Safari-style truck tours & animal petting & feeding draw families to this zoological park.
a very interesting place to be with your beloved family. with a very reasonable price.
Overalls good experience, but the foods is terrible, long frozen meat taste 🤢 and its cost RM30 for a set of Nasi Briyani Ayam 😂
Nice place.Only a bit crowded.Hope the management can arrange more facilities since everywhere need to que.
A little bit pricy compare to zoo melaka but the animals is not many. Wait for train to go to safari about 45 min
Worth every penny! I really enjoyed the truck trip, boat ride to the monkey island and the bird show. Overall will take about 4-5 hours to tour the whole place. The lunch meal taste good too.
Definitely will recommend for family members as adults and children will definitely enjoy here.Highlight will be the short shows that they conduct as its fun to watch. They have elephant, bird as well as a cowboy theme stunt show.Another highlight is definitely their truck safari which is about less than 1 hour drive as you will be see tigers, lion, bear, elephant..eta etaDefinitely worth for money.Sufficient parking space.
We came on a weekday and it wasnt so crowded. Tickets can be bought both online and at the counter. I recommend to buy your meal as well as they dont allow you to take food or drinks inside. The food at the café is okay. Choices of burgers, chicken chop and biryani .Zoo is well kept. Kids enjoyed the bird show and safari ride. The wild wild west show isnt for young kids as its very loud and has elements of violence.Worth the trip .
Was having very low expectations as with all zoos in the country. But I was pleasantly surprised with this visit. This safari is pretty good and worthy of a visit as compared to the national zoo.Firstly, the enclosures for the animals are pretty spacious. It was very good to see the animals are able to roam about in larger spaces. The species of animals were also good. I could see that the team running this safari places quite some focus on educational aspects with good signboards for each animal, shows focussed on educating rather than just entertainment. The employees were also knowledgeable especially the person conducting the bird and fun animal shows and also the caged truck drivers. The caged trucks would bring visitors into the enclosures hence giving that real deal safari feel. Safety is also good with double gate protections for each dangeroua animal enclosures and caged trucks being adequately secured. Only issue is with the exhaust. I can only imagine the issue that it causes the animals too. The monkey island is quite a let down. The limelight is the wild wild west show. Kudos to the team as it is truly a levelled standard of performance vs overseas theme park shows. The explosives, guns used and dangerous moves by the performers significantly added positively to the show.Food option was limited. Had 2 orders of chicken chop and it was nothing great. For families with kids, this would be a better bet if animal education is the intention. You may want to plan for a day trip as you woukf likely spend at least 6 to 7 hours in here.
Tons of animals. Plenty of animal shows to experience. I would recommend others to buy the entrance ticket along with food voucher.
Loved the safari. Dont forget to bring a fan, cap and umbrella cs itll be quite hot. Also do not skip any show especially the wild west show. The show was a perfect ending to our trip. Keep track of which show is what time and get the best seats. Always sit in the middle and a little bit Infront. I bought my tickets through ticket2U. Buy meals together with the ticket. Food are not so bad. four of my friends bought only 2 tickets with meal and it was just nice for us to share as the portion was alot. Do not buy water park ticket with safari together. Safari is quite tiring. Overall, safari was a great experience.
Visited many farms and eco resorts in the region and A’Famosa Safari definitely came out top! You can see tigers, lions and cheetahs up close plus can also feed them! Staff are friendly and entire safari is very kids friendly. Can do even better with more food choices and clear signages. Mr Chong the staff at animal enclosure is extremely knowledgeable and definitely a gem to the safari park 👍🏻Tip: If you had purchased Tiger Encounter package at the entrance, remember to identify yourself at the Truck Station before boarding. The driver needs to alight you mid-way. You miss this and you’ll need to rejoin the queue (took me 1hr 15 mins for the queue).
Worth the money. But was dissapointed since there was a section for elephant riding. That majestic creatures could not carry load on their back as it will affect their bones and all 💔💔
The animal is improved in condition compare to my first visit. The only down side is the canteen food. Extremely terrible taste specially the curry chicken. You need to spend whole day experience every activity. Never forget to visit the monkey Islands.
