Aajisai Sushi Restaurant - Japanese restaurant in Calcutta, India
Tried the veg sushi and gyoza for the first time. Loved both of them. From the presentation to the taste and flavours, everything was on spot and the wasabi and the soya sauce was like the icing on the cake.
Sussie is good but Ramen is not tasty . Service is good but we received wrong bill .They did not refund our money & gave us a small cheesecake but it was too small .
I went to have some ramen......it was good but it was very expensive regarding the fact that it wasnt the sufficient amount of food you expect from a 1500/- rupees bowl of ramen
A lovely japanese cuisine experience at Ajisai. We reserved a table before hand but walk-ins are also possible, I suppose. The food at Ajisai showed respect towards authentic japanese cuisine. There were set options starting from ₹1500 with six items, but we went for Ala-carte: two sushi platters, Ramen and Don. The conveyer belt was not turned on but when serving the sushi they turned it on. The ambience, on the contrary, could have been worked up a notch. Overall the experience at Ajisai was excellent. And dont forget to get some japanese sweets and candies on your way out from the counter. :-D
i went to aajisai today for lunch and ordered the chicken set worth rs 1700 from the menu . I simply hated the quality as well as the taste of each and every item. They served us some sushi which had a very salty and sour taste and it tastes absolutely horrible. Next came some chicken starter with sweet and sour teriyaki sauce which honestly speaking was better than the other dishes but still had room for improvement. The noodles had too much salt and the chicken main dish tastes very bad and raw and had a weird smell. Honestly, the ambience was also not appreciable. I think they should look into the quality of the food and try to prepare them with a milder taste.
Ambiance and food both were good moreover the Teppanyaki experience was excellent
This new addition to the list of speciality restaurants in kolkata is quite amazing in their Japanese food quality and service thru conveyor belt. Though quite expensive but its worth trying for food lovers. Prawn Tempura and Chicken Katsu Tozi Dom need special mention amongst many others.
Food and ambience were really good
Aajisai is pretty good, ingredients used in sushi are quite fresh, miso soup is flavorful, miso soup is a good starting point. Peach flavored Green tea acts as a great pallate cleanser...chicken katsu is a good way to venture into Japanese cuisine...a bit pricey, ambience is just ok, service professional....
Ambience and service was subpar. The food, okay. The only dish we enjoyed were the prawn tempura. Ramen lacked flavourSushi okayOverall not impressed.
When you have tasted sushi from overseas you def wouldn’t prefer this place much. Kolkata standard it’s good but extremely pricey. You don’t have to be super skilled to make sushi. 1000 buck for 8 sushi is surely over priced. The train is just an useless attraction. Service was all good. Ta!
1st experience are what leaves a mark on you forever, and what a fantastic 1st one. the best one that i found was the belgian pork with sticky rice. that was just amazing. then the ramen with pork was so good too. the pork was so well done and so delicious it just melted in your mouth. another dish that i would have in a heartbeat was the eel, i forgot its name, but what a dish offf... heavenly. i loved their chopsticks too so light and ergonomic, i wish i could take them with me 😅.
Great ambience, attentive service. Loved the Salmon Sushi. The tonkotsu ramen was great too. But one star less as the noodles were too soft and thin. Also, the chashu wasnt scalded on the surface. For a place charging this much, this bit of attention is a given.
The ambience and interiors are lovely with Japanese music playing mildly in background. Liked the dishes too especially tempura, but the ramen though looked amazing, felt a bit dull in taste than expected.
