Storefront stop for the cooking of Thailand & Laos served family-style in simple surroundings.
Very good and flavorful food! We thoroughly enjoyed the house made egg rolls! We will be back, everything was great!
I had a Stunningly opposite experience there 2 days ago. I ordered pad thai and the meat was Rancid. My daughter was eating it before me and said. Mom, whats going on w the meat? I ate it and spit it out promptly. Smelled bad and was Obviously Rancid. Owner yelled at me and told me to never come back when I told her. Unbelievable obstinate rude response to my just telling her the meat was Rancid. I laughed because it was so absurd.. An owner who Refuses to check on a complaint is a bad business owner.
Chicken was ranced. Spit it out the minute I ate it.Told the lady kindly and she told me and my family to get out and never come back.
We ate there tonight and once again excellent service prices and food all excellent. We drive from Newman lake and it is well worth the drive. We have tried many others no comparison.
Fantastic food ,large portions tat were reasonably priced.
What a wonderful family restaurant! Nice people good food for a fair price. Not much more to say other than, You should try it!My 4 year old only left this much (in the photo). It was delicious!
Hands down the best Thai in Spokane! The family who runs it is also so kind and friendly they have us determined to become regulars! We love the pad Thai, pad see ew, and panang curry. Solid heat scale as well, need to remember how white I am and stick to the one star. Sat inside and loved how homey it felt <3Highly recommend this place!
Love this place. Our favorite place for Thai food
Excellent food! You wont regret stopping by.
Very good Thai, and one of the better restaurants. Its like when your mom makes a meal that isnt quite your favorite but it makes you feel good and whole.
Totally love Taste of Thi the Ladd Nad (31 minus the mushroomswas delicious and the black rice divine nothing compares to how great it is.
Venue is definitely Thai vibes with the restaurant having pictures of the King, pictures of the Queen, and statues dedicated to the different beings (entities being worshipped by the owner?).The venue is somewhat on the small-medium side, and can get very crowded during peak hours. Tables are usually roughly 3ft apart. Parking is plentiful.Upon entering, youll see tables situated at the center of the restaurant crowded with to-go orders (Not too sure why bags of food are left out in the open). Theres noise in the back from the clanking of pots while the chef works. A friendly environment with good customer service overall. The Thai Tea (as mentioned by other reviewerswas definitely different. Its because Half & Half milk is being used rather than Carnation condensed milk (which a lot of Thai restaurants in the US use). #SecretThe food was tasty.Everything was ordered as medium spicy (3 dishes), but oh my! The Phad Thai was extreme. What a burn! I dont know why... but the peanut portions were really scaled back on this dish. Kinda unorthodox for a Thai restaurant (see pic.).The curry was on point; however, the garlic chicken was lacking in my flavor IMO. Wish they offered small containers (tiny cupsof spices one can take home and add to their dishes if needed (To-Go or not). Just as past reviewers mentioned, some of the chicken meat were tougher than others. The portions were good, and leftovers were taken home.Huge portions of rice. A bit on the dry side for me, but once mixed in with curry sauce it was nice. Wow.Not my favorite Thai place in Spokane, but hope to give them another go & try more dishes in the future.
This is our go to Thai place in town. They have the best Massaman curry! When you ask for spice they bring the heat, unlike other local Thai places where you ask for the spiciest levels and still get bland food. The kids love the noodles, egg rolls and non spicy offerings. Great food and great value. Definitely a hidden gem.
I cant tell you how much I love this place. My only sadness is that the place is not bigger. Everything here from the family to the food is 100% quality. Love it!
Hands down the best Thai food in town. I order their phad thai ever time I go there and no where else in town even compares in flavor.
AMAZING Customer Service and the FOOD is FABULOUS!!! I walked in on a busy Friday night and placed a to go order. Upon walking in I felt very welcomed. I was able to order quickly and when I returned my food was ready to go even though I was early. Everything was just as ordered and delicious!! CANT WAIT to go back again SOON! :Thank you Taste of Thai!
