff to the venue itself. Sonja and her team answered every call, every question, the looked after us and our family and friends made our dreams come true. We cannot wait to visit again soon!I wish we could give more than 5 stars xxx

OMG Amazing place. Service beyond what would be expected. Catered for food allergies and just amazing. Our room was massive and the attention to detail was perfect. It was a romantic getaway and it was perfect. We loved it, highly recommend it if you want to get away and have some time for yourself. We will be back and try one of the other rooms. Staying here is like staying on someones house almost. It small and personal and just perfect.

Stayed here over the Easter long weekend and felt very well looked after by the welcoming staff. This impressive old building is in great hands. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. This is a wonderful spot to call home while exploring the local area.

Thank you Abbey Boutique Hotel we loved our stay. We stayed in “The Mercy Room” beautiful large room, loved all the history and charm of such a grand building. We had the hot brekkie was yummy and the owners were very informative and friendly. We will definitely be back.

A perfect getaway in a beautiful town. The owners are a dedicated duo,who work tirelessly to accommodate your every need. So much fascinating history in this Grand building, ohhhhh and the breakfast are a great start to the day, quality bacon, and 10 outta 10 omelettes.

A historic building with decent display and amazing design. Quite and tidy room. Super warm and friendly staff!! The lady at reception (sorry I forget her namekindly helped us with so many things! I’ll give her 10/10 for the great customer service. DVD and bike is available if you need. BTW: the Cat boss Mr.B also looked after us all the time^^. Don’t miss this great hotel/place to enhance your Trip experience.

Fantastic couples stay. We had room 6, it was huge, with a big bath and ensuite. The whole place is yesterday charm magnificent. Very friendly staff and an included light breakfast.You need a car, but Warwick has steam train trips, so check the timetable and plan around that.This is a great place and definitely worth a visit.Basil though can be a tad aloof though. But that is OK, he is the cat.

My partner and I spent two nights at the Abbey this weekend and it was absolutely magical! It is stunning - with a rich history that has been preserved so beautifully by some amazing people. The staff are awesome and Bazil the cat is the best tour guide. Haha! This has definitely been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life!

Fantastic venue for a special occasion. We rented the entire place for two nights for a 20th anniversary celebration, so our kids were also allowed. The owner / hosts were great. We also opted for a Murder Mystery Friday night dinner, which was a great success. Expect to step back a century to old world luxury.

A fantastic B&B experience, historic venue, clean, well presented, quiet and atmospheric. Sonia and Mark greeted us with a cheese platter and glass of champagne on the verandah where we spent many hours resting and enjoying the views of the distant mountains. We felt instantly welcome, relaxed and at ease. We wandered through the Abbey and its grounds, gaining an understanding of its history and soaking up the atmosphere at our leisure. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the stately dining room where the staff attended to our every need while giving us privacy. A perfect getaway from Brisbane during the Covid-19 restrictions, we will be back in the future and have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.

What a property! Definitely a labour of love and dedication to put so much into restoring so many of the original details. You can tell the current owners care 100% about their visitors experience, the history and stories for every single room is a great point of difference from other touristy places. We enjoyed a morning tour and delicious lunch. This location is a good fit for so many events, large or small! Plus the variety of events hosted throughout the year offers something for everyone.

Absolutely loved our stay there. A cheese platter and bottle of wine on arrival was a wonderful start to our stay. There is some amazing history of the place and even guided tours on offer.The room we stayed in was beautifully set with a king sized bed and original ball and claw bath tub as well to soak in after a day exploring around the area.The salmon dish that I had for dinner in their well appointed dining room was superb as well. A big thank you to our hosts and we certainly look forward to staying again.