@aajisaikolkata is known for their Japanese cuisines. We tried Raw Salmon Sushi, Crab Sushi with fish eggs, Authentic Japanese Ramen, Japanese Mocktail. They recently launched their Thai delicacies as well, which is a sure hit too.The ambiance gives you a feel like you are eating in Japan 🇯🇵 and the food belt makes this place a must visit too.All the covid protocols were maintained throughout.📍 Location: 5th floor, Quest Mall, Syed Amir Ali Ave, Kolkata, West Bengal 700017Ratings: 5/5 ⭐️
Its a new experience for me to eat Japanese food or you can say raw fish.🤣🤣Its a new thing for me but I enjoyed it❤Yes, its a little bit costly restaurant but if you want to try some new cuisine then you have to spend a little money to get that joy otherwise its a good restaurant. The ambiance is great, good service. Now here comes what I order-I ordered a Spicy salmon rollSuzuki nigiriSpicy chess rollRamen & WineMy total bill was around 4360rs
The poor service quality of the restaurant stole an the attention. The food was good, I tried Japanese food for the first time and I liked it. Cant compare as its my first experience of Japanese food. But the mocktails were absolutely waste of money. Not only us, we saw all the other customers were complaining about their service quality. The space is short, not enough to accommodate many customers together and even smaller if their staff. We had to keep on waiting to order food as well as ask several times for water or other requirements. So wont recommend as their poor service is a total mood spoiler.
Reading great reviews had selected the restaurant for a pre birthday dinner for me and my son . We are absolute sushi lovers. Unfortunately the place absolutely did not meet my expectations. Utter disappointment.Had ordered 4 items. Since the first two items we ordered turned out to be great . We ordered 2 more items. And it turned out to be a total disaster.1. Chiken Teriyaki California Rolls was good.2. Buta Negima Yaki tori (Pork skewers- The meat was tender and succulent . It melts in your mouth. Must order.3. Yaki Kaisen Moriawase - The mixed sea food skewers were disgusting . It comprised of sea bass, tuna, salmon, prawn, scallops. The scallops were over cooked and rubbery . The tuna , salmon and sea bass was frozen and absolutely stale. Dont order that. I recommend the restaurant should take it off the menu .4. Cha - shu Ton kotsu - ramen in pork broth it was disgusting. Havent eaten this bad ramen ever . The egg served in the ramen was hard boiled.Coming to service i would rate it as average. We had to wait a long time for the ramen and sea food platter.Overall experience i would give will be a 3.
Food was delicious... Authentic japanese food must visit.
Very authentic Japanese restaurant. Here only Japanese foods are available & the taste is very good. However it will pinch the purse as most of the items are costly. However the money is worth spending, on special occasion. Liquors are also available.
The ambiance was wonderful the food quality was also good except the mojitos they were average. The customer service was good and food was also served fast.
So unhygienic! A big sized cockroach emerged from my plate of sashimi. And the staff did nothing about it. When we requested to get the food changed, they simply brought it back on a new plate. Made no effort to get rid of the cockroach, which was scrambling all over the table. This is unacceptable at such a reputable restaurant charging exorbitant amounts of money. This is especially unacceptable at a Sushi restaurant serving raw fish, which requires meeting a minimum standard of hygeine.
One of the few restaurants serving Japanese cuisine in the city. The place is sparkling new and is decorated very beautifully. The food is good, can’t say the best, but there are only a few places where you can get to have this cuisine. The best feature here is the Teppanyaki, where the chef will make a 6 course meal for you, LIVE, in front of you. That is an experience. The food is a bit expensive. They serve pork, beef, chicken, prawn, fish as Teppanyaki which ranges from 1700 till 2000 rupees.Ramen and Sushi rolls are also available. Ramen and Rice-bowls can cost you for around 800-900 rupees.Alcoholic drinks are also available. The Teppanyaki was very good, especially the soup and sautéed veggies. The beef was okay, and the ice cream was very delicious.Overall an experience worth a ₹₹₹₹, an expensive experience, maybe not for everyone, but it you are a foodie and you like Umami, this place is for you.
This was my first time trying sushi, and i loved it. We ordered spicy salmon and the prawn sushi. The salmon was definitely the highlight, the prawn was tasty too. The staff members were really polite and helpful, then even helped us out regarding what to order since we were so confused. The system of serving is pretty cool as well. I loved the experience.
We went there for the charsiu tonkotsu Ramen but it turned out to be such a disappointment. The broth tasted really bad and the pork was just all fat and didnt look and taste grilled at all. But the noodles were fresh and bouncy. The chicken nanbam was really tasty definitely get that. The strawberry chamomile martini was the best it was soo tasty. The baby squid with sweet and spicy Thai sauce was disgusting. It smelled really bad and tasted disgusting. The blueberry cheesecake was quite yummy. Definitely get that.
