Seidenhofstrasse 5, 6002 Luzern, Switzerland, Luzern
Offering views of the Alps, this upscale, contemporary hotel is a 3-minute walk from both Luzern train station and the 14th-century Kapellbrücke bridge.Modern rooms with vivid accents feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Upgraded rooms add varying amenities, such as coffeemakers, minibars and balconies with views of the mountains.A breakfast buffet is complimentary. There's a stylish Italian restaurant and a swanky bar, as well as a wood-paneled, rustic-chic dining area. Pets are welcome for a fee.
Staff needs training on customer service. Overall the experience was that it’s a very stingy hotel with rude workers. Front desk manager Fernandez was equally unapologetic and stuck up.Don’t plan on returning to this hotel ever.
Not a 4 star hotel in any way, high reviews must be for location. Not clean, WiFi and AC did not work. Reception did not do anything to fix the situation. Other hotels in vicinity looked much nicer.
Terrible customer service, washrooms are tiny.Paid for and booked a double room, was not provided that room.Lots of noise from adjacent night club from 9 pm onwards.Hotel staff was rude and did not care to offer a solution as well.Overall the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had - would recommend finding somewhere else to stay.
Great location, rooms were nice.
The Hotel location is its best and worst quality. It is next to a Night Club which is open from 23h - 9h Friday and Saturday. We stayed on the first floor and the music woke kept us up most of the morning. Otherwise the hotel is fantastic, modern rooms, clean, nice staff, knowledgeable. We would stay again, but woukd ask for a top floor or avoid the weekend.
One of the worst hotels in Europe , it’s a cattle hotel this is where the tour company’s dump there people! One of the worst breakfast buffets very crowded coffee maker not working and cold food. Very small rooms . Lobby is so crowded at times when a tour bus shows up! No room in elevators. Avoid if you can! One more thing most Europe hotels have gotten rid of the very uncomfortable square toilet seat toilets not this hotel!
Everything you would expect from a hotel. The breakfast is fantastic. The location is perfect.
The room were clean, the staff was nice and the breakfast was excellent.
Third time I try to make a reservation with a voucher. Uneducated clerk with little interest in doing his job.
The room we stayed in had some wall damage (black scratch marks, presumably from luggage), and the bathroom was a little worn out. Thats it; everything else was amazing. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly, breakfast was good and it is right next to both the tourist destinations and the train station to get to Lucerne. Absolutely worth it.
We had a decent stay at the hotel. The location is simply fantastic. Its a 5-min walk from the train station and 2-min walk to Chapel Bridge. With Chapel Bridge as the main landmark, navigating yourself back to the hotel was effortless.Do try to book directly with them. You get a discount voucher by simply signing up as their member.
The location (near train station and townis superb! Hotel staff is exceedingly nice and helpful, and the room is clean and well appointed. Small balcony overlooks side street with views of Pilatus to the left and bridge to the right. Bed super comfy and nice to have coffee and mini bar (all contents no charge). Did not buy the breakfast, but it looks amazing when walking past.
Located just a short walk away from the train station. The room was small and basic but really clean and comfortable. We had a restful stay there in late July 2022.
Booked this 4 star hotel for my honeymoon however the overall experience feels like a 3 star hotel.Having a dirty bathroom is one of my pet peeves it just feels so disgusting and unhygienic especially for a 4 star hotel.Pros:Very close to the stationA very modern reception areaCons:Aircons that function as a white noise machine and not an airconBathroom that feel not clean with clear indication of mould (pictures attached)Room quite small making it hard to open check in size luggagesStaff who say they would bring your bags up to your room not doing it (potential language barrier ?)
My rating is only for warm days .. AC is 👎 and when I call the receptionist he gave me a fan !! ..Nevertheless, the hotel location is great 👍, clean 👍.. ((((((( one of the staff named Jasicca did her best to solve the issue and gave us a free upgrade.. big thanks to her 👍 .. ))))))
Excellent location, friendly and courteous reception staff and housekeeping… going out if the way … we opted for not cleaning room as we were there for only a day and half but the housekeeping still did minimal cleaning of bathroom etc. The location is perfect and walking distance from both the station as well as sights and restaurants and lake … 👏
I wasn’t able to check in the hotel at 3pm. 2 staff have confirmed the check in time. I was told by third staff that I need to wait another 40 minutes to check in. I had really late check in at nearly 4pm. Am not very happy with the customer service, was told differently by each staff.
