Recreation area with trails, wildlife & water views, plus play equipment & a splash pad for kids.
Beautiful place for a walk
Great place for outdoor activities
Some of the best tennis courts in the city.. I wish there were more of them.
Really great park. Wish there was another swing for middle age kids.Trails are well maintained.
Park is clean and quiet
Clean park with lots to check out.
Nice place to take my kids! Nice view, play structure, and little spray area!
Great playground and spray park. Lots of parking. They have washrooms. Good picnic areas.
Great park, 4 stars as the water was off when we got there, even though it was posted that it should be on. Great other wise.
Great place for a walk and also for the barbecue.
Be cautious, the geese are nesting. Always a great place to be.
Nice playground and path around the creek. Not many trees, so its exposed on a windy day.
One of my favorite parks in the city. Worth the drive if you live in the East. You can bring the kids to the play structure or water park, and there are lots of walking paths that wrap around the river.Make sure to check out the little island if you are going for a walk. It feels really secluded and there are BBQ pits all over for great family picnics. Excellent for dog walking as well, as there are a few spots where its pretty safe to let them off leash for fetch or whatever.Im a Regina Realtor with over 10 years experience. Nice spray pad and play apparatus for the kids. No washrooms.
AE Wilson Park is good for all ages. It has many different areas and activities to choose from. Whether you just want to go to the playground and spray park, walk , run or ride on the meandering paved pathways or take a walk on the wilder side with an easy hike around Boreal Island, the park has something for everyone. There is also a pond that you can canoe or paddle board on.PLAYGROUND/SPRAY PARKTo go to the spray park and playground enter off of McCarthy Blvd just north of Dewdney ave. There is ample paved parking . This area also has a picnic are , seasonal washrooms and change rooms and some equipment and play areas at the playground are handicap accessible. There is also an area ( no docking areawhere you can launch your canoe or paddle board to take a trip around Boreal Island.URBAN HIKING - BOREL ISLANDIf you want to go for a nature walk on groomed gravel pathways that take you through a Natural borel forest area and wild life refuge area your closest access is to enter the park off of Dewdney Ave and Dorothy street and go north on Dorothy to 5th Ave. you will find a gravel parking area with ample parking. There are areas that are accessible for launching your canoe (no docking areaNear the parking are you will find a large groomed meadow with picnic areas complete with charcoal type BBQs. A paved pathway leads you into the park and near where you see the first bridge is the entrance to Boreal Island. Boreal island has meandering gravel pathways that lead you past examples of many Southern Saskatchewan native plants, trees, flowers and fauna. As you get closer to the pond look for the resident Pelican and many other water fowl. Boreal Island is a lovely quite and easy nature walk In the middle of the city. A true gem. To protect this beautiful natural area, stay on the gravel pathways and remember "Take only Pictures and leave only footprints".WALK, RUN, RIDE, URBAN PATHWAYAnother entrance to the park is the parking lot at the west end of Ritter Avenue. This entrance will lead you down a paved pathway that branches out to go to either the playground & spray park (approx 1.1 km or branches of to the west to go to Boreal Island (approx 1.5km). The paved pathways throughout the park that are great for walking or riding. no matter which entrance you use the pathways are all interconnected. So get off the couch and get out and explore, mother nature is calling your name.
Almost no shadows for a sunny day of summer
Fantastic location. Well groomed. Regina basket brigade Mayb26, 2021 put on a great pop-up disc golf course... beautiful location for perminant course.
Will consider this to be my regular walking and biking path. Vast open space as if you are not in the city.
Beautiful!! Great for a nature walk. Doesnt even feel like youre in the city.
Great place to go for a walk. Its not quite as busy as Wascana which is nice, though it is gaining in popularity. There is lots of parking along all sides of the park. Lots of birds come here all year round, the walking paths are well taken care of and you have the option to go onto the islands as well which are gravel/dirt paths for an extra nature feel. There are multiple benches, and BBQ picnic areas throughout the park to rest at or enjoy cooking outside at. There is also a popular playground and spray pad.
I love being there for the sunset. Amazing place to go for a walk or jog.
Nice place for a walk or biking.
Its a nice park and we love going there. Just a little wet right now.
