A'Cuncuma - Sicilian restaurant in Palermo, Italy
Wonderful experience and delicious food with a lot of savors from Sicily. The 8 courses degustation helped us to endeavour typical products by a skilled chef and well presented by the staff. Little note would be to improve the decoration of the restaurant thats it. Totally recommend !
Excellent service. Amazing food that showcases all the cuisines from around Sicily in a modern way and beautifully explained. A highlight of our visit to Sicily!
Pyszne jedzenie. Szef kuchni wychodzi do gości porozmawiać. Kierowniczka sali prawdopodobnie?
Excellent restaurant downtown Palermo. Very good food, service where you feel very welcome and at home. I strongly recommend to discover this restaurant menu Porta Nuova where the wine card and assortment are excellents.
We stumbled with this place while we were looking for another restaurant. It was our first night in Palermo and our first visit to Sicily. It couldnt be a better welcome to this amazing island. The restaurant is a small place with little rooms, is quiet and simple. The lighting is too bright in my opinion but thats because Im a designer. We ordered the short tasting menu and a bottle of Nero dAvola. Among the first dish I remember a pizza cloud that blew or mind, an eggplant lasagna with tomato, a sweet potato with tuna, every single dish was beautiful and delicious, even the bread and the olive oil. It felt so local, so honest...you could feel that there were passion and love in the kitchen. The place is run by a father and daughter. He was THE boss.It was a perfect welcome for our Sicilian adventure
Perfect place to be, first class food experience which deserves a Michelin star congrats to the chef and his equipe
A beautiful meal , incredible service, incredible food, incredible wine. A La carte as well as tasting menu. Such a 5 star experience. Cannot recommend enough.
We tried their 8 course dinner (meat/fish and vegplus matching wine. A culinary experience both by taste and eye. The staff was very interested in their work and gave perfect explanations. In Sweden this experience would cost more than double. We recommend this restaurant!
Nemmeno sforzandomi riesco a trovare note stonate. Un must della Palermo enogastronomica.
Staff cordialissimo e gentilissimo.
Wonderful! Both charming and technically excellent, with delicious flavours of the Sicilian coast and a delightfully attentive treatment by the chef and staff throughout.Gourmet but not at all pretentious, discovery and pleasure are at the heart of this unique little gem.
We had a bit more f a complication since my wife is pregnant. The team was very flexible and created a wonderful experience.Food is marvelous. Wines are very good. Pace was a bit high so please slow down a bit. Since many places in tourist areas are very overpriced, just go here and get perfect value for the money.
Delicious food. Outstandong service. Best food I had in Palermo
Exceptional food on a journey we had the 8 course tasting menu with a wine pairing which was exquisite. While the intimate atmosphere on this family run business was exquisite.
Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent food. Gourmet versions of traditional Sicilian dishes.
Exceptional from start to finish. Each plate is uniquely curated with a combination of flavors and textures that allows you to experience each dish throughout your entire palate. I can’t say enough about how much my husband and I enjoyed the tasting menu and the service at A Cuncuma.
Excellent experience delightful food and service in. a trendy family setting.
That wasnt anything today. Despite a multiple online reservation confirmation, I didnt get a table. And that in a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide. Reliability is everything for restaurants that would like to get a star. Because a star means that people from all over the world even travel extra for it. Too bad I was very much looking forward to the evening. It should be my culinary highlight and unfortunately became the biggest disappointment on this trip. Unfortunately I cant say anything about the food.
Best meal we had in Sicily and we have been to many over the years. Hard to believe it does not have a michelin star. amazing flavor, I love the creative mix of local flavors, textures ingredients. The mix was such that you couldnt imagine what it will be like until you taste it, then you can only imagine the way he chose them to be.Really careful wine offerings, we tasted some well aged 2012 Etna Rosso. The service was super pleasant, she was great, cant ask for more. For us this dinner was the highlight of our time in Palermo.
great food, nice service, loved it. thanks for the super ecperience.
The best food I had in Palermo. Delicious dishes and great service. Highly recommend to visit when in Palermo.
Nice tasting menu
Friendly staff. Surprising food, which was well prepared!
Great service, good food, good ambiances. Absolutley love it. Highly recommended for a romance evening.
This spectacular gem was on our doorstep, thank God we went in.What awaited us was fine food, excellent service and a real taste of Sicily. We were the first in and the last to leave. I was quite adamant on staying.Would recommend and will be coming back.
I cant find the right words to express how much I enjoyed my experience. I will try my best in this review. Truly this visit was a cuisine experience. The hostess was kind, and she had a passionate knowledge about the courses and paired wines. Each course was positively unique, enjoyable, and esthetically pleasing. The chef clearly has a natural understanding for his art. Make no mistake, each course was art. The choices to pair certain flavors together was art; for me, this trait goes beyond a dish looking breath taking.
Wonderful experience.Staff was fantastic. Chef was great , tried his suggestions. Perfect!
Top
Very ambitious, old school setup, delivers only partially and therefore its quite expensive.
Some good food and some very normal food.I knew that this place was expensive (and indeed it was!but I was so disappointed by the quality of a few things I tasted, and even more by the chef’s attitude.I complained about the main dish I chose (pasta con riccio di mare agli agrumisince it had zero taste of riccio di mare (=sea urchin). The chef instead of try to understand why I was disappointed he completely ignored my comment and made fun of me, which is very unprofessional. I am used to eat in many other restaurants if the same and superior category and never encountered such an attitude. I will never ever go back to this place.Nevertheless, I should highlight that the staff person in charge of serving in the room was very kind and professional. I hope she gets to work in another restaurant of her category.
Best food in my life! Excellent, 5 stars
The food and wine were fabulous (we did the tasting menuhowever the atmosphere was a little cold and the staff a little forced and unnatural!Definitely go there for the food though!
OMG, this place is fine dining. Family run small restaurant, excellent cuisine, great service. We rarely choose a degustation, but we decided on the 8 course on this occasion. Every course was superb. Highly recommended.
This is a fantastic restaurant, one of the best I’ve ever eaten at! Would recommend the tasting menu 100%
Best meal we had in Palermo. Thanks Chef Vincenzo!
I visited A’Cuncuma after reading about it in the Michelin guide. The space itself is two small, bright and modern rooms with some modern art on the wall—stylish but not cold. We had the six course tasting menu—only €50–great value for money. The courses weren’t too big so we didn’t feel stuffed when we walked out but we were definitely full. I enjoyed all the food. The menu is seafood heavy and since I can’t eat shellfish I was worried, but the staff and chef were very accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at A’Cuncuma.
Awful staff attitude, zero ambiance, no soft music, overly lit. Limited menu with no viable options for vegetarians.
Were a couple of San Francisco-based foodies, and came across this place thanks to the TripAdvisor reviews. They are spot on: one of the best meals weve had in Italy (and thats saying a lot.)We went by on a Tuesday evening, and the place was empty - what a shame! (This was early April, so probably a widespread phenomenon. We made a reservation for the following night - which proved unnecessary, but your mileage may vary. We were looked after by the chef and his son; despite their limited English and our limited Italian, we got on fine - mostly because the food was so good. Theres a few English translations in the menu, which helped get the basics right. We cant speak for the seafood, but the starters and meat courses were fantastic. (One minor snag: no lamb. The creations are interesting - e.g., dark brown pasta as part of a dish (when we asked, we were told 20g chocolate powder to 100g of flour.)Highly recommended. Dont be put off by the slightly out-of-the-way location; its well worth the trip. Really friendly. EUR120 for two, including 2 starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts, and a bottle of wine.