I consider this is the best zoo in Malaysia! My kids enjoyed very much. One of the interesting feeding was lion feeding. My kids were so excited! They told me they want to visit this zoo again. Overall the animals are well take care, staffs are very friendly & helpful.
Been to almost every zoo in Malaysia and I’d say this zoo is one of my favourites to visit, better than Zoo Negara. Not too far away from KL, you can do a day visit here no issues.Although they don’t have a vast variety of animals, the unique point of this zoo is that you can see and touch some of the animals up close. For example standing right next to a big gentle elephant was a new experience for us.They also have a safari tour that’s included in your ticket and you can see lions and tigers up close! One downside is that the sound system for some the shows (Wild Wild West & Elephant Showaren’t good until you cannot understand what they’re saying, but the audio system for the bird and animal show is good.Entrance fee is RM50 for adults and RM40 for children. No outside food allowed but you can buy their meals (no drinkfor fixed RM16 at the counter or pay more when you decide to eat inside. We also took a tiger feeding experience for RM30 each. It wasn’t up to our expectations as we thought it would be a private tour, so I recommend to skip this.I also recommend buying tickets in advance as you can get them cheaper.
Excellent place to go with 2 yrs toddler and 6 yrs… we had so much fun seeing and feeding the animals.. entrance fees are cheap but bare in mind that you gonna pay for the food (yours and for the feeding tooand later when you collect your pictures cause some attraction will not allow mobile cameras. The shows were fun, safari ride too .. boat to see the monkeys also great experience.Totally recommend to go and gentle reminder: tons of sunscreen bottles , mosquito sprays and mini fans… it’s insanely HOT🤣🤣🤣🤣 wear light colored clothing; guess it kinda helps
Nice safari-zoo concept. More shows watching than walking, unlike the typical zoo. Most areas are shaded, but its recommended to bring your own portable fan.Best to come early, get the nearest shaded parking spot, and explore everything from 9.30am to 3pm.Theres a possibility of rain in the late afternoon. Most exhibits are nice. Be aware that, the safari truck ride is very bumpy & loud/noisy. Its prohibited for pregnant & person with medical conditions. But its still a unique experience to enjoy. The walkway is not a circle, so plan your trip carefully. All shows are awesome. Try watching all if possible. Its really entertaining & informative. Other activities like elephant ride & specific animal feeding need to pay extra, which is kind of expensive. Its cheaper to buy the ticket thru online (RM38 vs RM50, as at Q1 2022). Parking rate is at rm3.50 per car. Extra attractions are available for purchase at the counter. The food price at the cafes are quite expensive for M40s. Eat prior to your visit is the better option. Most pet feeding pack can be bought at RM5 per pack. Lastly, your photos taken by the dedicated photographer can be bought at RM23.50. Wonder why the 50cents...Assuming the impact of the pandemic, few places in here are poorly maintained & undergoing upgrading works. Some animals look sick too. Hope they can get the proper treatment soon...or the Management can just let them go & live free in their natural habitat. Most staffs are professional & friendly. They dont pester you too much in buying anything. The place is really crowded during holiday season like school holiday, festivals and whatnot. So, the waiting time for some rides will take longer. In overall, this is a very nice place to visit with your family & friends. Totally recommended 👍🏻
my son really enjoying his time during our visit at AFamosa Safari Wonderland. you can feed almost animal in here.
This place has so much to offer but I hope you can remove this from the list of things that you offer, because this Majestic Animal is not meant to be someones joyride. And it pained me to see this loving creature to be chained in this manner.
One of the unique place to have close encounter with elephant - feeding them, take a ride (extra cost).Another unique point is the safari, you tour the living environment in the caged truck to have close encounter with the wild animals. There are a few shows - elephant, bird and multiple animals and Wild West. Need to plan your itinerary so that you don’t miss the shows.Ticket comes with lunch. Food is acceptable if you are not picky. Some facilities like the washroom are quite run down but should be fine with the locals.Probably need 10am-3pm to finish seeing everything.