Nicely maintained walkways. Ample parking
It is a great park. My kids and I explored boreal island. We loved the nature trail. There is nothing else like it that we have found within Regina. The paved walking path is very nice. However it was the first time we have ever come across the Dieppe memorial and the flags are tattered and faded it was not a nice picture. The sask flag is almost completely gone and the regina flag has faded from yellow to white. Not very respectful. Also I had noticed the flags are out of order.
Sometimes you dont have to look far to enjoy nature.
Very impressive park in the city with a great pool, some beautiful spots for photographers and an island with paths to walk. It also has a playground for kids with cool water area. Will come back and recommend for everyone to visit.
Serene setting with great scenery.Only available washroom is at the splash park though, so time yourself accordingly. ;)
Amazing park. A few bbqs if you look hard. Grass is nice and there is large green spaces for Frisbee or whatever you like. Large very smooth bike path. Cant say enough about this park
Awesome! Went for a walk and ended up going on a nature hike exploring nature on a beautiful day. Be going back to do more exploring later on. Perfect to take kids and let them explore and see animals in their natural surroundings. In summer, there is a play structure nearby for the kids when its nice out. Go and have a blast and see for yourself
Wide open fields, a small babbling brook, a cool community garden to walk around in summer time, a great park if you want a secluded picnic with your family.
This park and the surrounding bike path network is one of the greatest parts of Regina! It is a beautiful spot. I would love to see more places planted with indigenous prairie grasses!
It is so beautiful a park for walking and cycling. Its natural scenario is also beautiful. I love this place...
Its nice living in a city with greenspace. Dont pave it.
wonderful park to play at for kids of all ages. even early walkers can use the ramp to feel successful in getting to the top of the play structure. There are picnic tables and bbq areas if you want to have a meal or get-together. It is a small water park, but the kids have a blast every time we go!
Beautiful and relaxing with the exception of the cyclists. Especially those that dont read!!! There are signs posted to dismount to cross the bridge. It is ignorant these people ruin it for so many others.
One of the nicest parks in the city. If you want to see birds and other wildlife this is a great park to visit
A beautiful, cozy, clean, quiet park with a wide, blue river running through it. I walked this park with a friend for hours today. We saw 13 different species of waterfowl and wetland birds.
Lost of paths cut through some great scenery, large playground and splash zone make for some fun in the sun
Well maintained, one of the more scenic, natural settings in Regina. Good toboggan hill for small children.
Beautiful park and a beautiful view. The constant drug deals, meet ups of teenagers, bass throw downs and donut contests in the gravel parking lot are a major detractor from the atmosphere, for both residents and people who frequent the park.
Enjoy walking the paths around the lake
I like it better than Wascana Park near Legislature. Cleaner washrooms, less people, nicer trails to take my kid and the dog out on nature walks.
One of the best park in Regina, situated on north side of queen city. There is something for everyone, you can enjoy having BBQ and same time your kida can play in splash pad. Beautiful sceenic view let you feel relaxed and you feel lyk away from the city even being in the city. I like the walking trails, its not all plain or straight it goes around the lake and you will pass through some amazing views, alot of wild life is also there.. we went with family and each and every family member enjoyed thr. Facility is very clean and well taken care of. What people hate most in visiting these public parks are public washrooms. And here you will find them clean and well maitained. Even swing were on the well matted area, whr chances of getting hurt or dirty were next to minimum. You can also come for cycling, skating. Or any kind of outside activity, great place for couples you can click amazing memorable pic here.. overalli loves this place..
Very good park. It has a great scenic path, grassy fields for picnics and geese to chase my dog. I would rate this park 5/7.
Love this park! Tons of pelicans and other wildlife, love walking in this park, especially on the nature preserve islands!
Love this scenic park and all the wildlife within it! Ive seen fox, beaver, muskrat, mink, fish jumping, cranes, pelicans, swans and many other birds!
Nice little park. No playground but open spaces and a nice waking trail. Also a little picnic area that is not too beat up.
Lots of space for kids to run and play. Beautiful view of sunset. NICE in the snow in the winter. Looking to visit when it is summer weather. 2017 feb 8
Gorgeous park for a nice walk, with lots of space to run around as well as a spray park to cool down.
