AKI BAY TVR Japanese Restaurant - Japanese restaurant in Chennai, India
The food was delicious, but since we dnt get to eat at Aki Bay but at Velveteen, dnt get the Japanese atmosphere! Was a real disappointment.
A good place to have authentic ramen
Completely renovated. Looks Amazing. Great food and fantastic service
Superb!! Nice food and good ambiance. Highly recommended.
I just searched Japanese restaurant in Google search to try Wagyu beef whether it is available in Chennai or not..But still now I didnt visited the restaurant..May be in future I will go to this restaurant and share my experiences about the restaurant..count down starts
Autantic japanese food and great service
Best Japanese restaurant in chennai ... Must try ramen noodles here.. Naruto fans will love this ramen noodles guys ....
Very authentic Japanese restaurant!! The ramen was great, as was the salmon sashimi. The sushi here is fresh!
Akibay restaurant is the best ever ramen noodles I have and the soups was amazing, and among the soups Tori Paitan is the best reman for me. And the waiters are also kind to us n give us smile and free to us tooI appreciate Akibay restaurant everything for they have treated us very well.
Authentic Japanese restaurant. The ambience is as close to japan you can get here in Chennai. The staff are friendly and food is great.
Its a restaurant in the basement. But once you get in, you will get the feel of a Japanese restaurant you can see in movies. Liked the ambience & food.
Its the very famous ramen in chennai as some sushi, donburi etc...
Small and cozy place for a Good Ramen
Its Ok-Ok place. Its not a theme restaurant. Restaurant exist in basement so there is cell phone network issue. Calm and authentic Japanese restaurant. Not much crowdy and little expensive with general dishes. Just two Ramen and one add-on side dish cost us 1550/- INR.Go there for authentic Japanese flavour dont expect indian masala flavours it it.Many foreigners and Japanese peoples we saw while we enjoying there except only we as a indian 😋.Give it a try if you want to explore different taste of world.
The food and servis was very good, however they serve 6 mini sushis for 380inr, thats a bit too much...
Amazing Japanese food for first timer like me. Just reduce one star for no wifi and no cell signal :( hope it will improve :)
Awesome Japanese food. Great ambience and super friendly staff. Must go
I enjoy very much the food was awesome
Good Japanese food. Helpful staff. A bit pricy.
Loved the food and taste. Yagi daiko is a must try. Two ramens + a starter would cost around 1600Rs.
Fantastic food. Was perfect for a rainy day lunch. Ramen, goya and beer. Panacotta for dessert. 😍
Authentic Japanese restaurant . A little cosy place yet a must try restraunt. Ramens here are top notch and you shouldnt miss it. If you are a beef lover you should try wayugu(Rs.999). I think mostly all the things contain a common stuff chicken broth. Order a soup if you like it continue . Then there is no use in ordering other dishes. The dishes will take some time to get prepared. So dont go if you are hungry too much. Alcohols are also served on request
One soup 1000rs ....taste is real Japan....
We came in the middle of week at day time and were ALONE in the restaurant. Staff is very friendly but they almost didnt understand english. Order prepared very slow. I couldnt get why they put wasabi inside simple sushi rolls despite Ive asked not to do spicy. Why there was no marinated ginger. Why coffee was like it is instant nescafe. And other small things that make us dissapointed. In such cases you started to thing why I have to pay so much. If we knew we could go to Hokkaido nearby.
I recently booked a table here for my sisters birthday and I was quite disappointed that they had run out of some of their better dishes despite my pre booking. The food took almost 2 hours and still all my guests were hungry because they didnt bring half the dishes we ordered and later informed us they were not available. The food is decent but I wouldnt go back only because the service is extremely frustrating because they cannot communicate with English speaking customers. Also I have noticed that they give preference to their Japanese customers. The owners was around but did not even get up from his own dining table to sort things out or help with the situation. Extremely disappointed that my dinner was ruined as a result.
This is authentic Japanese restaurant. They have the best ramen around Chennai. Also, chicken karagge is something to try.
Nice, calm atomosphere. Good fresh food from the fish market of the same morning.
The interior felt like I was in Japan! As an Otaku, you have my word that all the dishes look like they came right out of an anime! 🔥 Cant be in Japan but I can eat authentic Japanese cooking! Arigato Gozaimasu❤️
Its really neat n clean and the food is also delicious.....I would like to come n hve Akibay ramen once again
Authentic Japanese cuisine, served by Japanese, made by Japanese in a Japanese style seating which is comfortable once seated.A must go atleast once. If one develops a taste for Japanese, nothing like it. The entrance only, is a setback but if one overlooks that, you discover a nice little cubicle, you can go to ,once in a while .