By far the best service i have experienced at any hotel,Special creds to Sarah for being the perfect host, but it goes for everyone there. Thanks guys! See you again soon.
The most inhospitable staff and service. They don’t care about the customer at all and forget about providing decent service to them. The staff is unexceptionally rude and unethical. The most horrible service I have ever received on my any travels to date
Had a nice stay at The AMERON hotel during our short time in Luzern. The location is amazing, close to the train station and the heart of the city. We found it really easy to walk or catch a bus around town (not to mention that the hotel provides free bus passes). The room itself was pretty standard, but who can argue with free mini fridge items! The staff was also really wonderful and friendly. This is a great option for your stay in Luzern.
Staff very polite, professional and helpful, comfortable rooms, great location
If I had to sum up our stay in one word: crummy. If you book enough in advance there are better hotels for the same price point in Lucerne. Wish that’s what I had done!Mainly, I wouldn’t recommend staying here given the price to value ratio. Keep in mind we stayed here in July which I assume is peak season, we paid 360 CHF per night when all was said and done (including fees and the cost for our dog). But, our experience could have been improved with better communication and customer service.Because we booked directly through the hotel website, we supposedly got the perk of an upgraded room (upon availability). However, when we asked about this we were told we needed to ask in advance to have, but then we were told it didn’t matter because nothing was available anyway. So that’s where better communication could have avoided the disappointment. Also, in the special requests section of the booking I asked specifically for a room with a single queen sized mattress, not two mattresses side by side and I asked for a room with a nice view if possible. This was also disappointing as the room we got had two mattresses side by side and a dingy view at best. When I asked the front desk about this, again, I was told I had booked he wrong type of room (even though this information was not available on the website). So this experience was also unnecessarily frustrating. Why bother writing your special requests if they will be ignored? The woman at the front desk offered to get a “mattress pad” put on the bed so we would feel the crack less, but when housekeeping arrived they told us we already had one so putting two would probably not be good. The “mattress pad” was nothing more than a mattress protector which did nothing to make the bed more comfortable.AND the single mattresses were not even good. They were noticeably sunken in the middle. They were passable, but then you think what are we paying top dollar for?Oh and as a little “bonus” as we were leaving the room (checking under the bed etc.to make sure we hadn’t forgotten anything we found someone else’s lingerie! Ew! Maybe housekeeping is understaffed/overworked?I think this hotel’s high rating must lean heavily on location and appearance, which are good.
Its been too long now since we were there, but I can say that that our stay was a joy. Best wishes..
Overall we were content with our stay but it could have been better. The room was nice and a good size. Nothing broken or dirty; however, the showerhead couldnt be used without getting water everywhere since it wouldnt point down. The a/c was also super weak and made it a bit warm innthe room for sleeping. Service could alao be improved. Twice I had to call down to reception 2x to get service. The first time we waited for 15 minutes for an iron and I gave up and called again and finally they brought it. The second time, we knocked over a full bottle of water and the glass and water went everywhere. Again, waited more than 15 minutes and they didnt come so I had to call again. 5 minutes after that call we just gave up on them coming and left. When we got back, it had been cleaned but they opened the window, which turns the a/c off. We had intentionally left it on so it would be cooler when we came back for sleeping. Those arent major things but they are annoying and could have been completely avoided with more attention from the front desk.
The AC wasn’t working see what they have given. .. A Table Fan. Crazy. Accessible Hotel with zero hospitality
Great location, clean rooms, very good breakfast. Did not care for the shower head, everything else is good.
Good location, friendly staff, room was nice, and breakfast was good. They even replaced what I drank in my mini fridge which I didnt expect.
Just five minutes away from train station and the chapel bridge. However, had an issue with our key cards, else a great hotel. Rooms were quite cosy - smaller than some other hotels, yet the staff was very helpful and polite. The youngsters were doing a great job at the reception. Also the place had a lovely cafe with one of the best tomato soup served.Excellent location too.
