Untere Donaulände 9, 4020 Linz, Austria, Linz
Set on the grassy banks of the Danube river, this upscale hotel in a striking modern building overlooking Pöstlingberg is a 6-minute walk from LENTOS Kunstmuseum Linz.Featuring city or river views, the bright, casual rooms come with minibars, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Suites add marble bathrooms, DVD players and living areas, while upgraded suites feature themed decor, coffee machines and rainfall showerheads. Room service is available. There's an elegant restaurant, a polished bar/cafe and a terrace with river views, as well as a spa area with a sauna and a steam room.
Not so bad but for sure your need to refresh at least your rooms, they are so old and not as they have to be for a great Hotel as this
Nice hotel at the river bank. Clean room, easy parking and friendly staff. I recommend to take the breakfast with wide variety of foods.
The room I stayed had beautiful view of the Danube river. Although rooms are smaller, my overall experience was very good.
Even though the location and views were very good, as well as the breakfast, in my opinion the hotel does not deserve the 4 stars. The rooms are quite small, but the main problem was that it was really noisy (we could hear the noise from the elevator going up and down, specially during the night). Also, I found some details really annoying, like holes in the curtains that are supposed to keep the light from entering. The beds were comfortable, but we didnt sleep much precisely because of the noise. Also, the bar is open at a very short times, so theres no way to have some food in the hotel in the afternoon/evening during the weekend, which might be a bit inconvenient.Overall, I think this place is way too expensive for what you get in return
Money got lost from my friends room as soon as she went to breakfast
Although the hotel is located in very nice area and room are specious, HOWEVER it is the last hotel I would recommend for any!!So what happened is that we were group of 11 staying in 6 rooms… just after checkout, we noted that 500 euros are missing… we asked the management to check the surveillance cameras, to our surprise they refused to cooperate as if nothing happened… what a shame!!
All was well until 500 euros were stolen from a guests purse. The staffs response was very poor and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They did not even try to find out who did it. My advice would be to stay away from this place. If you do come, make sure to keep your valuables close to you at all times.
Arcotel has good access to the river. Therooms are generally comfortable. However, unfortunately a member of our group reported that €500 were taken from her purse in the room. When she reported this to the staff they were not cooperative and did not help with questioning the personnel who enteredthe room.
A very very poor and unsafe Hotel!! 👎 👎I would not recommend this hotel. One of our group had 500 Euros stolen from her purse and the staff were unhelpful and no cooperating at all!! 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎
Not a safe place, our friends lost money from inside the room and the staff was very unhelpful.
Very nice hotel, nice river-view.
Hotel does not deserve 4(??stars. Stayed at inn locations, beat ARCOTEL by miles
A fantastic place in Linz; our trip there was memorable from start to finish, and the hotel was a massive factor. The room was quiet, clean and nice if not a little small. Breakfast was good with a nice choice of all the items you would expect. The staff were very friendly and relentlessly accommodating throughout our stay. We will definitely return.
They don‘t have a proper hotel bar after 11 pm. Never seen anything like that around the world. Way too expensive for that.
We had some trouble with our reservation since we want to add our daughter for 2 nights but I wish to thank Elena at the reception for helping us to solve the issue. Thanks for her high professional skills and kindness
(Visit February 2018)Very comfy and relaxing vibe, great dinning options and beautiful views!Absolutely loved the views from room and lobby restaurant!Smaller rooms but to be expected, no problems at all.Trying the different restaurants is a must within hotel or lobby bar had great conversation. Drinks are spot on and service was always excellent!Great Stay overall.Pictures also show a bit of sight seeing close to hotel.
Very good hotel. Delicious dinners. Nice view on the river.
Good Hotel. The Breakfast is a bit clumsy, but you get food in the end... the room is nice with a nice view and you can be undisturbed. Right by the river.
Hotel well situated near the city centre, in a park near the Donau. Easy access by car but parking not free! Friendly staff. Old style but nice terrace outside the restaurant / bar
Very nice and clean hotel on the river bank with great view. Excelent breakfast with variety of fresh dishes.