the experience here started of very bad, the female staff with long hair in charge of the photo taking booths before the parrot was SOOO RUDE she was screaming not to take pictures and some other things soo annoying(please do something about thishowever the uncle at the parrot photobooth is the best and very professional so it lifted up our spirit and we ended up buying the hard copy version (rm 23.50when we exited the park. the journey started with a tram in to the wild kinda drive-in. the wait was long so it will be great if afamosa management added more trucks and more manpower. they looked exhausted. there were only 4 trucks and each journey is 30 mins so the wait is long during public or weekends. entering the wild the most exciting animals are the lions, tigers and cheetahs .the place that i sat in the truck has a hole so appreciate if you could fix it because its pretty dangerous for kids. after the tram experience we went to the reptiles den, the den is ok - meh, but when you go to the rabbit holes that is more exciting and the staff there is super friendly so it was great. there were also a place with lotsa chicks runing around. it was cute. when we were there we got to watch the elephants ( can check the elephant show in the sitethe elephants are so funny and happy (i hope there is no animal abuse because both the elephants and the trainers were very happy and love each other kinda environment). would come back just improve on the things i have mentioned. thanks!
It was a great experience being in the truck and the tiger are close enough to us. The place is in a good condition minus they should adding the truck during the peak hour to cut the waiting time.Should come early to get to catch the show time. Better interaction between human and animals compare to zoo where we can only see the animals from a far. Cheaper ticket when buying online.
Bought the ticket through Klook via Grab. Get a promo and discount through klook plus rm30 off through Grab. Total RM79 for 3 pax for Safari ticket alone.Otherwise the safari is quite big. Spent almost 3 hours inside. The place somewhat very moderately maintained but the workers very informative especially the Safari Truck driver. There’s many shows like multi animal shows and bird shows. The safari ride is awesome. There’s new editions which is 1 pair of cheetahs. The highlight of the ride is the hippopotamus family. There’s 5 of them. 1 father, 2 mothers and 2 offsprings one form each mother. One is 7 months which is Opik and the other is 1 year plus which is Covid. They are so cute!!!
Overall the place is good, nice n really enjoy the animal shows. But, i hope the Surau will get more bigger, bcs yesterday i went with my school trip. The space is too small, n my student need to take turn to pray.
An unplan trip to the a famosa safari wonderland. Had a great time, weather was just nice, wasnt bright but wasnt gloomy either, enough for a decent photo. Whats thought to be an OK OK place turn out to be a place we enjoy so much. So much activites can be done, animal seems well taken care of. Theres a truck u can ride to watch safari animals, lots of animal show, theres area for petting, boat ride to go to monkey island, poney riding for the kids. We end up going back earlier because my child wants more milk which we didnt prepare 😂😂 the only negative feedback is the entrance, ticketing is like snail 🐌🐌
We family members love this place.. happy to visit again! Discover a Safari Wonderland at A’Famosa Resort in the historical city of Melaka for a captivating day in the wild! Encounter with exotic species through immersive activities.Explore the land of ferocious tigers, elegant flamingos, towering giraffes, and more as you discover their habitats. Board a scenic cruise to the middle of a lake and visit Monkey Island to encounter lemurs, monkeys, and gibbons. Excellent tour. Well maintain facility with highly qualified staff. Showtime was always fun and interactive. Animals being also been took really good care. Overall experience is awesome!
A World Where the Wild and Tame Collide Walk into the land of an chanting animals ‘see the ferocious fangs of a tiger and touch docile rabbits, all in one place. Ride on horses, camels and elephants. ‘Walk Through’ among pretty flamingos, amusing raccoons and the dino ancestors, the emu and the ostriches. Feel the thrills of an animal safari; ride on our secure truck – make the giraffes peer and tigers glare in the ‘Safari Adventure Ride’. Cruise the river to ‘Monkey Island’ on a raft, to see witty little capuchins, brown lemurs, monkey squirrels & white-handed gibbons. Even touch and feed monkeys. Operating Hours: 9.00am–5.00pm
Lots of animal with opportunities to feed and touch them. Required long time spend to see lot of scheduled shows. Hope AFamosa can maintain the facilities better, for example proper parking and the resort as whole.