The hotel was very nice, with a modern lobby and excellent staff. My room was very small, with some awkwardly-placed walls and cabinets that meant I had to take care not to hit my head or stub my toe.But other than that, the hotel was really well-located (walking distance from the train station, from the lakefront, from some nice bars and restaurants. The hotel restaurant was quite good, too, especially the pinsas (Roman-style pizza).Next time, Id be curious if they offer rooms with a lake view, as that would be ideal.
Really good place to stay , close to so many good restaurants and shops . Clean rooms and restrooms . Lovely staff. The breakfast selection is not great isn’t worth 25 pp.
Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the train station. Gorgeous hotel, great breakfasts. Beautiful city.
This was a great hotel. The location was about a half block from Chapel Bridge and about 2 blocks from the train station. Super easy for getting around Lucerne and finding your way back. The room was clean, quiet and well appointed. The restaurant was delicious. We had dinner there the first night and breakfast twice. The staff was super helpful with answering all our tourist questions about where to eat, train questions, etc. The woman who checked us in gave us a fantastic suggestion for a fondue restaurant that was out of this world. If we come back to Lucerne we will definitely stay here again.
Only location, nothing else, poor Courtsey, room not ready by 3pm, room smaller than mentioned, poor lighting in. Room and dim light in bathroom, no tea bags only coffee, only plain omelette on special request with extra charge for vegetables therein, mentioning by staff for extra charge for every single thing.... About 400 euro per night only for location, not worth at any parameter, no correction or relief even after discussing with front office manager, very painful experience, surprisingly how hotel managing such deceptive good reviews 👎
My husband and I had an excellent stay. The hotel is clean, modern, organized. Excellent breakfast, lots of options. We were in Lucerne on warm days and the air conditioning in the room was excellent too. Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the train station and the main tourist attractions.
Great atmosphere, staff went above and beyond for our 30th anniversary, Especially Sara, thank you for a memorable experience. Literally rock throwing distance from the chaplet bridge, room is comfortable with quality amenities.
Very good location, close to the train station, the waterfront and the wooden bridge. Our room didnt had a view, but thats fine, given how close the hotel was to sightseeing spots.Special mention to some details. We were traveling with our 4 yr old son. We got some complementary drinks on the minibar/mini fridge. Some beer, soda, wine and fruit juice. And besides the glassware there was a plastic cup for my son. And in the bathroom sink, there was a step/stool so he could wash his hand comfortably.First time I feel that my son is more than a "+1" for a hotel
This hotel was just fantastic with an ideal location. Very efficient check-in. The room was cleaned everyday and all toiletries, tea and coffee restocked regularly. Staff were all very friendly and more than happy to help with just about anything. Also, thank you to the unsung heroes who clean and cook. They made our stay one to remember and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Loved our stay here.Rooms: comfortableBreakfast: very high qualityLocation: excellent, very close to the Chapel Bridge. Lot of restaurants and bars nearby.Parking: was a little tight because we had a very large car.People at the Reception were very kind and friendly in giving good tourist and restaurant recommendations.Would definitely stay here again. Lucerne is a beautiful city.
Comfortable spacious within walking distance from the main station. Accessible to everything you need and near the chapel bridge and old town. Staff were great!
Good hotel. But if compared with Asian hotels. Then its nothing. However, in contrast to Europe it is good option.Very close to train station and Luzern lake.Breakfast is also good.
We only stayed for one night but wished we could have extended our stay and hope to be back soon! The hotel is lovely. It’s right in the center of town - so close to the train - but it was very quiet at night when we went to bed (on a Friday night during carnaval!). The shower pressure was legit and the bed was comfy. We opted for a room with a balcony and view - so worth it to be able to see the mountains! The staff were super nice and accommodating - we left our bags with them after check out so we could go to carnaval for a few hours before we left town. The breakfast had everything we wanted and more (several kinds of eggs and honeycomb my husband raved over plus lots of other options).
The location couldnt be better. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Very clean and quiet hotel. Breakfast was wonderful. Great stay and the town is gorgeous.
