The place itself was very cozy, (I was sitting outsidethe waiters are all very nice and when I went to sit to the bar, I was amazed by the band that was playing, and the mood with the books is really amazing

Amazing music, fits each customer according to their style, amazing vibe and great service, very kind waiters and overall great vibe.

Before taking my flight back, I finish my holiday in Lebanon in this place. I liked it to drink a coffee latte while discovering books by Lebanese authors. Before leaving, I bought a great comic book from a Lebanese author, an excellent spot to find reading souvenirs. If I return to this place, I will also take my laptop to work from there. I see some people working from there, and I didnt find many in this area doing it. P.S: If you are a Radiohead fan, if I understand correctly, one of the staff members loves to play it in the background.

One of the best places to have a coffee and study in the afternoon and enjoy a drink in the evening. Staff are very friendly and food and cocktails are really amazing. They usually have a jazz band playing every friday evening. Highly recommended!

The staff are very friendly and the drinks are tasty. The food tastes amazing but the food service is slow. Prices are reasonable and the place is lit! Highly recommended.

A place full of foreigners. Not very calm, nor warm. Its ok for passing by with friends, but not a relaxing place for sitting.

Absolutely beautiful place and they weresuper nice as well so it hurts me to leave this one star but in 2022 I think having at least one plant based milk (soy/oat/etc milkto go with coffee is the minimum. I know lebanon is going through a rough time but a few other cafes in the street do offer it at the moment! Will definitely remove the review if they add it ☺️🙏🏽

Special place to spend cosy moments with old books and jazzy atmosphere

A very nice cafe/bar located in Gemmayzeh. A go-to place if you want some quick healthy bites, a drink, or a refreshing lemonade. The staff are some of the friendliest that I have ever met. Friendly ambience, nice music, and chill place. You can work from there as well. They have jam sessions (you can find more information about their events on their Instagram account). They have a library which is being renovated after the Beirut Blast.

Loved this place! I felt very welcome which is a huge thing for me while traveling. The staff was so very kind. It is a very comfortable place to hang out. The food is very good and I was really excited to try the artisanal Lebanese Gin they recommended. It was fantastic! This was truly one of my favorite finds in Beirut

This is a really nice cafe. I came here because they hold wine tastings every Thursday, at a really reasonable price and the tasting is led by Amy, who knows her wine. At the bar you can also buy wine by the glass, so you can taste a little different from what Lebanon can offer. So if you are into wine, I highly recommend Aaliyas Books

Liked the concept of this bookstore- coffeeshop. The flourless cake was amazing . The brownie was quite good . We had a minted lemonade and ginger tea for an afternoon treat. Its pet friendly place . Whats inacceptable is having the bartender play with the dog than go afterward go prepare drinks for customers without cleaning his hands , which makes me question the poor hygiene of this place ...

The food is pretty good, situated in an alley with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area could be better. The idea is amazing, you can sit and borrow a book from the library while having a coffee or grabbing a bite.

This place is strategically located in Gemmayzeh and fills a critical gap. It is a meeting point for many interested in books and more. It allows Lebanese to reconnect with reading and to have further cultural encounters. Something which was missing on the Beirut scene. Alias books offers new but also used books that you can buy for 5 or 7 dollars. It is a great café/restaurant to relax and read or simply work in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.

Nice place, peaceful with good energy. It’s quiet during the day and good for work. It picks up a bit at night when the candles are lit. There’s a decent book selection, which was to my surprise, new and used. Staff members are kind and not overly attentive. Also bottomless coffee during the day that’s reasonably priced.

Beautiful hangout place for book lovers and culinary experience seekers alike. Great settings, wonderful service and great food. Must try!

anyone who loved this place clearly had no idea about their customer service. its horrible! Its a "bookstore" but you cant read inside because of the "happy hour" crowd. They have no respect for books, neither their customers. Any waiter should be trained on how to solve problems to make the customer comfortable, instead of the complete rudeness of them there!