Very good food. The menu is a little misleading and we had to retrieve our waitress if we wanted something, which is ok because its a small 10 table joint. Will return
Fantastic food and the nicest owners! Our family has been loyal customers for over 20 years and will continue to come!
Though service for our carry-out order was very good, having been to Thailand multiple times, my husband and I were both disappointed in the food we got. It was very basic and lacked the complex Thai flavors we were looking forward to.
Locally owned. Super nice friendly people. Excellent authentic Thai food. Could eat every day of the week. Yummm
Best Thai food EVER! We have been going here for close over 15 years. Love this family and the service they give!
Have ordered from here a few times now. The food had been excellent every time and the portions are very generous. I have celiac and they have quite a few gluten free options, it doesnt list it on their menu but they can make almost every dish gluten free.
First time trying out the restaurant and i was very pleased! The texture of the food, spice, flavor and portion size was on point! I even had left overs and i eat a ton. I definitely will be back!! Also the staff are super friendly which makes for a great experience!!!
Pros: Friendly service and nice people! Also, very good prices. But reviews are about being honest so ...Cons: Meat was tough, not tender. Thai Iced Tea was not as good as others Ive tried. Also, the food itself (though goodjust didnt stand out to us.I know Kunis down the street is more expensive - but I prefer quality so I dont mind paying the extra dollars to dine there.Still, this isnt a bad place overall. You could do much worse if you are looking for Thai.
Nicest people ever and the best food. Definitely my favorite spot in town! If you’re thinking about eating here just do it! I’ve been going here for a few years and my order has stayed the same. If you have a special request for ur order they’re more than happy to accommodate to your needs. Sometimes if you call it’ll go to voicemail. I assume it’s because they’re busy. wait a few minutes and call back. So simple. (some people can’t grasp that i guess). I’ll eat here till i die <3
I have been going here since my grown kids were babies. The family knows us and remembers us by name and even knows what we order. The food is phenomenal, great prices and you wont find a nicer family run thai restaurant anywhere.
The food is fantastic, when you can get it. Its nearly impossible to get thru on the phone because they only have one line. Finally drove down there after trying for over an hour to get thru on a Sat aft/Eve, and the order would of course not be ready for over an hour. Decided on Sunday to try. They are closed of course! What is up with takeout places being closed on the weekends??!! Very frustrated with this place. We were looking forward to having good thai food. Guess we will settle for mediocrity/overpriced food and go to Kuni. 🙄
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. This place feels like home. The food has been reliably excellent for years and everyone that works there is beyond friendly. When I think of Thai food, I think of the Taste of Thai. Thank you!
These days money needs saved and eating out can become really complicated. When I choose to make an order, I order here. Going to their location seems out of the way but it is absolutely worth the trip. First, even doing take out business only, theyve managed far better than other Thai restaraunts Ive tried in the area. The estimated pickup times have been very accurate and even after getting home and settled Ive had hot, fresh food. The portions are very generous. I want to stretch my dollars when treating my family and its easy here. Aside from large portions and competitive pricing (some things are 50% the price of other local places dinner menus!!), the family who owns and operates Taste of Thai are always sincere and kind when we interact. I am a huge fan and will make a repeat order soon!
This place is literally THE BOMB. Ive been fortunate to go there enough that the staff remember my fiance and Is order and take the best care of us. If you want real authentic Thai Food in Spokane, this is the place to go!
Our favorite Thai restaurant in the Spokane area. Food is delicious, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Very reasonable prices. I love their garlic shrimp, hot and sour soup and satay chicken, which is bursting with moist, perfectly spiced flavor.
I loved this place. It is a very traditional home kitchen taste. It is a place I would go for a lunch break or to taste more traditional flavorful Thai food. It is a nice hole in the wall type of place where you get good portions, good prices, and a lot of flavorful food.
This is our go to place for take out. Or thai. Hungry? Taste of Thai. Sad? Taste of Thai. Celebrating? Taste of Thai. We cannot get enough. Affordable price. Amazing food. When you get spicey food, you can still taste the great flavors and not just fire. They are more than happy to add or subtract what you want from the food. Great service. They remember our favorites. Just try it! Delicious.
