They need to work on staffing and hospitality. It shouldnt take almost 2 hours to get drinks and food out to people.

Friend & I popped in randomly for a drink. One beer and one vodka/diet coke mixer was $14. Vodka was not measured & was heavily poured into a wine glass with very little diet coke. Music was exceedingly loud for only 3 patrons.

The perch was killer! Atmosphere was relax. Staff attentive and friendly. Hope to add to new rotation.

I went for live music, love seeing Goldie Johnson , previous visits were 5 stars

We were in town for the Colts Titans game and my cousin Greg took us there. Let me tell you that was the nicest place. It had an old school vibe that almost brought a tear to my eye!!! The chicken wings were like no other!! Live band and everything!! We need one in Cincinnati!! I will go here every time I come to Indy!!

I am new the area and went to AJs lounge because I heard about it on the radio. There was very empty when I went and ordered a rum and coke. The waitress charged me $10 and when I complained both employees giggled. I will never go back. If the is suppose to be the historical black bar I will pass.

This is a pretty good establishment for mature adults. I foresee myself returning very soon!

Went to the Unit Band....everyone was nice...enjoyed myself...need more servers ...that lady was working hard....

Nice intimate setting with great occasional entertainment but attentiveness to ordering beverages leaves a lot to be desired... Requested waitress service but never received it, had to go to the bar even though I tip well and the price on the same drinks always seem to change each time theyre ordered. They need to be consistent.

The boss is very rude and uptight. She hates everyone. She Always looks angry. And she made the band bring their equipment through the crowd which was a big inconvenience to me and my fiance while we were eating and drinking. They could have let the band go out the front door. They are behind the times. The best thing about the club was the band. The food was ok but the drinks was overpriced and watered down. The bottles was probably half liqour and half water.

Very tight quarters....no room to move around. Limited seating. Slow service. Ordered a perch dinner at 9:45pm...food came out at 10:05pm and tasted great! Heard that if you come when crowd gets there, food could take longer to come out. Perch dinner was $17 ....fish was perfect, slaw ok, fries ok.

Very nice environment, friendly patrons excellent service and mature crowd. Cant say anything negative. Ask Peanut to make your taste buds smile.

The band and live singers were awesome, small place and the crowd is older... there is a 2 drink minimum to stay and you can purchase soul food...

First time at AJs and i was not disappointed. This is strictly for the Mature Adult. Classy atmosphere, Great owner and Staff, great drinks, the Best Fish in Naptown, and the live band was to die for. Im taking my wife next time. Ive found our Weekend spot.

Small, intimate atmosphere. Great place to take your date after dinner. The food is yummy. I enjoyed myself.

AJ was used to be on Senate Avenue but theyve moved out behind the stadium and betting this new location is outstanding if you just want a nice place to go to have a friendly dinner a good meal and meet nice people take your lady or your girlfriend out to this location you will love it

Nice new place. Clean with good drinks. Is one of the last Black lounges that were on or around Indiana Avenue. It was formerly on Senate but moved a couple of years ago. They have live music and a limited menu. Call for further info.

AJs lounge is my "Cheers". Its great place to unwind, dine on dynamite fried catfish, and listen to an ecclectic blend of music. Folk are friendly and the staff are professional and courteous. A nice spot for out of towners.