Its okayish types not so worth the hype... Its costly little bit and the food taste is good but not the best.... But I must say the stuffs are really nice and well behaved... Infact, they were really taking care of us and looking whether we need something or not....
Delicious food..Amazing service. Thanks Chef Aashif for curating our meal to perfection. Thanks Shweta, making us comfortable & serving. Do try Humbaku sauce preparations & Coconut ice-cream.
Loved the food here. Peaceful ambiance, wide range of sushi options for sushi lovers and great tasting food and polite staff. Only reason I deduced a * in rating is because of the time they take to provide the food. But I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves japanese food.
Taste was not good. Salt was low in the momo. The plates were not clean.
This place has been one of our best Sushi experience. Loved the food, very nice and lovely Sushi. We had done booking through Dineout and good Discount too
One of the best restaurant for Japanese cuisine. All the staffs are very cooperative they even explain the food in details.
One of the best japanese restaurant in Kolkata. Set menu and à la carte both the options are there. I personally prefer à la carte.
I had the following dishes:California roll and Spicy Tuna sushiChar Siu Pork RamenSalmon SashimiPrawn TempuraThe food was really good altogether and they were pretty quick with the meal. Not the best sushi I had in Kolkata but certainly good.
The Salmon sushi was really good. The ramen was not what I was expecting but it was good. Make sure to ask the waiter when ordering ramen coz even in though the chicken is halal they use pork stock for the ramen. So we ordered a veg ramen. My favourite was the Cheesecake. Good ambience and good staff. They also have live cooking service at the table available.
We ordered two dishes one was Okonomiyaki and the other one was Blueberry Cheesecake.Okonomiyaki had a crispy crust making every bite crunchy but its proportion was less and wasnt very satisfying and was different to what I saw on YouTube the Japanese version, the Indian one looked very different.Well for the Cheesecake it was delicious and the blueberries amplified the taste.
1. Modernized ambiance rather than traditional japanese restaurant looks.2. Boasts a sushi conveyer belt.3. Nice staffs. We ordered an "Veg Okonomiyaki" & "Blueberry Cheesecake".The okonomiyaki wasnt cooked in the traditional japanese way and taste wasnt upto the task. The sauce on top were good but overall okonomiyaki was disappointing.Blueberry Cheesecake was good but that price it didnt to justice I have tasted better cheesecake for way cheaper prices. The sushis from conveyer belt were very fun to see.
Aajisai is located inside Quest Mall,5th floor, just beside Serafina.Firstly, apologies I cant upload the video here, you can tune into my YT for a detailed review.Secondly,if youre a vegetarian please go through a few japanese dishes and their details before you visit it,so that its helpful since they do not have a very extensive menu for the veg people.Ambience : the ambience was really nice. Good place for going out with family. The interiors are actually very basic and subtle. Not much decorations.Food :We had ordered : Alaska sushi roll (non vegserved 4 pieces.⭐⭐⭐Yasai miso soup (veg: ⭐⭐⭐Cheese thin roll 6 pieces (sushi:⭐⭐Spicy salmon roll : ⭐⭐⭐⭐The presentation was amazing and the tastes also extremely different.Service : they were not very prompt but polite and were helpful. Assisted us in deciding what to order. It is an expensive place. Youll leave with a very different taste after you have tried it here.Overall, the place is nice and hygienic, food is not very over the top but anyway I wouldnt understand the difference since I have never had authentic japanese cuisine before.
A beautiful blend of the Far East right here in our own City of Joy! The ambience is par excellence, just as is the exquisite & palatable cuisine presented in the very elaborate collection in the menu.
Mouth-watering food items, authentic Japanese Teppanyaki experience, amazing ambience. Loved it. Highly recommended.
Really great, authentic Japanese restaurant in Kolkata. Sushis and Donburi among the best I’ve tried in the city. Also great ambience and service.