Spicy level of 5 stars wasnt very spicy. Best part of meal was the chicken satay, really amazing.Seems like a family run restaurant, fast and friendly. Would love to see brown rice and fresh salad rolls.
Took the wife there for lunch, our first time. Very nice decor. I had #13 cashew chicken 4 on heat, wife had #15 mild.Service was excellent and the food was sooo good I couldnt stop saying how good it was!! We will definitely eat there again. And its so close to my house :)
The best family run Thai place in town .. a bit north but absolutely worth it .. been here countless times to say it for sure that they are no less than excellent .. every single time :)
The food (pad Thai, coconut soup, panang curryare our favorites. Michael and his family take such good care of us. They go out of their way to accommodate, be sensitive to food allergies, learn our names and favorite dishes. My favorite restaurant in the whole city!
This is the best Thai food you can get for the money in Spokane. Family owned, very friendly staff and atmosphere and the food is amazing. You can see the kitchen on the way to the bathroom, it looked extremely clean and organized. I highly recommend this place!
This is literally the best restaurant in Spokane. ALL menu items are off the charts and the prices are more than reasonable. Family owned, and run well by them. Support this local business, you won’t be disappointed. If you are, you need help.
Amazing food, amazing staff, and always excellent service! I’ve been eating here for years and have tried almost every Thai place in town and I promise you, this is by far the best Thai restaurant and experience in Spokane.
Friendly, low-key environment and delicious food. Its a small operation, Ive only seen maybe 4people working at any given time, so they can get bogged down a bit, but the quality of the food doesnt change no matter how busy they get. I recommend trying to get in a little before the typical dinner time because there arent that many tables and all the regulars call in for take out so there can be a bit of a wait. But its worth the wait! Its some of the Best Food Ive ever eaten!
Great people and service, excellent food, great menu, and reasonable prices. Always happy to visit there. We only get there occasionally as we live a fair distance from Spokane, but it never ceases to amaze us that they remember us and treat us like welcome guests; they even remember what menu items we like.
We have been a steady customer for years. The quality and flavor of the food is consistent and ALWAYS great. We gave up on other Thia restaurants years ago, they cant compare or compete with Taste of Thai!! The family is always friendly and we always feel welcome know matter how busy they are!
Amazing food and consistent! Weve been going here for atleast 5 years now and its as delicious as the day we first walked in. Rare a resturaunt remains the same quality and consistency, but they have done it! Everything is great and especially love the soups. Please dont ever change!
I cant even describe how good this place is....but Ill try. The location is hard to find in the dark, but when you find it you found perfect thai food. My wife had the beef and broccoli and I had Phad Thai; we also got some fried rice. The taste was perfect. You could taste each ingredient...not oil. Its authentic people as well. Very quaint, but thats what I like, family owned and dependant on good service. I HIGHLY recommend A Taste of Thai for your night out or take out (like I do)!
First impressions are everything! This was my first time to Taste of Thai, & I had never tried Thai cuisine before. My first experience was great! Warm, welcome atmosphere supported by wonderful staff, delicious food, and great service time! Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Very kind and nice owners. The bathroom is hard to get through in the back of the restaurant, but I am thankful there was one to use!Phad Thai is not my style. Maybe it is cooked with vinegar? I couldnt taste any tamarind. And the rice noodles were smaller than I enjoy.I need to try more entrees after reading all the other reviews and compliments. It doesnt seem busy enough to support ingredients in lesser used dishes.
Amazing entrees, the garlic shrimp was the best I have ever eaten. More than fair pricing on food and drinks. Excellent service. A true 5 star locally owned restaurant. Highly recommend!!!
I live in North Spokane and hadnt been to this place until last week and since have gone two additional times. The food is absolutely incredible and the service is equally as amazing. Just really sweet family run business. I love the atmosphere. A wonderful neighborhood hole in the wall that is unbelievably pleasant.
Family-owned: the atmosphere and food are drenched in love. I did not enjoy Thai cuisine before experiencing this little corner of N. Spokane-now I am a weekly patron! The staff does a great job from kitchen to table. Quick, polite and professional.