Service was nice and rooms were clean but quite small. The view on the upper floors is amazing. Has a Spa and a Casino in the basement.
Really nice hotel, clean, pretty and near the center also if you book the right room you get a stunning view
Nice, clean and modern rustic decor rooms. It has a clean super stainless steel fixture (not everyone cup of tea). But nonetheless very excellent hotel with top of the class service and amazing breakfast. Little far from Central station by walk but manageable. We had the suite, but the other rooms should also be up to mark.Overall a definite recommendation for anyone traveling to this part of Austria.
Located further from the city center but on the other hand just by the river bank. You could have a beautiful view on the river in the morning. Tasty breakfast. Quite comfortable rooms.
Great location, modern and recently updated lobby, ok rooms. A bit on the pricey side, the main highlight of this place is its location and sumptuous breakfast. I have been staying here since many years and was finally relieved to see them update their lobby and I hope the rooms are next, especially the beds which are on the harder side even considering the European norm of not have comfortable beds in hotels.
the worst hotel i have ever been in.the rooms are dirty and filled with spiders and other unknown insects and really bad smells. and the managers are careless and not understanding the situation as if its not an issue but it extremely is.
Sloppy receptionist: Issued a keycard for one room though we had booked two, and after specifically asking for a keycard for the other room we got one which wasnt even configured (and so obviously didnt work at all). Rooms were clean and modern, though a little on the small side. Breakfast buffet was awesome with a wide variety of fresh products!
Actually quite good hotel. But, frankly speaking, my personal opinion that the price is little bit higher that it should be. Grate location, near you can a places to sign seeing, restorants, shopping, and overall nature panorama.
Fish was raw, warm Apfelstrudel was stone cold. Charged us 9,- for parking while parking would have been free just outside their spot. Restrooms in the basement need a makeover urgently.
Went for a candlelight dinner there. Service was good and funny, food was good/very good. Only too much, especially the desert. Too much went back to the kitchen.
Its a nice hotel in a great location with lovely staff but would not advice staying here if a business traveler. Had a river facing room on a mid week night with a party boat parked up outside banging out music and people shouting until late. Got no sleep and had to get up early. Until the hotel sorts this out, unless you like sleeping next to a nightclub dont bother.
Friendly staff, we just had some drinks so cant comment on their food. Atmosphere was good and the view on the Donau was nice. All in all a good experience.
Functional and reasonably pleasant. Rooms are small. Ours had a wonderful view over the danube. Waiters slow... Very slow. Breakfast is probably fine but there was such a crush we just got the basics and left.
The "Superior" floors are on par for the better European hotels. While it is nothing spectacular and definitely not an American hotel, the stay has been pleasant. Positives include the cleanliness and the included breakfast buffet. Negatives include the lack of air conditioning and the bed being somewhat uncomfortable (hardish and old-school coils). The positives so far greatly outweigh the negatives!
Sweating in style next to the Danube river...Solid choice for a business or leisure stay in Linz, but doesn’t feel quite like a 4* hotel. Great location on the banks of the Danube river (views!close to major museums and the old town. Reasonably stylish and clean rooms. Plentiful breakfast buffet. On the downside: no AC in the rooms. Water temperature in my shower suddenly went from warm to extremely hot and back to warm on multiple occasions. No coffee making facilities or irons in standard rooms. Staff, though generally friendly, could use some training: experienced bar staff commandeered younger employees in a harsh, condescending tone in front of customers. Receptionist didn’t ask about my stay during check-out. A final word of caution: the room service surcharge is EUR6.90, even for a cheese toast! Also if said cheese toast takes 45 minutes to arrive on a busy day.Despite these drawbacks, I might return to the Arcotel Nike for the views and location.
Very nice hotel right next to the Brucknerhaus. Cheap but nice clean rooms with views of the Danube. Good food and drink, great breakfast.
Quite, comfortable place. Rooms are adequate. Neat bathroom. Just behind Danube adds the attraction to this place. Nearest super market is 600 meters away.