This was my second time visiting Lucerne and this time it was a longer stay. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the train station and a few steps away from the Chapel Bridge. Upon our arrival, the receptionist informed us that we could check in 3 hours earlier; that really did help after a 4 hr train ride from Innsbruck. The place is in close proximity to different shops, a frequented chestnut stand, Coop and much more. — My reasoning behind a 4 start review is because the room was sooo small that you could even barely fit 2 widely opened medium sized luggage on the floor; we had to rearrange furniture . Also, the toilet water had a muddy color to it despite the few times that we had to flush it to make the water clear again- we should have let them know asap. But, it was no big deal. Customer service was great, nevertheless.
I stayed at 7 different hotels during my time in Switzerland and this hotel was the most disappointing. The service was unwelcoming and blamed COVID regulations on their disappointing service. All other hotels I stayed at also had those same requirements and could still give great and welcoming service. Five stars for their stellar breakfast buffet and lovely rooms.
The Hotel as such as ok. However the service team in the restaurant was not. Not only impolite, but also not willing to serve us drinks after we finished dinner. One would think, that after the many difficulties the pandemic has brought, theyd be thrilled to jave paying customers back. Pity.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ameron. Its location cant be beat - very central to all things within Lucerne, beautiful short walk to the Chapel bridge and old town. The staff was incredibly warm and helpful, even had our room prepared early when we arrived at noon. The included soft drinks in the minibar were a great added bonus. Would recommend to any friends and family visiting the region. Rooms were a bit dated, but still plenty comfortable.
I am very surprise. How this hotel has 4 stars, the only thing good about is the location. The rooms are very small, take a look on the pictures. The cleaning crew dont care at all. We stayed couple nights, they never clean the bar top, or add sugar, tea or coffee pods in the bedroom. The Breakfast is 20 francs per person. They just put to twin beds together and by the middle of the night was a massive gap in the bed.We are very disappointed, specially in time of covid.
Far exceeded expectations! Definitely book here. Super central location 4 min walk from train station , 1 min walk to old town and the famous covered bridges. You can even see it from your window!parking is in same building and validated at front desk every morning you leave for 26chf a day, the rooms are so clean. You get free water and the mini bar was even free( we didn’t find this out until the last night of 6 nights so we missed out). Make sure to ask them if mini bar (cokes, juice, beer is extra charge. Apparently it’s included in most but not all rooms.Hotel is non smoking and offers breakfast for 20chf per person, but there are so many other places to grab a quick breakfast that we skipped it.They offer a discount for skipping housekeeping so make sure to ask for this. They were super friendly and even brought us free sparkling water every day even without housekeeping.Beauty products and sanitiser are even nice and smell organic. They loaned us an adapter because our European ones didn’t work. The only problem is the fact no one told us the mini bar was included so we felt we missed out and as really paid for the exact drinks at outside locations to put in the fridge so we wasted money. Also, the shower handle. I prefer to leave it in the holder and use it hands free but with here it doesn’t bend and shoots straight out and making a mess. Easy fix with using lowest water pressure. This was the best price in town and honestly it was a 4 star hotel for a 3 star price with their buy 2 nights get 1 free.
Location of the hotel is just perfect. The famous Kapellbrücke is just few steps away. The hotel is also close to everything, as it is right at the center of Luzern. Check-in went smoothly. The staffs were friendly and very welcoming. The hotel itself was very clean, modern and very trendy. Our room (Deluxe roomwas spacious and quiet. There is a parking right next to the hotel. If you plan to park overnight, better buy a parking ticket at the reception, its cheaper. Overall, we had a nice stay here and would come back again when we visit Luzern next time.
I didnt even make it to the hotel. This review is for the extremely rude, likely unstable, hotel member who answered the phone when I tried to cancel my stay due to the Swiss border being closed to US tourists due to COVID. I called to cancel within a week of making the reservation when I realized this issue. The trip was not for another month. The rude woman said "no, you should have investigated this issue before you made a reservation". When I tried to explain, she got angry! I was so polite and respectful. I had no choice but to hang up while she was losing her mind. The other 3 hotels I booked for my trip allowed me to cancel with no problem and were very pleasant. Even the Swiss government refunded my half fare train pass. Look at the other 1 and 2 star reviews. Rudeness and inflexibility seem to be business as usual at this hotel. So many other lovely hotel with lovely people to support. Why give this place business?