A very nice place for drinks, food, books and gatherings. They have a small chimney cause why not 🤩😎Perfect for a glass of wine...Their menu is handwritten which changes every 2 weeks. Food is good. They have also a big library with a cool selection.A nice place worth trying...

Love this place. Such a chilled vibe with so much offer. Come to chill and have a breakfast and coffee in the day time. Or come to drink cocktails in the evenings. Lots of cool events. Super friendly staff. Great for expats.

I go to Aaliya’s on Mondays for the Lindy Hop they host. The staff is very friendly and food and drinks are great. At other times it’s usually very calm and would be a great place to study/work or hang out with friends.

A lovely place to have a drink. A unique idea of having a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. Make sure you sit next to the chimney! Yep you read it right the chimney...staff is cool and very friendly. The menu is even handwritten. Has an indoor and outdoor place. A definite place to visit again.

Completely in love with the place! Cant wait to go back! Made me feel "home", probably as I live in Dublin, but will make anyone loving cosy atmosphere feel this way! Perfect for reading a book alone or having drinks/bites with friends; at any time of the day :)

Very nice ambiance, staff is friendly, youre surrounded by book, i went there on a winter night and ordered hot chocolate, it came watery and in your typical grandmas small cup, you literally finish it in few sips. I mean come on people, its hot chocolate not rocket science, put it in a real mug, add some water and make a real hot chocolate! it wouldnt cost much and it would add to the overall experience. only went once, but i guess ill come back to experience real items from their menu

Relaxing bookstore just off Gouraud street.The books vary in price and are on the more expensive side, but the wide selection is a pleasure for the eyes alone. The chairs are cozy and I like the atmosphere and the decor a lot. At times, they organise jazz nights with a live band! Not enough dancing but its a great find in this area, where live music is quite limited.Enjoy your time there to read or work. Also good for casual meetings.

Very nice coffee/pub place. The ambiance and place is fantastic. Occaisonaly bands will play jazz which fits the place very well. Recommended anytime of the day. One of the best place to sit, chill, enjoy a drink, coffee and even a nice meal which btw the food is also tasty. The people are very friendly. A place to visit weekly and never get bored.

One of the best locations in Beirut where you get to eat delicious food, read a book or work on your laptop. The music is soothing, the ambiance is perfect for a quiet productive day.What I like most about this place is that it’s dog friendly, so whenever you feel like going out and taking your dog with you, this is your number one destination.Add to that, everything on that breakfast menu is DELICIOUS!!

Good AC and books. I dont drink coffee but everyone seems to enjoyed theirs. I had lunch. My fried chicken was okay mayb some gravy on the side. Other than that good wifi and clean bathrooms. Staff smiley a plus.

I was in Beirut for a long weekend and saw this place out the window of my cab on the way back to my hotel. Liking the look of the place from the outside, I took a mental note to visit later that evening and Im so glad I did! It is not an easy task to get the cafe by day/bar by night atmosphere right, but this place hits the mark. Great vibe, nice music (thats not too loud), tasty food, good brews, and friendly staff. And they have comfy seating options and books for purchase. Whats not to love? I will definitely be back next time Im in Beirut!

I bet this is the best place to work, read or just chill. Wonderful interior. Book corner is so satisfying, couches are comfy, ambiance is amazing with great cheerful music.Free good WiFi is available also, and pets are allowed to come in.Prices are reasonable and waiters are extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly, and so is the owner.Try their french press coffee, its marvelous. And their granola breakfast is so yummy too.Aaliyas books recently became one of my fav spot in town.I Highly Recommend it.

Bring your laptop and your books. Pick a spot, settle and never leave. This pub Cafe library only gets better with their very tasty menu and great staff.

Awesome place. I love it because not only they allow my dog indoors, but they also pet her, and bring her free water! The drinks are reasonably priced. And they have a great selection of books that you can read or but for super cheap!

We went there in the morning with two kids and had a great time - yummy chocolate and snacks in combination with a corner for the kids where they could paint.Just something to change diapers would be nice.The interior is also nice with this open space and book shelfs. Lovely service.I recommend this place.