If you are willing to try out some authentic japanese food, head out to the Ajisai!Located on the top floor of Quest Mall, Park circus, Ajisai offers a eide range of japanese cuisine.I had never fried Japanese before but was always willing to and a friend recommended me Ajisai. The staffs were so nice, polite and helpful. I went there alone. There were other families and couples but I was given equal importance. To be honest, I didnot know about any of the dishes, so I asked a staff to suggest me some dish that would be best for me and she asked ms to try out the meal and I did the same- fried out the combo chicken set for Rs 1550 ( containing lemon coriander soup, 2 pc yakitori, 4pc veg california roll, chicken breast steak, yaki soba noodles/rice with egg and ice cream).Taste of every dish was unique and amazing. I just have no regret or complaints. Every dish is perfectly cooked with the proper blend of sauce and spices. I chose tender coconut flavoured ice cream. It tasted so different too! I cannot compare the tastes as this is my first japanese dish. The ambience is nice, with light music. The food is enough for 2 people. I had to pack some food as I couldnot complete them. The place is high priced. It cost me almost Rs 1750. But the price, I feel, is worth it.Definitely recommending this place ❤
Firstly let me tell you why I liked this restaurant:1Food quality was at per2Freshly cooked and served3Less rich food, very easy to digestIf youre Japanese Cuisine lover and you can spend Rs. 2500 at max for 2 people, then this place is a good to go.I am deducting one star because of the waiting time. It seemed forever. : (
Initial greeting was without a smile, grim faced lady ushered me in.Food was excellent. However, after I placed the order for an ice-cream dessert, I had to wait for 20mins but still was not served. Only when I reminded them did I get my ice-cream.
The place is good with nice ambience and staffs. The food is good too with quite a bit of variety and flavors. Sushis could be a tad bit better but nothing to complain about. Dumplings were excellent so was the tempura. Cheesecake could have been tad bigger in size. The cocktails especially the LIIT could be much better.
If you are at Quest and have an appetite for Japanese Cuisine, then go over to the 5th floor and walk into Aajisai. The place has a live kitchen attached to two of the tables where you can see chefs showcasing their culinary skills. They also have a rotating table in the center but they dont use it anymore to serve food.In picture : Sushi love boat.It had 4 x 3 = 12 sushis.Pro tip : If you are new to sushi and cannot have straight up raw fish, ask then to prepare a fusion dish with spices and sauce. That goes well with the Indian tastebuds.
Authentic Japanese restaurant at Quest Mall, Kolkata.Teppanyaki style widely available here along with A La Carte. The maki rolls, especially the Oshinko cheese roll and sweet potato roll were the best I tried there.Exciting concept of a conveyor belt serving food is available!
One of the best Japanese/Sushi Restaurant in town. Spend our anniversary lunch. Food was excellent. We were order variety of sushi selections and enjoy a lot. Fabulous drink menu, rock on the "margarita". Definitely recommend others and we will come back to sit down for teppanyaki.
This Japanese restaurant located on the 5th floor of Quest Mall at Park Circus is a treat for sushi lovers. Apart from sushi there are a host of other fabulous items on the menu including a set of teppanyaki menus which are a treat to watch. One more attraction is the sushi conveyor belt that delivers your food to your table, which is an unique novelty. The seating capacity is limited, so prior reservation is advised.
A Japanese fine dining restaurant with well presented food, impeccable service staff & snazzy interiors. We picked from the a la carte menu instead of the set meal. There werent enough choices in the sushi conveyor belt. We tried the California sushi rolls & the Spicy Cheese sushi. Good but have had better sushi in Yum Yum Cha, Delhi & Dahlia, Chennai. The Yaki Tori Moriawase, Prawn Teppanyaki in Yakiniku sauce and Ramen noodles was quite tasty and light. All the mojitos were refreshing and bursting with flavour. I loved my Matcha Coconut though it might be an acquired taste for some. Took a sip of the Blueberry mojito, which was sweet and tangy. Do give Aajisai a try, if you like Japanese food.
Went to aajisai for some sushi for lunch. Tried out the salmon nigiri and California rolls. Also some tempura sushi. The resto is innovative in its serving style. There is a sushi bar where they prepare the live sushi. The food is served to the table via the conveyor belts and automated food tracks. The sushi tried is good. The decor is nice. To experience some good japanese food this is a place to try.