Friendly, clean modern hotel. Stayed here on our Danube River Trail bicycle vacation. We upgraded to a higher floor for 10 euros more per night. Great breakfast. Nice location.
+ good breakfast;+ friendly Hotel team;+ comfortable location;+ big sport area around (running, swimming, football, skate park, workout park and etc.);- air conditioning didnt work
I was in Linz for meetings during a heat wave in early June 2017. The air conditioning was broken, and my room was unbearable. I had to sleep with the window wide open and was provided a very small fan and allowed to drink the expensive EU5.90 bottle of water for free. It was terribly uncomfortable. Breakfast was very crowded with a small room for what was a packed hotel. It was confusing and the wait, when one had to be somewhere on time, for something as simple as coffee was really aggravating. I had a Superior room, which was very small and had barely enough room to set up an ironing board near a plug. I had been in this hotel 7 years previously, and nothing had changed about the decor. There was no tea or coffee service in the room, another annoyance when breakfast was so crowded. We had one meeting in the hotel, and it was really hot and stuffy within minutes. I was at the hotel for a week, and the promise that repairs were going to happen was never kept during that time. The location is great--right on the Danube and easy access to walking the river trail. Also not far from the main shopping areas and easy tram access or inexpensive cab fare to the train station. The staff was really as helpful as they could be with the air conditioning situation, really trying hard to provide other services efficiently. I left my power cord in my room for a meeting at voestalpine, and they sent it over by cab within an hour. They let me check out as late as possible, even though they were fully booked that afternoon. They brought me room service and didnt charge the exhorbitant EU6.00 delivery fee to bring it up the elevator!Even though I realize the aircon part was a temporary, unfortunate situation, the hotel could really use a retrofit to bring it up to date with bigger chains. If I ever have to be in Linz again, I am definitely going to look elsewhere for accommodations.
Lack of adequate air conditioning made the room uncomfortably hot. The desk fan provided did little to help sleeping through a warm night. Also a room alarm clock would be nice.Otherwise location and views are very nice, and breakfast excellent.
The arcotel was placed in prime location and really had the benefit on Riverside views and free concerts along the water. The hotel itself felt really dated and the rooms were very simple, for a business traveler theres always an issue with slow wifi. Overall a nice hotel and polite staff, but I think there are better hotels in the area for the same price point.
Standard rooms. The view on the danube is nice. Heating pipes were giving a permanent noise in my room even i turned the heating off but did not hear it after a while.
Good spot along the river, decent restaurant with a nice veranda on sunny days. The rooms are not too bad, the normal rooms lack a chair and having the mini bar up on the wall makes the room seem unfriendly somehow. The shower room and bed are all comfy though.Have stayed a few times now and the service is usually very good.
Nice cozy hotel with an amazing view and location, close to 4 main tram stations and not so far away from the main central station. Perfect location for culture travel, museums and even sports, since it is right next to the Danube and there you can jog, jump, take the ferry or just enjoy the view. The room service is nice, a little bit expensive but all room services are.
Nice hotel, clean rooms. We had breakfast and lunch, it was really good! Its a nice place to stay at in Linz. Can recommend it.
Very good hotel, nice view from your room and from the breakfast/dinner room, close to the city center. When crowded some things can go wrong with the breakfast buffet (sometimes things run out and arent replenished fast enough - seems they lack someone to keep an eye if all goes well).Personally I would have liked the viennoiserie more fresh - Im pretty sure it was not baked that same morning...
Very friendly staff, great service, very clean. The views from the sixth floor had been fantastic. The only negative point: The temperature in the restaurant and the room was a bit chilly.
Even though the hotel is nice and employees at the reception very helpful, the service in restaurant is very slow, not asking guests if they want something else once their glass is empty. We needed to remind them to bring us drinks/meals which they forgot and even after a second reminder we did not get it. Very bad experience during our dinner as well as breakfest.
Friendly staff, well sized rooms with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet in the restaurant is a bit pricy (€ 20,00 per person), but get a small breakfast in the cafe at a far better price (€ 7,00 or so).Something I found on line: the code nike15 will give you 15% off certain rooms if you book through their website :)