Great Japanese food! bit expensive!
4/5 because there is no parking here. Food, ambience, as Japanese as it could be!
So been to this cute little Japanese restaurant in Mylapore,Chennai named Aki Bay ,run by Hatsuno San ,honestly speaking I dont like fish so couldnt eat the raw sashimi & sushi as my friend anwesh could ,he just loved it to the core ,I on the other hand loved the Gyouza & then the chicken skewers , Miso & Chintan ,though like me most would think Miso to be similar to a normal soup but then again each one has their own judgement so try it ,atleast once ,Now regarding the hospitality..... They were just awesome Mr. Hatsuno was just so sweet & polite ,even though I shared much less words with him (cant speak Japanese 😅my friend anwesh(has literature degree in Japaneserelayed whatever I felt to him & he was happy to hear the compliments .Atlast my verdict: if u are a fish lover surely do visit here anyhow or an anime or Japanese fan like me visit there & try the things ,Im sure u will like it 😊
Ramen is below what I expected.Wagyu beef is real Japanese beef. It is rare to eat in Chennai.
Great Japanese food, I was very surprised with the quantity, usually Japanese food portion are tiny but with 100 rs extra its double the size, only negative is kinda expensive
One of the good ones in Chennai...Miso is awesome!
Went there for dinner and lunch the next day .amazing ramen.loved the setup , courteous staff . Loved the ramen!!!! If ur in Chennai and love ramen do visit aki bayAki bay please open a branch in Bangalore !
Authentic Japanese cuisine. It is a must try restaurant.
A good place to have Japanese food, but the cost is a bit high.
Had a great time at AKI BAY! The food was amazingly delicious and the Japanese staff was very friendly and enthusiastic. I strongly recommend you try out their yagi daikon, which was even better than that I had in Japan! The meat was really tender and the broth was very refreshing. The prawns in the tendon were also super fresh and the tempura was done just right. Kudos to the team 🙌 will definitely visit again!
Had japanese food for the first time.Place is good.Nice decor.Good ambience.Well illuminated.Comfortable seats. Its tricky to comment on Food because people may or may not like it depending on taste. We ordered Chicken Karaage, Chicken Misso Ramen Chilli and Matcha Pudding.Chicken Karaage was very sour due to the vinegar.Ramen was spicy and pudding was nice..But you must add salt to get complete taste in Ramen and Chicken.Must try atleast for one time experience. But a bit costly.
Seriously inauthentic. The ramen that theyre supposed to be famous for was absolutely inedible. Super disappointed. The food was disgusting and unbelievably overpriced.
As a person who has alot of love for east Asian food, and who has tried alot of Japanese food, this is by far the worst place. Trusting the reviews, my family and I went out for dinner. As we arrived, the staff greeted us and led us to a private room. The room smelt like a permanently closed conference room. We started off by ordering some starters and Japanese tea. All the starters we ordered were deep fried (we did not expect thatand it mightve been our misunderstanding. When the tea arrived, it was green tea with alot (and by alot, i mean way too muchof sugar. We said we wanted the Japanese tea and they got it for us right after. The Japanese tea smelt like coffee decoction and tasted like sugar water. As disappointing as it tasted till now, we continued. We ordered some Ramen and when it was brought in, all of us sighed with joy because it finally started smelling like Japanese food. Well, that lasted for about 2 minutes before everything went downhill. I had gotten the Tori Chintan which sadly smelt like Rotten chicken. I thought it was just mine but all my family members began complaining about how it smelt terrible. To give you an idea of how my family is, we have never ever walked out of a restaurant with food leftover on the table. We couldnt take sitting in that room and asked for the bill. I gave the food another chance and took a huge serving of noodles and immediately regreted it. We paid the amount which was way too overpriced for the terrible quality. My whole family feel terrible for wasting so much food but we just would not have been able to eat it. My sister and I have fallen sick just by the smell and eating such a small quantity. I will never ever come back to this place. It is genuinely a disgrace to Japanese food. Do yourself a favor and do not go here.
Authentic and tasty Japanese cuisine. Lovely ambience
Good Japanese Cuisine. Both Veg and Non- Veg options available. The Ambience was lovely. The service was good.
nice japanese food & good staff service
