Amazing place to stop between Blantyre and the Lake. A cool, green, little slice of Mediterranean atmosphere. Great pasta, and a lovely little shop with textiles on the side.

The Art House Cafe and Shop is a hidden gem and one of a kind Italian restaurant in Balaka.The food is all Amazing, taste so good and delicious! Especially the eggplant pickles which am sure you will never find it at other restaurants.In the Art House Cafe, you will indulge yourself in an artistically delight ambience. Eating at this place makes you feel really like at home.Equally important, I also had a pleasure to get acquainted with Tamara - the owner of the restaurant. We discussed so many things about life, love and nature. I found her so friendly and I felt so well connected with her. I do hope someday I can visit this place again ❤️🎉P.S. She is currently undergoing some renovation at other spots at her house. I heard something magic will soon be there in couple months!

It is an oasis in Balaka, here you feel like in Europe. It is possible to eat Italian dishes but non only. The owner (and cookerAndrea and his staff are very friendly.

A great place to stop if youre in the area. Its a really nice pitstop if youre driving between Blantyre and the Lake/Lilongwe. Its only about a kilometer out of the way, but well worth it for the fresh pasta, tea and gelato. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