Appropriate sized safari, will need almost a full day if you would want to cover all 4 shows (recommended, quite entertainingand a trip to the Monkey Island. Looks well maintained and animals looks healthy.Worth the price and recommended for visit. Just might need to improve in the ride to the Safari which is too bumpy and slightly uncomfortable.Received great service from the staff and management.A great place to visit and worth the price!
I spent half a day with family at the Safari. Standard shows: elephants will spray water at audience. Come early (at or around 9amfor more convenient parking and skip the shows to avoid the crowd at the rides. Tix with meals available too.
Went to a famosa safari in November 2019.. able to catch up most of the activities such as elephants show, fun animals and birds show. I just love elephants show, they performing well.. please do visit.i believe they need money for maintenance and feed the animals
Great experience! A last minute plan. Buy ticket online thru Afamosa website coz its cheaper than over the counter. Really enjoy all the shows, and safari wonderland. The monkey island, open but going under some renovation. Its really great to spend a night.. so the iternary will be..afmosa waterpart.. check in hotel.. the next morning .. check out and spend time at animal kingdom. ..
The area of the zoo is relatively small compared to overseas. Also, the zoo is not well-maintained. Many times, the gates were seen open and we wondered if the animals would have escaped. 😂 Purchased the safari and water theme park package and was given free meal vouchers. Lunch portion is rather huge.
In general a very nice place for kids and adults alike. We went as a school group and the kids loved sharing the experience with each other. From the chicken to the elephants it was all great. Love how the “food stall” travels with the shows and you can get something anytime. In general the food and beverages is well over priced and small variety to choose from. If money is no object then enjoy yourself it’s worth it. If you traveling in a “BIg” school group there are many discounts and everything is reduced. Just ask your your group guide. The interaction on monkey island with the animals was superb for the kids. They ( once they overcame their fears had a great time and spent a lot getting food to feed the few monkeys , goats and sheep.
Recommended for your stay in a’Formosa if u have young kids. Cheaper to buy tickets online. Tickets at counter includes one bento lunch (non-spicy option and 3 spicy options. and drink. We reached about 10 am and finished at about 4pm. Shows are recommended.
Facility getting old and need to be renovate. Direction signage not very clear too. Foods supply shortage maybe we bought our tickets online and didnt order our foods.Me and my family like the shows especially Colour of Birds.Wild Wild West is also a great show, nice sound effects.Tips: If you like to get wet, you might want to sit front row. (Wild Wild West and Elephant Encounter)
If you love and care for animals THIS PLACE WILL BREAK YOUR HEART!I honestly don’t know how there arent many many more negative reviews of this place.. I dont even know where to start... We are ashamed we didnt research the place more properly. This place is all about making money and entertainment, animal welfare comes at the last place...All the animal shows seemed to be about entertainment instead of caretaking or education with loud music and animals doing tricks, forcing animals into unnatural behaviour. The wild animals (for example tapirare coming towards you, which to me is a bad sign, since its not natural behaviour and shouldnt even be possible! You can touch the tapirs because the wire in their enclosure is broken, they could easily trip over it or get stuck. Dangerous emu are able to put their heads over the fence where everyone including small children walk by. Do these people have any idea how dangerous these birds are?!I saw that at least one of the guinea pigs had wounds.Horses looked heavily malnourished and some of them were crippled.Sheep and deer have dreads/tangles and some deer had wounds. Deer pen is overcrowded, they simply have more than they can look after properly. They provide elephant rides, which are animal abuse in general since these animals arent build to provide rides.Giraffe, buffalo, crocodiles and many other animals have incredible small enclosures, it feels like the other animals are there to be able to have the name ‘safari’ whilest in fact only the tigers seem to really matter. The giraffes were licking paint of the pole. Some of the animals barely had any water, we saw some tortoises who were in a sad puddle of mud, because their normal water pond was empty.Last but not least: the tiger encounter. There is no info about why the tigers are here and where they came from, which gives me the idea that they weren’t rescued or used for conservational purposes. The idea of the tigers wandering free with a lot of space is great, however theyre called to the fence for feeding, then you, as a tourist, hold the meat in front of the tiger where it just cant reach it and the keeper takes photos (without asking?leaving the tiger begging for the meat. Its horrible. One of the tigers got stuck between two enclosures that are seperated with two automatic fences because it apparently walked after the bus. The keepers scared it with making loud noises, screaming and even used a fire extinguisher (what the hell?!to scare off the animal. We werent allowed to use our phones during the encounter which already raised suspicion, (also selling photo’s = money ofcourse, and thats what matters right..?but after seeing this... im horrified and almost broke into tears after hearing one of the lions (that was apparently in some small shack behind the open enclosurestarted to howl like it was in pain. Also some of the ignorant douchbag tourists were making loud noises and screaming at the animals in the enclosure to get their attention, this should be (as should the whole damn place tbhforbidden.PLEASE DONT GO HERE
One of the must-go places during your stay at AFamosa. Has a good range of animals and shows. Recommended to start the visit around 930am, watch the elephant encounter @ 1015am, multi-animal fun play @ 1120am, Colours of the Birds @ 12pm and Wild Wild West @ 2.15pm. Wild Wild West has blanks shooting and explosion so not suitable for young kids. The truck ride is an interesting experience.Note for tourists:Admission at RM$49. There is also a package price including a set lunch. (Spicy stuff only so not suitable for kidsRecommended to check the net for better deals. If you are visiting in the morning, remember to bring along a battery-operated fan to keep yourself cool. =)
I love the truck ride as we got close encounter with the tiger and saw many animals. The bird show and the wild west show was rather entertaining too.
Bought the ticket online so it cheaper than buying direct from the counter. Much difference from the last visit last 5 year. Many animal unavailable. The track visit is a joke because there is not many animals too see and the stoping time between animal station is too short. Wild west show is the best.
AFamosa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is a complete complex where everything is available. You can spend a nice holiday there with a reasonable budget. Its water park is really good where water slides are everywhere. You can have a full day in water park, however there are many things to do such as the safari, theme park and the night show ( caraval). It is really interesting
I would rate the Safari at 3 stars owing to my great expectations from the part. I believe that there could have been more tigers in the area which is the most exciting among all animals. However, the overall experience of being in the park is surely great, the elephant show, bird show, food and the overall park is simply awesome. This should be on your list when visiting Malaysia. Do take the truck trail into the forest for the fun and close view if the tigers. Happy travelling!!
A decent safari zoo in the country, but I felt they are understaffed. We could have brought the standards up as the same level as Singapore zoo, but without enough maintenance and staffing, the place will eventually be run down. Toilets definitely need an upgrade. Plant more trees! And eateries need to be increased as well. Oh they are also missing Rhinos. We need em!
Lot of attraction. Interesting place to visit for short trip. Location not too far at Alor Gajah. Ticket price quite pricey. But worth it.
Great surroundings. I bring my families here along with my mother in law in her wheelchair, almost all places is accesible by her. Not every places, but almost all. They have several animal shows. So make sure you come early to not miss all the shows
I didnt enjoy. The waiting queue was sooo boring we waited more than 2 hours!! The car taking us was old and its smoke was killing me. The animals were boring. I wouldnt repeat that trip
The safari itself not very entertaining because lack of animals but you should watch all the animals shows because that will make your trip and money its value especially the birds show. Lunch not bad. Good for family trip.
This place is not that bad especially if you bring your kids. They will love it! I agree that its very expensive. Outside food & drink are not allowed but inside FnB is ridiculously overpriced. Your ticket is already expensive and why mark up too much on mineral water? Not sure if the money is channeled properly for the animal welfare.. poor them. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the animal show and animal feeding especially the cute chicks. The safari trucks need maintenance though. The cowboy show was too loud and scared my kid. So.. not suitable for babies.
You will feel cheated after visiting there.Ridiculous zoo claiming to be a wild park. You will just pass through cages that few bored lions and tigers dying under the burning sun.Dont waste your money for feeding crocodiles and tigers. They are already fed up.Other sections of this place is like a joke. Especially musical animal parade. You cant stop laughing when you see the door opens. Few roosters, chickens and goats run through the corridor and then some people wearing animal costumes dancing for you instead of real animals.Strange that they arent shameful for all the lies they say in their advertisements and selling their tickets in a high price.
